My husband and I absolutely love renting movies from this place! It’s a rare gem in today’s world of streaming platforms, but there’s something special about going to a local store, picking out a movie, and enjoying the whole experience. Not only do they have a fantastic selection of films that you won’t find on any streaming service, but it’s also a great way to support a local business. There’s a certain nostalgic charm to browsing the shelves, and it brings back memories of simpler times. Plus, their subscription is affordable. Highly recommend supporting this place, it’s truly a unique experience!

I just visited We Luv Video when I was visiting Austin for the day. I had read about the place, and how they closed down and then reopened with support from the local community. I was not disappointed. I felt like a little kid again as I walked around and looked at their enormous collection of VHS and DVDs. The place was full of awesome movie memorabilia and had a theater for weekly film screenings. If I lived in Austin, I would come here regularly. They had a movie exchange/donation thing where you could pick out a random movie wrapped in paper with a "clue" written on it. I picked up a couple for my movie geek friends. I'm so glad I stopped in here. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Austin.

I hosted a private birthday party screening for my partner’s favorite movie and everyone had a great time! Scott was super accommodating and we got to bring our own drinks, etc. I highly recommend booking for an intimate movie experience!!!

Went to a screening here for some local student films, and I absolutely loved this store. I wish it had been around when I lived in Austin. In addition to having an amazing selection of films (including an ATX section where I saw films from fellow filmmaker friends and even a former student), they seem to be very supportive of local filmmakers and students. What’s not to luv?!

This is an adorable video rental store. They have a pretty massive selection of films in DVD, BluRay, and VHS. Upon entering, to the left they have alphabetized films according to director. But further in, you'll find films sorted by genre. They also have a private screening room in the back which seats 25. When we visited, there seemed to be a party or event going on. They also offer memberships for renting, which seem to be on a per month basis, where you can rent one, two, three, or five movies out at a time, with extra rentals costing $2 per.

This place is a gem. Go and support it. They don't charge late fees either which is wonderful... I think I still owe money to blockbuster.

My wife and I joined We Luv Video soon after it launched to broaden our cinematic horizons. We've since borrowed over 30 movies from here--including some you cannot find on any streaming OR online rental services like Apple TV. Their collection is huge and constantly growing. The clerks are friendly, and we love browsing their recommendations and by director (to find things we're likely to enjoy but had never heard of). WLV also gets new releases, so we were able to watch many of the nominees in time for the Oscars. Even cooler knowing our dollars are supporting a neighborhood nonprofit, which puts on screenings and other fun events, instead of some corporate monolith.

They're back! 130,000 plus titles (more than any streaming service) and an amazing monthly rate (starting at only $10 a month). This location is in the heart of Austin and easy to find. They will be offering an event venue for local filmmakers and private screenings. The people involved love movies and most are working for free to bring this catalog back into the public domain so give them a visit and go old school with a video rental (yes, they even have VHS!) and pop some popcorn tonight.
