"We, the Pizza, from Top Chef alum Spike Mendelsohn, has signed a lease for a 1,894 square feet space to open its third pizza shop in the area at the office complex across from Ballston’s Quarter Market food hall. The pizza shop is projected to open by the end of the year." - Warren Rojas

My fiancé and I have been customers here for years as they had good vegan pizza options. They recently narrowed their vegan options down to a much smaller Detroit style pizza. It’s the same price as their former style of Sicilian vegan pizza for about 2/3 of the size (if that). We did Uber Eats to give them another chance after this disappointing change in menu options and found their 8”x10” pizza to be 6”x8”. It’s basically the same amount of pizza to order a large rather than two small pizzas. We called to provide feedback and the manager was not receptive to feedback, and hung up the phone. Needless to say, we won’t be recommending them or ordering from We, The Pizza anymore.

Been here multiple times, always loved the pizza and the service. Always took it out but the atmosphere looked good inside from what I could tell. The Detroit cheese slice is great, potentially better than Jet’s Pizza. I really like the crust on that. I’ve also had the cheese, white, and buffalo chicken. Their normal slices are probably the closest to a real NY slice you could get (still not perfect obviously, they use a conveyer belt to cook the pizzas, but my girlfriend who was born/raised in NYC loves this place). Big slices that aren’t really cheap but very filling. Always a fan. I’ve also tried the Very Very Sour Cherry homemade soda and it was REALLY good. I’m a big fan of a fruit flavored soda. They said they use real fruit on the menu and I think I saw the cashier muddling the fruit for my soda which was cool. Highly recommend overall!

Google
Visited this place On Monday with the family for a quick Bite to eat and I was impress with how clean and vibrant this place was. Love the Pizza flavors and the display area, the fact that you can see the guy making pizzas its even better. Good Music and good customer service, I will definitely come back whenever I am in the area.

I had my doubts at first. Then I witnessed some great pies by the slice. I was not disappointed and came back the next day to get more. I really like this place.

Google
Disappointing Experience at We The Pizza in Arlington (TRASH) I recently visited We The Pizza in Arlington at 4201 Wilson Blvd and was disappointed, especially compared to their excellent DC location. The pizzas were overcooked, with dark, hard cheese that resembled a low-quality microwave pizza. I spent $21 on three slices and a drink, but the food was dry and unappetizing. I ended up eating just the crust, which was the only edible part. This stark drop in quality from one location to another was surprising and disappointing. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning. Consistency is crucial, and this branch missed the mark.

Google
I couldn’t wait to rate this after I ate here for the first time! It’s difficult to find pizza places around my area that sell by the slice and that are great quality. This place has everything!! Great quality, service, ambience! The pizza tastes amazing!! Loved my margarita one! Would recommend!

Google
We loved the Sicilian pie. They stopped offering it recently and have swapped it out for a new Detroit style. We got about half the pizza for the same $30 price after taxes and fees. I actually went back to make sure they gave us a large as ordered because the box was so small at only 14” x 10”. The pizza itself looked like two personal pan pizzas tucked in a box together, and the texture of the crust wasn’t as good. We won’t be going back.

David Shaw

Google
The pizza was excellent. The crust had texture in the marinara sauce was very tasty. They obviously use high-quality ingredients and a touch of garlic. I had a slice of the pizza called butcher block. They reheated it, it was divine. They had four draft beers to choose from. I got the IPA. Highly recommended!

Yelp
A Slice of Heaven in Arlington! Every time I'm in Arlington, We the Pizza is my first stop--this place is a must! Their variety of options is incredible, with something for every pizza lover, from classic to creative. But my absolute favorite? The Detroit-style pepperoni. It's perfection: crispy edges, layers of rich cheese, and pepperoni that packs just the right punch of flavor. If you're a pizza enthusiast or just in need of a satisfying slice, We the Pizza won't disappoint. It's become a tradition for me, and every bite reminds me why I keep coming back!

Tay W.

Yelp
I have had We, The Pizza three times now. Each time the quality and taste are different. The inconsistency causes me to rethink ordering a fourth time. For the sake of this review, I will focus on the positive. If you are looking to enjoy a very tasty veggie pie, the Marketplace is on point. It's not just about throwing some veggies and cheese on the dough, the veggies are seasoned and very tasty. The marketplace actually tastes better, per our group opinion, than the Butcher's Block (meat lover's choice). The customer service has been helpful and positive each time we have ordered. They are friendly and offer recommendations if you are not certain which pie is best. You really can't go wrong with any pie from We, The Pizza. However, pizza pies are a preference just like beer or a good burger. Everyone doesn't like the same thing. I would say give We, The Pizza a visit and make your own choice. I'm sure you will find something appealing to your taste buds. Happy eating!

Yelp
First off, the name is a real winner, especially feels apt right outside of DC. Second, it's cheaper to do pick up rather than delivery, and even though parking may be an issue, if you time and right and have a passenger, they can run in, pay, and be out on the curb by the time you circle. We got a classic Hawaiian pie, and it was hot and chock full of toppings. The crust had a nice crunch to it. The phone ordering and in store pickup were a very easy and quick process. Price wasn't too bad, and we had enough for leftovers.

Shayla M.

Yelp
Stopped into We, the pizza on the way to the metro. The place was pretty busy. They had a decent selection of gourmet pizza slices. I didn't see a plain cheese option unless they were just out at the moment. I tried the bacon me crazy. This pizza had Canadian bacon, bacon and mambo sauce. If you are looking for a more cheesier pizza this place is not it. The toppings covered the entire slice. There was a also a hint of sweetness which I'm not sure where it came from, perhaps the mambo sauce.

Sanchita G.

Yelp
I had the spinach and artichoke pizza which was pretty good but the price was super high. It had a perfect combo of spinach and artichoke! The service was good it took 1 minute. It's a prettt big area where you can come and sit and eat which is a nice for a stop and shop pizza place!

Yelp
We, The Pizza... 4 stars easily just for the clever naming convention. So I was in the Ballston area for work purposes, and I've never been here before. So, my colleague and I decided to take a stroll in what seemed to be a pretty safe, pretty lively area with tons of little places to hangout / eat. Naturally, we stumbled upon We, The Pizza. We were the only ones in there on a Wednesday night in October 30 minutes until closing - but cool - whole place to ourselves. The pizza is on display and served per slice, very derivative of NYC. Even the "style" of pizza was derivative of NYC. Now then, this place is no Manhattan, but it was honestly pretty good. Place was cool, TVs playing sports, plenty of seating and in a nice area. Staff was great. I mean, we were the only ones in there, so they didn't have to try hard to give us their full attention, but ya know - even in those circumstances, sometimes you still get ignored. This was not the case. 2 young ladies and 2 young men manned the shop - and all were friendly and polite, but not intrusive. If I'm ever back in Ballston, I'll definitely go back

Akil S.

Yelp
Horrible experience with manager "thompson" This is a location we frequent often Cheese was full of sauce no cheese Called the store to see what could be nothing No accommodations were made. Very disappointed. If I could give zero stars I would.

Zack G.

Yelp
Homemade NYC-style pizza at a low-key shop that offers both by the slice (all of the pizzas are on display) & full pies Have a ton of different pizza variations, but also have a few other options as well (think salad, wings, garlic knots, etc.) Pizza slices are very large and high-quality. I was impressed with the ones I tried given that I have eaten a lot of pizza in NYC Space is fairly nice for a slice shop, and there is plenty of seating, but when I was there they had music playing way too loudly. Some more casual outdoor seating as well

Jaylene C.

Yelp
Once you walk in, you can see all the pizza options they have available. They have different options for ordering. You can order a full pizza, mix and match to make a whole pizza, or just get as many slices as you would like. There were so many options to choose from. It was hard to go there and only get one slice, so we ended up with a few. Wish we were able to try them all! The pizza slices were pretty large. Our two favorites were the White Pizza and the Bacon Me Crazy slices. They also had a variety of mixed drinks and sodas to select from. We tried the Matcha Tea Lemonade, which was pretty good. There was plenty of seating available. We thought the seats were pretty nice for a quick pizza by the slice place. Very comfortable. The staff was nice and helpful with any questions we had.

Molly B.

Yelp
We got the 2 for 1 Ubereats deal which is pretty amazing... except you can't order two different pizzas, which seems really odd and should be changed. Not sure who to take that up with. The Ace and Wes Cowboy Pie was a pretty solid choice with spicy sausage and pepperoni. I like a bit of a thicker crust and they're not shy with the toppings. This place is always in the top 5 list of favorite pizzas in the area. I'm new-ish around here and need to explore a bit more. It's pretty good but wouldn't be in my personal top list. However, compared to other pizzas I've had in the area I can see why it's towards the top. I'll update in the future!

Joshua P.

Yelp
The pizza is good, but damn it's pretty expensive. $5-7 per slice. I thought one slice was a little dry so I asked for a little cup of sauce on the side. Was told it'd be $1-2 depending on the sauce. Restaurant was clean.

D E.

Yelp
Go for lunch M-F for the best deal. The pizza is pretty good. Lots of choices there. If you like a brew with your pizza they have that too. Counter service is how it works for ordering your food.

Stacy D.

Yelp
Ordered 4 slices for delivery (via UberEats but it was the restaurant's own staff that delivered). Has the recipe changed at the restaurant? I remember the last time I got the same pizzas (mushroom, spinach and artichoke, capitol supreme) the pizzas had a lot more topping than I got this time. Kind of not worth the $7 per slice price anymore. It still tastes OK but it was much better before.

Krishna T.

Yelp
I stopped in 10 mins before closing and was still greeted warmly and even encouraged to have a seat to find it. Of course, I made sure to scarf my pizza down so I could get out of there before closing, but I couldn't believe how nice they were being about it!! Thank you to Fabio and Wilmer (?) for your hospitality! I love that you can order by the slice, which is the perfect portion if you ask me. My only critique would be that I wish the pizza had been heated up more thoroughly - I would've liked a good cheese pull moment!!

Jenny O.

Yelp
Deeeelicious pizzas! We were craving for some Hawaiian pizza and I have to say that We, the Pizza makes scrumptious ones! There were ample pineapple, but the dough did not get soggy. The chef highlighted the sweetness of the pineapple with some honey and balanced it out well with the salty ham. We also tried the Forest Shroomin'. If you like mushrooms, you MUST get this - this was my favorite. This was packed with umami! Mushroom sauce plus mushrooms plus truffle oil. What a bomb flavor and so delicious. The hubby also got a buffalo chicken one, with bechamel sauce. I had a bite, which was good. But honestly I was so happy with the other two pizzas that I did not have more of this. Le hubby really liked it though. We finished off our meal with the nutella hazelnut gelato shake. It was creamy and rich, without being overly sweet. I appreciated that the chef exercised restraint on the sweetness and thought this was really good for it. We ordered 3 medium pizzas, which we enjoyed over two meals and still had leftovers... and we eat a lot! Can't wait to come back... already dreaming about the pizzas here.

Joshua H.

Yelp
I got the Detroit pepperoni and the Lemony Garlic Wings. Both were very good. The wings were crispy. This was my first time here and I'll be back frequently

Evan N.

Yelp
Great place to go and grab a slice. The wings are actually really good and are crispy which is what I like. I tend to really like some slices and others not so much but I like to try them all. I've never gotten a full pizza because they are HUGE. My go to is to get one or two slices! Ambiance is very fast casual feeling but people always in there when I stop by! Service is great as they heat up the slice for a quick toast before giving it to you!

Kristie K.

Yelp
First time here and I was absolutely delighted at the vegetarian options available! Not only were they fresh and delicious, but they were unique and enticing. The butternut squash pizza was hands-down my favorite. Slices were large manageable. The pizzas were fresh and hot and didn't feel rubbery from sitting there. I can't wait to go back next time we visit the DC area!

Erin C.

Yelp
The white pie pizza was really good, the cheese on top is 10/10. Very New York pizza style

Rebecca F.

Yelp
Not your average pizzeria. "We, The Pizza" has several locations and they are able to deliver within a certain mile radius. You will want to call them to confirm. Though on the pricier side, you do get what you paid for. These pizzas are large (see pics) and filled with toppings. Can always compliment a place that doesn't skimp out on ingredients. Pizzas are made fresh and everything about it made me want another slice!

Susie J.

Yelp
I love getting slices from here! They do Great job on their pizza dough! Great texture and always consistent :)

Ashley F.

Yelp
There's nothing wildly wrong with this pizza. The bottom was nicely browned and held up well. Crust is cakey not yeasty. The sauce is more sour/acidic. The cheese lacks flavor and was dry yet greasy on the top. The toppings aren't evenly distributed but were generous. My problem is that for the price paid, I expect a pizza that is better than chains like dominoes. If it was a blindfolded tasting, sadly dominoes might outperform this supreme pizza.

Christi A.

Yelp
The price is quite reasonable and the pizza is so good. I purchased a Mediterranean Greek joint and it was an bussin'.

Meeka A.

Yelp
The pizza is pretty good and I say this as one of those people who went to Italy once and turn into pizza snobs . They also have garlic knots, wings, and really great non alcoholic drink choices. The service was okay. I would definitely order delivery next time but overall a great choice.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
I stopped in for an early dinner during the work week. It was quiet and I ordered a slice of their spinach and artichoke pizza. It was delicious! They have many veggie options which I appreciated. They also do home-made sodas which I didn't try but sound good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Kathryn K.

Yelp
The hot honey pizza is an all time favorite. Great customer service as well and the pizza is delicious. Great location in heart of ballston.

Michelle E.

Yelp
I came here today after work literally starving after having skipped lunch ch altogether. It would have been better to come here earlier to enjoy one of their lunch specials but perhaps next time. I decided to get two slices instead of one, because I'm basically fulfilling lunch and dinner together. My favorite pizza from this restaurant is called the Capitol Supreme, and it comes with sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, green peppers., and onions. The service was fast today and it took less than three minutes to heat up the slices and deliver them on the plate. I like the I side dining area here, and the tables and seats are super comfortable as well. They do have outdoor seating available but there was nobody out there today in this scorching heat. I definitely left here satisfied after finishing off most of the slices!

Marcella D.

Yelp
Terrible! Pizza was hard cheese was hard asf .. maybe I came in after the pizza had been sitting for hours but definitely not good . Some of the wings were so large ..nobody wants large weird looking wings that don't taste like anything . Idk take a look at Wingo's wings and ask them how they prepare their wings because this place is just not good .

Jackie B.

Yelp
I'm fighting for my life, curled up, while I write this. I had a Detroit pizza and garlic knots delivered today and while it was decent (I prefer Emmy Squared), three hours later I'm sweating profusely and struggling to eliminate so my stomach will stop bubbling. I only ate 1/4 of the pizza (they cut it into fours) and the garlic knots. No new foods today (besides trying their new Detroit pizza) or the past few days since I've been cooking more at home and saving the eating out for weekends. I don't know if it's We, The Pizza's new Detroit pizza or if it was the garlic knots (I've had the garlic knots before and no issues) but this is the first time I've gotten sick from WTP. I don't have a delicate stomach but for those that do, maybe go somewhere else because this is miserable.

Jon F.

Yelp
It's pretty rare to find a normal pizza place with vegan slices, so I really appreciated this. And it's a tasty slice: nice and greasy crispy pan cooked crust, topped with plenty of pesto, tomatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and fresh basil. Sadly it is the only option for vegans though, even the garlic knots are made w cheese and they don't have vegan cheese available. But honestly the pizza crust and pesto are oily enough (in a good way) that I wouldn't want vegan cheese on it.

Emma Z.

Yelp
A great spot for New York style pizza. The crust is a bit on the thicker side, but otherwise one of the few places for a plain, hits-the-spot slice. I usually stick to a classic cheese pie, though the ultimate cheese is also pretty good. I also liked the spinach and artichoke slice with bechamel sauce. It's greasy but not too greasy--good for eating on a weekday for lunch rather than your go-to Saturday night post-drinks food. The only thing I don't like are the garlic knots. Maybe I got a bad batch, but mine were tough like a two-day-old soft pretzel and excessively greasy. I would not order them again. Prices are comparable for what to expect locally. I usually just order a whole pizza to share and save some for later. They're doing delivery during the pandemic. Make sure to tip generously!

Nicolas P.

Yelp
Was this a delicious pizza? Absolutely. Was it worth $31 (with tip)? Absolutely not. There are cheaper places in the area that are just as good if not better, depending on your tastes

DON C.

Yelp
A-OK!.....PIZZA AT IT'S BEST!! This new pizzeria, is just a block away from the new Ballston Quarter and is a great addition to the food offerings of this area. Pizza, Beer, Garlic Knots, Wings, Salads & Hand-Crafted Sodas are the main fare. If you like a crispy base crust on your pizza you have come to the right place. This was my first experience at this location, but I've been to both the Capitol Hill and Crystal City location. This one is on par with the others and the pizzas are good. If you are a meat lover, try the Butchers Block pizza, it's my favorite and pure heaven! The same is true for the pepperoni pie. The wide, thin medallions of pepperoni meat have an intense spiciness and the oregano-accented sauce pairs well with the crust. The We, Supreme falls in line as my next favorites. The vibe is cool and the pizza options are delicious--but I must admit they are your typical standard pizzas; nothing out of the ordinary toppings wise. I say this to not slight "We, The Pizza" because the food is damn good. I just wish they would come up with more unique offerings than your standard pepperoni, Pizza Hut supreme-like, buffalo chicken, margherita & spinach type pizzas you can find anywhere. These pizzas have been on their menu and in the rotation of their pies since Spike Mendelsohn (the guy from Top Chef - Season 4...I believe), opened the first location in Capital Hill....over 10 years ago! With that being said, I've tried most of them and they are all bonafide legit. The toppings are tasty, the sauce is okay....but the crust is what does it for me! It has a toasty, crispy-crunchy, chewy bite to it that sets these standard pies (even the typical-traditional ones) apart from other pizzeria places around the area. The price though is a little steep with two slices running you near $10 bucks; where as a whole medium pie $20 and the large pizza coming in at $22. My lunch consisting of two slices & a medium drink cost $12 bucks! Yikes!! Not bad, but definitely not the cheapest lunch option either when you can get a whole pizza & liter soda for $10 bucks or less at competitors around the DMV. In all though, I would say it is worth it and you can't go wrong eating here overall. Price is a relative factor and in "We, the America" like most things, it's your choice to accept it or go somewhere else with regards to the price point. Otherwise... It's fast, quick and delicious...what more do you need. It's not a bargain deal lunch/dinner spot...but, it hits the spot!! In my opinion, despite the price per slice...hence not giving 5 Stars, I will say "We, The Pizza" is probably one of the best quality pizza options and places around the Ballston/Arlington area for a quick bite."

Mario R.

Yelp
Piza by the slice with ay least 8 different options is a great idea. I recommend the place

Mischa J.

Yelp
A nice place to stop for a pizza and a beer or soda. I stop here occasionally on my way home. In my opinion the pizza is overpriced (tasty, but overpriced in my opinion), the craft beer selection could be better than it is, and the chicken wings were somewhat tough and dry the one time I tried them (not very tender and juicy). Otherwise this place is worth trying, and the pizza selection is good.

Micki S.

Yelp
Overpriced and oily, but the service was great, and my family enjoyed their milkshakes

Leslie P.

Yelp
I loved the pizza. Had the simple cheese and a slice of white. Nice and crispy and chewy. I was really happy eating here. No problems with a quick slice.

Lily B.

Yelp
Had 2 Doordash orders, both pizza slices and chopped salads. Am a NYer by birth and when trying a new pizza spot, always try cheese only. If a place can't do the basics right, am not bothering. The slices are large for DMV and are NY style. Flavorful and good, well above average but below amazing. What they nailed completely were chapped salads. It has been years since I had one so fresh and flavorful. I will gladly buy again and expand to their others salads. Definitely recommend!

John J.

Yelp
The wings are really big and tasty! 5 stars on the wings! Pizza is good too! Service is good in the store and delivery has went well.

Charles C.

Yelp
Great pizza, reasonably priced, and comes out quickly. Nice to have a place that serves slices in this part of Arlington.

Christopher A.

Yelp
Ordered a pizza that never arrived - great pizza (we've ordered a ton over the years) but unreliable service. Management was good about refunding our order, but still dissapointing. Update: management reached out to me and made it right - class act. Everyone is having staffing issues these days, but appreciate that We, The Pizza goes above and beyond to do the right thing.

Grace E.

Yelp
Pretty good pizza and decent size for the price. Their Ranch was REALLY GOOD! Other stuff on the menu looked good too. Service was quick and I didn't have to wait long for a pickup order.

Chris G.

Yelp
They have the best dairy-free/vegan pizza in the area! The sicilian crust is light, tasty and crispy. The crust and toppings are so good/fresh that there is literally no need for cheese. My girlfriend prefers it over their ny style regular pizza! I added pepperoni and other toppings to mine (as seen in photo). Definitely give this place a try! I also happened to order to the crystal city location by accident, and the staff here were super accomodating and helpful.

Amanda W.

Yelp
Had a "wow" moment when I not only saw but tasted several of their pizzas, having walked past the spot for over a year! These pizzas are absolutely stellar and they have some unique combos that make you ask, "has pizza gone too far?" One bite will change your mind, and the next you know the entire slice has evaporated from your plate! They are, indeed, a bit pricey compared to chain pizza stores, but you get what you pay for...pizza made from real and fresh ingredients. We the Pizza is a treat. A cheesy, tasty treat.

Michael S.

Yelp
Called to place an order tonight. I am in the Residence Inn hotel which is literally 0.2 miles from this restaurant. It took me over 20 mins to place a phone order because their system was saying it was outside their delivery area. I can see the restaurant from the window. I should've went and picked it up, but I was with my 4 and 8 yr old swimming in the hotel pool. Once they got their system to recognize the address they took my payment and said it would be 25-30 mins. 70 mins goes by and no pizza, so I called the restaurant. They said he was on his way. So I continued to wait. Then in the meantime the restaurant called me back and said their system crashed and they had to take another payment. I informed them that a payment was posted to my card already. They said they had to again and that they would refund me. When they were taking it again he said the system crashed again and that he needed the manager. Yet a second payment posted to my account while on the phone. So $62 now for one large pepperoni. While waiting, I could hear them say just hang up, so they did. The pizza eventually arrived after 1:50 mins when they initially said 25-30 mins since I was 0.2 miles away. Very bold, on their box they have a big #1 pizza in Ballston sticker. Of course when the pizza arrived it was room temperature. Not sure who is voting on this, and if this is considered #1 in Ballston, I would hate to try any other pizza place in the area.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
No problems with the service but the wings with their special mambo sauce or whatever were disgusting tasted like they were soaked in sugar for several days. I'm a little aggravated because Uber Eats will no longer let you review the food. Also, the pizza is extremely overpriced and they charge $1.25 for six sliced jalapeños in a cup and don't even cook it into the pizza. The pizza itself seems OK but this will be the last time I'm ordering From this restaurant. 34 or something dollars so I got the disgusting wings for free. They were running a deals. Only reason it popped up so I thought I would try it. The pizza is running the basic generic nothing special God I don't know it looks like a few jalapeños and a few things sausage they threw on there maybe tan and then a side cup about sliced jalapeño peppers in a cold like I have in my fridge that I could've just gotten out of the jar for free and put on top of the pizza. Anyway, not to take this out on the restaurant but I wanted to quickly leave a review on the meal on Uber Eats but apparently we are no longer able to do that.

Tony C.

Yelp
I was heading to one of my all time favorites 'The Bronx', for a few slices.....Closed for good ! As I turned back to the metro before crying myself to sleep a buddy of mine shot me a quick text and suggested this place. So glad I did, veggie pizza is quite tasty. Can't wait to try more.

Maryanne G.

Yelp
Great pizza! Super generous toppings! Right on-time delivery, on-line order was perfect, pizza was hot. Salad was very fresh - parm dressing was rich and creamy. I added kalamatas and Calabrian peppers to one of their specialty pizzas - the Calabrian peppers give a really nice kick to the pie! Crust had a very nice chew to it. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was that the crust was much thicker than I anticipated, and I am just not a thick crust fan - but if you are, you will adore We The Pizza!!!

John M.

Yelp
Unbelievable pizza. The boss bacon me crazy and buffalo chicken. Excellent service and food
