Perfect venue for a musical show. Comfy seats, raised stage so no bad seats. Staff were helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking, some meters, some tree, a lot behind building

We went to see a candle light performance of Coldplay and Imagine Dragons 🐉 it was amazing. This is the 3rd one I have seen here, it was a great experience. Now we need one dedicated to PRINCE.

Google
Absolutely amazing venue. I got a chance to see the late night screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show, and it was such a nice venue to experience that in! The designs along different fixtures across the space were beautiful, the seats were comfortable, and the concessions were amazing as well! I would strongly recommend going here!

Beautiful candlelight concert. Comfortable. Staffed well.

The show was absolutely amazing . We sat middle of the first row, and the sound quality and visuals were amazing. My wife and I were extremely glad we came to watch. The musicianship and accuracy of the music was impeccable.

I love the small, old-school feel of this venue. They show a wide variety of movies and live acts. I've seen Practical Magic, Corpse Bride, Hocus Pocus, and Dennis Leary. Makes for great affordable date nights.

Interesting place, a movie theater but with a stage. Single screen. Holds about 400 people. Their focus is on small acts. Singers and comedians. The movies seem to be cult classics or new independent stuff. You can buy a beer/wine, but you need to become a member of the theater club.

10/10 must do a candlight show if you love string instruments! What an amazing and interactive show tonight. The Halloween theme was amazing and my fiancé and I are completely blown away!

Yelp
I'm in my movie era, and I'm so excited to finally have gotten a membership at Wealthy Theatre. Nate and I went to the Cat Video Fest on my birthday, which was so fun and sold out! I'm glad I got tickets online ahead of time, but they were still selling tickets at the door when we arrived about 20 minutes before the show. Memberships are only $15 and are good for the year. Membership gives you voting privileges for board seats as well as access to the bar at events. They sell some cocktails, beer, canned seltzers, and snacks. The theatre is historic and beautiful, and the seats were pretty comfortable. I will say it was a hot day and it got a tiny bit stuffy, but wasn't too bad. They show older movies and also have live music performances. I can't wait to come back to see more movies!

Yelp
I like having a community theatre for movies, plays, or in this case, a comedic opera. The Yeomen of the Guard was entertaining with great talent, including a live orchestra. It ran a bit long, 3 hours with a 15 minute intermission. The theatre itself feels hipster. Slightly old but revitalized with the creative shows. You have to be a member to enjoy alcohol at the events. Join for $15 and you can drink for a year. Overall a nice place with some free parking in the back. Check out something that interest you today, playing this summer.

Yelp
My favorite community space in GR. Join the GRCMC, it's totally worth it for the savings on tix and you support a great organization (and are eligible to purchase alcohol at the concessions stand.) ! I've seen everything from foreign flicks to old blockbusters to Gilbert & Sullivan operas to youth rock concerts to film festivals here. The dedicated staff and volunteers here make it a welcoming, inclusive space for everyone.

Yelp
What a beautiful and important place in Grand Rapids. I've been a dozen times and each time I am delighted by how lovely the theater is and how supportive the community is that supports this space. I love the Tuesday night movies, they show classics and the fans all show up. If you're a member you can get a class of wine or a beer to enjoy during the show. For everyone else they've also got popcorn, candy and lots of drink options. There is parking in the back lot if you get there early enough but there is also plenty of street parking in that area!

Yelp
The Wealthy Theater is an amazing community place! From cultural film festivals to open projector nights, the theater constantly has new and exciting things to see and be a part of. The theater not only shows movies but they often host events like the city of Grand Rapids mayoral debate. The theater prices are really reasonable for many people, allowing you to be able to go frequently. If you want more community, the film society has a substack newsletter and a discord server to talk with other people!

Yelp
Finally got to visit the wealthy theatre and loved every minute of it. We went to the Eagles Tribute event. Sound was amazing, comfortable seats and a great view of the stage. Definitely an intimate experience for any show. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Wealthy Theatre (WT) is such a wonderful, priceless part of the Grand Rapids community! It is lead and staffed by great folks who care about bringing diverse media programming to the neighborhood. Aside from a venue for local acts and artists to perform their craft, WT also features cult-classic (and not-so-classic but beautifully offbeat) films every Tuesday! With a WT membership you're also able to purchase beer & wine to accompany your popcorn. This basically saves me in the winter months when I just need to get out of the house-- a perfect mid-week date night. Wealthy Theatre also has a smaller space named Koning Micro-Cinema inside where more intimate community events can take place. I've participated in multiple events and can attest to its charm. Take away: join the Grand Rapids Media Center event notifications via social media and watch out for interesting, diverse, fun events to attend!

Yelp
Wealthy Theatre was saved from demolition by the Grand Rapids Community Media Center not too many years ago. Built in 1911, WT just celebrated its 100 year anniversary and is as healthy as it has been during that first century. Tuesday nights are a can't lose situation. The Meanwhile Movie Film Series plays a cult classic each week at 8pm. Occasionally there are tie-ins with other local themes or businesses lending some added fun. The library teams up with the theatre each year to help show the transition from book to film. The films are half price of other movie houses. If you pick a busy week in the fall of WT's schedule, you will find a vast array of bookings. That week could feature dance, a national touring music act, a multi-media event, live theater and a fashion show. A busy week, but something different to see each day. An easy place to attend multiple nights of the week. The staff/crew is amazing. Each event is well attended and definitely enjoyed by all. The facilities are clean, handicapped accessible and beautifully restored. They have a full bar, popcorn, pop and candy as well. Note that Wealthy Theatre has a club (liquor) license. This means you need to be a member of CMC, the parent organization. Fortunately they make it easy to sign up at any event, online or at their Bridge Street location. One of the other benefits of being a CMC member is ticket discounts! Wealthy Theatre allows members to purchase tickets at a better cost, sometimes with advance pre-sales. Office hours are M-F 2-7. You can call them at 616-459-4788 x130.

Yelp
Great venue. Wealthy Theater has been hosting a wide range of events for years now and if you can find one that fits your interest, it's great. I prefer Meanwhile Movies that work in conjunction with the Meanwhile Bar down the street and they are hosted in their cozy micro-cinema. Easy free parking and they just recently got a liquor license I look forward to taking advantage of as soon as I find a good reason to return.

Yelp
A longstanding pillar of the Grand Rapids community, this charming, refurbished theater is the heart of the Wealthy Street revitalization for me. Closed for many years, local people and businesses have put time and energy into bring it back to life as a movie and performance center. It is currently operated by the Grand Rapids Community Media Center. Tonight Keifer and Friends, a Pitt Bull rescue organization, featured "Beyond the Myth", a documentary that focus on dispelling myths about Pitt Bulls. Wealthy Theatre was the perfect venue for this event. They even had the concession area open for it! Pro Tip: If you are a Community Media Center member you can by alcohol drinks at Wealthy Theatre. This comes in handy if you are here for a Meanwhile Movie.

Yelp
Wow do I wish there was a theater like this in my neighborhood. The cozy theater in which they screened my friend's documentary film "Ed's Whale" as part of the Grand Rapids film festival was just the right size for an intimate screening, had a lovely installation artwork that added ambiance to the theater, and all the staff seemed to take such pride in the place that made it all the nicer to be there. Their concession prices seemed super fair (small popcorn was only $3 and a large just $5), but they only serve alcohol to members, which I would surely be if I lived closer. What a cool little place.

Yelp
I reserved the Koning Micro-Cinema this past weekend for my husband's birthday party and the experience was awesome. Communication with the theatre was top notch and the service and amenities offered were outstanding. All of the attendees had a blast. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

Yelp
Plays independent movies. New and old! Right now Pina is on the big screen bringing Michiganians great cinematic works! I support this theater! Beautiful exterior. Old architecture and neon sign make me nostalgic. If i lived in Grand Rapids, i'd be a regular!

Yelp
I have been waiting over 2 hours past the time the show was supposed to start. I paid $20 for mix tapes basically. Very disappointing. Very unprofessional. A lot of people standing around with their thumbs up their asses.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere, the people and the eclectic nature of the various events that take place at Wealthy Theatre. Everything from live concerts with great local, regional and national musicians to movies to lectures to the live simulcast of the Inauguration...wow!! Ticket prices are great, the historic theatre is beautiful and the neighborhood has developed into a great place for food and fun. I love it there.

Yelp
There just aren't too many 100 year old theatres around in general but to have one that is in such fine condition is a rare asset. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing a feature film at a huge IMAX theatre and all that as much as anyone but Wealthy Theatre is a trip back in time. Even with the great vintage vibe, they still bring modern technology to every performance with great sound, lighting and image quality. Grand Rapids is truly lucky to have a place like this and anyone who lives here owes it to themselves to come check it out.

Yelp
Wealthy Theatre is a gem of Grand Rapids. They are the only place around that does so much stuff in the community. There are always cool movies and concerts and random events going on. The website is very good for contacting people and looking up events.
