Where to Eat and Drink in Lancaster, Pennsylvania | Eater Philly

"At this Ephrata winery I can while away an afternoon in the outdoor courtyard sampling interesting Pennsylvania-made wines—think unoaked Chardonnay, dry Riesling, and a Chamborcin rosé—or opting for cocktails made with locally distilled spirits or beers from various Lancaster breweries; there's a full Mediterranean menu and live music on weekends, so it's more than just a tasting room." - Caroline Coral

Google
What a cute find! Didn’t know what to expect. Rustic atmosphere - lovely. Enjoyed tasting the “naked” Chardonnay and we bought a bottle to enjoy in the tasting room Nice activity on a rainy Sunday afternoon

We were in Lancaster on a last minute trip when we found this gem. We have been to a number of other wine tasting establishments in the area, but this place sets the bar. If you are in Lancaster, you have to take the time to visit the tasting room. Weathered Vineyards just has great vibe; Matt our host was amazing, the customers engaged with each other, and the space is just super cool. They have live music on Fri & Sat so that's a bonus. If you are traveling anywhere near Ephrata PA, put this on your hit list.

Very nice winery! We enjoyed a wine flight and a bottle. They make delicious dry reds. They also offer food, we got a nice cheese charcuterie board. There is plenty of seating inside and some seating outside as well. The building is historic and doubles as a bed and breakfast. The parking lot isn't huge but we had no trouble with parking when we got here. Bathrooms are very clean the staff is very friendly. Would reccomend!

One of the best vineyards I’ve ever been, large platters and great music and service

The wines are really good! In general I am not a fan of PA wine, but all of the whites and reds I tasted were impressive. I bought 6 bottles to take home with me, just opened a Chardonnay this evening, and had no buyer regret! I also very much like Waltz wines, also in the area.

Girl was nice at the bar but the meatballs were clearly premade and reheated. Cold in the center so who knows how old they were. They were also just not good. Wine was mediocre at best and served in tasting cups that not only didn't let them breathe, but were stupid hard to drink out of.

My girlfriend and I went on a Saturday evening. They had music and a nice lawn area with tables and chairs. $5.00 cover charge for music. Very enjoyable duo performing. Wine is great! Nice variety. Melange nice flavors for a red wine. Riesling is super...not too sweet but drier. Food was very tasty, too! Very relaxing night! Also a B and B.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a local winery where we could taste some wine, maybe purchase a bottle, and relax. Unfortunately we stopped here. Let me begin by saying that when we got there, we were greeting by the sounds of a guitar and singing from a lone musician. I've heard better music come from listening to two cats fights. His singing was as flat as my chest. After we ordered a flight of wine each, we were informed that there was a $5 each cover charge for the musician. This was a first for me. I've paid cover charges before, but it was for bands, at a bar, and they were good. For $10 this guy should have agreed to never sing again. The wine was lackluster at best. The Pinot Grigio tasted like someone had dipped a sweaty sock in some wine, and wrung it out into a glass of water. The Chardonnay was boring, with none of the oakiness you would expect. I had a difficult time picking out fruit in the merlot, and the Cabernet Sauvignon just plain hurt to drink. Pure gasoline. I rarely give bad reviews, and I've almost never met a wine I didn't at least have something good to say about. That being said, I never need to go back here.

Yelp
This place needs some fine-tuning in the hospitality department.  My fiancée and I met up with a friend here for an evening of drinks and shared appetizers (Mediterranean, served Friday and Saturday evenings).  The location of this place is great and shares the property with a B&B.  Therefore, you can order drinks and food and enjoy them wherever you want on the property. As we were catching up with a friend we hadn't seen in a while, we sat for several hours outside.  During this time we ordered more than $100 in wine and food and were among a small handful of visitors that evening.  There was conflicting information about what time the place closed; their website and social media had contradicting times.  Regardless, one of the servers/food-runners, a young gentleman, helped us close out our check at which time we asked when they close.  He informed us they'd be closing the kitchen and drink sales within the hour, but continued saying we could stay as long as we'd like since we were sitting outside.  Fast-forward about an hour an older gentleman, who was the bartender and I'm assuming the owner, came up to our group and said in an annoyed voice, "You needed to be out of here an hour ago.  So, you need to get going."  He then stood there and stared at us while we gathered our belongings, made our way to our cars, and drove away. Had it not been for this negative experience I would have gladly returned as everything else about this place is pretty great.  Management should make sure their hours on their website and social media match, and, most importantly, get their staff on the same page about the policy for visitors outside who aren't staying on the property.

Yelp
The wine tasting room is nice to just have a decent flight, plate to eat and sit with a friend. It's a pretty small room so I wouldn't recommend groups. The wine itself was pretty fair but I didn't find one I liked enough to buy a bottle.

Yelp
Stopped here on a whim. The gentleman, who was one of the owners, didn't seem very excited or enthused when we told him it was our first time visiting. As the place is also a bed and breakfast we made some general inquiries but he didn't seem to want to share much about it with us. The outdoor area was nice, with lots of seating options. The wines are definitely a dry selection so that's more of a matter of personal preference. They offered local craft beer if some in your party enjoy beer more than wine. Will we be back? Hard to say...

Yelp
Different than I thought. Read that there was music so wanted to stop in. It's a very intimate setting. Beautiful environment lending itself to a chill place for conversation and imbibes. Offers their own wines as well as local craft brews and crafted cocktails. The owners are very nice. Not a pretentious place. Would definitely return. Warm and inviting on a cold leap year day.

Yelp
Very romantic setting. Love that they give you all your selections for tasting, you can go outside and enjoy the beautiful grounds in s very relaxed setting. We have visited many wineries, we are always looking for the ambience to go along with the wine. Hands down best environment. Light menu is great, we didn't try any food as we had reservations. Gift shop had some unique items. We will be adding to favorite stops when visiting Lancaster County, think we'll be back tomorrow... Music outside was perfect for our liking. Thank you!!!

Yelp
Found this place on Groupon... had no idea ephrata had a Winery like this! It was very unique and a wide selection of wine and local beers. Owners are really nice to chat with. Highly recommend a reservation. Fun thing to do on a weekend afternoon if you are local. And they are open on Sundays!

Yelp
We enjoyed our Friday evening visit! It was fun to try your tasty wines and listen to live music. We were impressed with your selection!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food we had the sampler platter, chicken shawarma and the brisket along with frozen peach and Grigio slush is and a blueberry cooler-listened to the Harmony Brothers serenade us-very nice time-we'll be back soon!

Yelp
Was looking for a simple way to celebrate our anniversary and had decided on a winery that would have live music on Sunday. We were so glad we found Weathered Vineyards. The music was good, the wine was good and we also enjoyed food from Javateas. Although the outside in next to Route 322 it feels private because of the wall. Staff was nice and gave great service despite being busy. Can't wait to go back with friends to this gem.

Yelp
Great place! We loved the wine and also enjoyed the company our favorite wine was the Melange but we enjoyed trying all they had to offer in several flights. The service was spectacular!
