Google
I love this Market. I shopped there one time and I was hooked! The bakery, the selections period! the guacamole brownies organic options and heathly choices are great! Its like a small power packed store. Lol. Thanks also for the great service. Everyone is so helpful and pleasant.

Google
This store is awesome with a great selection of products. The missing star is due to the older woman at the register who chased me down and told me I had to leave because of my dog. I calmly explained he is a trained, certified psychological service animal. Instead of stopping there, she argued that he wasn’t a service animal because “service animals walk.” That is incorrect according to the ADA—service animals are not limited to guide dogs, and being carried does not disqualify them. Please focus on good customer service rather than making assumptions or offering personal opinions about customers’ disabilities. You were incredibly rude!

For the first time, I came into the store on Sunday. I love how it was small compared to other stores. As a vegan, I greatly appreciate the pies having a vegan label. I must request please put vegan labels on the ready to eat meals too. As someone who is also gluten free, a gluten free sticker on the ready to eat meals would be fantastic.

Google
Great store, wonderful fresh produce. Helpful and friendly staff. The wellness department is outstanding with knowledgeable people, Joy and Kelley! Nicely organized and arranged store so you can find products you're looking for as well as a very good selection. Love the fruits and vegetables and the local fresh meats. Always a pleasure to shop here.

Google
Awesome selection of fresh produce and breads. Great options for lunch or just grabbing a cup of coffee to go. Yummy baked goods as well.

Google
I mainly go for the Weaver-Made ready to eat food-- sandwiches, small quiches and chicken pot pies and single servings of pie, cake and other desserts. Also a good hot food bar. Great prices on spices and grains sold in bulk. If you need only a teaspoon of a spice you rarely use, you can buy a teaspoon for a few cents.

Google
Awesome COOP. Great selection, great food bar, great patio, great for community gathering, and samples. REALLY love this place c

Google
Great place for a quick stop and clean and well organized for a small grocery store. They still have prepared foods as well as a salad bar. Also still has many of the same organic products as the original Weaver Street, but just not as extensive. Also has a small cafe area. I truly dislike the parking situation in Southern Village though as I ran into some truly rude driving while there last.

Yelp
This is the best for produce in this area until you get to the Carrboro farmers market on Saturday. Also has the best organic meat section in that area. If you prefer organics, and are coming from the neighborhoods to the south, it's worth checking out. Drawbacks? It's small. Beer selection is mostly local. That's really it. Not cheap but fair for what you're getting.

Yelp
Overall, it's a good place if you'd like to buy produce and local product. As a note, I usually only come in for the prepared food and bakery items so this will be based off of those subjects. I love coming here for the variety of foods and desserts that they offer. And I've even gotten salad from the salad bar, which was quite good. It is however, quite expensive and not at all a place I would shop for actual groceries. My boyfriend wants bought a little bag of cookies for basically $12 and I was shocked at the price. Service kind of meh, I was once walking around for ages, trying to figure out where to put forks and spoons once being finished and there was really no one to help me. I also stood at the counter waiting to ask someone and basically got ignored (back hot food area). I'd really only be back for special foods and desserts on a rare occasion

Yelp
"Great Breakfast Spot!" Weaver Street Market's hot bar breakfast is fresh, delicious, and full of great options. The relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect place to start the day. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A friend of mine wanted a quick treat after dinner and this store was convenient and easy to get to. Weaver Street Market pretty much has anything you need. And they sell freshly made treats.
google avatar

Yelp
They can always be counted on for real food and good quality vegetables. I enjoyed my cup of hot tea.

Yelp
Weaver Street is a lifeline! I love this place, and the staff who work here. They carry a decent array of locally sourced, organic groceries! I also love that you can get some ethnic brands of frozen foods here including certain Asian and Indian ones that are hard to come by outside of ethnic grocery stores. The hot and cold bars have saved me on late nights after work! And the bakery has always satisfied my sweet tooth or (unnecessary) desire for fresh bread! The covered patio here is wonderful to work in or enjoy a meal/coffee at. They have a variety of drinks available to choose from! I do agree that it's not the cheapest place to shop, but it is definitely a nice, accessible perk for those who live in/around the Southern Village community. It's a fast place to get in and out of with some fresh food or a specific item without having to get in a long grocery line elsewhere.

Yelp
Traditional Carrboro supermarket, but this location is in Chapel Hill (there is also another branch in Hillsborough). Obviously the crowd isn't the same but the quality and services are up to the Weaver Street Market standard. What I like the most about this is that the products are fresh, local and mostly organic! You can decide to grab a bite or drink a coffee at the outside seating area, and perhaps meet some locals. The wine selection is OK and you can laugh with some of the quotes written on the blackboard just above the shelf.

Yelp
Super fear based staff. Have barely gone since covid started, because it is hard to see eyes go wide w fear upon entering. Pandemic long passed. Endemic here. Hummus good.

Brian M.

Yelp
Amazingly they have all the essentials you would need like a larger chain grocery store.

Gus B.

Yelp
Service and quality has gone down while prices go up. They continue to have good suppliers but never order enough, have empty fresh produce/meat shelves frequently and have high mark ups. You can buy direct from most of their best suppliers at much cheaper prices with shipping included. Their organic fresh produce is poor quality. While some of the staff are friendly they have several really rude employees that cannot conceal their politics and/or negative attitudes. We just want to shop, not hear a political sermon. We have stopped shopping here altogether.

Yelp
Reliable source of freshly baked focaccia bread! Love coming in here for the bulk section and the produce!

Yelp
What a weird venue. It's Stepford Wives, who are wannabe hippies, who are also socker moms. They like to wear yoga pants and talk about health food and they enjoy being vegetarians. Not really my crowd. The food is uber expensive. The selection is just "fair". The parking situation isn't bad, but it's kind of weird and awkward. The aisles are small and it always seems crowded in there, with very little room to move. I haven't been to the other Weaver Street market locations, but perhaps they are a little bit better? I guess if you like a small selection of pricey food that is designed for gluten-free vegans, then this wouldn't be so bad.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
I love this place! They always have fresh produce and I find a lot of specialty diet foods that I can't find at the grocery store. The staff is also very friendly.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Weaver Street for over twenty years and love that they've been so successful to not only open another location, but two!! This one in Southern Village seemed like an odd placement, but not only does it work, they even expanded it a few years ago. Certainly not a big as their main store, this smaller version still has an ample selection of dry and canned goods, fresh produce and the like, as well as a hot and cold bar and coffee and tea to go. Great place to get a healthy sandwich too! Can you open one in my neighborhood too??!!

NEIL G.

Yelp
Pre-Covid it used to be nice to buy a bagel, then toast it and enjoy it with cream cheese - right there at Weaver Street. Returning to normal is occurring slowly here and is focused on accommodating the most fearful, while projecting a bit of guilt towards those who may now choose to not wear a mask. Indoor seating is nowhere to be seen (welcome to July) , the toaster, etc is probably plastered with hazmat labels somewhere and I think that I was the only maskless person in the store on Thursday. It was entertaining watching customers divert their route to avoid walking past me, but the employees were all friendly. Operating policy seems to still lag behind science and common sense.

Yelp
Co-op grocery store: good produce, interesting beer aisle, organic-y stuff taht you wouldn't find in a normal grocer store. Got it. That's the Weave. It's the instant gratification stuff that you want to know about. What can they do for you now? Well, they have the hot bar, if you're looking to pop in for a quick and cheap lunch. Whatever variety of roasted chicken they have is normally good, but too many trips in a row and it will all start to blend together. I know people who swear that samosa day at the Weave is "the best thing ever." High praise indeed. If you need a quick pick-me-up, they normally have a specialty coffee along with the classic stuff. You're rolling the dice on the specialty coffee if Blake isn't your barista on that day. Also, grabbing a cookie while you're there probably would do your mood a world of good. The peanut butter ones are the best and go quite well with a late cup of coffee.

Yelp
I was visiting my sister for the Labor Day weekend and came in to check this place out, excited about the whole co-op model. Mom and I just wanted coffee and they were out. The lady behind the bar seemed busy and could only tell us in a "it is what it is attitude" and that it would be a "minute." On the surface this is not a bad response, but it could have been delivered with a better vibe or optimism, especially as more people kept coming up to the single option, disappointed by an empty tap. I took the initiative to turn the empty coffee container around, to save others the disappointment. I then proceeded to grab some tea, since something told me it'd be more than a "minute" before the coffee would be ready... All this to say...this place is probably wonderful and deserves accolades on other fronts like food and organic products, but for coffee/tea bar customer service...I would just say, manage your expectations.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Not too big and not too small. The staff are extremely kind and helpful. The have an abundance of organic and vegan options. They just started carrying SILK chocolate milk now which is awesome. They have the beyond burgers too. Their hot bar is good as well. Had their jerk chicken one night and it was definitely a must have again. I will continue to come here.

Yelp
Love this place, even if I don't necessarily love the prices...and I go far more often than is healthy for my wallet! Great cold and hot bars (though I would love to see more soup options on a regular basis ;) ) with plenty of tasty vegetarian and vegan options that even us meat-eaters can get on board with! The kids I nanny will ONLY eat weaver street bread and as such I've developed quite a taste for it as well and no wonder because it is DELICIOUS. The beer and wine selection is killer and I love having access to growlers a mere block from my home. Also, pretty much everyone who works there is super nice, friendly, and funny, the cashiers always manage to get me to laugh on my way out. Great little neighborhood grocery store with a nice little outdoor area to enjoy a beer and some of the tasty treats you bought inside.

Yelp
Weaver Street Market also has a whole bunch of other great things: - An excellent wine selection, particularly cheaper wines (yay Malbec and currently $4 chardonnary!) - A decent fruit and veggie section - Good takeout and "drink beer on the lawn area" out goodness. Hence, I'm updating to a 5. This is a great market to get what you need if you're looking for organic or other food-related items that you can't find in Harris Teeter.
google avatar

Yelp
I always come hoping for more. I love the ambiance, I really do!! But beyond that, it's expensive and I'm just not crunchy enough to buy all the fancy organic, non gluten, never been touched by a human/ straight from mother nature herself food. Okay, I'm going too far, but y'all it's food, not diamonds!! Why so pricey. Ouch.

Mary J.

Yelp
My mother experienced terrible service when shopping here today. She just got crutches, and was attempting to navigate the store. She said that employees watched or ignored her when she struggled with basic grocery duties. She had to request help a few times. She also noticed that customers avoided her. She expressed surprise at such behavior since the store advertises itself as a place for do-gooders.
google avatar

Denise D.

Yelp
I love WSM! It's my go-to place for almost everything. All of the employees are super nice and knowledgable, and the store is very well-kept. They have a great selection of items, including baked goods, and a great hot bar.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Best.Grocery.Store.Ever. I happily spend almost 25% of my paycheck each month at this place. The hot bar is great (breakfast and lunch), their salad bar is spectacular, they have a great selection of tasty foods for diabetics and gluten-free diets, and their meat and produce are always high-quality. For what you get, they're a much better deal than Whole Foods or Fresh Market. For anyone with diet restrictions or if you're just trying to eat better, you HAVE to try this place out.
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
It's a grocery store that you can drink beer out front of. I once saw a young man drinking sake , but I don't know if that's approved. They have a lot of unique products that you won't find at other grocery stores and it has a very local feel.

Adam S.

Yelp
The staff here are awesome. So nice and helpful. Absolutely nothing like the couldn't care less high school kids you find at other grocery stores. They have a good selection of most things. You can take a good bet that everything in the store has been properly produced, ethically raised, and has 'real' ingredients. Lot's of good pre-packaged meals/sandwiches to get. Lot's of local food...It's kinda cool knowing that my milk comes from Maple View right down the road, for example. They have a hot bar, salad bar, and coffee bar. Places to sit outside or inside and eat. Only gripe I have is with the medicine/cosmetic/household items isle. Went up there looking for floss my first month living here...Only thing I could find was something that seemed to be a $10 tin of vegan floss hand spun from seaweed by union workers in Carrboro. I'm exaggerating but you get the idea. Alternative-eco-medicine (and cosmetics, paper products, etc..) is just not my thing. But I can't really fault them for providing what the organic food crowd tends to want -- just something I personally wish was different.

Yelp
First i would like to say the employees are very friendly. As far as a co-op grocery store goes, it has everything there is to offer, but I mainly go here for their hot bar. I work in southern village and love the idea of having a healthier choice for lunch or dinner. However, this location rarely has new menu items. Also minus around 12pm or 5pm their food does not look fresh. I have seen them poor hot water in some of their dishes to make it look more fresh and not dried out. To me this makes the food taste watered down. The hot bar is just not near as good as the other locations. I wish they would talk to the chief and fix this, so I could have more options then sushi.
google avatar

Henry S.

Yelp
Compared to the Weaver Street Market in Carrboro, this one pales in comparison. While probably created more for the residents of Southern Village, the small size limits the product offering. It is still a co-op grocery store, and because of that, you find great food at great prices. It is also a bit messy like the original Weaver Street, but it adds to the character of the store. If driving here, take the time and go to the one in Carrboro, but if you live next to this one, it's not a bad alternative.
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
The second co-op grocery store in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, this Weaver Street Market is smaller than its sister in Carrboro but has all of your eco-friendly, organic essentials. The daily hot and cold bar is consistently great. A wonderful option for last minute dinners and late night ice-cream cravings.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
LOVE! I came here frequently on my visit to the Chapel Hill area. It is such a cozy, unique place with lots of quality and organic type products. Probably not the place you want to pick up cheap groceries. Similar to a Whole Foods but smaller, with a more community feel to it.
google avatar

Scott K.

Yelp
I am a fan of Weaver Street Market. Weaver Street Market is a locally owned co-op grocery store much like Whole Foods and The Fresh Market. Meaning it is owned by consumers or producers. Weaver Street is a hybrid co-op owned by users and workers. Both having a say in how the business is operated and what is sold. Weaver Street Market has focused on providing local produce and goods when possible while maintaining environmentally friendly and promoting Fair Trade practices. Many products here are GMO (genetically modified foods) free, organic, sustainable and sold in recycled products. This location in Chapel Hill's Southern Village is smaller than the location in Carrboro but does have indoor and outdoor seating available if you wish to purchase and consume on site. Weaver Street does sell many items in bulk like cereals, nuts, spices, coffee beans. What you wont see at Weaver Street are many products you could take for granted at other national grocery chains.

Jenny S.

Yelp
The best, friendliest, neighborhood grocery store! We love you and all of your staff. You go out of your way to help every time.

Candice G.

Yelp
pretty pricy but a really sweet wholesome environment with nourishing tasty food

Rashid M.

Yelp
This is an ideal destination for environmental friendly people, who want to have healthy food.
