Yelp
I'm impressed by the top quality of the produce and sliced veggies, fluffy bread and pastries, soft tortillas, flavorful veggie burgers, delicious prepared veggies full of flavor, large selection of cheese, and variety of vegetarian and meat dishes, and even chocolate dipped strawberries for Valentine's Day. Wegmans has everything you need - totally worth the 25 minute drive from McLean!
If you can't commit to a full loaf, there's plenty of 1/2 loaves of bread. - the fresh Rosemary bread and fluffy whole wheat tortillas are always on my grocery list. The bread and tortilla have a much longer shelf life of around 5 days compared to the rolls which get stale and rock hard after a day.
My hubby loves the marinated meats and seafood: Filet mignon, Chicken with Marsala sauce, Teriyaki Chicken, Italian seasoned Chicken, Salmon Pesto, Salmon with Lemon Pepper Rub, Tuna Tataki power meal. He enjoys the prepackaged meals and throws them in the oven for 45 minutes. The cuts of the filet mignon is pretty impressive and his favorite of all of the meats.
Lots of fresh healthy vegetarian options: Southwest Black Bean Burgers, Veggie Burgers, Mushroom Burger, Tofu wraps, Avocado Rolls, Quinoa Garden Vegetable Roll Sushi, Seaweed salad, and Tempeh power bowls.
The fresh Southwest Black Bean Burgers are packed with flavor and loaded with beans and veggies. The Mushroom and Veggie burgers are mushy and don't cook as well. The burgers keep well for a week (even after they expire!)
The prepared veggies are bursting with flavor! I love the Honey Roasted Carrots, Soy Mushrooms, Parmesan Cauliflower, and the Brussel Sprouts. I'm not a big fan of the Sauteed Kale or the Broccolini.
The fresh Pesto sauce and Alfredo Sauces are delicious! The Wegman brand of fettucini is delicious and cooks al dente is 2-3 min. I wasn't a big fan of the Eggplant Parm ravioli.
Spicy Thai Red Curry and Mushroom Dash simmer sauces are bursting with flavor. They pair well with the Wegman's Whole Wheat noodles and Zucchini noodles. The Black Bean dip is also quite tasty!
Fresh prepared food - recommend eating within a day. The Avocado Roll is my favorite. I wasn't a big fan of the Tempeh Power Bowls, the bowl was packed with rice. I would skip the ginormous bland Portabella Cheese Pizza, the mushroom pizza was overloaded with cheese with a couple of skimpy pieces of basil.
My favorite sweet treats from the self-serve area: Ultimate Chocolate Cheesecake, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Cookie Monster sugar cookie, Cookie Sandwich oozing with buttercream and drizzled with chocolate, the shortbread cookie with a Raspberry filling, and resh juicy chocolate dipped strawberry around Valentine's Day are among my favorites. Not a big fan of the Killer Cookie Dough Brownie, way tooooo sweet with a dense layer of gooey cookie dough.
The cakes are divine particularly the ganache filling! I love the vanilla buttercream cake and the cookie cake!
The hot bar has too many trays of food to choose from! Although I'm impressed by the variety of salad toppings with farro, quinoa, cous cous, and fresh veggies, some are better than others. I enjoyed the Jewel Orso, Potato Au Grain (dense and flavorful), and let's not forget about the mac and cheese! The orzo soups is pretty tasty.
The shelves of local and imported cheeses got you covered to make your own cheese board. The Havarti with Horseradish, Chevre goat cheese, and Truffle Cheese from Tuscany are among my favorites.
As it gets crazy crowded over the weekend, I recommend coming during the weekdays or the evenings. It's definitely worth the trip, I love making the haul from McLean to stock up and enjoy a cookie on the road!
