Dan Barber’s Row 7 Seeds Will Bring Produce to Wegmans | Eater

"This longstanding Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic supermarket chain, founded in Rochester in 1916 and operating roughly 101 stores, has a reputation for leading on produce and testing new varieties at scale. It trialed orange badger flame beets on seven acres at its organic farm, used select stores and prominent in‑store signage and trained “produce ambassadors” to educate customers, and then rolled the beets into permanent assortment after strong consumer response. The chain’s infrastructure and grower network were instrumental in moving novel vegetables from niche markets into regular retail shelves, though critics note that typical grocery assortments still include many out‑of‑season imports and limited local options." - Lisa Elaine Held

From Publix to H-E-B, Americans Are Obsessed With Grocery Stores | Eater

"Based in Rochester, this supermarket chain inspires intense, almost cult-like loyalty; shoppers have driven long distances to visit and media coverage framed fans as fervent. The chain is prized for high-quality, thoughtfully curated goods that feel like affordable luxury and for creating a full-service, social shopping experience rather than a simple errand." - Jaya Saxena

Google
I recently visited WEGMANS, a grocery store in Rochester, and I was thoroughly impressed. The presentation of the products is outstanding, making for a delightful shopping experience. They offer a diverse range of goods at competitive prices, catering to the needs of every household.

Google
Wegmans is by far the best grocery chain for me! This particular store is relatively medium in size, but despite this you will find everything you need. Many thanks to the flower department staff! They are always friendly and helpful and happy to help!

Google
I was actually surprised to find mold on many of the fresh fruits. The strawberrys should have all been removed and half of the blueberries were dried out and old. The prices for most items seemed inflated for a small city.

Google
I grew up in Wegmans country. Always love shopping there when I visit. It's become more "big box" in some ways, and it's becoming hard to find name brand items as they have their own brand products now, which is excessive. There is no way I could bring home generic mayo or ketchup, and often, I couldn't find the brands I prefer on the shelves - either Wegmans doesn't carry them anymore, or they've sold out of the limited quantities they may have. They still offer a variety of fresh, local produce and have a great "food court" to purchase a variety of fresh meals and carry-out family dinners. Still love the place.

Google
very clean store! it's my first time shopping at a Wegman's store since I'm not from the area and I was taken aback by how clean and nice everything is from inside. They've got a nice deli and pastry section. Friendly staff as well.

Google
My experience with my cashier Devin was outstanding. I was visiting from Florida with family and needed some things from the grocery store. Mr Devin was very respectful, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. The store was very clean and the food was fresh. We spoke with a manager about Mr. Devin has outstanding customer service and did not want to leave Wegmans without giving him recognition. Great job, team!!!

Google
Wegmans seems to be cutting back on their cakes. Their carrot cakes used to have frosting on the sides, but now it's gone. The ultimate white cake once had a thick layer of buttercream, but now it's much thinner. I’ve decided to stop buying Wegmans cakes, as they no longer feel as high-quality as they used to. It's disappointing, but I’ll always appreciate the great cakes they once had. Oh well, great things don’t last forever. I’ll treasure the memories of their delicious cakes and look forward to baking my own from now on.

Google
Buddy but plus of check out available always a plus! Don't things at Wegmans are expensive and some things are not. But so clean and sheets friendly. My mom down South and she misses Wegmans terribly

Yelp
Every Wegmans is different. The East Ave is walking distance for me, so I visit it most often. The coffee bar was renovated recently as was the self-checkout setup, and both work well. Overall I like this store; part of that is for its familiarity. However, it has a few downsides. The pasta stocked is limited, and in other categories Wegmans' private label items are pushed as well. I don't mind that, but you're not going to find DeCecco pasta here, and the premium Wegmans brand of pasta, Amore, is not equivalent to DeCecco. Every so often, items from the Pittsford megastore make their way to the East Ave store. Recently mini sfogliatelle were added to the grab-and-go cookie case. They're a hit in Pittsford and I'm glad this store has them, at least for now. Sometimes the layout changes and they experiment with features in the bakery and grab-and-go area. For a while there was a salad station that has since been offboarded. If you only stop in occasionally the layout may have shifted. The core of the store is tight. Even if you know where you're going you will generally take a few extra minutes making it through the store. A major Wegmans problem is the downgrade in quality and increase in price of most prepared items. If you use the Wegmans app you can clip some quality coupons. The staff here is nice and there are a fee standout long-time employees. The parking lot is not ideal. I'm accustomed to it, but some days are more challenging than others. The issue at hand is your fellow shoppers.

Yelp
The prepared food has become pricey for the portions. The sushi portions also have declined. The produce is nothing like it used to be. Everything is rock hard, second rate and not ready to consume. As for general groceries and sundries you will find empty shelves, price gauging and inconsistent stock. Disappointing!
google avatar

Yelp
I used to love Wegmans, but c'mon, people. Wegmans brand food has dropped in quality and gone up in price. I guess you can do that when you're the only game in town, or you think you are. They're doing away with anything that's not Wegmans brand. I've also price checked, Wegmans isn't saving you a dime over Whole Foods. Some things cost more at While Foods, others cost more at Wegmans. Why is Wegmans so dark? Brown and orange is terrible.

Yelp
Shame on you wegmans charging people 15.03 for a delivery of meds. My car is not working and I do not have the money to pay for this. I am banning wegmans for now on.

Yelp
I purchased a large chicken ranch and bacon sub from the sub shop at the Chili Paul store. As the sub was being made I noticed the chicken being used wasn't seasoned or marinated in anything. I was concerned that the sub would be bland, and I was right. Even though I added the ranch dressing, peppers, onion and cheese, all I could taste was the plain, (boiled?) chicken. I ate a quarter of the large sub, and then the rest went into the trash. Wegmans, when using plain chicken in a sub, do something to make it more favorable.... Grill it in one of your many marinades, anything to provide flavor. Probably the worst sub I've ever eaten in my 70 years.

Yelp
I just moved to Rochester and was excited to have a Wegmans to shop. I now dread to go there. The store layout and narrow aisles force people to squeeze by each other. Shoppers (the important, busy ones) are in a hurry and you're in their way. The employees (and there are many) never interact with shoppers. Nothing feels welcoming. The selection is limited. Prepared foods are often not fresh and the plastic waste to package all the prepared foods is off the charts. Pet peeve: They don't carry 2 liter bottles of sparking water, just 1 liter. Why? More cost. More waste. I'm very disappointed.

Yelp
This is my home Wegmans and pharmacy and also my second home? Just kidding...kind of. I really am here 3+ times a week grabbing dinner supplies, popping in for something quickly, or picking up a prescription. As this is now the only grocery store within the downtown footprint, it gets dicey at peak hours. The parking lot always has and forever will be a hellscape nightmare, and navigating through aisles on a Sunday morning can bring out the worst in a person. However, the staff is magnificent, the lines always move fairly fast, and their more private cafe area is a wonderful place to kill time, have a quick lunch, and meet up somewhere central. I once had a suchi employee walk me allllll the way over to the bamboo mats and tell me all of the ingredients they use in their sushi so I could DIY at home. As with all Wegmans, customer service is at the forefront of every interaction. It's like Disney, but better. I live in an odd spot where I am equidistant to this wegs, Ridge Rd, and Baytowne - but this is always my first pick. I love the city vibe and the people watching and...if I am being honest, the fact that there are less children in this Wegmans at any given time than almost any other Wegmans in the...country? More of a young professional vibe than a family vibe, for sure. Can't wait for my next trip (likely tomorrow knowing my habits...)

Yelp
I just don't get the hype about Wegman's. It's very expensive, the aisles are narrow and everyone is constantly saying "excuse me" trying to get around other shoppers, there are so many things piled up in all parts of the store that it's hard to even negotiate with a cart. During exactly zero of my visits has even one employee offered to help me find anything. It's just another grocery store to me.
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
We stopped by around 10pm and there were no crowds. The five of us walked around the huge store with our eyes wide open seeing all the wonderful products to choose from. This was our favorite market to shop at because of the variety of things to buy.

Yelp
I have shopped at Wegmans stores for over 50 years. And for the most part I have few complaints. And when I have had a complaint, the customer service desk has taken care of it. But I have noticed in recent years that there are employees employed there that don't seem to care about the customer, or they're preoccupied. Not to say this doesn't happen in other companies, but Wegmans is a traditional family store, and when it comes to "customer relations", I think there could be an improvement made in training in this area. A simple smile, hello goes along ways.

Paola M.

Yelp
Every product and brand that you can imagine ñ, you can find here. Clean, organized, and ample, with many prepared food options.
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
This is one of the smaller Wegmans in the area, so it does not have as large a selection as some of the others. When they set it up for social distancing, the aisles all had to be one way because they are narrow. That made it a bit difficult to navigate. They seem to have moved away from that now. They have the usual selection of things you would find at Wegmans and the quality is good and the prices are generally reasonable. I usually go to the larger Wegmans, but sometimes this one is useful if I just need a few things.
google avatar

Kari C.

Yelp
I'm just not impressed with this Wegmans location. Firstly, the grocery section is small and limited. Secondly, more than any other Wegmans, you're likely to be racially profiled in this store location. I know this to be true, first hand. Security will overtly follow you around, if you fit their small-minded stereotype. Avoid this one, if you plan on doing extensive grocery shopping because you'll probably have to go to a 'regular' Wegmans anyway. Not feeling the climate of this store in 2021. Do better Wegmans.
google avatar

Kenya M.

Yelp
If I'm in East Ave Weggies, then one of two things is happening: I'm killing time before I'm supposed to be somewhere or I forgot to get something I was supposed to take somewhere. This Wegman's is nice. However, the parking lot is a hot mess. It's also organized in a way that I can never really understand. I usually stick to the bakery, the produce and the prepared food in this store. Grab and go stuff.
google avatar

Aimee F.

Yelp
Great variety and easy to find things. Does get a little crowded since this is one of the smallest Wegmans I've been to.

Yelp
How can you live in Rochester and NOT be a fan of Wegs? I agree that at times they do not carry all the brands I want, but you cannot beat their hours and their location on East Ave (though the parking can be a bit dicey....) And while I am generally a fan, and a customer, of all the area locations (Big Wegs in Pittsford, Perinton Wegs, Henrietta Wegs, Chili Wegs), the one I shop most often is just down the street from my house on East Ave. Lately, I have been loving the increased amount of organic and local veggies and fruit for sale when you first walk in. I am still upset that their selection of sauerkrauts seems to have disappeared, but the artisanal cheeses, the olive bar, the expanded natural foods section, the bevy of bulk nuts and the selection of teas are all great. And, just in time for the holidays (though these things are on offer all the time), they have a nice little selection of Rochester merch at the front of the store: postcards, magnets, mugs, tshirts and sweatshirts. I have bought many an item for friends visiting Roch, or moving away from the area, and I am always glad they are open and there is a selection to choose from, especially when I am in a pinch. I definitely recommend checking them out and looking at their merch if you are in need of such a gift!

Yelp
As a true Rochestarian, Wegmans is not just a grocery store, but a lifestyle. Every time someone visits I take them specifically just to Wegmans to get that experience. The East Ave Wegmans has a lot to offer for prepared food and for packaged food. Pictured here is the Buffalo chicken pizza from the pizza station. It truly rivals some of the great pizza in the area, and is the perfect size if you are super hungry or want to split it with a friend. I also highly recommend the subs (the signature oil is THE BEST). I frequently get food from Wegmans, and I highly recommend it as a great place for lunch or dinner!
google avatar

Marissa N.

Yelp
I don't love this location I find their selection limited even after they rebuilt it. The aisles are thin and hard to manuver alongside other people. Recently they put in the self checkout option, many of them. I'm not a fan, a want an employee, I want a local someone to have a job. If I'm doing the work that the company is no longer providing as a service then pay me.

Yelp
Loved Wegmans for a long time but over the past 6 months have noticed that the experience due to their cashiers has become unpleasant. On multiple occasions I noticed that I was charged for the wrong produce upon my return home. It's like the only thing they know how to do is ring up one product and don't bother to inspect it for the type. For example I usually pick up Roma tomatoes and seem to always be charge for vine on tomatoes. I was even charged for Italian parsley instead of oregano. I didn't care enough to go back but the biggest thing that bothers me is that most of the young cashiers now don't even thank you. They just hand you the receipt and expect you to be on your way. Look forward to the opening of Whole Foods so I can get an alternate place to shop.

Yelp
It's Wegmans. However it's my least fav one to go to solely because of the parking lot. I feel like I'm playing a game of Death when attempting to park and a game of Frogger when walking in or out. Inside, it was redone several years ago. But it feels like Wegmans paid more attention to the eat-in areas and the prepared foods than the actual shopping aisles. Shopping here feels almost as bad as parking outside. The aisles are cramped and hard to navigate during busy times. That being said, I still shop here if I need something and I'm close by. But, I will choose other locations over this one every time.
google avatar

Charmaine M.

Yelp
There are sooo many store made goodies here. From desserts, to sushi, to subs. This is the grocery store you want to go to if you want hot foods, cold foods, regular groceries, and those random ingredients you may be looking for. Clean store, friendly staff. Def recommend the sushi!!
google avatar

Taylor O.

Yelp
Wegmans isn't my favorite grocery store because the prices are relatively higher than other stores and now they moving to only sell their products. And some of those items I don't like. However, I do like their personally made things; cheese dip, donuts, subs. So I will adventure into here on occasion for one of those items. This Wegmans in particular was our stop before going to the in-laws house. For some reason they never get everything they need and call us to stop on our way over. This store always seems over crowded with people. I also feel like I escape death at least three times in the parking lot because it is so chaotic and crowded. Not my favorite Wegmans of the bunch that's for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Wegmans is a dream for people who love cooking their meals. It is an awesome supermarket for people who want to buy a ready-to-eat meal as well. I bet people meet the girl or guy of their dreams here. There is nothing to despise about this place. Neat. Organized. Delicious. Any food item you can get and more. When you are not sure where something is, the workers are more than happy to help you without skipping a beat. I was thinking the same thing my parents were thinking. If they made the second floor bigger, then we could live here and go to Wegmans anytime we wanted! I, no, we* love this place. *By we, I mean everyone I know that lives in ROC.

Yelp
Really great store! I worked at Whole Foods for awhile and now work for a cheese distributor in WA. The sushi selection is the best at the best prices I've had at a grocery store. I didn't particularly like the spicy pork buns, but different folks different strokes. The bakery was beautiful and their cakes, macarons, and GF products were delicious. And omg the Wegmans brand k-cups .... I put a bunch in my suitcase to take back to WA!! This will definitely be the store I shop at every time I come back to visit Rochester, which will be a couple times a year. (Also, they have a few imported cheeses that I can't get at my job. How?!?! I'm looking at you, midnight moon and lamb chopper....)
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
Wow. Wegmans did a great job of not raising their prices during the recession. Of this fact they are so very proud. But holy Cow are they making up for it now. In one month I've watched their prepared foods jack up between $1 & $3 per item. I guess for your best (which is sub par often) you have to a premium. Well I'm done no more groceries at wegmans.
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
I mean it's Wegmans so is obviously great, this 4 store is simply compared to other Wegmans in the area. What I love about this Wegmans, well it's 2 mins down the road from Nana's so I stop here before or after dropping off the kids. I could not imagine bringing a kid into this Wegmans, too small and cramped and nothing on the shelf's would be safe from their hands being that the aisles are so narrow. So location is a perk. And their cookies in the bakery, or simply the tasty treats in the bakery. My regular shopping Wegmans is Eastway and their cookie selection and dessert selection is not as great as this smal Wegmans. I always get some assorted cookies cause Wegmans make delicious cookies, like Cookie Monster level quality cookies. Any who, their beer selection is pretty good too. It is a bit tight back there and I always feel like I'm in someone's way but I like the variety they have and I always seem to find something that they don't carry at my Wegmans. They also have a ton of self checkout, so I use that scan app, walk up to self checkout, scan that barcode swipe my card and then leave while people just wait in long cashier lines. Now what I wish they had: I wish they had builta pedestrian walkway in the middle of parking lot walking up to Wegmans kinda like target has. The amount of times I almost get hit by cars in that lot is scary and I would certainly feel more comfortable with a designated walkway. More scales in the produce section, seems like I'm Always waiting for one or walking back and forth to the one that's open. Now even though they do have a smaller selection that other Wegmans they do still manage to carry a lot, maybe just less of a particular product in able to fit more stuff on the shelf. But just use the Wegmans app first to check and see if that store carries it and where it is cause it is not set up like the one you are probably use to. Use the tools they give you so you can get in and out quicker.

Yelp
Waaaahhh. It's too crowded. Whaaaah. There's not enough parking. Waaahhhh. --the critics. C'mon ya big babies. It's not crowded because people hate it. It's crowded because it's a good place to shop. The staff is great. The shopping carts don't go *bump*bump*bump* when you push them or have one wheel that shimmies like a dancer in a Manila sailor's bar. Waahhh. The parking lot is dangerous to walk across. WHAT?! Did you get mugged? Is it poorly lit? No. People screaming at their kids strapped in the back seat? Talking on the phone? What, exactly is your problem with the parking lot? People's behavior isn't the store's responsibility. The DO have a policeman there during busy hours. He will hand you a free mask as you enter if you left yours in the car that you parked taking up two spaces. You know it's so crowded nobody goes there anymore.--Yogi Berra I'm a fan. I am, as you can tell by my rude and belligerent prose, a recent import from California, where supermarkets are either in a race to the bottom, quality wise, or you'll drop your whole paycheck for a week's worth of groceries and they are crowded to boot. Out there, I've seen security guards throw flying tackles at shoplifters dashing out the front door with arms full of loot. You know--like CVS on Monroe. ;-) This is East Avenue Wegmans. Great store. Fresh produce, good sushi, wonderful baked goods, deli, coffee bar. It's CLEAN. It's well-lighted. They sanitize it every night. Helpful and courteous staff. What do you want, a back rub? Wake up and smell the coffee, you critics. You are spoiled. Shame. Shame. Shame. No ice cream for you today. Go shopping at Tops. Then come crawling back, peasant. Those of us who've suffered under Safeway, Luckys, Albertsons and their ilk will pinch themselves to see if they're dreaming.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my usual Wegmans. It's very adequate. Usually has what I need, and it has a convenient location (only one in the city, shame on the corporation). Good produce and cheese selections, but fairly small. One-way aisles during COVID due to the crowdedness, which makes it somewhat unpleasant to deal with, so my roommate and I are often going elsewhere (especially for variety), but once the world returns to normal, we'll return to East Ave.
google avatar

Maureen Molly K.

Yelp
So why was all proud of Danny for getting rid of the plastic grocery bags? Because now he's wrapping all his chicken in hard plastic, Just like the plastic that toys come wrapped in that are really hard to get open. When I said something about it the meat manager told me it was recyclable so it was okay. We all know it's not okay. It all ends up in the ocean. So much for Wegmans being in the Environmental movement.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
No accepting returns? They will sell you beer in deposit bottles, but they won't give you the nickel back if you return those bottles to the store. Or, they might. Depends on the day I guess. They were getting new machines, so the recycle room was closed. No sweat, I took my bottles in to the service desk, like in the olden days. Nope, not accepting them there either. To which I say, what the hell Wegmans. That is some straight up bullshit, because it means I have to drag my bottles home and then trot them out another day, you just gave me an extra errand I don't have time for. I don't know if it's legal to refuse bottle returns, but it sure is a nifty little middle finger to your customers. Well hey, right back at ya east ave wegs.
google avatar

Jeffey D.

Yelp
A crowded supermarket. Small parking lot , quite dangerous to walk across. The pharmacy and the pharmacy home delivery are very poorly coordinated. Quality of produce is just fair, prices are high. They never have good fresh basil so you'll need to seek that elsewhere at a place like Trader Joes. It's either a good store or not I rate it on the 'not' side,
google avatar

Sweta K.

Yelp
Love this Wegmans because it is open 24/7 and close to home. Dislike: parking lot during busy hours.
google avatar

Samantha O.

Yelp
Wegmans... Let's talk. Thank you for keeping at least one store towards the food desert otherwise known as center city. That being said, all you clowns getting salad at the salad bar/hot food bar, stop!!!! Go to the part where the sushi area used to be where they will make you a salad Chipotle/corelife eatery style and even toss it for you (you get to choose light medium or heavy dressing) and it's only $8!!! Because let's face it $9.99 a pound is robbery, even Whole Foods in San Francisco was only $8.99 a pound. So go get a delicious mixed salad that weighs way more than one pound and will basically suffice as lunch for at least two days and thank me later

Daryl W.

Yelp
Good quality good customer service and so much faster than tops if you're doing quick shopping or big shopping you can get in and out unlike tops where if you even buy something small and the cashier's take 10-15 minutes to cash you out much better than tops
google avatar

Yelp
Its Wegmans.. but this is East Ave... the parking is wonky, the people who work here are cool and they have just about everything but they don't. (Other locations do and yes Pittsford the flag ship have frigging everything) A lot of people from Harris come for coffee, lunch and etc. I call this a commuter store. Why cause everyone from work comes here and it's always busy! It's too bad they don't have a location nearer downtown but whatever. Its Wegmans enough said, good food, parking, cookies oh my.. party on
google avatar

Mary P.

Yelp
Stopped into the cafe for lunch today with my kids. It's definitely a very busy location, The cafe has everything you could want. For $4.99, their "Kids Meal" at the sandwich shop is a bargain. Small sub of their choice, animal crackers, fruit, and a juice box. All of their sandwiches are great and for myself today I opted for a small Roasted Veggies on Ciabatta. Their Ciabatta is AWESOME!!! The Roasted Veggies are great, with just the right amount of balsamic dressing. A nice variety too. I had eggplant, carrots, peppers, etc. I'm a fan! My main concern with the East Avenue Location in general is the crazy parking lot. People drive like LUNATICS in this parking lot, so please be extra cautious.

Sara L.

Yelp
I love wegmans but the parking lot here is literally a 3D anxiety experience. Such narrow lanes and way too hard to park. Also this Wegmans is really busy but just not big enough. Constantly running into people inside the store. Forget coming here between 4-6 PM any day of the week! Wish it was bigger
google avatar

Lindsay R.

Yelp
I LOVE Wegmans, but this one might as well be Walmart. It does have less selection and is smaller than most but that's not the problem. The employees here are TERRIBLE. They are rude, careless, and inept. Not all of them, to be fair there are many who do care. The coffee shop is always efficient and friendly and whenever I've been in late at night the cashiers are great. Otherwise, not so much; and it's getting worse. It used to be every other time I went in here (it's closest to my house) I'd have a mediocre to bad experience, lately it's been every time. Over and over again cashiers just don't acknowledge you AT ALL while you're standing right in front of them & they're scanning your groceries, even if you ask them how they are & try to be nice! I'm not a people person, I'm not one of those outgoing sometimes annoying people who wants to make everyone their new friend, but I was in service for 20 years so I try to be kind and personable with people who working and helping me, no dice here. They simply do not engage and for many of them their incompetence and indifference borders on negligence. Last week I had a cashier ignore me, acting weird and distracted while she scanned my slice of pizza, her light was flashing and when the manager came over she had forgotten why, then suddenly remembered (while I had to look around her to see how much I owed because she never told me) "oh yeah can I go wash my hands, I got sushi juice all over them", she says as she- still without looking at me- hands me my ready to eat food and change. There was sanitizer right there; I was disgusted. I have nothing against sushi but I'm not sure what this juice was or why she continued to touch my food or the money I handed her if she thought this to be a problem... I worked for Wegmans as my first job and the standards of this location are SO FAR below what the company stands for it would be comical if it wasn't so frustrating. If Danny Wegman actually experienced this store as it is he would shut it down so fast and retrain the whole place...

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I'm from Alabama, and we do not have Wegmans, so it's safe to say this visit blew my mind. We started by ordering coffee drinks before exploring. I got something frozen with caramel and coconut and tried to imprint the ingredients on my brain so I could try to replicated it at Starbucks when I got home. That frappe disappeared in about 5 minutes. Next, we explored the hot bar. It was similar to Whole Foods with its variety which included a few international cuisines. There were also a bunch of "half-prepped" items in the refrigerated section that would have made quick and delicious dinners to take home and throw in the oven for a few minutes. Additionally, there was an olive bar (yes, you read that right--olives!) tucked away by the cheese section. We really enjoyed everything we ate. Sure wish we had one of these at home. :)

Yelp
My favorite place on earth!!! Just joking. But I sure do LOVE MY WEGMANS!!! Yeah, the parking can suck at the East Ave Wegmans, and trying to leave out of the exit on university bites. But I still love my wegmans. The guys in the seafood and meat department are extremely nice, always coming up to the counter asking if I need help. They are more than happy to trim or clean anything I purchase. Joanne the cheese lady ROCKS!!! She is the sweetest woman and god so I love cheese. Thank you Wegmans. Thank you !!!

Yelp
The most logically laid out Wegmans, by far. But it's the busiest and definitely filled with lane jams. Everyone is very helpful, even the officers who have to man the parking lot and make sure people follow parking lot etiquette.

Yelp
Hallelujah! It's back and better than ever! This is my one and only neighborhood grocery store and more. Although it was sad (sort of) to see the old store go, the renovations are a huge improvement. The parking lot is double (?) the size. We'll see how that all plays out a couple months from now when the "grand opening" crowd dies down. I love that the store is "goldilocks size" - just big enough not to seem overwhelming. Big ups go to Wegmans for the cafe and outdoor seating, perfect for a quick lunch. I do love their Market options - $6 meals and what not. Loving the improved layout too - easier flow through the produce area and a few options (like organic lettuce blends) that the old Wegs didn't have. The seafood section is fab too. Over half the case is filled with wild caught fish. Clearly I'm all for the organic goods, so I'm also glad they mixed all that in with the regular foods. You're looking for juice, you can find Ocean Spray AND organic Wegmans brand AND Knudsen Just Pomegranite all in the same place. Oh so convenient. Oh yeah, and the make-your-own Craft Pack is chilled! And, there's more to choose from too. Quick perfect for the couples or friends with different tastes for beer. Honestly, the smiles from the staff say it all. They're happy to be there, which in turn makes you feel the same. As someone who lives walking distance, I do have a minor quibble. The pedestrian entry from either side is not as well laid out as it should be. The sidewalks go up the either side of University and East, but don't continue into the parking lot so you're walking through the car lanes into the lot, narrowly avoiding getting hit. Keep your eyes peeled, and just like mom used to say, "look both ways before crossing!"

Yelp
Wegmans does a great job usually. The recent customer mask mandate is where they are dropping the ball. I spoke with the store front manager today regarding the newly imposed mandate that all customers wear a mask to enter the store. I brought it to his attention that I noticed several customers not wearing masks and one Individual not wearing a mask while at the sun station was coughing while not even covering his mouth. I was told that they are trying their best. Well they have the ability to once again exceed customer expectations by enforcing the mandate. I am immune compromised and my shopping decisions are based upon safety currently. It was explained time that if they try to enforce the policy they decided to put into place would put their security staff in danger??? Policies are to be enforced. Otherwise this entire "let's keep of employees and customers safe policy" is nothing more than a sad PR STUNT. Own your decisions and continue to shine as a business that cares about its community members

Yelp
The SUPERMARKET of all Supermarkets....Wegemans is my go to supermarket when I'm in Rochester and to hear they're coming to Brooklyn is the best news everrrr. From the super fresh produce, to rows and rows of buffet foods, sushi bar, prepackaged meals, bakery area, cheese section, alcohol hideout, pet aisle, redbox...need I go on. Well I will..lol. The aisles are all organized so neatly with such awesome selections. The employees are always friendly and very customer service oriented, which I truly appreciate. THE BEST PART is......here it comes.................................... LOW PRICES !!! WEGEMANS is the BEST !!!

Yelp
Wegmans it's probably the best place on earth. Styx dollar meals, pizza, subs, great cafe to sit in, above average coffee and tea. Great Wi-Fi to use if you are doing work. People that aren't from Rochester or do not have a wegmans have a rough life. Their parking lots are insane though, so dangerous

Yelp
Wegmans of East Ave... I really hate your parking lot. Who designed that? I do love the new face lift, but I really hoped they would fix some of the big problems of the original. Variety and space. The aisles are still too narrow and the variety is the worst. Prepared foods: that's a whole other story. This is where they thrive. It's a perfect lunch spot for good food and fast. I love that they have a seating area now too. Catering gets 5 starts from me, they make it too easy. They think of every little thing for you so you don't forget anything. I was very impressed with that.

Yelp
Reliably the best supermarket anywhere. The only drawback is that it's always crowded and this particular one is a little smaller than the flagship store in pittsford. Still the best.
