Weinstube im Baldreit

This was the best steak I ever had. It was cooked perfectly. It had delicious herbs, spices, a bit of gravy and the right amount of cooked onions and capers with a potato confit. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was the best German experience you could ask for.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, picked out a great wine for us, altered dishes to make them vegetarian with no fuss, and the food was amazing. Great salads and tarts; my steak came in a delicious sauce, the desserts were simple and delicious. It was the best meal we had in a week of traveling in Germany. Great courtyard.

Absolutely glorious service. Refreshing to see such nice treatment from waiters in Germany! The food is equally great. Will come back next time : ) Update: came back and Jakob the waiter even remembered me! :D still a nice place to go, the food is not cheap, but it is really great!

Very good service, attentive, quick, and on point. The food was outstanding, delicious. The wine selection wide and high quality. The weinstube itself is very cosy and well looked after. Highly recommended 👌

A little beautiful hidden jewel - best food we had in Baden-Baden by a mile!!!! The Wurstsalat , Perlhuhnbrust and Steak were out of this world. Service extremely nice , very good winelist as well. Our only regret was, that we were too full to try one of the Desserts as the Special of Homemade plum compote with goat cheese ice cream just sounded so good. Will definitely be back.

An authentic and welcoming restaurant. Nicole was very helpful in explaining the menu and making wine suggestions. Best to book ahead, and try to arrive early (it can get crowded) and with a hearty appetite - the food is delicious and the servings are generous.

A hidden gem in Baden-baden. Really enjoyed my dinner here with a warm and welcoming host. As I looked through the menu, I took a while to decide as all the items look amazing. I had the guineafowl breast which is very succulent and juicy and the apple tarte flambée which is definitely a must! This dining experience is indeed one of the best things that Baden-baden has to offer.

I will have to come back to Baden Baden .. maybe Baldreit will be just of the reasons why. The place is simple .. kinda typical german with some amazing good food ! I had such a surprise discovering then tasting my salmon trout (with the delicious smashed potatoes witg olives) then was also amazed by the sweet apple flamenkuch ... I litterally went after dinner thank and congratulate the chef .. by the way the whole staff is super nice !

This restaurant is one of the top five absolute favorite places we've ever eaten on our travels in the 11 different countries we have traveled to! One of the owners was our waitress that evening and we had an amazing experience chatting with her. The food is something that we talk about almost a year after visiting and the ambiance of the venue was super hygge and full of character representing the Black Forest and Germany. We would go back in a heartbeat if ever in Baden Baden again. Thank you Rock Steves for helping us find this cozy venue that is hidden at the back of an cobblestone street hidden corner. As American tourists we had no trouble communicating, it just took a little while To find the venue on our way there that evening.

We had a great meal here for our anniversary. Had the trout special. Came with asparagus risotto. Trout was good for trout. Simply cooked, two filets. I had the special Pasta with pork cheeks and asparagus. Much more flavorful than the trout. We went without reservations and there were two tables taken when we arrived and they tried to sit us down in the lower level basement area, where no one was at the time. ??? We asked to be seated in the main level since it had windows and more ambiance. They did, but I wonder why they tried to put us downstairs. We had wines suggested by the wait staff, since we wanted a recommendation as we do not usually drink white wine. But, others were drinking flights and it was not offered to us at all. Would have liked to have had a chance at that. All in all a good experience. With the caveats noted above, it could have been excellent.

We are here in August and had a fantastic meal, with excellent service, in a beautiful courtyard. It was one of the highlights of our visit to Baden-Baden. We'll be back the next time we return to Baden-Baden.

This place is a hidden gem! And when I say hidden, it's actually concealed down an ally away from all of the tourists that come to Baden-Baden - guess I shouldn't talk though considering I was a tourist ;) anyway if I could give 6 stars - I would. The food was wonderful we got some of the flatbread and the beef tar-tar as well as several of the local beers. We where also lucky enough that the weather was still nice enough for us to be able to eat in the great court-yard they have here.

We had a delicious meal sitting at the bar. The service was very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The escargot was delicious and full of garlicky, butter goodness. The Black Forest ham salad was also amazing and paired well with the goat cheese and honey. The trout was flavourful and the black pudding potato dish was yummy. The one disappointment was the bread which was white and not very good. They even take credit cards - an extra bonus!

Great restaurant in a secluded courtyard. There is an inside area but no one sat at it, the wrestler outside was perfect. Wait staff speaks English and they take Visa. Not sure about Amex. Mix of locals, European tourists and American tourists. The "pizza" dish with Black Forest ham and pears is excellent, good for two people as an appetizer. They have a page of the menu dedicated to these types of "pizzas". The veal schnitzel is also excellent, perfectly fried and comes with delicious fries and a fresh side salad. These two dishes seemed to be the most popular items ordered. Had a great Pinot blanc from nearby in Baden. Black Forest cake for dessert was served in a glass and was very fruity. Only negative (depending on your perspective), the service is pretty slow. There were only two waitresses, probably could have used one more.

Ok. So bread and salad were good (average).... but the I had the "smoked pork cheeks braised in red wine and mustard sauce with potato-pumpkin purée." Holy hell that was good! Perfect balance of salty, sweet, sour, savory with starch! Boom! Perfect flavor balance. I recommend!

Take the time to find this place - we only had apps and desserts, but if they put as much care into their main courses then you'll be missing out if you don't eat here. Daughter was visiting from the States, and wanted to try Snails while we were in France but we didn't quite get there.... so we ordered them here. Fantastic. I would never have tried them on any other occasion, but having them here was worth it. The Black Forest Cake and the dessert special were also wonderful. Find this place, eat here - it's awesome. Service was great, and the outdoor patio was nice and secluded.
