Welty's, I know that I've only known you for 2 hours but, I feel like you need to know. I love you. Your Ruben sandwich is no joke. In fact, I almost tapped out with two bites left. But, I persevered. Your Trio Salad will be probably the only roughage that I consume on vacation. It looks fabulous, too. Can't wait for dinner! If it matches in quality, I will be forever yours. The great reviews are true. Just be aware they are located on the second floor, so when you arrive at the address, you need to go in and up an escalator. The owner greeted me at the till in fine southern form and hospitality. The more you visit in the city you find that the sweet southern sweetness is always accompanied by a dusting of sass. That suites me fine :) The food was fantastic and the side were made in-house. The best was the condiments. Every hot sauce, mustered, and mayo know to man is available in squeeze tube form, as well as trays of pickles, onions, tomato, pickles, etc. Highly recommend. Sincerely, The Man in Pink

We went in search of the most delicious Muffuletta in NOLA this morning. I'm pretty comfortable in stating we hit the jackpot. Welty's Deli, located at 201 St. Charles is a hidden gem. Enter Place St. Charles through the street-level entryway and ride the escalator to the second floor. Welty's is to your left. If there is a line, it moves very quickly. Tina and the ladies take your order and you'll have your food before you are fully settled into your seats. Listen for your number to be called as it's sometimes a rapid-fire affair. There are many choices here, and be sure to check out the specials. We ordered a whole Muffuletta to share and were rewarded with a choice of side dishes. The Italian pasta salad paired well with this 19th century Louisiana-Italian innovation. The portions are more than generous, flavorful and fresh. A must-visit for anyone touring The Big Easy.

Hidden gem inside the St. Charles Place. Delightful owner greeted us with open arms and served us the best muffuletta sandwich. There’s a nice little balcony you can eat on if the weather’s nice. Don’t miss this great sandwich shop and deli!

I love going to Welty's in Place St Charles during my lunch break. I'm not even a vegetarian but I thoroughly enjoy their veggie sandwiches. Their sandwiches are big and filled to the brim. They also have special hot plates and soups of the day. The best part is they have a "laniappe" bar with more condiments and toppings that you could count. Whether you work downtown or are visiting, you should absolutely go to Welty's at Place St. Charles!

Went for a Muffaletta and it was the best. Welty’s has moved into a food court on the second floor of the Chase building. Make sure you find it. Friendly service and we walked away happy and with suggestions for places to try next. Closed on the weekend or we would come back both days we have left

Went to this place 3 out of 4 days on a work trip to NOLA. I went because it was so well rated. I was surprised to find it was located in a mini food court of an office building. Wasn't sure I had the right spot. Had the muffaletta on several occasions as well as the yakamein. The muffaletta was much better than ones I had in more famous places. If you need lunch in the French Quater go here. Avoid the over priced, lesser quality of places on the strip. Great service, as well.

I stumbled upon this deli by accident. Located on the second floor of a nondescriptive building you will find this outstanding local deli. The Mufalatta was absolutely off the charts good. The service was excellent and prices were reasonable.

I am from out of town had a taste for a salad and only had time for takeout. Welty's was close to where I was staying and their menu looked delicious. When I arrived, I knew I picked the right place because of the line (don't let this deter you because it goes by really fast!). I first want to start by the sweet woman who took my order and happened to be the owner. I thought the customer service provided by Tina would be the best part of my experience, but when I got back to start eating my Asian Chicken Salad I quickly understood why they were busy. the salad was HUGE and one of the best I've had in a long time. I have never written a review before, but thought the customer service and food was just too good not to!

Welty's used to have its own place in the CBD but is now in the food court of Place St Charles. But don't put it in the "food court" category. It's a classic deli, with a very distinct NOLA vibe. The sandwiches are LOADED with meat, and very good. I haven't had any of their specials - I go there when I want a corned beef or pastrami sandwich. Actually, yesterday it was their California Club, which as great, and I should not have eaten the whole thing all at once. I always dine in, and I always love listening to the interactions between the staff and the customers. It's a bit odd to be in a "food court" and hear so many "Here ya go my love" or "Hey baby, where you been?" with almost every customer being treated like long-time customers (which, apparently, many of them are). I swear, I think every sentence I hear either starts with, or ends with( or both), a great term of endearment. Everyone working there seems to really love what they do. Seriously, if you closed your eyes, you'd think you were sitting in a neighborhood diner. Being on the 2nd floor of an office and retail building, it's easy to forget about, but if you're looking for a great sandwich and some love, this is your place.

If you are looking for the best sandwiches and customer service in all of NOLA, visit Welty's! On my most recent visit I stumbled upon this hidden gem. The owner, Tina and her staff go above and beyond when it comes to customer service and the food is just the cherry on top of an impeccable establishment! They have an array of condiments and toppings to dress up your sandwich/food the way you like it. A special shout-out to Kacey and Lisa for their exquisite customer service and kind hearts. Counting down the days until I can fly 3,000 miles to eat here again.

Looooved this place! With so many fantastic places to eat in NOLA, shout out for a really fantastic muffuletta. The olive salad has been a favorite!

I was a bit confused on where this was located but once I found it! Omg so good. Great prices amazing variety.

Darn good sandwich. Wife and I split a half sandwich. I don't think we could eat a full. The place a clean with lots of seats and staff was friendly.

First, if you are looking for it, its located on the 2nd floor. Food is Great. I had the 1/2 sandwich muffaletta with a crawfish bisque . Sandwich is huge and very very good. Soup is excellent. Wife had the smoked salmon saad and lived it.

I've walked past this place several times and never thought a thing of it until the other day, I was digging through Yelp for a casual, non-touristy lunch place in the CBD. I found it! I looked at their menu and knew I had to have the curry chicken salad. It didn't disappoint. Counter staff is friendly but a little chaotic. Don't fault them for it though, it's a lunch rush. Def worth a visit for a quick lunch if you're downtown.

This place is a hidden gem ! There were mostly locals and the owner knew them all by name. It's located on the calmer side of town (in my opinion). You place your order at the register. They will call your number when it's done. This deli is staffed by the most lovely and friendly ladies you will ever meet !! If we lived here, they would also know our name because we would be regulars for sure ! We both had a 1/2 a Muffaletta and salad. When I saw the size of the sandwich I cut it in half and said there is no way I am going to eat all that. Fast forward to empty plate ...........best Muffaletta ever consumed !!! Wish we were in town longer and could try some more of their deliciousness. Stop by and enjoy their food and hospitality. You will be so glad you did !!!

Got the mufaletta and weltys salad combo. Mufaletta had melted cheese and had a tasty and crispy bite. Very very tasty although not healthy so I wouldn't eat it regularly. Salad was a copious amount and was worth the money. I would definitely come here for the salads.

While vacationing in NOLA with my family it was our goal to take on as many tastes and flavors as we could, Muffuletta was atop our list. Welty's Deli has a very family feel from top to bottom, staff was extremely friendly and made us feel at home. ...and the Muffuletta? AMAZING! We can't wait to get back.

I stopped by for lunch on a hot day and wanted something cool and fresh. I got absolutely that when I ordered the trio salad with three scoops of chicken salad of differing flavors. They all tasted delicious and the portion was quite large. This is the perfect place for a healthy lunch stop!

Great place to come for breakfast. I came here based on the star rating and I was impressed. I liked the food and the casual atmosphere. Its a fast casual joint in that you order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. We were the only people in here but that's ok as it was 7:00 am when we came and I think most of the town was still sleeping , lol! The person that took our order was very kind, and helpful. I appreciated his sincere customer service attitude. The laminated paper menu isn't very extensive but it makes it easier to make a decision and allows the cooks to focus their efforts to make great things. Order: Artisan Deli Breakfast sandwich $7.95, added extra bacon for $.95 1 biscuit $1.50 1 coffee $ ? The sandwich was very plain, BUT this is where you make it great. Head over to the Lagniappe Bar and choose from the 17 bottles of special sauces and dump as much as you like on your sandwich. Next move down to the condiments where there are pickled onions, sweet hot pickles and several other items that might catch your eye. Coffee - there was another station with condiments for your coffee. The coffee itself was tasty and I enjoyed drinking it. The sandwich was pretty tasty after I finished loading it up with fun things from the Lagniappe bar. Our breakfast experience was great, I would definitely recommend eating here for breakfast. Wow! What food and experience thanks to Tina & Casey who make you feel right at home! We had the muffaletta sandwich and club sandwich with broccoli cheese soup and the watermelon lemonade and it was deliciousness!!! Nice big portions and the customer service you'd expect from family members, respectful, caring, detailed and just all around sweet. You want some good stuff to eat, go eat here with these great people for great food! Thank your ladies!

This deli was the standout of our NOLA dining. The staff were kind and welcoming, the sandwiches were second to none, and the service was great. If you're after a delicious lunch stop on your downtown tours, stop on by and grab a California Club or Reuben!

I was on a business trip in NOLA this past May, and Welty's was right up the street from my hotel. Their Curry Chicken Salad sandwich is amazing. I had it twice during my stay, and I've thought about it more times than that since then. I will always make a point to go to this little deli on Camp Street during any future visits to New Orleans. Six stars!

One of the better sandwich places around. Good ingredients and a variety of choices and all around much tastier and on par with over delis across the US. Today I got the half-soup and half-sandwich combo. Gumbo was very flavorful and the melty sandwiches are great. California club also tasty. I like the sprouts but a bit too much meat for my liking.

I found Weltys Deli last year. I have NEVER been disappointed with food or service. Their customer service is as good as going to a high in end restaurant as well as their food. I have had a turtle soup that is on par with all the famous restaurants for 1/2 the price. I have worked in restaurants for 40 years and they never disappoint ! I am sooo happy I found them.

There's not much more that I can add about the delicious sandwiches at this unassuming deli. Something of a hidden gem away from the touristy areas. Whatever you order will be good but know that you can't leave NOLA without trying a Muffaletta!

Had to have a muffuletta and this was a great place to satisfy that taste! Got the half sandwich (gigantic) and crab soup. Perfect combo! Glad we got here while they're still open - we wanted a homey place with great food and this fit the bill. Pretty cool to see their condiment and relish buffet. My sandwich definitely didn't need it but fun to see so many topper options. Great taste of New Orleans!

Wow.....this was the best Pastrami Sandwich i have ever had. Owner was awesome. Did not have a salad but they look amazing. If your in the area.....its a must! Ryan from Cali!

So good! A popular place for the lunch on the run locals. Nice getaway from the heavy cheesy touristy spots. Got a club sandwich with house potato chips. There's a big assortment of salad dressings and sandwich spreads on the side bar with silverware and napkins. Place your order first and they call your order number out when it's ready. You can call in an order to go and skip the line. Lots of seating and pretty cozy atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

The food is good and so is the ambience created by each table being decorated with flowers. When a meal is ready for pickup the screaming of the last 2 numbers of each person's receipt is overwhelmingly loud. We sit as far away from the pickup counter as possible after ordering our lunch.

Best salad and best Reuben I've ever had!!! This place is awesome. Service is amazing, the employees are friendly, and it was super quick! They recommended the Reuben. It was perfection. The meat was tender, perfect amount of everything. The Greek salad was unbelievable. It had a ton of toppings, great dressing, and the grilled chicken is worth adding for $2.75. We would definitely visit again.

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch before our flight home. I wish we found this place days ago. Had my first muffuletta and it was divine. The meat is fresh and cut thin, the bread is perfect, just the right amount of olives so that it wasn't over powering and the melted cheese is the cherry on top. Also had a blueberry lemonade which was just the right amount of sweetness! The entire staff were so friendly and the food came out fast. Would highly recommend and will be back on our next trip.

This was a surprising find amidst the hustle and bustle of NOLA! Over the busy lunch hour the line was short and efficient. The owner and her team were on it. Great fresh deli sandwiches- I had a make your own Turkey on Croissant and was impressed with the fresh shaved meat, piled generously high. Sides abound and watch out for the temptation in the dessert case! Blondies are to die for. You top your own sandwich at their bar - very nice. Was going to go but decided to stay and really enjoyed my experience. Nice change of food pace and service! Kudos.

This deli is AMAZING! Fresh ingredients, great taste, one of a kind service and so much variety. This was our first time visiting and we'll definitely be coming back.

This place was fantastic! I went at lunch hour in the business district and it was pretty packed. I was amazed how fast the line moved and even more impressed with how fast my food came out. I wasn't even settled into my chair before my number was called. The curried chicken salad was creamy with just the right amount of curry. The portion was big on a bed of mixed greens tossed in a nice vinaigrette. The creamy curry with the acid of the dressing and the tomatoes was a really nice balance that really popped. The service was great too! At the counter they move like a well oiled machine. Once you are seated, they check on you to make sure everything was good. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick, reasonably priced and high quality meal.

A group of us stumbled upon this deli for lunch. The lunch was long so that means the food is good. I tried the half sandwich and salad/soup. The sandwich was packed with meat and overwhelmingly delicious!

Stopped by for lunch and will definitely be back. We were immediately greeted by the owner manning the register who gave us some great recommendations. We got the sandwich special (roast chicken, pesto, mozzarella) and it was superb. The soups and salads also looked amazing and we will be trying when we stop by tomorrow!

One of my favorite places I've found here since moving to nola. Everything is great. Never a bad dining experience. You're really paying for a great meal and a live comedy show when Tina is working the register.

Tried the local muffuletta. The sandwich was delicious. The local owners/staff were really helpful in pointing us in the direction of some great restaurants/bars. Great for lunch :)

They opened with table seating, following current distancing rules, plus take out. Although little short on staff service is just as friendly and efficient as always and food is what you have come to expect in that it's fresh, large portions and full of flavor. Doing same specials all week and that's a smart thing at this time. Grilled tuna steak over mixed greens today was excellent and fresh, doing red bean soup but it's almost like a small order of beans and rice and always good. This is true New Orleans food and small independent owners that need our support.

The muffuletta was great! Half was plenty for lunch. Crispy bread. Meat piled high. Peppers and olives round it out. Very tasty. Loaded potato soup had real ingredients that you can see and taste. Dessert looked very tempting. Lunch rush was loud and busy. Staff remained friendly and helpful while delivering high quality food. Much calmer by 12:50. Definitely will return to try more of the menu.

Wish I could give more stars. Very easy to get parking at a lot on Poydras and Camp. Order takers are friendly and will tell you as much or a little as you need to make your choices. I got the AK Muffalatta which has four meats and four cheeses. It come out hot and very fresh. I am a big boy and all I coul eat was half. My wife and daughter each got 1/2 Muffalotta and Salad and they loved them as well. Way better than any other downtown spot we have tried. Muffs were best ever. Go give them your business they deserve it.

Dee-lite-full. Not fancy. Clearly, local professionals hit this place a lot. I ordered smoked salmon salad. The cashier asked "Honey, you been here before?" I said no. She replied "You're going to like that salad." She was right. The strawberry lemonade was delicious. Ordering and paying is a well-oiled process. The atmosphere was noisy, active and vibrant.

We stopped in here for breakfast during a recent conference and the owners were the nicest people in town! We're from up north and my friend asked to have her bagel hollowed out to cut down on carbs. She got a funny look, a laugh and then a "we don't do that." That sounds bad, but it was hilarious and I don't think anyone is hollowing out their bagels in the Big Easy. After that we sat down to a nice breakfast. I got the salmon that usually goes on a bagel in a wrap... I know, I know, I'm just as bad. But it was really good and what made it better was one of the sauces over on the shelf. They have at least a dozen of them and the one I had was perfect with the salmon. My friend enjoyed her (unhollowed) bagel and we were ready to start our day in the Big Easy. Thanks to the folks at Welty's for the nice, warm welcome!

I decided to dive into one of their specials today - the meatballs and spaghetti. It was dished up and the portion size was roughly the size of a Buick. The taste was *chef's kiss* amazing. Loved the sauce. Loved the meatballs. Loved it all. I have plenty for dinner this evening.

We decided to have jambalaya for the family for Christmas. We ordered a small tray of it from Welty's catering. We asked they add shrimp. They say the small size can feed 10, but we counted 20 meals we had from it! Not only was it a great portion, but it was absolutely fabulous. The people there were great. It is a wonderful breakfast and lunch spot!

This place definitely hit the spot. You have to get here early, there is a lunch rush. If I worked around there, it would be my go to salad and sandwich place. The portion sizes are huge, plenty to eat. Everything was fresh, and no complaints. Our party was a size of 6. No complaints from anyone. The curry salad was amazing! You basically stand in line when you enter, and order your food. Order/pay and take a number and sit, wait for your number to be called. I ordered half sandwich and half salad. Again, i would definitely come back again.

We had friends staying with us for the night and wanted to wAlk somewhere for breakfast. We thought Welty's opened at 7 however they opened at 8 and we were lucky because they typically are closed on Sunday. Thanks to the saints game we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast. We were waiting when the doors were open and were greeted as soon as we walked in and told where the menus were and how to order. Tina Welty was so friendly and made us feel like we were in her home having breakfast. #feltathomeinweltys #weltysdeli What to order........ I ordered a homemade fluffy huge biscuit with country Tasso gravy. There was plenty of Tasso and the gravy was perfectly seasoned. I could not finish this and had to take half home. One of us ordered an egg and sausage croissant. This was large as well and he left happy and full The next order was a special that was full of goodness. I can't remember what it was called but there were hash browns, eggs, pulled pork, and country Tasso gravy all in a bowl and served with a biscuit. This was huge and half had to be taken home. The last order was a waffle and hash browns. When it was brought to the table there were smiles because it was covered with confectioners sugar. So if you don't want it covered make sure you let them know! The food was fabulous but the service and conversation was what added to the experience. #happyfoodcoma We will come back for lunch soon because there are many different sauces and mayos readily available to try. You can dress your own sandwich with lettuce Tomatoes etc and then choose from many sauces. I included a picture of the list of sauces. Over all a great experience and we will be back very soon. Welty's never disappoints - their salads are amazing and so are the warm meals. Today we had a fabulous lunch today with friends - celebrating a birthday!!! The lasagna was incredible and perfect on this chilly day. Warm, cheesy and full of flavor. Tina is so sweet and Casey took such good care of us too! It's a great lunch spot in the CBD

Am visiting New Orleans with my husband during our move cross country and came across the reviews on here while looking for somewhere to get lunch. It is right across the street from where we are staying, so super convenient. We were greeted by a woman (the owner?) at the counter who was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the 1/2 muffuletta and salad meal with mango/peach iced tea. My husband got a tuna salad sandwich with chips and a strawberry lemonade. The muffuletta (my first, ever) was delicious... the bread was soft and toasted. The iced tea was great and my husband raved about both the lemonade and tuna salad sandwich. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch here...definitely worth a stop while in town!

Great food, large portions and super friendly staff! I had the muffuletta which was delicious along with yummy, creamy coleslaw.

Tried this spot for the first time today for lunch. I split a full muffaletta with a friend. Perhaps the best muffaletta I have ever had. Much better than the famous one in the French Quarter! Tasty, plenty of fillings, and the bread was not overwhelming. I had coleslaw as a side dish. Highly recommended and will be back to try some other sandwiches.

Wanted a muffuletta before I left NOLA. It was HUGE and great! Looks like this place is family run although I can't be sure. But the food and atmosphere was informally great and the service was quick and kind. And the muffuletta....nom nom!
