The 38 Best Restaurants in New Delhi, India | Eater

"Price Range: $$ Inside the crumbling walls of one of Connaught Place’s Georgian-style relics, Wenger’s cake shop has hosted generations of fervently loyal Delhi residents. In keeping with English tradition, Wenger’s serves fresh cream-stuffed buns and biscuits dotted with jam, but the shop also offers savory specialties like patties (flaky bread rolls stuffed with cheese and mushrooms that make great tea snacks), baguettes stuffed with cheese and chopped pieces of tandoori chicken, and shami kebabs (fried minced lamb cutlets). Must-try dish: Get a “pastry,” which in Delhi just means a piece of cake; the Swiss Roll is especially beloved." - Sharanya Deepak

Wenger's is one of those timeless places that never loses its charm. Located in the inner circle of Connaught Place, this legendary bakery has been serving generations since 1926 — and it truly lives up to the hype. The variety of baked goods here is exceptional. From freshly baked pastries, patties, and cakes to Swiss rolls, waffles, and mouth-watering cookies, everything is of top quality. My personal favorite is their chicken patties and rum balls — absolutely delicious! The pastries are always fresh, soft, and perfectly sweetened, not overly sugary like many other bakeries. Their Belgian chocolate cake and truffle pastries are a must-try for chocolate lovers. The multi-grain sandwiches and cold coffee are also great options if you're looking for a quick bite. Despite being one of the busiest places in CP, the service is always fast and efficient. The staff is polite and maintains good hygiene standards. Prices are reasonable for the quality and legacy of the brand. The ambiance is nostalgic — stepping into Wenger’s feels like stepping into a piece of Delhi’s colonial history, and yet it still feels relevant and loved by people of all ages. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Wenger’s is a must-visit for bakery lovers. A perfect place to grab a treat while exploring Connaught Place!

Wenger’s is a legendary bakery in Connaught Place, known for its delicious selection of pastries, cakes, and savory snacks. The quality of their food is consistently excellent, and their variety of desserts, especially the chocolate eclairs and Swiss rolls, is a must-try. The patties and sandwiches are also great for a quick bite. Being one of the most popular bakeries in Delhi, Wenger’s is usually very crowded, especially on weekends. The rush can sometimes mean a bit of a wait, but the taste makes it absolutely worth it. The service is efficient despite the crowd, and the nostalgic charm of the place adds to the experience. If you’re in Connaught Place, Wenger’s is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth or craving a classic bakery treat!

Google
has a nice vibe, but it felt a bit overpriced for what it offers. The fries were just okay—nothing special or different. However, the drink options, especially the shakes, were pretty good. If you’re looking for a place to chill with a nice beverage, it’s worth a visit, but don’t expect too much from the food.

When visiting delhi and in CP, wengers is a go to place, just because of its name .. there are two wenger shops, one is the bakery and around the corner is the small restaurant with sitting capacity of 13-14 people max ..no issues with service, ample parking (specially as it was a weekday it was not too much rush as well) but reasonable for low rating is the following: 1) sitting space, can get crowded and uncomfortable to sit, maybe this was not my expectation and this is just a small joint so it will be fine for few. Guess we were looking for more relaxed sitting and eating place 2) ordered veg bbq burger, chicken burger, pesto panini, onion rings and choco brownie milk shake. The burgers were average (way too much mayo in the chicken burger), panini was good, liked the pesto taste, didn’t like onion rings at all as they were “different”… some people might like it but we are not used to crushed filled onion rings, we were looking for actual ring of onion inside the crispy outer layer and the choco brownie milk shake was a let down Overall, still worth a visit if you are looking for a quick thing to grab and go, just go with a managed expectations. And yes it’s very economical which is a great plus.

I have Visited this place twice, years apart, and it’s always buzzing with people. The takeaway-only setup can get crowded, but it’s worth a quick stop. This time, I tried the Cheese Cake (average) and the Paneer Roll (surprisingly good). For seating and a more extensive menu, head to Wenger’s Deli around the corner. A legacy spot in Connaught Place, it offers pastries, cakes, snacks, and more. Service is quick, and the food is delicious—perfect for a quick bite or a casual meal!

Tried shami kebab, mutton patty and a variety of waffles. Everything was of fine quality. The place was crowded but neatly and orderly maintained.

Full five stars for this iconic place, I remember my parents taking me 40 years ago and now I take my boys there to experience this amazing bakery to keep the generational experience going. Their quality and service has been consistent, still using the three step formula, let me explain. Step 1 order what you want and get a receipt. Step 2 take the receipt to the cashier to pay for the items and get another receipt Step 3 show the receipt to collect your items. This three step process works if you are purchasing one to multiple items, same process and it works brilliantly. You can hear the dot matrix printer buzzing away printing receipts. Place is always busy never a dull moment. Their cakes and pastries are legendary, hot food items are good too - veg, chicken, mutton patties. Biscuits of many sorts, too many sugary treats to keep you coming back for more. Check out the photos. No seating is available, take away only, recently they have opened up a Deli shop on the side if you want to sit down and eat. Some may say its just another bakery, well tell them how many places have been operating successfully for 100+ years in this Insta half life era. Here’s to another 100 years of baking.
