The 38 Best Restaurants in New Delhi, India | Eater

"Price Range: $$ Inside the crumbling walls of one of Connaught Place’s Georgian-style relics, Wenger’s cake shop has hosted generations of fervently loyal Delhi residents. In keeping with English tradition, Wenger’s serves fresh cream-stuffed buns and biscuits dotted with jam, but the shop also offers savory specialties like patties (flaky bread rolls stuffed with cheese and mushrooms that make great tea snacks), baguettes stuffed with cheese and chopped pieces of tandoori chicken, and shami kebabs (fried minced lamb cutlets). Must-try dish: Get a “pastry,” which in Delhi just means a piece of cake; the Swiss Roll is especially beloved." - Sharanya Deepak

Wenger's, Connaught Place is a true Delhi classic and one of the city’s oldest bakeries. Located in the heart of CP, it carries an old-world charm that instantly feels nostalgic. The aroma of freshly baked goods draws you in, and the display is always tempting. Their chocolate eclairs are rich and indulgent, the chicken patty is perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the range of muffins, cakes and breads is consistently fresh and comforting. The sandwiches are simple yet satisfying, ideal for a quick bite while exploring CP. It does get crowded, but the quality, taste, and legacy make it worth the wait. A must-visit for anyone who loves classic bakery flavors in Delhi.

Wenger’s in Connaught Place is a legendary spot that truly lives up to its reputation. Despite the overwhelming crowd and slightly confusing ordering system, the quality of food, especially the cakes and the legacy of the place make it a memorable experience. Detailed Review: The first thing that struck me was the massive rush at Wenger’s, especially considering it was peak noon during winters. I was genuinely surprised to see so many people packed into the shop. My friend then explained that this is one of the oldest and most iconic food outlets in Connaught Place, which instantly made the crowd make sense. The shop mainly had non-vegetarian items on display, which my friend opted for, while I decided to try one of their famous cakes. The process of ordering was a bit confusing at first. You have to stand in one line just to choose your items, after which you’re given a slip. This slip needs to be shown at a separate payment counter, and once paid, you hand it over to another person who finally gives you your selected items. It felt unnecessarily complicated, but perhaps it’s their way of managing the never-ending rush. Most items were already sold out by noon, which was surprising but clearly reflects the demand. The cakes looked amazing, and the small cake I chose tasted really good fresh, rich, and satisfying. The crowd mostly seemed well-heeled, adding to the classic CP vibe. Overall, despite the chaos, Wenger’s is worth visiting at least once.

This is my go-to place in CP. I usually come here for their onion rings and coffee, and they never disappoint. The onion rings are super crispy and tasty, and the coffee is really good and the mocha is my favorite. If you want something heavy, the hazelnut shake is also worth trying. Always a great experience here!

Wenger’s Bakery is right in the heart of Connaught Place, and it’s super easy to find. The place was quite crowded, which already says a lot about its popularity. They have an amazing variety — from tarts and cheesecakes to pastries, cakes, and many other baked items. This time I tried the tiramisu and fig tart, and both were absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were just right for one person, and the prices were very reasonable considering the quality. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely love to come back to try more from their menu next time.

The more you experience Wenger’s Bakery, the more delicious it feels! Today I finally understood why my friends kept praising Wenger’s for their famous Patty—and yes, it truly deserves all the appreciation. I personally loved the Veg Patty and the Mango Swiss Roll, both were fresh, flavorful, and simply mouth-watering. The best part is that every single item on display looks tempting, and you will surely get confused about what to try first. But I would definitely recommend starting with their Patty—an all-time favorite here. Their cakes and pastries are always top quality, rich in taste yet perfectly balanced. Apart from the food, the ambience of the bakery has a charming old-world vibe, and the staff is polite and quick in service, which makes the experience even better. It’s no surprise that Wenger’s is a landmark bakery and continues to hold its legacy for generations. If you’re in Delhi, Wenger’s is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves authentic bakery treats!

Wengers CP, you've nailed it. Had the chicken patties, veg patties, red velvet chocolate cake, chocochip croissant, and the chocolate wave... everything was absolute fire! Flavors were on point, portions generous, and that red velvet cake? Dreamy,The chocochip croissant was layers of flaky goodness, and the chicken patties... just wow! Kudos to employees they were super polite. Downside? Crowded, Had to wait, but worth every minute. If you're in CP and craving top-notch bakery treats, Wengers is your go-to place.

The flavours are unbeatable, and have been like this for as long as I can remember. The signage inside needs to be better as first the time it’s very chaotic. Step 1. Place Your order and get a slip Step 2. Take the slip and make a payment Step 3. Collect your order Step 4. Move out so that others can come in (there would always be a small queue outside) And for everyone reading, please behave and stay in queues instead of pushing around… it’s a lot quicker that way.

Finally visited the most hyped bakery in whole Delhi and i found it just fine. The patty was good no doubt but without a sitting area or even tables it's just weird. They do have a seperate space for restaurant though but the menus are different. The bakery section is the one which i prefer but it's overlay crowded all the time.
