Werise Wines - Review - Downtown - Seattle - The Infatuation

"A new wine bar that features bottles from BIPOC and LGBTQ-owned wineries has opened Downtown. They also serve snacks like suya chicken wings, smoked salmon dip, and red wine-braised meatballs with polenta, which could be a nice break from sad crackers and canned items. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Kayla Sager-Riley

My boyfriend booked this wine tour experience via AirBnB and we didn’t know what to expect. We had so much fun with Carlos as our server. He did a great job explaining and educating as we don’t know anything about wine tasting. A very engaging experience that was well worth the price for newbie wine enjoyers. Thank you Carlos!!

WeRiseWines is truly a special wine bar situated in the heart of downtown and Pike Market Place. Absolutely love the focus of the bar: to find wonderful and outstanding wines of diversity. Specifically, wine producers that are women, LGBTQ, BIPOC and ethnic owned. The owner, Jamila and Celia, her GM have a great staff and the venue is really chill and laid back. There are also a host of different events, great food specials on the board and meet the winemaker tastings. If I had to choose a very good Chardonnay from their list, I would recommend the 2022 CHRIS JOYCE CHARDONNAY produced in Napa but using a unique Burgundy style wine style from the Beaune region. :-)

Joined the wine club and Will be back often. Phenomenal atmosphere and selection of wines. I don’t know of another place in Seattle that highlights the diversity of wine makers and options for LGBTQ+, POC, and Women owned wineries. Have been waiting for a place like this in Seattle and can’t wait to participate in the events that will be hosted and support this location.

Wel curated wine list. Intentional selections, women, bipoc wineries and a cosy space with good vibes. Separate intimate event space for gatherings up to 30 people as well

FINALLY! A fabulous wine bar downtown Seattle that focuses on diversity, featuring excellent wines produced by BIPOC , women and LGBTQ winemakers! They even have non alcoholic wines, although the red tastes like grape juice but the white by Naughty was almost on point as a regular Pinot Grigio! Such a cozy, warm space with very friendly staff. Nice food menu, as well but recommend a few vegan options. Otherwise, BRAVO! 🍷👍

Great spot with great service and great wine! My only feedback is that, as a social justice oriented space, I feel there should be more plant based options. Lots of vegetarian options though which was nice!

Such a gem. Elegant yet comfortable decor. Great location across from Moore Theater making it convenient for pre- or post-show gatherings. Wine list supporting local producers that expands what you may normally see around town. And most importantly for me, staff that is courteous and helpful.

Yelp
Popped in with friends around 5pm. They have a Happy Hour even on Friday and Saturday, 3 to 6 pm. Love that all beverages are all from women-, BIPOC, or LGBTQIA owned businesses. The decor is beautiful, cozy, and upscale. I had the red wine and white wine on their HH menu and was surprised by how good they were because usually HH wines are so-so. Red was better than the white. They are had a delicious IPA on the HH menu too. We had the harissa meatball and goat cheese flatbread which was tasty though a bit dry. The corn bread in a cast iron was so good, we ordered two. It's served w salted butter. Carlos and Bailey, our servers, were attentive and friendly. The only thing I'd not recommend is their nonalcoholic wine. It was more like fancy fruit juice. I'll be back!
