We decided to try it here again my son got the Lauren's Cheese Burger Club. He said it was good and wasn't extra greasy, different with a hard-boiled egg on top, but still tasty. Portions were good and had a side curly fries. I got the Kathy's Patty Melt, and that was super delicious as well, with amaerican cheese and salted onions. Everything came out hot except for my fries they tasted a bit old. The service was good. Our waitress kept coming to check on us which is always a plus. We got seated right away, and drinks were ordered right away as well. This is definitely a great local spot.

I haven't been here in close to a decade, so I was way overdo for a Wert's cheeseburger. The burger is stuffed with mushrooms and onions, and then topped with Velveeta cheese. It's absolutely amazing! There was so much flavor to the burger, I didn't need to add any sauce. My buddy ordered Nikki's bacon bleu cheeseburger. The broiled burger is topped with bacon, bleu cheese dressing, lettuce, and tomato. He said it was one of the best burgers he ever had. We also ordered a crock of French onion soup and split the famous fries. The fries are topped with Cajun seasoning, crab meat, and homemade cheese sauce. Good, but nothing to write home about. Service was stupendous! We were greeted with a warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door, our server was attentive, and the entire staff made us feel like family. Pickup is available, but there is no delivery.

Probably one of the best burgers I’ve had! We came here this past Friday for an early dinner and each had the California Cheeseburger and some mozzarella sticks. Good portions, came with a bag of chips and a side of pickles. Everyone was so very nice, we will def be back again to try out another of their many burger options!

My Husband and I had dinner here after I had a terribly stressful day at work. I needed to vent but it was super quiet with a older clientele so I had to whisper vent. The waitress kept my beers flowing so that helped. The food is pretty good. It's not somewhere I would go to eat regularly. But I will occasionally eat here.

The food here was absolutely amazing! We are on our way home from vacation & this is by far the best meal we've had while on vacation. The best meal in a while! The server was super nice and on top of everything. All of our food came out quick but with enough time for us to finish our previous course. If you haven't tried this place yet, youre missing out! FR!!

Love the familial environment here and the history behind this restaurant. Feel like you're eating at home with how everyone is so welcoming. The onion rings are a must have & the mozzarella sticks are perfectly crispy + 10/10 cheese pull. Burgers are juicy and tasty!

I have been hearing about this place for a while, and I was happy to finally get a chance to try it. It feels like a welcoming local spot when you go in there. I started with some potato pancakes which were excellent, and I knew they were known for their burgers, so I had one and it was delicious. Service was exceptional.!

Ashley is the greatest. I'm very allergic to onions and she made sure my whole meal was onion free!! I will always make sure to eat here when I'm in town!!!

Wentz is a throwback establishment. Just some good old fashioned food. Just a nice sit down dinner feel to it. Sandwiches(club and burgers) were excellent and Hot Turkey with gravy hit the spot on a cool rainy day. Service was very good with attentive wait service It was a solid experience. If you're not looking for fancy high end food, but are hungry and looking for something hot n' filling? Wentz is the place for you.

Very convenient to the Allentown fairgrounds so we decided to have dinner there before attending a concert. The inside is definitely dated but understandable based on how long they have been in business. We sat at a booth and our waitress was very nice and accommodating. We ordered dinners and they came out fast and hot. Very happy with everything. Great home-made food at reasonable prices.

Basically a diner. Super good food. Burgers are legit. Thick real chopped meat burgers that explode with juiciness. Service is always wonderful. $ cannot be beat.

We got to try some of their soups, French Onion, Southwestern Chicken, and Cheeseburger Soup, which was our favorite. They have unique way of preparing onion rings, which is thin and stringy. Plateful of thin onion rings were tasty. We got to try quite a few of their meals, roasted chicken breast with rotisserie seasoning, filet mignon, jumbo lump crab, haddock, burger, and tuna fish sandwich. Also got to try some of their desserts, such as carrot cake.

Food was excellent. Lots of different kinds of burgers and sandwiches. Their onion rings are to die for. Wonderful service by Abby . Great ambiance, everyone is so friendly

Step into Wert's Cafe and you're stepping into the 1970's. Decor hasn't been changed in years. Service was good and the food was average diner food. Not worth going out of your way or waiting 30 minutes for a seat.

Food & service are excellent . When there is a lot wait, though it's rarely too long, it is worth it.

Wert's is an Allentown institution. I enjoy that it hasn't changed much over the years. So nice to walk in to a neighborhood restaurant that feels familiar and know you'll get good food, drinks and service. I hope the family is proud of the business they have grown over their long history. Small independent businesses are gems in the community and I, for one, appreciate the uniqueness they offer.

First time ordering /getting take out here and we got a made to order burger, with a side of curly fries, mozzarella sticks, pretzel sticks appetizer and onion straw appetizer. First, the good, the burger was massive and has a flame grilled taste. Great burger, doesn't taste processed at all and it's probably the best in the area. The next best items were the onion straws and pretzels, really tasty apps and would definitely order again. Last the mozzarella sticks were okay, probably the only item I wouldn't order again. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a good burger and more.

This place is a gem in Allentown, PA! The place is over 70 years old! When you walk in you can tell the owner lane love what they do. It was clean and the service was very professional and friendly. The food was very good and tasty. I can see why they won awards for their great burgers. I would definitely be back if I am in the areas again. Highly recommend it!

Very nice, friendly family own restaurant. The food always good everything I ever had gotten there. I never had a complaint. The staff is really friendly they make you feel like you're at home. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

First time here and won't be my last, food was amazing (strawberry soup yum) service was excellent. Hometown diner basically where they treat you like family. It was like going to grandmas they offered us coffee and dessert afterwards and kept making sure for sure we didn't want dessert.

It used to because great place to eat. The menu was endless. Not since the Covid. It is just high priced burgers now. Used to have great specials every thursday. No more. Not worth the money!

Wert's has the best burgers around! The decor isn't modern and there isn't anything fancy about the restaurant itself, but the food is amazing. Their onion straws are one of a kind and a must order. They have a delicious white birch beer on tap that is really good. Every time we come here, I'll get some kind of burger and my wife will get a burger or scallops. They use velveeta cheese and it pairs really well with a burger. Highly recommend the cheeseburger club, Ashley's pretzel burger, or just a regular cheeseburger. It's not only one of the best tasting burgers I've had, but it's cooked to perfection, from rare (someone I brought here ordered rare and he raved about it) to medium well (personal preference). All of their desserts are great as well. They taste like they were made by a neighborhood mom that used to bake really really well! It's a local business that has been run by the same family for 50+ years. They are always very friendly and welcoming.

This place is a fine example of what is right in America. A full house for lunch on a Monday afternoon at 1:00pm. My family had such a wonderful experience here. I have eaten here many times and it's always great and consistent. My wife and son were first timer, and were ready for a great burger. The Wert Family delivered! Amazing cheeseburger club sandwich on deli rye. It was cooked to a most perfect medium. The add hard boiled egg to the club sandwich, which makes it even more savory. My wife and son both really enjoyed their burgers very much. Fresh cut fries and house made onions rings rounded out our experience. The onion rings are more of a onion straw, but who really cares, they are so fresh and delicious. This is the best burger in the Lehigh Valley and the kindest staff around.

I was in the area an met my mother for lunch. I wasn't happy with the food, but my mother ( 86 ) enjoyed her lunch. She had the Monte Cristo. I had the steak sandwich ( beef chip steak ) and an order of "onion rings'. They don't offer the onion rings as a side but only as an appetizer. Our waitress did say she could get me an order like what they put on the burgers, but I haven't had onion rings in a long time and since the menu labeled them as Wert's Famous, I went with the regular appetizer, which was a mistake. They weren't the typical sliced and breaded or batter dip rings, they were thinly sliced/shaved rings that were tossed in flour and deep fried. They had good onion flavor, hot and crisp for the first few minutes then they became limp. Definitely not was I was expecting and not very good. My steak sandwich was dry, it came with about 2 tbs of sauce and sautéed minced onions. I added ketchup to help with the flavor and moisture. I could have asked for more sauce, but the steak itself was dry. All in, it was okay, not anywhere near what I was expecting since there was a waiting line on a Tuesday.

Staple in the Lehigh Valley. The burgers and onion straws are the go to. Great spot for lunch or dinner.

I've eaten here countless times. Phil is always so upbeat and welcoming! I was in this week for a burger on burger night. The burger was delicious! My issue with their burger night deal is this; their 'onion straws' are gross! When I asked his wife who happened to be our server if could substitute the 'straws' for chips at least, she said no. I know it may not sound like a big deal, but an enjoyable side would have made the burger taste better.

A group of 4 went last night for supper and had a very positive experience. All of the staff were polite and welcoming. Our server, Tina, was speedy, efficient, and courteous. The menu is delightfully old-fashioned, including birch beer, fried pickle chips, bologna sandwich, and other food you would have a hard time finding elsewhere. The onion rings are famous, a small mountain served in a basket. The Monday night special, any burger, a side order of onion rings, and a nice but not too big slice of chocolate cake with vanilla icing, at $15 cannot be beat. Highly recommend for value, great service, food choice, excellent staff and informal, homey atmosphere. No reservations are accepted, so either go after 7 P.M. or be prepared to wait in a row of comfortable chairs just inside the entry doors.

On our way to Zionsville, IN, from Manhattan, Dominic, Tony, and I stopped at this friendly, cozy diner. The staff was warm and welcoming, our waitress delightful. We ordered birch beer on tap. It was the best we've ever had--brewed locally in nearby Pottstown. Entranced by the menu selection, we ordered a delectable liverwurst and onion sandwich, a scrumptious Reuben with flawless fry sauce, and the *BEST BURGER EVER*, Tina's Onion Ring Cheese Burger with Velveeta‼ The perfectly juicy, delectably tasty patty was covered with crunchy onion rings and the incomparable melt of Velveeta. Famous Wert's Fries with lump crab and cheese sauce are well worth their fame. And the tapioca pudding--we got it with whipped cream and cinnamon--was sublime. All the desserts are homemade! Warms my heart to know treasures of deliciousness like Wert's exist. Not to be missed!!!

Awesome burgers & cocktails! ... I love the personal fast service and Love the freshness of all the food. Wert Family are so involved, although we missed seeing Greg's smiling face. Sitting was relatively fast so no reservation needed. High Five & Keep Rockin!

Ew, no! We heard that Wert's was supposed to have the best burgers, so that's what we ordered. First, they put the burgers on Kaiser rolls. Yuck, talk about tasteless and also too big for the burger. The burgers themselves were absolutely disgusting. They tasted like the meat had been in the freezer for 10 years. After 2 bites, I was done.

Service great, food is just okay, price great, staff friendly. I was giddy with the onion rings so I ordered their special. Lol for me it was a lot of onion rings. Next time I'd skip it. The cake was not so great I thought they're store bought.

OMG! You can tell when a restaurant is family owned and run. The smiles are abundant, service is fabulous and the food is off the charts good. Truly, I haven't had a burger that good in many years. Homemade mustard, my husband was cleaning the little container with his finger. we live almost 2 hours away from here, and it's one of those places where you get a hankerin for carrot cake, or the homemade egg nog and you HAVE to go here. Don't pass this place by. We will be back! Our weekend drive to nowhere now has a destination. BTW, we suggest you sit at the bar for the full experience.

The food was good but not great. Placed an order to go and they forgot a burger. I called back and was put on hold for 4 minutes. Call back explained what happened and they would give me a refund and hung up. Called back a third time explained to one of the Wertz's what happened and he stated that they could not give me a refund until Monday ( 3 days later) and wanted me to call back. When I expressed my displeasure they hung up on me. So I blocked the purchase with my credit card company. Bottom line, check your order carefully and if you get home and discover an issue do not expect a resolution for their error.

Ate at work's Café for the first time yesterday March 3, 2021. Had the crab famous crab fries and the pretzel burger. The food was amazing it was so good my whole family enjoyed everything they had. Will definitely be back to try the other burgers they offer. Thank you for the great service everybody was Wearing masks and protecting themselves it was great.

This place had great food! I loved the appetizer fries with crab meat, and they had a great Reuben. My husband liked his burger. My only suggestion bus that if they are going to emphasize their burgers, possibly they could step out of the box and try some of the food truck combinations that are becoming famous. (Goat cheese burgers, fried egg, avocado, sweet and sour--maybe look up gourmet burgers in every and really set yourselves apart, etc). Their burgers are good, I just think they have potential to get more creative. They have wonderful, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.
