Had one of the best steaks for dinner! Got the 18oz NY Strip. I like that they offer red potatoes as a side as that is not a popular side to offer versus the regular potato. The green beans were amazing! Such a great flavor. Overall we will definitely be back! You can tell a lot of love goes into the food.

Just had dinner and was greeted immediately with a wide selection and amazing food. We had the Crab and Alfredo as well as the Spinach Artichoke Dip and Mac and Cheese. Owner was super nice and even threw in a free extra dessert for us. Highly recommend!

I stopped by Wesley’s Grill for a prime steak, as I heard it was a great spot! It did not disappoint. This is a low key place with outstanding food. I ordered the 6 oz prime filet with corn and Mac and cheese. $45 for that meal was a steal. I highly recommend a trip…if you are in for a gourmet dinner! Also got truffle fries to go!

I could smell delicious cooking when I walked in!! I was impressed with the items on the menu I wasn’t expecting to have that many selections of good quality food. We were visiting with relatives here in Bloomington and I just picked out this little restaurant by chance. We are used to high class restaurants in Europe and at first I was disappointed at the ambience. However, we were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality and taste of the food-par excellence! The shrimp tempura is a must as an appetizer. We had different dishes including chicken, snow crabs, shrimp and steak. The Mac and cheese was the best I’ve ever eaten and I am not even a fan of it. Pertaining to the ambiance-I have a few tips for Wesley. An upgrade on the flatware and napkins for dinner and the right tools for the snow crab legs as well as a partial room divider so that the back rooms can’t be directly seen.. Otherwise, this pearl of a restaurant could get a Michelin star for the food!! A definite high recommendation and lots of potential! And excellent food does have it’s price. One more thing- we didn’t know that it is byob or else we would have brought our own wine.

Do yourself a favor and check this place out. It’s exceptional. Met the owner who was the greeter, the waiter and the cook. Super impressed with the professionalism, service and quality of food. I’ll be back.

Finding soul food in IL as a born and raised southerner is impossible in my experience. But I’ve finally found my spot! The owner is kind,keeps the place clean, and was attentive to things like specific allergies. Definitely a must try from me!

Ate there tonight and the food was fantastic! Very impressive Wesley how you really are a one man team!! Plan to be there a while as it takes some time to perfectly cook a steak! We also had the Mac and cheese, green beans, and baked beans.... All delicious!!

I stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The place is small but clean, with a QR code menu and a straightforward setup. Wesley (yes, the namesake) seems to run the whole show himself, host, waiter, and chef, and to his credit, he pulls it off. I ordered the potstickers to start, followed by the ribeye steak with asparagus and potatoes. Everything came out well-seasoned, cooked exactly as requested, and in generous portions. You can tell he takes pride in what he's serving. Service was prompt and friendly. While most of the business appears to be takeout, it still works fine for dine-in. My only knock is that the soft drinks come in cans, and it'd be a nice touch to offer a glass with ice automatically. Prices are on the higher side, but with the quality and portion size, it feels justified. I'll definitely be back, next time with my wife and plan to try the house-specialty mac & cheese.

First, the food was absolutely amazing! The chef clearly knows what he is doing. If I lived nearby I would definitely come back. That said, there are a handful of other things that are just odd about this restaurant. They aren't deal-breakers, but I'd be remiss to not mention them so you can decide for yourself. The "waterfall" as it is called on the restaurants FB page is a large indoor fountain. It's nice and adds to the ambiance, but somehow I was expecting something more impressive from the description. It's also in a strip-mall so you can only get so fancy in that type of space. They don't have any alcohol. After the fact, I realize that there's no alcohol mentioned on the online menu, but that doesn't always mean there isn't any alcohol at all, just that there's a separate drink menu. The drinks they do have are literally generic plastic bottles of water and cans of soda. No iced tea. No glasses. He did bring us a bowl of lemons upon request with our bottles of water. The extra strange thing about no alcohol is that the counter is decorated with wine bottle corks and there are wine bottle decorations hung up on the walls. It was almost taunting us that there was no wine to drink. I've just never in my life encountered a restaurant with this level of menu that didn't serve alcohol, so it never even occurred to me to inquire when I called for a reservation. I had the 1/2lb snow crab, shrimp and fettuccine Alfredo special and my mom had the 6oz prime filet mignon with asparagus and sweet potato. The first serving of asparagus was a bit overdone and really stringy but when he served the food he told us he had already started some more asparagus and the 2nd batch was perfect. The filet was delicious and cooked exactly as she asked and my Mom ate every last bit of it (she would normally leave some edges or whatever if there was too much fat). The snow crab came out of its shell perfectly and tasted very fresh. The shrimp was super yummy. The fettuccini Alfredo was delicious- the best Alfredo I've ever had - very peppery, which I enjoy. My only issue was that some of the shrimp and some of the crab was lukewarm at best when it came out, so basically cold by the time I ate most of it. The air was on the chilly side in the restaurant, so that didn't help at all. I asked for melted butter for my crab and was given quite a tiny amount of melted garlic butter, which was actually yummy, but I needed to ration it or bug him again for more. It also congealed fairly quickly in the chilly air conditioning. Lastly, it seems like this restaurant is a one-man show. Which, if it is, I am honestly impressed, however it makes for somewhat lacking service when he is busy cooking the food and also taking to-go orders over the phone. I'd prefer him to be up-front about this situation, rather than apparently trying to pretend that it's not the case. I'd be more sympathetic from the start rather than feeling deceived.

The food we ordered was delicious. There are some regular priced items on the extensive menu but the meat must be really top of the grade because the prices are astronomical. Also, I think most of the food goes out as carry out. There are some tables and we ate in - but the dining ambiance is pretty bare bones.

Never disappointed with any meal we have ordered from Wesley's Grill . Awesome service, quaint atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Another wonderful meal at Wesley's Grill. Brought some visiting relatives who are ardent foodies from Chicago and they were very impressed how flavorful the meal was and ambiance of the restaurant. Wished we had found this place sooner.

Rated a 3 because we ordered 2 meals. One of which was fantastic and the other was actually pretty bad. This is NOT the place to order baked chicken. It was completely flavorless like two day old leftover chicken flavorless. So it may have been precooked and finished under a broiler. If it wasn't pre-cooked there was something wrong with it. The sides were both very good. However, my husband ordered the pork chops and Mac n cheese. It was delicious! Super juicy, very tender and seasoned to perfection. I'd go back again though because it looks like the specialty was steaks and pork. Nice little restaurant with young entrepreneurs which is what we like to support.

Now this place was extremely surprising. While traveling we googled "food" and this place popped up. This is the best hidden gym I've ever seen. It's so nice in this place, the atmosphere is soft and the food is A+. I order the seafood boil and it's was delicious and fresh!! Whoever the owner is did an amazing job with this one. The food selection is great as well. Will make this a stop everytime I travel this way.

Steak was good, good value. BYOB is allowed, so we brought booze to go with our food. Clean place. Dinner was good ribeye and fettuccine, which was a nice combination I'd not tried before.

You know those hole in the walls off the beaten path that have the best food. Yes, that's Wesley's Grill except it's not a hole in the wall. Nice interior, super clean including the restrooms and the service was impeccable, especially with my indecisiveness. We stopped in for lunch and had the ribeye and fried chicken sandwiches, and we've never had sandwiches taste so good. The sauces were in house made and yummy. Food was so good we planned a date night, and we're back for dinner. Let's see how this goes.

Worth the hype - great food, clean and nicely decorated restaurant. Customer service was outstanding. If you want cheap, bland food go to McDonald's. This a a great locally owned place worth the price. Bonus points for their takeout containers! Aluminum pans are great for heating leftovers in the oven and are recyclable - we will be back!

The food was really good. Service was great and the ambiance was relaxing. Only down side wish there were servers and in house wine/beer menu.

I really wanted to like this place, but was sorely disappointed. Maybe they were just having a bad night, but I am unlikely to give it another try. We waited well over an hour for our food even though my husband and I were the only customers for the first hour we were there (with reservations at 6:30 pm on a Friday night). When the food finally arrived, it was definitely not worth the wait. We both ordered the NY Strip medium rare with Mac & Cheese, and a side order of shrimp. The steak was super fatty, basically raw on inside, and absolutely scorched in the outside like it had been dropped directly onto flaming hot coals. The char on the outside overpowered the taste and made it almost inedible. The Mac & Cheese had a nice flavor but was also overcooked to a crisp. The cheesy sauce dried up and a lot of the macaroni formed a crispy crust that stuck to the sides of the dish it was baked in. At least the shrimp was good. I hope for their sakes they work out whatever problems they had in the kitchen that night.

Be sure to ask for more details of the food that you are about to purchase when you visit this restaurant! The menu does not provide complete information. The two small chunks of snow crab claws in the baked cheese macaroni do not qualify as Snow-crab-Mac with three small shrimp‍ on the side with bottled water for $25.00 was disappointing! You have been warned the pictures on this app are deceiving! I will credit the one-man host/server/cook & manager for great customer service with the one customer in the restaurant (me)! If there was an option for a half-star I would have selected that choice! All I could hear in my mind was my mother's voice "You Better Not Waste That Food!" Otherwise, I would have left shortly after I took my seat and the food arrived!

Food was good as hell, and Wesley was cool too. I got the steak, shrimp and mac and it was good. I originally wanted to try the lobster , steak and shrimp Mac but he was out which sucked but i didn't really mind. Otherwise this place was nice, I also wish you get the whole entire steak + bone but he cuts it up for you.

I checked out this place because of the great reviews and it did not disappoint! It is owned and operated by Wesley and the food is amazing. I ordered the Salmon and shrimp combo and the salmon literally melted in my mouth. The grilled asparagus was absolutely delicious! I'm in town for a few days for work and plan to go back tomorrow and will make this my go to place whenever I'm in town,which will be at least one week every month. I highly recommend Wesley's Grill!!

Over priced, and owner is nasty. I wrote a comment online saying that I thought the menu items were too expensive, and the owner messaged me calling me a clown, a loser, and a broke bum. How unprofessional.

Dont the outside scare you away, the food is definatley worth it. I got the Prime Rib that was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I am not sure if there is a Eddy V's in the area but i paid triple for my prime rib there and it doesnt hold a candle to what I had today. Do yourself a favor and just see for yourself.

Tried for dinner tonight. Mac n cheese with tempura shrimp and the baked chicken with green beans and sweet potatoes. The mac was some of the best we've ever had and the chicken was fall of the bone and juicy. Wesley appears to be a one man show but is serving up delicious food.

ruined our Thanksgiving waited over an hour . got 2 inedible turkey wings for not expected a tablespoon of mac and cheese some greens maybe collard for a lot of money. I think he has a small oven and a hot plate to cook on. I watched for over an hour no employees. no culinary anything on his resume. I felt conned. Never ever again will I step foot in this place. If you give him a bad review he attacks you. I waited months to do this because I was to angry to even write this at the time. place was clean

Wesley cooked the perfect steak! Paired with the tempura shrimp and a bottle of wine that we brought, it was the perfect date night.. I can't wait to go back!

We had a fantastic experience at Wesley's Grill tonight. The food was so very good, we had the chicken Alfredo, salmon and shrimp, and the pork chop. The sides were great too. Wesley cooks and waited the table himself. It feel like such personal service. The ambiance is very nice with smooth jazz and an indoor waterfall. Thanks Wesley! We will be back!

I had heard people talking about this place for some time The story about a young, self-taught chef trying to build his dream made me really want to love this place. But sadly I can't recommend it. The prices are sky high for the product and the atmosphere in the restaurant is a little sad. You have to purchase water. No wine so byob. A steak is priced beyond what you pay in most other local restaurants and while good. .nothing that really wows! If you are paying that much it needs to the highest quality and be served in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Truly needs to focus on vleaning the place.I can name 3 restaurants in town with better quality food, lower prices and better atmosphere. I want this young man to succeed. Someone help him!

My two sisters and I were looking for a place to have a meal on the night after Christmas and the youngest had experience with Wesley's Grill. What a cool little place! It has the relaxed look and demeanor of a sandwich shop - but the food is HIGH END and top-notch! I had an amazing NY strip steak, perfectly cooked with delicious sides. They also offer other steaks, whole lobster and other seafood and chicken dishes and it appeared they're well-known for their mac 'n cheese. If you want liquor or wine they have a reciprocal agreement with the bar next door ("Lucky 7s"); you can start a tab there and "Lisa" will automatically come back to Wesley's to refill your bar order. Great find - Wesley himself runs the whole operation, including taking table orders. Support small business people!

Pricey. $22 for chicken, corn & baked potato. What was served was fried chicken thigh w/ leg (was not asked if dark meat was ok), ordinary corn & very good baked potato. Wesley was as efficient & pleasant as he could be, but was alone & doing all the work himself.

My family was staying in Bloomington for a night on our way home to Michigan for the holidays. We have lived in a lot of cities: Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, Nashville, and now Fort Worth. We love fine dining and steak, and we'd been on the road all day, so we wanted a good meal. We were about to make a reservation at a local steakhouse called Jim's Steakhouse, but decided to ask the front desk attendant for a recommendation. He said if we wanted a good steak, we should go to Wesley's, so we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did. We had a filet, a NY strip, a pork chop, fried chicken, mac and cheese, fried shrimp, and cheesecake. The strip was the best I've ever had at any restaurant. The beef is USDA prime. My son, who is a pork chop snob, said the pork chop was the best he'd had. I've never had fried chicken and mac and cheese this good before. Everything was cooked perfectly. A couple things to note. First, it is not your typical white tablecloth restaurant. It is small and intimate, with just a few tables, and Wesley is a one man show (cook and server). Because of this, it doesn't have the frills of a "fancy" restaurant, but we loved this about the place. We actually got to know Wesley a little bit (he's young, all self taught, etc.). Second, it is BYOB. There is a bar right next door, where you can get basic drinks, but if you want your favorite drink, you should stop at a local liquor store. Third, I saw a couple reviews where people claimed the prices were high. The prices are very reasonable considering Wesley uses USDA prime steak (the best quality beef) and high grade seafood. My guess is the people leaving these reviews don't understand the difference between prime and choice and the value of other high end ingredients. For us, it's worth the extra to pay more for higher quality meats. In any event, we loved the restaurant, loved taking to Wesley, and will definitely be back again on our way through Bloomington.

We was passing through from Texas. I will say the food was amazing. Don't let the prices differ you. The portions are large enough to share and worth the price.

I've been eating wesley's grill getting the buffalo chicken mac forever it's my go to. i've tried steaks and never been disappointed. I decided to switch from the buffalo sauce to caribbean jerk and was even happier which i didn't think was possible. Every time i eat Wesley's grill not only am i not disappointed but i'm satisfied more and more every time.

Food was great. Service took a little longer but since the food taste so good I didn't mind it at all.

If you live within 50 miles of this place,, you need to go! What a menu! Best meal I've had it, Bloomington, Illinois. By a lot!

The food was amazinggg! I got the salmon & shrimp combo with esquites and mac n cheese and it was one of the best meals i've ever had. if i didnt live in Champaign, i would definitely be ordering food at this restaurant more frequently. Service was amazing as well.

Some of the best seafood in town! The prices are very fair considering how good the quality is. You can also tell the effort that's put into every order and its not just pushed out fast. My only hopes is at some point fountain drinks are offered, but for now Ill be happy with the great food.

Tried Wesley's for the first time this week and it was fantastic! I would have taken a picture of our food except we immediately dug in since it looked so good. Chicken + shrimp combo and the filet mac and cheese were both tasty - and the sauces just made them even better! Looking forward to ordering again in the future

Best ribeye steak, chicken and macaroni I ever had in my whole life. The spicy garlic sauce was also very good.

We had the pork chops and filet both perfectly cooked. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. Delivery was 20 minutes earlier than projected. Great experience!

I did the Carry-Out and the food was fresh, delicious. I like the portion sizes. I would definitely recommend the Baked Mac and lemon pepper chicken. I'll be back!

The food is great! I always love love love the oven baked Mac with Buffalo sauce. Highly recommend for a date night in (or out). Sometimes I order my food right as I'm craving it so the wait can be a little bit longer than other times (he's busy, can't hate) but if I'm able to order in advance it's always ready for pick up/ delivered by the asked time.
