An after-work favorite on Wednesdays, this neighborhood market focuses on Lowcountry growers plus vendors who source from nearby farms. Charleston City Paper highlights its growth and community vibe; the City of Charleston confirms the 2025 run beginning April 23, with hours aligning to the South Carolina Department of Agriculture listing.

Small but nice. Great selection of fresh vegetables.

Great little farmers market. There are a few speciality stands with bread, soaps, meat, and other items. The two produce stands are full of amazing produce! Best to get there early, especially on hot days! Most stands accept cards and cash, but it's best to ask ahead of payment.

I haven't been in a while because I moved from the area but it's got a lot of options to choose from. Some vendors come and some vendors go but others are always there. It's a great place to bring your kids and even leashed dogs are allowed

Blue grass music and a beautiful setting make it a pleasure to shop for fruit, vegetables, bread, pasta and more out in the sunshine at Ackerman Park.

Yelp
Today was the first West Ashley Farmer's Market of the (short) Fall season and I attended. It's held in Ackerman Park, which is just off Hwy 61/St. Andrews Blvd. The Farmer's Market was supposed to begin on September 14, but was rained out. It's new in 2016, and for the first year and first market, the organizers and City of Charleston did a great job. It's part of the city's efforts to revitalize West Ashley. I saw many vendors who are mainstays at other Farmer's Markets, such as Rio Bertoili pastas and Normandy Farms bread. You could buy honey, cheese, breads, dips, fruits, veggies, and even meats. If you're hungry, options like Roti Rolls, King of Pops, and Gelato are there. Hopefully more ready-to-eat food options will be added in the future. Parking at the park can be a challenge, so I suggest parking at the Food Lion/CVS building and just walking behind it- you'll see the Farmer's Market. I will definitely return to this Farmer's Market when I'm free on Wednesday afternoons. It's a great addition to West Ashley.

Yelp
I love that there is now a WA farmers market. It's not as big as Marion Square, but it's also not super tiny! I love that there is easy parking, music, local items, and food trucks. Way to go West Ashley! I'd love to see this continue to grow.

Yelp
What a great addition to the local farmers market scene. There was a wide mix of produce, food products (pickles, pies, baked goods, pasta, honey), and food vendors (BBQ, popsicles, Roti Rolls, cotton candy). The setup allowed a large number of vendors to be spread out over a field so it was not all jammed up with people, strollers, dogs, etc. Live music added to the fun and tables, chairs, and benches allowed lots of options to sit, eat, and people watch. Dog and child friendly. Parking was a piece of cake (use the old Ryan's' slot on 61).

Yelp
I was so excited the first time I heard WA was getting its own farmers market. I have been to several around town but I think this is my fav (though slightly biased, I live in WA). It is easy to get to, in Ackerman park near the old Ryans. Has enough parking, a variety of vendors, musical accompaniment and places to sit, relax and enjoy. And as is a must in a farmers market... fresh lemonade.

Yelp
I am super stoked that they finally put a farmer's market in West Ashley! Unfortunately it is a lot smaller then some of the other ones in the area. Hopefully next year they will get some more vendors. Parking is very accessible, and that's a major perk! Downtown and James Island's farmers markets are a nightmare to find free parking. They had a hand full of food vendors and three Farm stands. I barely made it past the butcher and bee bakery stand! Everything looked amazing but I was cutting carbs this week (I bet they hear a lot of that lol). They had a lot to choose from at two of the farm stands which is surprising at this time of the year and perhaps a bit suspicious. The one with mainly radishes and greens was a bit more realistic. I did like the layout since it's just out in a field the stands are spaced nicely. There are also no sidewalks to be jammed into. Yay no strollers running you over! That also means they have plenty of room to grow!

Yelp
Went to the Sunday Farmer's Market today. Smaller than the Wednesday Farmer's Market but great, vendors and live music. There seemed to be a steady crowd and it was fun having the soccer game going on in the background. I can definitely see the Sunday Farmer's Market growing larger in the near future.

Yelp
I am a sucker for a good farmers market, so when I heard that the WAFM was open on a Sunday for a few hours, I wanted to stop by and check it out. Normally open on a Wednesday afternoon, this particular time was much more convenient for my daughter and I to enjoy. Her favorite part was the bounce houses that were available, and we spent more time doing that than wandering the market. The market did have several vendors that are not typically available at other markets in or around town, so it was nice to see some new faces, while also being able to approach regular local favorite vendors that never miss a chance to come and show off their wares. Live music was also playing, and there was a lot of crowd interaction which produced dancing in the grass. I look forward to this market opening up again in the spring time, and am glad that a nice farmers market has finally come to West Ashley.

Yelp
Went today for the first time and had a great time. People are friendly and everything is fresh. I can't believe we haven't gone before. I WILL BE BACK!!

Yelp
A great place to grab fresh fruits and veggies on a beautiful Fall Sunday afternoon. I just moved to West Ashley so I was very excited to have a farmers market in walking distance of my home! This market is smaller than others I've been to in cities but it is just beginning still and did have a lot of great options! There were a few farms selling fresh produce (my produce from them has lasted a while without molding or rotting), a man selling farm fresh eggs (amazing!) as well as a bunch of food vendors selling fresh food and I believe an olive oil vendor, a kombucha vendor, etc. I will say my one disappointment stems from not having freshly cooked food options available to me as I don't eat gluten, meat or dairy. My husband loved the various options for him but I couldn't easily find something to eat. I did go on Sunday however and have heard Wednesday is bigger. But I work on Wednesday's and I cannot find the hours for the market, if anyone knows Wednesday's operating hours please respond to my review! I will definitely be getting my produce from this market on a weekly basis and will continue to hope for more food options for me!!
