The Best Restaurants In Aruba - Aruba - The Infatuation

"The West Deck is built on—you guessed it—a large deck overlooking the water at Governor’s Bay Beach outside of downtown Oranjestad. It’s the ultimate laid-back spot for an easy dinner after a long day in the sand or before a late-night swim at the pool. Plus, if you’re dying for one last taste of Aruba before you drag yourself onto your flight home, West Deck is less than 10 minutes away from the airport. Their zippy garlic shrimp, slightly spicy jerk chicken wings, and crispy Balashi-battered grouper fingers are hands down better than anything you’ll find in the terminal." - jacqueline dole

West Deck had decent food with an amazing ambiance. The restaurant is directly on the beach. The service was good too. During our visit they had live music. Overall great vibes.

We had a party of 15 came at 6:30 for dinner and was able to get right in. They treated us like we were family. We were sat at a square table that we all could sit at underneath some amazing trees and beautiful lights. The staff was truly amazing and made us all feel Very special. The food was amazing even though I didn’t take pictures. Everybody’s food was great. The drinks were perfect. Highly reccomend!!! The fried grouper was a highlight Melting in our mouth. The pan fried panta was also amazing.

What a delightful place for lunch. We stumbled on this place by chance. There were only two tables occupied when we arrived. Had a meal that was more like a fancy restaurant than tavern food we expected. We watched planes coming in for landing at the nearby airport while we enjoyed a relaxing lunch. Apparently we just beat the rush, because by the time we left, the place had filled up!

The food at The West Deck was really good and tasty. The dishes were creative and full of flavor, with something a little different in every bite. One standout was the pasta salad with beets—absolutely phenomenal. A silent delight that caught me by surprise. Their hot sauce also deserves a shoutout—spicy, bold, and really brought the dishes to life. The location right off the water made the atmosphere amazing. Great views, good food, and a chill island vibe all in one spot.

I had the Frekendel special - which was fishcakes with rice, banana hasa, funchi and macaroni salad - it was really good and tasty. Enjoyed a Dushi Tera cocktail with the meal. Ordered samoosa's for take away and they were also very good. The restaurant is on the beach, which gives such a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and service was great.

I love this place the food is amazing and has great flavors. My most favorite is the Panga pan fried , the wings are great. Among others. It's the first to visit and in-between for lunch. And last visit on the way out of our two week visits.

West Deck offers a great view while dining. We enjoyed the Surf & Turf, Red Snapper, and a Pina Colada. The service was okay, but view made up for it.

Great waterfront restaurant with great food. We visited this restaurant after taking a boat charter for most of the day. The boat picked us up and dropped us off right on the beach here. The restaurant cooked the fish that we caught for $17 each which I felt was reasonable. The side dishes we ordered were all delicious and so were the ribs that my wife ordered (she does not eat fish). I highly recommend checking out West Deck whether you have your own fish to cook or not!
