The Best Restaurants In Aruba - Aruba - The Infatuation

"The West Deck is built on—you guessed it—a large deck overlooking the water at Governor’s Bay Beach outside of downtown Oranjestad. It’s the ultimate laid-back spot for an easy dinner after a long day in the sand or before a late-night swim at the pool. Plus, if you’re dying for one last taste of Aruba before you drag yourself onto your flight home, West Deck is less than 10 minutes away from the airport. Their zippy garlic shrimp, slightly spicy jerk chicken wings, and crispy Balashi-battered grouper fingers are hands down better than anything you’ll find in the terminal." - jacqueline dole

The West Deck is a great spot to try local Aruban cuisine while dining right by the water. The menu is large but fairly simple, with a mix of traditional Aruban dishes and familiar staples, so there’s something for everyone. We ordered several appetizers, their specialty burger, and a surf and turf to share between the three of us. For apps, we had the keshi yena, fried funchi, pan bati, and tenderloin pinchos. All of them were great and perfectly sized for sharing between 3–4 people. The surf and turf was good but nothing particularly memorable. The burger, however, was really good — though I was surprised it didn’t come with fries, which I assumed it would. Service was solid, and the atmosphere is excellent. It’s laid-back and casual, and eating right by the water with a nice breeze really adds to the experience. Overall, even though the dishes are on the pricier side, I really like The West Deck and would definitely come back. My recommendation is to order a bunch of appetizers and share — they’re better than the entrées and a much better value too.

This was out 3rd visit to West Deck. Views are always absolutely stunning. Great spot to catch a romantic sunset pic. Or just enjoy the views while you dine. The food is so delicious and drinks are spot on. This time Pierce was our waiter and he made our visit to fun. He recommended some dishes that definitely did not disappoint. Every time we’re in Aruba this is a must stop!

I tried to get photos but my family destroyed the food! We decided to get a bunch of appetizers and try everything. The Garlic shrimp 10/10! The wings cooked perfectly. My son got his naked 9.5/10. The mahi-mahi was our least favorite I would say a 6/10. It needed more seasoning. The calamari was cooked very well and no fishy taste.9/10. My son got a full rack of ribs and he did “the fat boy dance” the entire time he ate. He said a 20/10. I had the fried chicken sandwich. It was a little blan at first but the brought us pickled onions and it went from a 5/10 to an 8.5. The coconut shrimp I was told was delicious and a 9/10. I don’t eat coconut. The key lime pie and the Oreo cheesecake 🤯 delicious!!!!

Stumbled upon the West Deck after a day of air travel and it exceeded our expectations. Yummy wings and some of the most perfectly cooked shrimp cocktail I’ve ever had. We tried the local dish keshi yena (chicken and gouda), which was to die for. Staff was extremely kind and accommodating, especially our server, Chantal who made us a list of recommendations when we told her it was our first time to the island. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a casual, island vibe.

✨ On my vacation to Aruba, I visited this seafood restaurant and it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, and the place is set right in front of a breathtaking ocean view. The best part? While your food is being prepared, you can actually jump into the water and relax. Such a unique experience! Highly recommended! 🌊🍴🐟

West Deck is always my first stop upon landing from the airport. The food is delicious and I especially appreciate that they offer authentic local hot sauce, which adds a delightful kick to my meal. Get ready to enjoy beautiful views of the ocean that make for a perfect dining experience. The prices are reasonable compared to the hotel area of the island. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy local Arubian food!

We got the Caribbean plate and it was tasty, and good portions for two. We also tried the signature cocktail of passion on deck which was good too. Staff were friendly. The location and view were great too.

West Deck had decent food with an amazing ambiance. The restaurant is directly on the beach. The service was good too. During our visit they had live music. Overall great vibes.
