The West Deck is a great spot to try local Aruban cuisine while dining right by the water. The menu is large but fairly simple, with a mix of traditional Aruban dishes and familiar staples, so there’s something for everyone. We ordered several appetizers, their specialty burger, and a surf and turf to share between the three of us.
For apps, we had the keshi yena, fried funchi, pan bati, and tenderloin pinchos. All of them were great and perfectly sized for sharing between 3–4 people.
The surf and turf was good but nothing particularly memorable. The burger, however, was really good — though I was surprised it didn’t come with fries, which I assumed it would. Service was solid, and the atmosphere is excellent. It’s laid-back and casual, and eating right by the water with a nice breeze really adds to the experience.
Overall, even though the dishes are on the pricier side, I really like The West Deck and would definitely come back. My recommendation is to order a bunch of appetizers and share — they’re better than the entrées and a much better value too.
