West Hollywood Park

I live in West Hollywood and I absolutely love this park. It’s got great basketball courts, two dog parks, pickle ball, swimming, a fantastic gym, a library, easy parking, and you can walk to Santa Monica Blvd. I bring my pups here almost every day.

The Park is a nice, well-maintained space perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities. It offers great facilities, including a modern playground, courts, and a dog park. The green spaces are a good option to relax and the park often hosts community events. Its location is convenient, with plenty of nearby amenities.

Beautiful and peaceful. Clean environment. Parking is a bit pricey but worth it.

West Hollywood Park offers a fantastic atmosphere! However, the lighting could use some improvement. The park currently uses an ultra-bright light powered by a generator, which is overwhelmingly bright and directly intrusive. It’s bright enough to light up a soccer field! A better choice would be softer, garden-style low lights and spotlights to enhance the natural beauty of the space. The magnificent tree in the park, in particular, deserves its own spotlight to highlight its splendor. On the plus side, there's ample and accessible parking, and the location is conveniently adjacent to both the aquatic park and the library.

I love this park before there is security so I feel safe. The park is well lit and there is a nearby parking garage. I play my gong here sometimes and I like that there is a lot of foot traffic from people going to the bars, restaurants, and clubs nearby.

Well designed park in the middle of a design oasis. Excellent for playing basketball as well as doing calisthenics and barmetrix.

The newly renovated West Hollywood Park looks fantastic. It's not a huge park but manage to include a series of amenities and really feels like a place for the community. Around the beautiful green space is a short trail with some benches. West Hollywood library and Rec Center are on one side of the park, so is a small playground; on the other side are the dog park and basketball practice courts. There is a unisex restroom near the dog park. The park also got a great view of the design center across the street.

Such a beautiful and fun park. The library is gorgeous, the pool is amazingly big, clean, and organized. It's a place where cool parents hang out 🙌

First time at this park and came for the Small Dog Park specifically. I spent 2 hours here and got a good taste of the place. It's a nicer dog park and it was great seeing the dogs sniff around and interact with other dogs. I am a bit more cautious as my dog is still a baby and is not trained off- leash so I'll rather be safe. People tell me they come regularly, no issues. They let their dog run around and it's fine with the occasional calling back their dogs, saying stop, pulling them away, breaking things up. Overall, most people are supervising their dogs with the exception of one or two owners more attentive to their phones. Dog owners are outgoing and love seeing their dogs play. Observations: -Spacious, clean, and regularly maintained as the park has a sign about a regular cleaning schedule. Fabulous! -Filtered water foundation. Impressive! -Different seating options for dog owners to choose. -Most dogs were small except for again, one or two. - A couple rougher play interactions with small dogs and two dog owners left immediately after their dog was mosh pitted and trampled over. - Fresh dog poop along the gated perimeter without being picked up after and many dogs making their rounds sniffing it. -One medium to larger sized dog in this section where there is another area that is more suitable for their dog but the owner apparently said their dog likes to play with small dogs. I did witness this dog loving to chase the smaller dogs and trying to rough play a small dog who was whimpering and scrambling to get up and away from the dog. The owner didn't witness the commotion. I wish the owner just followed the rules and go to the big dog section and find a medium dog to play chase with. The scared dog's owner approached the big dog owner about her dog being large and to take the dog to the large area. the lady just smiled and ignored him. -The park is open space and there's plenty of room to run around, bike, picnic etc. Yes, I would come back to this dog park as a few people I spoke with were friendly and after some time when the big dog left and things died down, I had confidence for my dog to be on the floor and interact more closely with the others.

I just realized I've been to this city park three times but twice during WeHo PRIDE when it was covered with drunken revelers. That really means I've only been here once, right? And it was pretty much empty in the middle of a sunny Friday afternoon except for a homeless guy doing some spontaneous pull-ups (quite impressive since I haven't mastered even one) and a bevy of dog owners coming in and out of the dog run area. Great place to bring your babies, fur and otherwise. The kids playground is wonderful and I love that the dog parks are not just separated by size but are at a safe distance from one another. As always, one uses a dog park at their own risk. My favorite part is the large stairs that are a great addition to one's workout. Good for you, WeHo!

The WeHo public park includes dog park, basketball and tennis courts, play equipment and swimming pool, and it serves a venue for cultural and community events. The park is lack of maintenance, like trash everywhere.

I've seen others express this so I'd like to share my sentiment too. The difference between the owners of the "large" dog park and the "small" dog park section is crazy. I brought my puppy to the large pen because my dog was always fine handling itself with large dogs and he has a strong stature being half American bully mix. However, as soon as we came in, the other dogs snarled, pounced on him and did aggressive play that involved teeth, clawing, and ganged up on my dog. The owners just watched and didn't care. I would step in and try to calm down my dog but the reality was these other dogs were the one starting the aggressiveness so I was blocking the other dogs. It was too much because other dogs ganged up and tossed around my dog like I said. Meanwhile, this lady just walks up to me, not helping and instead asks in the most condescending tone ever, "Oh is your dog not used to rough play?" This ticked me off. Like yes. My dog is, he's been to several dog parks and played around with large dogs but getting ganged up on, trampled, pushed around, bit and clawed by every large dog in here? No. My girl wanted to record but caught on with what was happening and gave an excuse of her needing to use the restroom. We hastily put the leash back on and walked off, needing to deal with the other angry dogs all the way until we went out the exit. We calmed ourselves and my dog down by looking at the rest of the large park. There was a nice lawn and several exercise machines around the area. We actually saw and used a bathroom stall (clean and well-kept for a public park restroom). We also overheard these two women with their dog around our dog's size walking by. One goes "Is this the small dog pen?" "Yeah ew we're not going to that one, it's for babies, we want him to play rough." We were apalled and realized that these owners encourage this violent and aggressive behavior in their dogs over there. We've seen rough play and the actions of the dogs there were much more violent and dangerous it was so uncomfortable to watch. We decided to go to the small dog pen instead and our dog was great here even though he was larger than most. He played around accordingly by running with other dogs and he didn't pounce on them despite them being smaller (compared to the way he was handled by the other larger dogs). Another owner had a ball and it got the attention of most of the dogs as they threw it around. We had a way better experience here and got to sit and relax as we watched our dog interact and play with other well-behaved dogs who were attentively looked at by their owners. This park was beautiful! Had a great time nonetheless, just definitely be wary of those types of owners with large dogs. ‍

Perfect for a 3 year old, swings, slides and parking garage is cheap. Next to the library. Bathroom on site. Dog park a short walk away. Open lawn in front of playground for picnics.

Parking is a pain and you'll prob have to resort to parking at the Pacific Design Center for a flat rate of $15 (after 5) or more. However, the pool here is gorgeous! They are opening to the public soon after two years of being under construction. A bit late, but ready for the summer heat! The pool is on the fifth floor and you'll get incredible views that make up for the pain of parking. Stunning!

I often bring my dog here and I like this dog park out of all the neighboring parks. It's situated right next to a library and you get two hours free parking in the structure if you get your ticket validated by the attendant. They have large spacious grass park, basketball courts, workout machines throughout. For the dogs, there's a separation of the small dogs and big dogs area. They're on opposite ends of the basketball courts. The dog area is covered in fake grass which is cleaned on the daily. So when I go there around noon time, it's usually closed for half an hour for the cleaning. Overall, it's a beautiful community.

We LOVE it when mom and dad takes us here ! the park is divided into little dog and big dog sections which makes us feel safe. sometimes humans let the big dogs come over and there's always a bit of chaos. but it's usually short lived. The park provides lots of doodoo bags and the humans typically do a good job cleaning after their fur babies. we've met lots of friends here. mom seems to really enjoy when we run wild laps around the park because we end up sleeping for the rest of the day.

NOT SAFE. Was here at 11:20am 7/17. two young blonde girls entered park with a full grown CHOW CHOW. myself and two other women's said it was too big for a "small dog park". The young girls said to mind your own business and entered the park. one of them called me an old hag, haha. The girls were belligerent and agressive. I'd guess Chow Chow was, too. myself and the two other older woman left immediately with our small dogs. There is no park authority to insure safety and it is DANGEROUS. DO NOT GO HERE. IT IS UNSAFE FOR SMALL DOGS. AND OLDER PEOPLE.

Our little ones love the dog park here. Plenty of other little fur babies hoping around and chasing balls, living their best life.

Our dogs LOVE this park. It's on the smaller side but it's very clean and well-maintained. The dog owners tend to be more aware of their furry friend so we haven't experienced "issues" like other parks in the city. No fleas, no aggressive dogs, no dogs without an owner nearby, etc. I like to consider this one of the classier parks. Parking can be a struggle but there's a great workaround! Street parking on the nearby cross streets is the best option. There's also a parking garage just past the park, which always has first floor parking and it's cheap. There's also a gym right by the park and they're Playlist is so much fun! I mean, it's West Hollywood, we're just more fun! ;)

I'm visiting West Hollywood while I pet sit for a friend's 9 mo dog. I discovered the small dog park and have been going daily with the pup, the dogs there have been very friendly and their owners are aware of what their dog is doing. The park overall is really nice! Well, today I decided to take the pup into the large dog park (mistake) where he was tumbled and pinned down by a snarling dog, while his owner was immersed in his cell phone. Had to YELL at him to get his attention. Not everyone is a fuggin twat, but if you go, be aware of your dog and his behavior at all times and be prepared to act if things go sideways.

I love their small dog park. They keep it well cleaned and I like that it's fake grass and not dirt. It is a bit noisy being behind the abbey and next to the basketball court but other than that it's great.

Great large park, recently renovated. Large parking lot, two dog parks, basketball courts, kids playground. It also has a Library and swimming pools. Don't forget the new mirrors fixture.

I have gone to this dog park many many times and always love it. however, it's just been getting worst and worst. my dog got attacked by another dog on 12/11/22! the owner just left, without saying anything to me or asking if my dog is okay. he's friend was still there and said "his dog is just territorial of his ball" and i said my dog wasn't near his ball, he was playing with a completely other dog when his dog just ran to him and attacked him. then the friend said "your dog is fine he is just scared" which isn't true because he did get bit by the aggressive dog. i wish i could get the aggressive dog's owner information, since by their friend, the dog has been aggressive and to tell him he shouldn't bring his dog to the dog park.

My new favorite dog park! Just came here for the first time and we love it!!! The size of this park is great and I absolutely love how clean the place is. All the dog owners I see today are very responsible and I had no issues at all. I also like that it's the artificial grass so everything looks clean and neat. There is also so much shade throughout the park so tons of space for me to sit and relax while my dog runs free and enjoys time with her friends. There is no need for me to look for other parks, we found our new and permanent spot.

Wonderful park, especially if you have a pup. They have 2 pristine dog parks (separate spaces for large and small dogs. My little guy LOVED it.

A very cute dog park right next to a library which has free parking for the first hour. There's two caged areas, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. The park seems very well kept with a large area for dogs to run around. There's also doggy bags and water fountains for the dogs to drink from which is very convenient on a hot summer day!

An absolute amazing community of people! The large dog park is the place to be. Amazing dogs, amazing owners. You'll make friends with anyone you talk to!

As most reviews have stated, parking is not easy to find since this dog park is at the corner of two busy streets. Drive straight to the library structure and park there for a free hour. It's a 2 minute walk from the structure to the park. The park area has a grassy area with a few trees, and basketball courts separate the small and large enclosed dog parks. While I did not take our pup into either of the parks since I was training her, they both looked cleaned and the dogs inside seemed friendly enough. Most owners were standing and chatting instead of staring at their phones. It's definitely a good enough park to train at within the area.

The dogs (and most of the people) here are great! Most of the humans are good about picking up their dogs poop too :)

The dog park here is the spot you wanna be at on a Saturday late afternoon if your thing is observing KARENS in their natural habitant. This park has two dog parks- one for small dogs and one for big dogs-some might suggest it's body shaming but safety is key. There will always be some lady with a giant breed as a puppy in the small dog section pissing off nearly everyone and causing real housewives of West Hollywood type drama and vibes. Parking is validated- so there's a plus.

I love the dog park here. It's the best one in LA. Most of the dog parks in LA are dirt, but this one is artificial grass. It's so much nicer and cleaner! I usually go around 6pm. Parking is free for the first hour. If you come at 6, you can get it validated for two hours at the office near the entrance. My boyfriend and I did not know where to get it validated, but a nice man helped us at the exit and told us where to get the parking ticket validated and was nice enough to validate it for us that day. Most of the pups here are all well behaved and love to play with each other. Luna always find a few friends each time she comes.

Fun with happy dogs! A win win situation. The location is also convenient and safe. With this in mind i absolutely recommend a visit or two!

Basically a beautiful park with no rules. There technically are rules and there are rangers at the park, but the park is "self enforced" so nothing is enforced. Want to bring your un-neutered, un vaccinated pit bull into the small dog park? Go for it. Want to bring your toddler to run inside the big dog park? Go for it. Want to watch your dog get mauled cause the owner leave his dog with no supervision at the park and go play basketball next door? This is the place! Rules and laws and there for a reason and some how West Hollywood park believes they are just suggestions.

They made a truly gorgeous environment for FREE. There's water, bags, grass and even Wi-Fi.

Have lived in the area for a few months now and visit this dog park regularly. My dog loves running around here, and I have not seen any issues with other dogs. The people are always friendly. Huge parking structure which is very convenient. I took a star off because there's been a few instances of aggressive and inappropriate homeless in the park or near the parking structure. I usually just stay in the gated dog area until the coast is clear.

Dog parks nice but the few times I've been there people don't pick up after their dog. You can also see on the grass people leave messes. Let's try and keep all parks clean!

My go-to dog park! I live in Koreatown so it's a 20 minute drive but it's completely worth it. Parking is free for the first hour and second hour is free with validation. The park is located on the third floor and there's two dog parks in between the basketball courts; one for small dogs and one for big dogs. The parks are always clean, owners and dogs are friendly, stocked with poop bags and equipped with a clean water fountain! Much better than silverlake in my opinion; silverlake is too dusty and dirty. It's a hassle to clean your dog after and your car gets dirty!

I took my dog here to the small dog area, after about 30 mins the guy in the photo below came in. He had 3 ~70 lb dogs with him and one of them wouldn't stop following and nipping at my puppy. I asked him if he could please pull his dog away as my dog is very afraid of big dogs and I didn't want a fight to happen. He then started screaming at me for 20 mins saying "his dogs were small" when they weren't at all, they were all At least 4x the size of any other dog in the SMALL DOG AREA. I decided to just leave because at this point I was being harassed, and he kept yelling at me as I was walking away out of the park... I obviously will not be returning since people can't follow to rules between a small and big dog area. Don't go here unless you want to put your pup and risk and possibly even yourself. I did NOT feel safe

West Hollywood has finally opened a dog park. They have two separate areas dedicated to large dogs and small dogs alike. We have come here everyday as it is so much nicer than any others in the surrounding area. Artificial turf, many seating areas and hills for the dogs to exercise is amazing. They spent many months building the park and it shows as they did it leave out any details. Great addiction to West Hollywood and for owners of big dogs lol or me.

This park is a pretty nice recreation spot off Robertson. When my friends and I take the workout outdoors, we hit up the pull up bars, which are adjacent to The Abbey. There is an extensive field in which to play team sports, a swimming pool, a playground for kids, and plenty of beautiful and well-kept greenery. Night time provides a nicer experience. It a great time to get a workout in the fresh evening air. It's also fun to get a workout in and see the drunks walking to and from the bars. Warning: the fenced area in the park directly behind the Abbey has been a known hangout for drug dealers supplying the crowd to that bar. LA County Sheriff's has been cracking down on that. Just don't mess with that crowd.

I bring Carlton here at least twice a week. We park by the new WeHo library on the 3rd floor, cross over into the park. My dog loves coming here. The area outside the parking area upstairs (3rd floor) needs a tad of work. Too many homeless folks hang out here and the grass has chicken bones, broken glass, etc. The security guys need to monitor better. They seem to be rather aloof and could care less. They need to get better security people whom care. I walk Carlton to the large dog play area. It has hills and is exceptionally well maintained. It is a 5 star park. My one concern is that not all dog owners are conscientious, watch what their dogs are doing. Too many dogs bite one another and some get hurt. Hence - this is a great place to take your dog but stay with him and watch. Don't just kick back and surf the net. All in all this is a wonderful facility the city has provided. The city needs to better manage the homeless here and mandate pet owners be more vigilant. Solution might be for the security guys to be a tad more vigilant.

I love this park. It's tucked away from the road with a view of the hills. Such a great spot to chill. People are also usually really friendly here.

Small but I like that this is the only park that's clean and not filled with dirt like all of Los Angeles city's dog parks that are just nasty dustbowls.

Despite what some people say, size matters. People love things to be bigger. Cars. Homes. Portions. But that's not necessarily true when it comes to dogs. There are about 90 million pet dogs in the United States, and I daresay some of them are the most beloved members of the households in which they live. Hell, I know a few people who love their dogs more than their kids, although they'd be loathe to admit it. Just like people, those dogs need the occasional day out. Not a walk. Not a romp in the yard. An excursion. And the West Hollywood Dog Park is exactly what they need. There are two parks of equal size and shape that are separated by a basketball court. One is for big/medium sized dogs. The other is for little dogs. Sure, sometimes the littlest pups are full of spunky attitude and yip in the face of a dog ten times their size. But their bark is always worse than their bite. Having a little dog of my own who is terrified of any animal larger than her nine pound frame, this park is a Godsend. Sure, she initially scampers away from all the other little dogs that give chase in hopes of making her acquaintance, but eventually her sociability overcomes her anxiety and she's ready to frolic. The astroturf laid out across the entire area offers the perfect surface for such frolicking. And they even have a water fountain where adults can refill their water bottles and dogs can drink from a refillable bowl. Lastly, I have children as well and have noticed that when people take their kids to the park, they tend to get a tad overprotective. I've even witnessed a few occasions when one parent has scolded another for nothing more than their offspring's dirty looks. But dogs always seem to bring out the best in people, and I've always found everyone at this park to be as friendly as they are engaging, even if one's dog dirty looks another's. So if you want to take your dog out for a playdate and possibly make a new friend of your own, this is the place to do it.

My two small Pomeranian puppies had such a great time here!! All the other puppies were friendly and all the owners kept in eye on their dogs. I will definitely be back here

Cute neighborhood park that we bring our dog too. There's both a big and small section. Friendly people and nice place to lounge. Downfall, all the construction that's going on for the renovation.

WARNING!!! GREAT PARK!!! My pup loves it BUT... There is a HUGE OUTBREAK of kennel cough. I'm using owners to think twice before going if your dog is hacking consistently. Our pup caught it or may have spread it too. It happens, but I'm writing the city to see if they will close the park for two weeks to help stop the spread of this highly contagious bacterial infection. THANK YOU!

This park has an area for both big dogs and small dogs. Both are leash less and gated in so dogs are safe. They gave water, dog poop bags and a trash to dispose of poop. The dogs really have a great time, running and playing. There's not many places to take your dogs off lease so this is awesome

I love taking my dog to this park. He loves playing with all the other dogs. Very well taken care of and very close by. Plenty of parking available and right next to the library.

I love coming here with my dog kiddo! It's super clean and we mostly come during the weekdays when it's not too busy. My only problem is the times in which they choose to clean the dog parks. On the website it states that each dog park is closed for maintenance on Wednesday's. I was there today on a Thursday and they closed the small dog park to clean. So my little pup had to leave, and was really sad because she was having so much fun. I wish they would have a more structured cleaning schedule, so people didn't waste time driving there.

Usually great dogs and great owners. Clean and the turf grass is great. Parking is also pretty easy!

Cute park that I remember came about around the time the library finished around 2011. It has a dog park. It's nice and maintained well.

I have two medium size dogs, very friendly and lovable. Both are about 35 lbs. At first sight, this dog park looks great. It's all grass turf with, it looks like, man made small hills. There is a small dog park and a large dog park. Both small in sq.ft. Just with the size I was already wary of how packed it can get and how that would probably make dogs feel a little anxious. Anyway, I decided to give it a shot and made a visit at the large dog park a couple of times. The first time I went, it was later in the evening. Closer to 8:30pm - 9:00pm. At this time, there were few dogs and the people I met were nice. The second time I went was on a Sunday, mid day. It was completely packed. People weren't friendly whatsoever. Not only that, a white chow attacked my dog for no apparent reason. It was fixated on her and the owner's could've cared less. They allowed this to happen and clearly the dog was not disciplined. Sure enough, he bit my dog by her HEAD and no one helped except for one male who was able to pick up my dog when he got the chance. My dog was bleeding on the side of her head and her lip was scratched. I will never be back here again. Overall, this park is small, over crowded during the day with a mean crowd. Don't go to the dog park if your dog isn't FRIENDLY. How disappointing.

The Weho dog park is my doggo's second home. It's the best dog park in the area. It's not very big but it's all Astro turf, which is great. Your dog won't be a muddy filthy mess after playing here. They have poop bags and a dog water fountain, everything you need. The dogs here are all super friendly and the owners are responsible. In fact, I've made friends with many of them and gotten to know their dogs. It's really a great friendly neighborhood dog park! I'm fortunate to live in the area and be able to take my dog here regularly. My only complaint is that this area in Weho seems to be the new skid row. Lots of homeless people and riff raff around the area. It's across the street from the sheriffs station so it's generally still safe but it can be annoying.

I love seeing all the dogs playing, but i wish it was a bit bigger since there were a lot of people in such a small little space.

Honestly a very good park for small dogs! I brought my 10lb chihuahua here and she loved it!
