West Marine

West Marine is fantastic!! I shop here occasionally but I love my sneakers. I do not own a boat but I use them for bicycling. Sunday early evening when my crank arm and bolt broke off. Luckily I was wearing sneakers/deck shoes made by Gill. They protected my ankle and foot from getting hurt. The 2 hour walk home did not bother me either. Fantastic staff, clean store and tons of inventory.

Pleasantly greeted upon entering, but as I walked around I wondered if they were going out of business. This store was filthy! There are tags, clothing stickers, hangers, left over items thrown anywhere and everywhere in the store. I went to try on a Columbia skirt and the dressing room was an absolute disaster. Piles of clothes all over the bench and door. The biggest dust bunnies I have ever seen all over the store. Handprints on anything glass or mirrored. Tons of lights out or flickering like crazy. Piles of unopened inventory everywhere. The front of the store looks sad. The windows are covered in dirt, the sign is extremely sun faded, the columns are crumbling. I had to leave cause it just felt dirty and I couldn’t focus on anything but the filthy floor and everything else lacking any care. Everything in this store is expensive (and nice quality), but looks like it’s being sold out of a dirty unused warehouse.

They have all the essentials and prices are better than ship stores at marinas.

Great staff who knows what you know what you need and it's usually in stock.

Well laid out. Lots of soft goods - that's what I shop for, but I know their hardware dept is knowledgeable about all the sailing gadgets, line, and accessories. Clean, too.

Very friendly staff who will place special orders on short notice and prices and selection are great.

Went into the store this morning to buy flairs the young man at the register was very nice. The woman working next to him on the other hand was a pc of work. When I asked if they would price match Defender marine the young man said sure but the woman quickly jumped in and said store policy is that I would need to present it to them they would not look it up. She said it always been that way. I guess I can see it if there is a line of people waiting but not the case. Then she said think about it “it doesn’t make good business sense to look that up for you. “ I guess pissing off the customer loosing the sale and customer makes good business sense to this woman. I own two boats a 30 ft cruiser and a 21 foot bow rider I won’t shop at west marine again.

I prefer this location over any in the state. They always have what I am looking for when it comes to shoes and boat necessities. Everyone at this location is nice and helpful. The store is clean and easy to get to as it's on the main strip in Middletown. They have a limited woman's clothing section which I wish they would expand.

Absolutely positively amazing customer service. The staff working here are so knowledgeable about boats, and always help me find the exact specific part I am looking for. It's so rare to find a store where the staff are this knowledgeable and helpful!

Sad to say on multiple occasions received bad experiences with staff here. Rude demeanor and lack of knowledge on basic things. Love the company but not this location.

I went in to just get some boat shoes and ended up getting a few more things. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was looking for something to strip off old boat decals and though it was not in the store they ship it to my house for free. Lani was our cashier, cute.
