West Palm Beach Food Tours is an ingenious way of getting a big picture glimpse of the food scene that this beautiful city has to offer. It's a 3 hour walking tour, where you're a guest at various restaurants. You're given a private dining experience, and bites from each place. The locations, the food, and the journey tell a comprehensive story of our city.
The first stop for me was Johan's Joe for a traditional Swedish "Fika" or teatime. My boyfriend frequents Sweden and he was so impressed by this! We enjoyed delicious bold and naturally sweet Swedish coffee, almond horseshoes dipped in chocolate, and balls of chocolate rolled in coarse sugar. It really sent a very fun tone for the tour!
The second stop was The Blind Monk. It's a hip wine bar, decorated with bottles and corks off the beaten path. Here, the chef prepared an ahi tuna and mango tostada and a small sample of a Cuban sandwich, prepared with house made mustard! It was accompanied by a prosecco mojito! (Yes you get a beverage, and several for a slight upcharge).
Next, we went to Hullabaloo, a restaurant I frequent on my own accord! We sat in the gorgeous outdoor area and enjoyed chicken meatballs and brussel sprouts coated in bacon aioli! The chef come out to speak with us personally. Great experience.
Then we were off to Pizza Girls! Authentic pizza with a cute open restaurant run by two pizza girls (one from philly, one from New York). I had the Manhattan pizza (a meat pizza) and was generously given a whole slice. I was very impressed with the pizza, which I hadn't experience yet!
Next we crossed over to Pistache, a french restaurant for some roasted cauliflower and broccolini served over a bed of basil aioli and topped with Parmesan! A very gorgeous dish and generous portion!
We ended the tour with Ganache bakery, where we were served fresh coconut water and key lime pies made with a shortbread crust! It was the perfect end to a perfect tour. Here, we all reflected on our favorite restaurant and bites! I highly recommend this tour, and that you do it with friends, loved ones, or both! Pack sunscreen, and tell Kristl I say hi! :)
