10 Airbnbs Near Great Hiking Trails - AFAR

"Housed in the 1901 Annandale Lighthouse, this 70-foot-tall tower—recently moved 100 feet inland to escape erosion and refreshed with new interiors—has a cabin-like feel with exposed beams often signed by visitors and interior views that look up into the open bones of the tower. Nearby is a portion of the Island Walk, and the surrounding Confederation Trail offers flat terrain; hiking roughly 7.5 miles along that section brings you to the town of Montague and its pair of craft breweries." - Nicholas DeRenzo

My family stayed for three nights: Rooms were amazing, beds comfortable, breakfast did not disappoint, beach access is great, staff is friendly but not intrusive, just a beautiful spot. Would absolutely recommend and will return. The museum is interesting, and feels authentic. St Marks Ceilidh on Thursday nights is nearby and offers an amazing musical experience if your schedule allows for it.

On our East Coast RoadTrip, we went to specifically visit the lighthouse. We had a great visit - having seen a few lighthouses, this one is the tallest in PEI, set among dune habitat. The lighthouse is now a museum with great historical and lighthouse information, and we were thrilled to access the top level and see/stand next to the light. The staff were friendly snd kind… if you love lighthouses and/or local history, the drive to this location is worthwhile.

If you're exploring Prince Edward Island's west coast, be sure to visit West Point Lighthouse Inn! Our family stayed for a night in Room 25, enjoying a breathtaking sunset at the lighthouse. The room was very clean, and the staff were welcoming. Chef Juliet even surprised me with a freshly made cheese and ham biscuit when she heard my daughter had missed breakfast—a thoughtful and delicious gesture!

Very nice place. Staff friendly and helpful. The room is beautiful with a stunning view. With full access to the tower even better. The climb is not for everyone. Well worth it.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I've been trying for over a year now to get refunded from West Point Lighthouse. I canceled my stay over 3 months in advance and was told I would not get charged. I then still got charged and they have still not refunded me what they wrongfully charged me for. I have attempted over a dozen calls in the last year, over 40+ message via FB trying to request the refund, gone through the better business bureau and they still don't acknowledge or will fix this error. This place is a major SCAM! I'm now having to bring this to small claims court. I travel for a living and have never in my life experienced this level of disrespect, unprofessional, and lack of support from anyone. Good Luck if you book with them and ever have to cancel.

We toured and enjoyed the unique features (living quarters) as it made for a larger lighthouse and stunning beach. With the added guest rooms, it looks like would be a wonderful stay.

Beautiful place with a spectacular view. Peaceful rest and amazing staff. In addition you can tour the lighthouse with PEI history. Do not pass on this gem.

We visited inside the lighthouse briefly The coast is nice, heavy fish smell, beach seems man-made One of a very few beaches that allow dogs during the summer months

Yelp
A beautiful place to stay right on the beach. We chose to stay in the lighthouse. It is a quaint room with such high ceilings and an attached bath. We went straight to the beach after checking in. There are lifeguards on duty at the Provincial Park beach. It was a beautiful evening. We must have been there over an hour. On Monday nights the restaurant on the wharf is closed. There was an option for ham and scalloped potatoes in the common room. We went to the O'Leary Co-op for supper and snacks. It was fun choosing as the tower room does not have a fridge. The quick supper meant we had time for a long walk on the beach. We got back in time to climb the tower to the top of the lighthouse. It was beautiful! Tim got a couple of sunset shots. We slept well. The bed was comfortable , but the wind and rain was loud. I could hear the surf with all the windows closed. It felt cosy. There was a TV on the wall above the wardrobe but we did not watch it. There is so much natural beauty surrounding this Inn. The breakfast was good the next morning. There were fried potatoes, boiled eggs, French toast, cereal options, bread and bagels, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, and juices. Check out was a breeze!
