Variety of cake ball flavors, great breakfast sandwiches and cannabis all in one establishment! They serve local favorite Dark Matter Coffee! This place is a must try!

Does not look like many people know about this place. Surprised it is so empty at happy hour every time we go. Happy hour 3-6pm everyday. Mushroom Focaccia was the best. Lot of bakery variety as well.

A coworker recommended this place and I’m glad she did! The staff was very nice and talked me through some of the menu items. I ordered a latte with cinnamon and a mushroom sandwich. Both were delicious. I sat in a booth to work and the staff came and checked on me every once in awhile. I went back and ordered a triple chocolate cake ball and it was phenomenal. They have all day appetizers as well as drinks, making it a trendy place.

Alittle intimidating walking in but was pleased to see a fun modern atmosphere! I received 2 donuts, a classic pink, and a crème brûlée wheelie and was blown away with both. Great prices too! I just moved away from the area but will be back when I visit home. The one suggestion it should be open at 7am for the morning rush. Other than that perfection!

I went at night with a friend since we had been wanting to check it out for a while now. The palce is nice looking and the seating was comfortable. The pasteries we got were tasty except one was clearly much better than the other. At night they serve alcohol so we got two cocktails. They were $12 each which was kind of pricy and I feel like I could’ve gotten better elsewhere. The drinks were also not well advertised. At the counter there is nowhere that shows the drink menu unless u find the little menus sitting by the cash register. Also, I don’t think they advertised the fact that they are essentially a bar at night well at all. I think this is why it was pretty quiet and dead in there. I would say come back for the pasteries and go elsewhere for the alcohol. I’m sure the place is great during the day, but at night it just wasn’t it.

Great staff and food. They have a large bar in the middle with booths and bar stools around the outside. Also a big patio for summer. We came for breakfast - they had coffee, tea, cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and donuts. Lots of cake balls. Cookies and cakes. For lunch they have sandwiches.

I found this place through the too good to go app.I walked in and was warmly greeted and received my order. Wow I was delighted. The strawberry almond Danish was outstanding, I brought the rest of the pastries to my nursing staff the next day. The red velvet donut had high remarks, the savory bacon roll was split between two of them and they requested more. The other pastries were also well enjoyed. Can't wait to go back. Looks like a great place for happy hour.

West Town Bakery opened another location! They have branched out to the suburbs and created an awesome space with a connection to OKAY dispensary. This place is awesome. The bakery continues to impress and by the way has the most FABULOUS gluten free selections, I LOVE the cake balls! There is also a very cool inviting lounge attached to OKAY which I highly recommend visiting as well. Now I hear they are expanding and opening a new location in Evanston in early 2024, can't wait to see that. Nice job West Town, keep up the good work, I will see you soon!

Yelp
The cake balls at West Town Bakery are hands down some of the best you will ever try! Run don't walk to get them! The French toast is one of the absolute best! I also love the vanilla sprinkle and the Reese's pieces one! They are a touch pricey, but so worth it! Everyone is really nice there too!

Yelp
I wanted to like this place as I'm always looking for new coffee spots and what could be better than coffee and baked goods. While my husband liked his espresso, my latte was meh at best. The food was not particularly good. On the positive side, the people working were exceptionally nice. The order taker/sandwich maker was particularly nice so much so that I can overlook their lack of acknowledging my request for coffee AFTER lunch. As for the food, my avocado toast tasted ok but I was disappointed by the old brown avocado. My husband said his butterfinger cake pop didn't taste like butterfinger, I thought it did. My Andes Mint cake pop was overly rich, would've preferred a lighter bite, I could only eat about half of it. I might return for Bingo night, Trivia night, or movie night. Night times are probably better there as they have a well stocked bar.

Yelp
Was in Wheeling for work and was so excited to see this place so close to the hotel! I looked online ahead of time and could not stop thinking about getting a salmon bagel and a latte all week leading up to the travel. Upon entering the bakery, I was pleased to see that the dispensary was clearly separate from the baker. As someone who doesn't smoke or partake in THC, I was glad to see this. From there I made my way into the rest of the bakery and was all ready to order but was unfortunately told that all of their sandwiches were out of stock. I ordered a plain latte, at which point I learned they're in the process of getting a new order of items and should have their supply problems sorted out shortly. My latte was okay, the espresso tasted a little burnt and they only had skim milk which didn't do much to mask the burnt flavor. I gave 3 starts because the place was super clean and the guy taking my order was soooo polite! I may be in Wheeling again soon and plan on giving them another try!

Yelp
The person who helped us was so friendly. She let us know she made a great latte so we went with an iced mocha to share! The lattes were some of the best we've had and she even split them into two separate cups for us!! Super thoughtful! My husband wanted to try the original donut and I had to try the Dark Matter Donut!! Both of the donuts we got were very tasty! Cannot wait to come back again soon to try out some more menu items! They had a decent selection even though we went around 6pm! The serve Dark Matter coffee and the pastries are made at their downtown location! Great experience overall!

Yelp
Nice spot to enjoy a delicious array of baked goods from cake balls to croissants to danishes to donuts in a spacious setting with plenty of parking. In addition to a large dining area, they also have a lounge as well which is decorated nicely and filled with comfortable furniture and an assortment of board games. The baked goods I tried here were all delicious and filled with plenty of high quality ingredients (you pay a bit more, but in a chocolate danish you'll have plenty of chocolate chunks inside). They tasted quite fresh and had good textures to match, like the yeast donut was pretty fluffy and the muffin had a good level of chewiness. The flavors were pretty distinct and I didn't find anything too sweet. The drinks were also pretty good as well, where the coffee was pretty smooth and not really bitter, and the hot chocolate had a nice strong flavor of chocolate that went well with the whipped cream on top. I didn't try any of the sandwiches or other kitchen items on this trip but they looked to be prepared nicely and with a good sized portion. Overall, a nice place to enjoy a casual baked good and cafe drink in the Wheeling area. The prices are similar to what you'd find at Starbucks and the quality of the food reflects this as well. Service is friendly and prompt.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee shop that serves Dark Matter Coffee. Delicious cake balls. Didn't try other food yet but everything looks fresh and delicious. I stayed away thinking only cannabis infused stuff was on the menu...totally separate space. Kid friendly!!!

Yelp
My husband and I went to West Town Bakery - Wheeling on a Sunday morning with a Meet-up group. When we arrived, there were many people coming in and out of the store. There were about 40 people there. We started in the bakery area where we ordered a hot chocolate, a drip coffee, chocolate chocolate chip muffin, dark matter donut, and chocolate raspberry croissant The hot chocolate was very rich and creamy. The croissant was rich in both chocolate and raspberry flavor. One taste did not take a backseat to the other. The donut was moist and had a coffee flavor to it. The muffin was moist, flavorful, and had a lot of chocolate chips in it. After we got our food, we were greeted by the owner, who explained a bit about the business. We learned about the dispensary, the rules that they have to follow, and what they offer. Then, the owner took us into the lounge. This is where you can enjoy their products on site. It is a very nice, bright area with many windows. There are comfortable seats and tables and games that you can play. Whether you are looking for food, drinks, or other indulgences, I highly recommend West Town Bakery - Wheeling!

Yelp
The food is expensive and the service is decent and the ambiance is pretty cool. I did enjoy the dessert

Yelp
YUCK! I don't recommend eating these baked goods sober. Avoid. Better off going to Jewel. Your welcome.

Yelp
The whole experience was quite offputting. You walk into a building that houses a dispensary. Upon entering you turn right for the bakery or turn left for dispensary. The bakery had very few items and I'm a fan of West town bakery in the city so I was very disappointed. The whole atmosphere is odd. Maybe a bar too? I asked for a Cortado. the guy looked at me oddly so I figured he did not know how to make it. His coworker said he could. It was pretty decent drink because of the dark matters coffee, but getting a croissant and ringing up the order was a blunder. I finally said maybe this should be free which did not happen. The guy says it would be $21 for two items. I said no forget it. He realized he made a mistake and couldn't figure out the register. I think the employee might be going to the dispensary on break or not trained. Thankfully he had a competent coworker who figured the drink out and the register. Overall thumbs down would not return.

Yelp
I do NOT recommend West Town Bakery. The food was horrible, and the service (if you can call it that) was sub-standard at best. I received a gift card for my birthday and was super excited to try the food here as I heard good things about it. We we got there we were seated right away as we were part of the 6 customers there. My wife ordered a croissant and a bagel sandwich with dill cream cheese and lox (not worth the $16) you can get better at Original Bagel up the road for way less. The croissant was at least a day or two old. Not flaky, the inside was deflated and stuck to itself. The bagel had processed cheap dill cream cheese and the lox was frozen. I ordered an egg and sausage on a biscuit; which they totally FORGOT to make! I went to the bar to ask about Bingo Night and the bartender asks, "Didn't you have a sandwich?" DUH!!! Oh and let's not forget the fact that the bartender gave our coffee to another table and brought us the wrong coffee order. So she brings us our cold coffee (ran out of oat milk) and GAVE the free coffee to the other table!! No, "Oops, let me pay for your coffee." NOTHING!!! The service SUCKED! The food SUCKED! And I reached out to them via their website, do you think they git back to me? HELL NO!! Also, they are total IDIOTS in the dispensary. No clue on what to use for headaches. They just want to sell their pre-rolls to send you into the smoking lounge, which was a boring atmosphere at best. DO NOT GO HERE!!

Yelp
This place ROCKS! It has it all: Food, Drinks, Cannibas and a LOUNGE! Not only do you experience fabulous food and baked goods but the atmosphere is fun and inviting. Everyone is extremely friendly and warm and the entire experience was great. The bakery offers a large selection of AWESOME gluten free goodies. For an added bonus the OKAY dispensary and lounge is just cool. Also, have to mention that the GLUTEN FREE CANNIBAS infused Devil's Food Cake mix is absolutely FABULOUS! I highly recommend. I understand they are expanding soon to Evanston, cannot wait to visit the new location, heard it is going to be just as spectacular. Nice job West Town, keep it up!

Yelp
Told me Monday and Tuesday that they can make me a sugar free dessert I needed for Thursday then told me after 5:00 on Wednesday they couldn't do it. Left me in a situation of trying to find something else or having to bake something myself! Would never go here again or recommend to anyone!
