I really enjoy this place for u-pick veggies and berries. It's especially fun when the sunflowers, zinnias, and cosmos are in bloom to walk through the fields. There are picnic tables under big trees if you want a nice shady area. This farm is also open later than others and allows professional photography shoots for a small fee.

Google
One of our new favorite berry picking spots! The variety was incredible from raspberries, golden raspberries, tay berries, Logan berries, and the Columbia giants (pictured). Their blueberries looked like they were gonna be amazing once ready and the folks running the stand were extremely friendly! My kids didn’t pick many raspberries but the ladies up front encouraged them to try all the other berries. They were way more successful the second time around. We went on the 4th of July and it was quite busy and open until 5pm.

Google
Cool U-pick farm, very scenic, with beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables, as well as a beautiful field of sunflowers. Worth seeing even if you don't go to pick berries.

We had such a memorable experience at West Union Gardens 💟🌻🌺🌼🌷🌿🌱💐. It 🌧poured🌧 on us but it was so absolutely wonderful we didn't stop picking!!! Just enjoyed all of Oregon's finest, gorgeous landscape, many different varieties of berries and flowers and veggies and plants, and a nice refreshing rain. The blackberries are the largest I have seen and so delicious. The blueberries were almost done but still very very tasty. And the flowers were unreal. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. It is a bit spendy but worth every single penny. You are not just buying berries, you are having a wonderful farm experience. My kiddos loved it so much they did not want to leave even after an hour of walking around and picking. 10/10 will recommend and we are already looking forward to next season! 💝🌞🥰 Pro tip: bring your own clean buckets to pick in and boxes or containers to take your produce home. They supply them but trust me it is better this way 👍

Google
This place never disappoints. Super friendly and helpful staff. One big sunflower field for photos and another for u-pick. There are also delicious blackberries, raspberries, veggies, and other flowers for picking as well. Large but not overwhelming. I love bringing the kids here. Just a wonderful overall experience on a gorgeous farm!

Yelp
There really isn't anything bad to say. Staff were sooo friendly to us and the kids, made them feel so welcome. Directions were clear and the whole family had fun with our first berry season picking experience. We will absolutely go back for the different produce in upcoming seasons to come.

Yelp
Western Union Garden is an adorable spot, perfect for taking pictures or enjoying a relaxed picnic on their charming picnic tables. The ambiance is cozy, and it's a fantastic place to unwind with friends. The prices are affordable, making it accessible for everyone, and there's a wide variety of things to choose from. Whether you're picking flowers, fruits, or vegetables, you'll find something to suit your mood. It's an ideal location to connect with nature and enjoy a peaceful day outdoors. Highly recommended for a laid-back, picturesque experience! This place is cute to come with the girls for pictures or even for your little one to come pick things

Yelp
What a great place to go berry picking, as well as flower and vegetable picking! The garden is huge and you can take your pick on what you would like to take home. They provide you with scissors and pails if you'd like to cut flowers and vegetables and buckets for berries. We easily spent over an hour here just picking the blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries and it was the perfect way to spend our afternoon. Will be going back (this weekend, actually)!

Yelp
It is early July, berries are available for picking. Some of the berries were abundant, some were not. Best to call before going. We did call but should have asked what fruits were in abundance to pick. They have a list of their berries. Berries are charged by the pound. They do allow you to sample the berries off the vine. It is a pretty big farm. They have a map at entrance of where the berries are. This way you can go to pick the berries you want first. They have buckets or tray boxes to pick and put your berries in. Bring your own container to take the berries with you. They charge for their box trays. The weather is very hot and sunny. Bring a hat, water bottles, and comfortable shoes. Their walk path is rocky and dusty. Parking is abundant.

Yelp
Great berries, great service and a great staff made the drive from SE Portland well worth it -- and the prices (compared to the local farmers market) were great too!

Yelp
Visited over the weekend to pick berries. The young lady upfront had a smile on her face, and explained where the various berries ready to be picked were located. I have read the review of another yelper re: diversity and inclusion. When I was there one of the young ladies working as a cashier was of Asian origin. This is definitely a step in the right direction. Otherwise such a wonderful place. The blueberries and blackberries were so good! You can also bring your own bucket, basket or container. They will weigh it prior to you heading out to the field,

Yelp
A fabulous farm! Very friendly owners, beautiful produce. They are open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday 9/26-28, 9/30 all day. Then weekends in October. Lots of flowers, pumpkins, tomatoes!!

Yelp
The coolest experience!! At the beginning of the farm, there is a beautiful sunflower patch with perfect pockets for you to walk thru and get your photos taken. You can pay online or add cash to their donation box on site. Further down, we get to the produce section of the farm. The folks working there are very friendly and explain everything you need to know about picking your own produce, what areas to avoid, and how they calculate prices. My mom and I picked about two handfuls full of blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries, a couple tomatoes, and a sweet pepper -- all for under $4! There are also a few items pre-picked that you can purchase at the shop. The driveway to the farm is off a long road with a fairly high speed limit so be cautious when turning in and make sure to look for the signs (I accidentally turned in too early and into a residential property).

Yelp
I came here several weeks ago on a Saturday with two of my friends and we enjoyed every moment of it. It was a beautiful sunflower field that were in full bloom. I would recommend going here close to sunset, especially take in the sunset and also to capture some beautiful moments! The sunflower field is located right at the entrance of the farm with parking right across the field. The actual farm is a brief walk in and there's plenty to see there as well. There was a variety of fruits, flowers, and vegetables to pick! Also, note that there's lot bees flying around and hanging out on the sunflowers!

Yelp
This place was lots of fun! Being from Hawaii we never get to experience berry picking or any farm picking, so it was nice to do this while visiting Oregon. The farm also had veggies growing and you could pick certain ones that we ready. Along with fruits and veggies, the farm grew a wide range of flowers. You can borrow snippers to get flowers for purchase. Prices were so cheap! We went home with a box of fresh picked blueberries, a bag full of picked eggplants, a bag of beans, 2 elephant garlics, and onions all for $16! In the beginning of the farm they have a beautiful sunflower patch. There's a donation box if you're wanting to take photos.

michelle m.

Yelp
Perfect way to spend an hour or two. At the entrance, the sunflower field is beautiful with about 2/3 of the flowers open. You are in a wide open area with hills in the distance. It is idyllic. Continue down the road to the farm stand, flower garden, and u-pick area. There is plenty of parking. Check their website to see what is available for picking. In the farm stand , they have jams, fresh vegetables ( my favorites were green beans and elephant garlic), honey, and frozen berries (boysenberries for me). They even had directions for roasting the garlic! Much appreciated. You can cut flowers (many beautiful choices for your bouquet) for a fee. The 3 staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful (7-29 around noon). Don't forget to bring a picnic to enjoy when you're done. They have 6 CLEAN ( yes clean) picnic tables in a shaded tree-lined area with the flower gardens to right- pretty.

Yelp
My wife and daughter went to West Union Garden with another family and said it was a nice looking place. The review is about the people who work there, not the place. Google shows that they are open from 8 AM- 8 PM on Saturday. My wife and daughter went to get a bucket to pick some grapes (around 7:30 PM) and the young female employee had said to them that they are closing soon so won't allow any berry/grape picking now. So my family just walked around the place for like 20 min about to head home, and were shocked to find out that the same female employee was handing buckets to many people who had just arrived for berry/grape picking. My daughter had asked my wife "why she said "No" to us but handed the buckets to all the others?". My wife mentioned that the employee looked away when she saw my daughter was looking. After my family returned home I had to console my daughter that it's not her fault that she was treated differently. I had to convince her that her skin color had nothing to do with what happened. I hoped and wished that was the case. I believe people are inherently good. So why the young female employee chose to treat my family differently is beyond me. We try to shop locally as much as we can to help the local community, especially in these difficult times and incidents like these will not prevent me from shopping locally. But I will think twice before going to West Union Garden if their employees are treating customers based on their skin color. I hope no one goes through a similar situation at West Union Gardens or anywhere else just because their skin color is less fair. They should train their employees on diversity and inclusion.

Yelp
Was there picking pumpkins last year, got separated from my husband for one minute. The lady near the checkout asks me "Do you decorate?" WHO DOESN'T DECORATE?? -I'm all about asking question's, but doing so MINDFULLY. These words can easily be misconstrued.-

Yelp
Just checking this out in anticipation of Sacred Organics appearance next week. Had the most beautiful green beans and yellow squash. Had I wanted to go out in 90° heat I could have picked Anaheim chilies. The best were the triple crown blackberries. The juiciest perfectly ripe berries ever. Couldn't sample before buying cause of COVID. Oh well...they were awesome.

Yelp
Berries galore. This farm made for a delightful family evening. The children enjoyed running in the fields and we each picked our favorite berries. My wife also picked fresh flowers for our home. Before heading out we gathered our buckets and checked their website to see what fruits were available and the hours of operation for that day. We will return for more.

Yelp
This is our 3rd summer coming out to West Union Gardens and we love it! Not only is everyone there super friendly but the variety is terrific and the farm is beautiful. We always end up with plenty of berries, and the kids come home dirty and tired. I love that they're open till 8 because it's hard to get out there in the mornings, unless we have the day off. My kids are learning about eating seasonally and this is their favorite time of the year! Can't wait to make many more memories in the years to come!

Yelp
Mail ordered four haskap plants. At first, hesitated since the shipping cost as much as the plants. Upon arrival, received four very large haskap a that have come out of dormancy very nicely. Usually, online plants arrive and inevitably disappoint due to much smaller than anticipated size. This experience was the opposite- wonderfully sized, healthy haskaps well worth the all in price.

Yelp
Great place for fruit picking. I've come here several times already for berry picking with different people and everyone always enjoys themselves. Time passes surprisingly fast when I'm out berry picking but all that hard work isn't for nothing because I get deliciously fresh fruits to eat at the end. Only $1.25/lb too which is crazily cheap compared to what you get in the super markets. They have really good yellow watermelon for sale too. It was so ripe that the entire watermelon just cracked in half after I poked it with my knife. If you've never had yellow watermelon, you must try it! It's a different type of sweetness than the red watermelons, with a slight honey taste.

Yelp
We had the best time picking blackberries, raspberries and blueberries at West union today. The employees were so helpful and kind. The berries were well marked and easy to find. We clipped a variety of zinnias that were gorgeous! We loved spending the morning at such a picturesque farm. The prices were fantastic. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to pick berries!

Yelp
shhh dont tell anyone... we go here every year and load up our freezer with raspberries, tayberries and what ever else we can get in our buckets... Tayberries are a cross between a blackberry and a raspberrie and you must try it out to really appreciate it. They are the color of a deep red wine and have a wonderful fruity taste to them... Just brought home a bucket of golden raspberries this weekend:) They are so friendly and helpful there as well.

Larry B.

Yelp
Picked some beautiful Raspberries here the past two years. My new place to pick fruit for canning. Well maintained with other fruits and berries to choose from. Friendly and helpful staff I was unable to walk the distance where the fruit I wanted was the little staff gal allowed me to drive down to where they were. So grateful for that. Love this farm the view is beautiful and so peaceful. Very respectful and reminding us of the mask wearing guidelines during this pandemic. Thanks so much God Bless ysee you next year! Christine Bird

Yelp
Probably by the time we went the sunflowers seemed to be dying. Their store doesn't have anything to really look at or have stuff to buy that was already pre-picked. It was cute and I would go back probably earlier in the sunflower season.

Yelp
This place is great for u-pick fruit! I came here for the thorn-less blackberries. They recommend that you bring your own container to pick into, and you can have them weigh it before you start so that you can subtract the original container weight from your berry weight. Credit cards were accepted for payment. The different varietals were all well-labeled in the fields. There is a small farm store where you weigh your berries after picking, and there is other seasonal produce available for purchase. Outside of the farm store there are some picnic tables under some trees, so you can easily have a picnic before or after your berry-picking adventure. Restrooms are port-a-potties. This farm is right off Cornelius Pass, and it was very easy to find and access.

Yelp
Love this place! Friendly, helpful staff and great produce. Will be returning over and over again.

Yelp
Great for picking! A bit pricey on just buying already picked but the berries are super good! I go there every year with my family.

Yelp
I have thought about writing a review about West Union Gardens for a long time, but I really wanted to keep this place a secret. For 2 years now my kids and I pile in the car every week during the summer and come here to pick a big bowl of raspberries. I have always been worried that if my secret got out, there would be no more raspberries for us. I realized today that it is just not possible. I can share our secret. The berries go on forever and this place is heaven. At $1.25 a lb, you just can beat it. They have a huge selection of berries too. Marionberries, blackberries, blacktops, etc. They are kind enough not to weigh my children before we go in too.

Yelp
This is my first fruit-picking experience ever, and it was a great one. I'm a suburb/city girl, so going out to farms is not the first thing that comes to mind when planning my weekends. But since I'm here in Oregon from California for the summer, I thought picking berries would be a great way to experience a taste of country life. I randomly found West Union Gardens on some U-Pick Google Maps mashup online, and it seemed to have a wide variety of berries that my friends and I could choose from. I have a friend who hates blueberries, so many of the other U-Pick farms were out of question. When we got here (warning: small entrance, narrow dirt/gravel road), we got our buckets ($1 from the Dollar Tree down the street, but they also sell flats and buckets here) weighed and were shown a map of where to find specific berries we were interested in. The lady was super friendly and helpful to us first-timers! I hurt myself on quite a few thorns and probably ate more than I picked...it's really hard to put a berry in your bucket when you feel like you just picked a REALLY good one...I think I was starting to get the hang of it after a while, but it took at least 15 minutes I was able to gain some self-control to allow the first berry into my bucket. It was definitely a fun first-time berry-picking experience and I'd highly recommend it to anyone wishing to have a true Portland experience. Prices seem to be pretty reasonable (starting at $1.45/lb), but since I've never been to any other farms, you'll have to compare for yourself. They do take credit card, which is nice. Don't forget the hat, sunscreen, and containers! Check out their website and call in advance to listen to a pre-recorded message of what berries you can pick that day! http://www.westuniongardens.com/

Yelp
This is easily the best raspberry farm I have been to in Oregon. Probably even in the world, considering Oregon's berries are world famous. The raspberries are huge, extremely juicy, and so, so soft. The sheer number and brilliant red color of the berries makes the raspberry bunches ever so appealing- you literally feel like plucking away as fast as you can. Other berries are a bit lacking. They have this golden variety which I haven't seen in other places but the thing is, the season for the golden berries is waaaay too short. They're always gone whenever I seem to get there. It's too bad, since the golden ones are even sweeter than the red ones. The Waldo, thornless blackberries, are awesome. Juicy, large, and without the pain associated with plucking blackberries due to the menacing thorns. If you're trying to pick blueberries however, don't bother. Apparently the soil on this farm is not optimal for blueberries and therefore, the taste nor the amount of the berries is good. Prices are pretty good too- it was around $1.50 a pound of any berries (U-Pick) when I went today.
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
First timer here. Awesome place to pick fresh produce and look at sunflowers! We ate as many triple crown blackberries as we ended up with. We also got some jalapeños and Anaheim peppers! They also had beautiful tomatoes, string beans, and elephant garlic! Very well priced if not cheap! Would come again!!
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
PROS- Before I went, the website was updated daily which is rare with berry farms & if you call and get voicemail, there is a berry update from that morning which is awesome! When I arrived, parking was easy and the women at the stand were friendly and helpful. They have a large variety of berries to pick from, blueberry, blackberry, marion, etc and also some vegetables you can buy in their farm store, garlic, onions, etc. Easy parking and short drive from Portland. There are picnic tables to sit under some large trees for shade, rest and to eat a nice picnic lunch,. There are many porta potties with hand washing stations with soap which is great. CONS - what bothered me about this farm is that it doesn't seem to be well kempt, there were plastic bottles and garbage on the grounds, my son found a golf ball in one of the tomato fields and while I was picking marion berries, there was an old shoe half buried in the dirt by the base of the vine.

Becky J.

Yelp
I had no idea this place existed. I've always driven to Sauvie's Island to pick berries. It was so nice to know such a great berry farm was in NW Portland. I had a great summer outing with my girls. We picked berries and made jam. It was yummy!
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
Great selection of berries, friendly staff and good location! They even had pickling cucumbers for sale (which we bought some of) and lots of other crops growing. They have this one variety of blackberry I haven't seen anywhere else called the Waldo blackberry. Big, sweet and no thornes on the plant...best part!

Clare J.

Yelp
Love this place! Great prices, decent availability, and their golden raspberries made a GLORIOUS jam!! FYI: As of July 2015, most of their berries (including raspberries) are $1.80 a pound. Still much better than the farmers market!

Cindy Y.

Yelp
Always wonderful when I find a chance to go. Definitely one of the most pleasant u pick places with the best hours. Since they are open until 8:00 PM Mon-Fri June-Aug. I've watched the sun set while picking berries. Also this is one of the few places I've found golden raspberries.

Dan L.

Yelp
We went on one of the hottest evenings of the summer so far, and had the place almost to ourselves. It's a surprisingly short distance up from the Cornelius Pass Road exit off of Route 26. The woman at the counter was very helpful and friendly, and pointed out the best stuff to pick (marionberries in the far back, raspberries, and blueberries at this time of the season). The fields were well laid-out and well-marked, and the setting was beautifu land tranquil with birds and sun and some welcome shade from the tall trees in the back near the marionberries, as well as in the shaded aisles between the tall raspberry plants. We spent an hour picking and got about 6 pounds of delicious raspberries, marionberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants, all for only about $11. A great way to spend a lovely summer evening, and have something delicious to show for it!

Heidi A.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for U-pick Raspberries. I have been going to West Union Gardens for about 5 summers now to load up primarily on raspberries. They logan berries, marion berries, goose berries, currents, tayberries, and I am probably leaving out a bunch. The employees are always super helpful and friendly. If you forget your containers they sell perfect berry picking buckets for $1.50 each. They do a great job at rotating sections so there is usually pretty easy picking. This is by far my favorite place to u-pick raspberries every summer.
