The Boston Area’s Best Bars For Memorial Day Chardonnay | Eater

"One of Concord’s newest additions, The West Village Tavern offers an upscale bar experience along with quality snacks boasting international flavors: think Korean beef, tuna poke, fresh burrata, or kitchen sink nachos. No matter what you’re in the mood for, you’ll find something you like here, with a refreshing glass of chardonnay to wash it all down." - Molly McDonough

We visited the Tavern for the 250th Anniversary of America's Revolution and had a wonderfully casual dinner - just what we were looking for! Our server was excellent and unintentionally funny. When we asked about the festivities going on all weekend in Lexington & Concord, she answered, "Not sure, I'm going away Saturday." That's ok, to each his own. The pork dumplings, which arrived in a ceramic white "to go" box, were a great way to start, and the Thai chili sauce was the highlight! We.followed with clam chowder [very good; bacon prominent], chicken skewers [perfectly cooked and large order], the Asian bowl [delicious, only some lightly fried ginger strips could have helped], and a classic cheeseburger [Yum! and it was gone!] - great meal! Thanks.

Absolutely amazing experience! The waitstaff was so friendly as we entered and then the drinks, appetizers and the entrees were to die for! My new favorite place!

Google
Excellent food and great service! Been here twice in the past month and have really enjoyed the experience. The goldfever wings are on another level, and the Kitchen Sink nachos are sublime. Beer menu is also great, had the "Little Sip IPA" and it was perfect! Have had kind servers, and they have all been nothing but nice and generous to our little 1 year old daughter as well (thanks for the animal cups, she loves them). I look forward to trying the rest of the menu as time passes! Cheers to a great little spot!

Google
Decent food but a bit pricey. Service was great. Had their vegetable pizza and clam chowder. Chowder had more bacon topping than clam.

Time wait for food was one hour. My fish and chips were soggy and luke warm by the time food came out. This was the worst fish and chips I have ordered anywhere. My coworkers’ burgers had dry buns and they had to ask for BBQ sauce to help it be less dry. Couldn’t they have buttered the buns a little bit? Foods were of decent portions though. The quality of the foods was not what I expected from this popular and very highly rated establishment. My individual bill for fish and chips dinner and a beer and tip was over $41.

This is a cool, cozy place, truly tavern feeling but bigger. Service from our waiter was pleasant and fun, and attentive even though he was clearly busy! Food was overall quite good. Would def consider this place again for a good family or friends meal out!

Google
Came for lunch for 3. Food was great and creative. We had a very bubbly server Amber but I think she was the only one working the tables, it was busy so she had a lot going on, I felt bad for her! Nicely redone ex-99 restaurant but kind of loud (music and just level of noise bouncing off of the hard walls). Good addition to the area.

Delicious food with great friendly service! We will return next time we are in the area!

Yelp
We started off our evening with a drink at the bar. Service was amazing considering the restaurant and bar were both packed. We had 7:00 reservations and were seated exactly at 7. The Smash Burger was fantastic and plentiful. I took half mine home, so much food. Parking was a bit hard to find, but definitely worth it.

Yelp
Came here after a day exploring Concord and surrounding areas. The restaurant is fairly cute and cozy. You will likely wait for a table as it was fairly busy on a Friday evening, though it seemed like much less of a wait than other nearby restaurants. The food was very tasty and fresh. A give it only three stars based on a few factors. The food was good, but certainly overpriced. You can tell they are attempting to go for an upscale feel, but I think they'd do better if they were just more down to earth. Second, the service was incredibly slow. Our server was very nice, but it took honestly a ridiculous amount of time between each step of the process. From getting drinks to ordering food and getting the food and then, worst of all, paying for the meal. We eventually had to go find someone at the front to tell them we were waiting to pay so we could leave. Especially if you're going for upscale vibes, service needs to improve dramatically. For the food itself, would consider visiting again if in the area, but improvements in the other areas would help them greatly.

Yelp
Laid back, casual dining spot in west concord. We always see people coming out with pizzas to-go but hesitant to order since we haven't seen pictures/reviews on the pizza but it ended up being pretty good! We preferred the fig and prosciutto over the ricotta and meatball. Good flavor on the boneless buffalo wings. Good crunch and seasoning on the fried pickles. Friendly waiter named Thiago. Will come back again !

Yelp
Had a nice lunch here with some friends today after playing a gig nearby. Service was friendly and fast, food was better than expected honestly. Definitely a solid spot for an easy bite

Yelp
We had takeout pizza. The sausage, red peppers and ricotta and mozrella . AMAZIng . Very generous portion also. We be would get this again any day!

Dick N.

Yelp
Dick N is really rooting for this place to survive, but they have a lot of work to do. They're at a goldmine location. People are starving for a place to grab a burger, steak, fancy salad, etc and some drinks at a reasonable cost (reasonable cost is certainly relative these days at all restaurants). Somehow I think that West Village is trying to be too much. The walk the line of filling the gap left by the 99 as the local bar to grab apps and beers, but at the same time trying to compete with 80 Thoreau, Woods Hill, and Nosh. They've got $95 glasses of whiskey while maintaining the same cheesy 99 decor. So are you fancy and pretentious or are you cookie cutter and down to earth? They need to find that middle ground. We've had some good meals there. Others so-so at best. I wouldn't want to be in the restaurant biz right now with inflation and labor issues, but that does not excuse West End from providing good service. Servers are friendly, but not trained to take feedback. Our last meal came with a kids burger ($15 w/choc milk) charred to hockey=puck-like texture, and baked haddock that got a overdose of salt Mrs Dick Nipples favorite dish and she was unable to eat it). Hey, it happens. But when you bring it to the servers attention and they can only offer an, "Ok, I'll let 'them' know'", something is not right. For the prices being charged, I'd expect that a manager would be ensuring all guests are relatively happy. I've never seen a manager on the floor here. The bar is not a bad place to hang out. But they missed out when the closed off the lounge area which now feels boxed in. Generally, people sitting in the lounge are ok being near the bar area, and appreciate having tv's with the game (like the 99). You can't get into Karma or Nosh (Nosh sets a low bar) on a Saturday at 6:30 pm. But we walked right into West Village and were sat immediately. There should be people lined up to eat here (especially with Chang An closing down). 2.5 stars but I rounded it up to a 3 as I'm hopeful West End can figure it out for their own good, the good of the people, the town of Concord, and for people everywhere who like to eat and drink.

Yelp
My friend and I headed to West Village Tavern for lunch after checking out the Concord Museum. I ordered the following for apps: nachos - they gave a generous portion with tons of chips and toppings. Had to take some back home as it was too good to throw out. Chips were fresh and crispy, and would rate this as 8.5/10. for entree: steak tips - the marinade was on point. I had left overs to bring back and my mom took a couple of bites and loved it. Mashed potatoes was decent, just needed a bit more seasoning. The asparagus was just a bit sad looking like it was overcooked but overall taste was there. Will rate this meal as 8/10. for dessert: churro donuts - it wasn't what I expected in terms of taste. There was a kick to the bite and I can't decide if I like it or not. Rating is 6/10. Service was great. There's only street parking but we lucked out. Overall will recommend :)

Yelp
First time here, got a To-Go order on a beautiful sunny Fall Sunday. Mentioning the weather because I've seen reviews complaining about the wait, and husband told me it was pretty empty @ 2.15+-p.m. Glad to read they are often packed, they've earned it if all the food is as good as we ordered. Yum! So, the order: Caesar Salad, Power Lunch, Pan Blackened Salmon. All delicious! In addition to the salad, my husband had the Salmon and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He wasn't quite sure what the sides were comprised of, all he knew was it was delicious (and for the record, it was a blend of arugula, tomato, avocado, and citrus vinaigrette. The other side was pineapple salsa). I had the power lunch and do I feel healthy! It was very good, I chose the vinaigrette they mentioned in the description out of the list of dressings available. So glad I did, very refreshing! The healthy blend of spinach, baby kale, shaved Brussels, pistachios, chopped tomatoes (ok, mine were halved cherry/grape tomatoes - still good!) quinoa, feta cheese (and just the right amount). Perfect, especially if you're trying to be "good" ;-) The only staff my husband had any contact with was at the front, he didn't catch her name but he said she was very nice, very friendly. We are both glad we chose West Village Tavern today and will definitely be returning! Thank you WVT for ending our day on a high note, appreciate it!

Yelp
The food is excellent. The service is also reliable and excellent. I am impressed with this place and have become a regular. As a vegan, there is lots I can order including perfectly cooked tofu. Thanks!

Brant B.

Yelp
Picked up a couple of salads to go for the spouse and I. So disappointed they were absolute garbage and costed $19 per salad. West village, please pick a lane. Offer cheap food for low prices or quality food for what you're charging. Honestly 0/10, recommend avoiding.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here with 4 total guests on a Thurs in December 2023. Hostess and staff were exceptionally friendly and great. Food was lovely ; not overworked, just great new-American cuisine. The big downside for our dinner, and this is something I think Management could easily correct, is that when we sat in a booth, the patrons behind us could not move a muscle without us feeling their every maneuver! A particle board in between the cubbies would probably suffice. Nitpicky, perhaps, but I was there eating a nice dinner and that was horribly annoying. Thank you for an overall nice experience.

Yelp
Street parking needs to be addressed, having someone who has difficulty walking and street parking is bad enough. The location is on a corner and the traffic light makes it hard to find the one and only parking spot. Entering is even more of a challenge, luckily the restaurant across the street had a handicap spot. Upon arriving, there is a handicap entrance, but wasn't really clear where it was located. But one step up to the entrance was easily accessible. Seated at the front of the restaurant, was nice but seeing all enter and hear the loudness of the bar was a bit much. But I digress, on to the restaurant review! Appetizers were searched out, three menus, one for food, one for cocktails the last for the specials. Order placed: clam chowder, golden chicken tenders. Main course of fish and chips and a chicken sandwich. Presentation was quite desirable. Wait staff had to be asked to refill the pepper mill. Busy night. Very accommodating. Heavy on the fries, (for both the sandwich and the fish and chips) fish was a tad watery, but still tasty. Chicken sandwich was enjoyed. Steak knife could have been used to cut it, minor detail. No dessert. Might go back, knowing what we know now.

Yelp
I've been here twice while traveling and the food is outstanding. I love French dip sandwiches and this on is to die for. The make it with braised short rib and carmelized onions and horseradish sauce. So delicious! Portions are huge. I couldn't finish it.

Chris L.

Yelp
Just left here, the place was incredibly clean everything looked brand new and you just felt like it was a great clean spot. Our sever was very nice and he was on top of everything. Clam chowder was great minus the bacon but still a really good chowder! cheese pizza also was good. Definitely worth the stop!

Yelp
"A pretentious, overpriced venue with delusions of being upscale." As stated before by two different people, I agree 100% that The West Village Tavern in West Concord is just that. This is a bad start. The prices are outrageous, greedy and quite frankly a robbery. You could get a burger for less at 80 Thoreau, the fine dining restaurant in the center of town. Even though they were already expensive, in the last month they've raised prices by $5.00. Drinks are a robbery, appetizers are a robbery, meals are a robbery. At least the 99 was economical and lasted over 20 years for a reason. If it weren't for covid, it would probably still be there. The quality of the food is sub par. They charge more than twice the amount they should. Instead of leaving satisfied, I just feel like my wallet took a major hit and honestly this place pisses me off. Their food tastes like p*ss. This is West Concord - not down town Boston in the Back Bay for Christ's sake. Their poor star average will only keep getting lower, and management needs to make some changes before they too go out of business. Greed is gross, and I hope a better place comes to take their place. We deserve better than this. The managers remarks to people who paid to eat here - are down right rude, aggressive and a prime example of how a manager should NOT speak to a paying customer. I'm not believing the inflation excuse, as there are plenty of restaurants that actually charge fair prices and are doing better than this place. A nasty manager is a sign of what's to come. I've worked in several restaurants for over 20 years, so I know what I'm talking about. I am not interested in what the manager/greedy owner has to say, and I hope they save their ego and decide not to respond to my review. It won't change my opinion. Get some humility.

Murray K.

Yelp
We previously had several good takeouts. We ordered fish & chips and salmon on Caesar salad. I arrived on time for my pickup to find the fish & chips cold and the Caesar simply lettuce and breadcrumbs. Amanda said she was sorry and agreed to have the manager call me. Spoiler alert: never happed

Yelp
This is the second time that we have ord from here in the past week. The food is excellent! The Pan-Seared Haddock was fresh, the sweet potatoes and spinach that came with it, were perfect! The only thing that we didn't get was the echo how do you spell beurre blanc sauce over the haddock, but it was great without it, so, we didn't mind. (The meal was not as hot or warm as I would have expected, but I believe that was the Dasher's fault, not the restaurant's, so I am still giving them a 5 star review)! The Honey Chicken Salad, reminds me of a similar salad that Joes American Bar and Grill used to serve, and is delicious! I am happy to have found it again, as it was my favorite! As I am ordering through DoorDash, I cannot speak to the ambiance, or the service, but I have heard great things!

David H.

Yelp
Bartender: Sucked. No hello, didn't listen to my drink order and apparently does not know how to change the channel on a TV. Didn't help that he mumbled that he was paid to make drinks, not work a television. News flash, you are paid to make me feel welcomed and appreciated. Say hello to me when I sit down (you don't have to serve me immediately, just acknowledge my presence), listen to my drink order (it was just a rum, campari and lime juice and he needed to ask for the ingredients twice), and figure out how to change the channel on the TV (thankfully the person next to me took the remote and changed the channel for him). A place like this should have a more professional bartender. Food: Completely over salted. Come on Chef, taste before you serve. Between the short ribs and the spinach I am pretty sure my blood pressure went up 20 points (although that could have been caused by the bartender). Service: Excellent. I felt bad that my waiter has to work with these people. Way too talented to have to listen to the complaints I am sure he gets about either the food or the bartenders lack of service.

Grace S.

Yelp
I hate to give this place away, but it's a hidden gem. Food is fantastic and they have a great bar menu as well as specialty drinks. Servers at the bar work hard but they are terrific. No matter how busy it gets they are on top of things and make it look easy.

Joe G.

Yelp
Great food and very great people! Really enjoyed my dinner here and vibed with the atmosphere. Very chill and a super convenient location. Definitely recommend!

Sheila L.

Yelp
The food is just ok, the pizza is very good, but be careful of the drinks. I ordered a mt gay rum and tonic and they charged me 22 dollars! At the Bancroft ( a better restaurant) the mt gay and tonic was 11. Why would you make my drink with XO? I didn't order XO. From reading the other reviews looks like there is a theme here. Overpriced drinks at a modest at best restaurant. If I ever go back I will order beer and ask what the price is before ordering just to make sure there's no funny business again. I think take out pizza is the only option at this place.
google avatar

Ray B.

Yelp
3rd visit and just not better. Server was great . Burger amazing but expensive and the Chicken salad. In the huge shell was way to salty. It didn't get eaten. Fried fish Sandwhich mediocre at best. Beer a couple bucks more than other local spots but ice cold and refreshing. The booths as mentioned in other reviews are not comfortable and the room next to the bar is definitely claustrophobic. I gave it three tries but it came up consistently mediocre and expensive.
google avatar

Benny G.

Yelp
This restaurant is absolutely stellar amazing service, amazing food, and very good mixed drinks. The weight staff are very courteous and attend to their guests as best as they can. Please don't come here or waste their time if you're a cheapskate, looking for a free meal to complain about. Don't come here, then go somewhere else and annoy them.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Server was nice but she came over every 20 minutes. I got a margarita with casamigos blanco and it was 21$ PER DRINK. INSANE. The ambiance was empty and quiet. It seems nice but they need to lower their prices if they are going to last in this area. I'm a bartender in Boston and we don't even charge 21$ for a marg with casa. Still tipped over 20% because our server doesn't deserve to suffer the consequences of the prices of the drinks. Food was delicious, but still can't get over the price of the drinks.

Yelp
West Concord needed a place that wasn't too fancy or complicated, where you could hang with friends and were not pressured to leave. The Tavern was it. We had a party of 4 Wednesday night. We reserved a table just in case. Parking was terrible and there were no handicapped spots except one that belonged to the other restaurant. Curb cuts were far away from the (unmarked) ramped entrance. There was plenty of room for us to sit at the table, the hostess was very hospitable and welcoming. This was our first time there. The prices were average and there was plenty of food for all. We started w/ pork ravioli and fried pickles. They were fantastic. I had the best ever pumpkin ravioli w/ w/ a light white sauce, onions, spinach and I think raisins. My husband had the burger which was huge and our friends had dinner salads. Our waitress didn't rush us and was very pleasant. We would definitely go back!

Anna B.

Yelp
A couple of girlfriends and I had lunch here the day after July 4, one of the few places to eat that was open in town. The staff were super friendly and provided prompt service. We all got salads -- mine was the one with kale, quinoa, feta, pistachios and I added chicken to it. Very tasty and good quality. We are planning to go back for lunch again in a couple of days with some more girlfriends.

Yelp
Went for lunch today. The place was not busy but food took over 30mins to come out. The chips and guacamole, fries, and blackened chicken sandwich were very good. The smash burgers were really not; unseasoned meat, borderline raw bacon, a dab of sauce, over-buttered tasteless white bread instead of a roll. It was incredibly disappointing. I'll probably give it another go but I'm in no rush.

Yelp
To provide context, this was my 2nd visit. I've only had breakfast at this restaurant. Our server Matt was excellent, which is why I bumped it to 4 stars. Their brunch service is fairly new and the breakfast items only account for a small portion of that menu. The complimentary corn bread was yummy. Their egg entree was a generous portion of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries & toast for only a $1 more (bargain) than the French Toast. The French Toast tasted fine, but the blueberries were just a garnish of 6, instead of what you would expect to be served with an entree that stated berries in the description. The size was also smaller than the toast that accompanied the egg dish. It was described as thick French Toast, but thin. I prefer mine thin, but it wasn't as advertised. Although the regular & decaf coffee was horrible, it was priced very reasonably @ $1.50 and came out piping hot. The toast w/the egg entree, home fries & coffee all had an after taste. They also didn't have any jam/jelly for the toast. I'll give them time to work out the breakfast kinks and will only return for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Came here on Friday June 22nd with a friend. Loved the decor, they did a nice job with renovations since the 99 Resturant. We arrived around noon, wasn't too busy and asked to sit in a corner, were there would be less activity. We had Matt as our server. He was friendly, and a great server. We ordered ice teas and a honey chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and a southwest chicken salad. Both were good, and satisfying. The sandwich I ordered was good, but I felt the white onion was a little over powering on the sandwich . But for two ppl with tip was about 55.00 bucks . The had great tunes playing, but was a tad loud. Would def come back for dinner.
google avatar

Elias J.

Yelp
Just had lunch here, they had a strawberry chocolate martini special for Valentine's day and it was incredible. I got the smash burger which was very messy (not a complaint, just a warning!) and delicious! The staff were exceedingly kind and attentive, and everything seemed very clean. Overall great experience! Would go again!

Yelp
We waited with bated breath for this eatery to open as an alternative to Woods Hill Table, Adelita, and Nashoba Brook Bakery. Wow, what a disappointment. Logistically, we couldn't figure out their hours initially, reservations are only for parties of 4 or more, and the three times we ventured there for dinner, we were told that the wait was 30-45 minutes despite all the empty tables. Do they have staffing issues? Prices are high for uninspired food. Ambiance still remains 99-ish with unsupervised children roaming around albeit a brighter and remodeled space. Epic fail on the vision "The idea behind West Village Tavern was to create a neighborhood spot where locals can enjoy scratch made food prepared daily paired with creative cocktails, generous wine pours..."

Yelp
In the words of the great Randy Jackson, this place was just alright for me dog'. Nothing special, not a place I would rush to come back to. This place is SO LOUD, to the point where you can't hear the person across the booth from you. And the booths...oof, claustrophobia city. They are so tight and we are 2 small people with toddlers. It doesn't help the the pitch on the back rest is 90 degrees and the person behind you is constantly adjusting to get comfortable. It's like the worst plane seat you've ever experienced. The food. Again, nothing to write home about or bring me back. It took well over an hour to get our food and most of it came out in metal baskets, not something I'm really into. They claim the fries are hand cut, I'm not sure if they actually are and if they are I think they're sort wasting their time on them as the were somehow chewy and blah. Again, I applaud the effort if they are hand cut but a thumbs down to the execution. The burger was good, but not great. The kids menu was extensive so that was nice to see. (Edit: after seeing their recent Instagram post I can confirm that they definitely subbed out frozen fries for their 'hand cut' version. I feel cheated and sad) Lastly, it's sad to see that they set their staff up for failure. Our server l admitted to us that she had never opened a bottle of wine in her life. Ah, we might want to teach this to our employees...? Overall, in a town with very few options I am sure that it will do fine. I just don't see myself going back anytime soon and that's a bummer since we go out to dinner every weekend as a family. I sort of miss the 99 even though we seldom went there.

Allie A.

Yelp
Overall disappointed in all of our meals (ex poke bowl, gyro sandwich). We had been waiting to try this place since it opened. We did though have a nice young server. He was quite apologetic as we had a booked a table for 10, months in advance for a special occasion and we arrived to find out we had been split up into two booths (behind one another) which we found odd as we couldn't converse with each other.

Yelp
The absolute worst $30 beef tips I've ever had in my life, complete waste of money and utterly disgusting. Meat was placed into a container with nasty coleslaw and it said nothing about coleslaw being with the meal. I ate at this place like 4 weeks ago, not from concord, just made a yelp account to leave a review for another place, and could not forget to warn people about this place. I don't know what was more gross, the food or the price of it. $30 beef tips, I was expecting them to make me feel great, instead I could barley stomach it and didn't even eat it all. Cold and disgusting and just the worst overpriced disgusting crap probably in the whole state of MA.

Yelp
We just had another great meal from West Village Tavern. Over multiple visits/orders we have had salads, the Guacamole burgers, pizza, and the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Everything has been completely delicious. Worth a visit to this great new restaurant in West Concord.

Pj M.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking for a new place to have an early dinner on a Saturday around 3:30pm. I googled restaurants in Concord and West Village Tavern was the first restaurant that came up and we're glad it did! We were greeted by a very friendly hostess named Kaitlyn and seated at a cozy table with two big comfy chairs. Our waitress, Heather, was also very friendly and attentive, we felt so at home there. We ordered the pork dumplings appetizer with Thai sauce. I ordered the steak tips which came with fries and steamed broccoli and my husband ordered the short rib with sauteed spinach and loaded baked potato. We had the skillet cookie for desert. Our meals were delicious and we were very happy with our experience dining at West Village Tavern from start to finish. I would recommend calling for a reservation. They were fairly busy when we arrived but by the time we left they were very busy. I love the location also, Concord is so peaceful and lovely. We will return in the near future!

Yelp
New restaurant in West Concord, replacing the 99 that was there for years. The food is great and there's a nice variety of dishes. Give it a try!
google avatar

Walter H.

Yelp
A worthy successor to the 99 that used to be located here. Nice menu, youthful energetic staff, Noise level reasonable allowing normal conversation, prices normal for West Concord.

Susan M.

Yelp
We went on a quiet Sunday for dinner. The ambiance is stylish rustic farmhouse with local influences. The young servers were very friendly and attentive. So, I really wanted to love it. But two of us ordered the rosemary garlic salmon, to be done medium (and the menu states it will be cooked medium). We both received very cooked-through fillets with lots of black char on the top. The asparagus was too salty for me to eat. The Tuna Poke bowl was over-sauced. Also, 3 out of the 4 of us felt the portions were small. Luckily the 4th had a big pile of fries that we all polished off. Maybe ordering one of their sandwiches would have been a safer bet. The mixed drinks were heavy on the mixers. And the server never brought me my soda. Lastly and rather picky, I admit, is that the booths are bolt upright with narrow space b/t the booth and table.

Michael N.

Yelp
We visited West Village Tavern on Memorial Day We had delicious Chips and Salsa for $12.00 We ordered two Cadillac Margaritas and they came back weak. So I asked the bartender to pour us two shots of a Casa Migos tequila. We poured the shots in our drink. We received the a bill for $104. 86 Tip -20% Tax 6% Chips and Salsa 12.00 (2) Cadillac Margaritas $30.00 (2) Casa Migo Shots $40.00 ? The food is respectable. The drinks are made behind a partition. If you enjoy cocktails, I don't recommend West Village Tavern. At the very least ask for the drink cost before you order!!

Vincent E.

Yelp
West Village Tavern in Concord does an excellent job with a clean updated comfortable Tavern feel, sleek enough for a great date night. You can't go wrong starting off with warm rolls and quality olive oil with Parmesan cheese. Comfort food favorite apps like giant scallops wrapped in bacon and pork dumplings. The grilled salmon and sweet potato are favorites of mine, as well as pasta like the sausage and fafale in a tomato cream sauce. The whole roasted acorn squash stuffed with quinoa is a healthy option that's also pretty impressive to see. And desserts like tiramisu will please even the pickiest eaters.

Yelp
West Village Tavern is mediocre, not worth the price. I got the Korean Beef Bowl. The meat was dry and not very flavorful. We ordered an appetizer, and it it was not served before the main courses, so we just cancelled it.

Yelp
I really want to live this place! The ambiance is great! Our server last night was awesome (Matthew) but... they are no longer offering bread which I do understand but cone on... you could at least offer it for as an option for to precede larger meals at a discounted price. But the thing that really pissed me off was when we ordered the queso dip that came with tortilla chips. The chips disappeared quickly & we still had some queso left so we asked for a few more chips. We were told we would have to pay $4!!! Are you kidding me?!? I ran restaurants for 15 years and I know what the cost is on tortilla chips! I would've happily paid $2 & considering the total bill was $200+, I may sound like I'm being petty but that left a bad taste in my mouth! We are local but not sure we'll be going back!

Yelp
Very Good! Stopped in on a weeknight. Place had a good vibe. Sat at the bar & we ordered the burgers. Best burger I can recall having out. Cooked to order, tasty with solid toppings. Bun was fresh. Excellent. Wine list by glass is ok. Special WBG list was very interesting but significantly more costly than standard list. Service was good & friendly. Only negative is there's no dedicated parking.

Yelp
Had two good pizzas from Concord Pie Company - pepperoni and fig and prosciutto. The only problem was that they were not cooked long enough. Will be ordering again and hopefully they will be cooked a little longer.

Yelp
I've ordered takeout from West Village Tavern a number of times now, and 3 out of the last 4 orders, I've had to wait over 30 minutes at the restaurant after arriving at the confirmed pick up time for my order, including watching multiple DoorDash orders and phone pickup orders walk in and walk out very quickly. As someone who lives 1/4 mile away, I'm not interested in giving DoorDash my money. Once I get the food it is delicious, but at this point it's not worth the hassle.

Yelp
A bit scared of a "Tavern" that has a cheeseburger on the menu for $19... may venture in for some beers but I'm afraid of the prices...plus cocktails not priced on the menu. Please convince me to go

Yelp
We have been in a couple of times and sat at the bar both times. The service is great and the bartenders are very attentive to your needs. We had appetizers and the scallops wrapped in bacon is highly recommended. We also had the stuffed clams and the pork dumplings and we would order them both again. Great place and will definitely will go back!!!
