Google
Dropped by earlier today and was so impressed. Melissa's warm welcome totally made my day. I can't emphasize enough how much that kind of service adds to the experience. Grabbed the sourdough loaf (which made an amazing avocado toast this morning, btw!) and a chocolate croissant. Seriously, I give it a 10/10. Pretty nice first visit, I'm already looking forward to go back and try more!

Google
If you’re a sourdough lover this bakery will not disappoint you. The best sourdough I’ve had in a long time! They were out of the batards when we went (so go early if you want more options) but got the sandwich bread version instead which is made from the same dough and it was superb! The chocolate croissant was so good too!! Super flaky and fluffy. Absolutely delicious!

Google
Great place, good food, kind service. They were even willing to heat up my baked goods. A small amount of choices, like no hit chocolate, but otherwise everything I got here was great!

Google
Ok, here is my edited review now that I have actually tired the bread. If you’re a fan of quality sourdough and fantastic coffee, West Won Bread is a must-visit. Their sourdough is absolutely phenomenal—crusty on the outside with that perfect chewy, tangy interior that keeps you coming back for more. Each loaf feels like it’s made with care, and you can taste the depth of flavor in every bite. Pair it with a cup of their coffee, and you’ve got a match made in heaven. The coffee is rich, smooth, and full-bodied, exactly what you need to complement that incredible bread. The only downside? They’re only open Wednesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., so if you’re craving that sourdough on a Monday or Tuesday, you’re out of luck. But honestly, the limited hours are a small price to pay for such consistently high-quality offerings. Trust me, it’s worth planning your week around a visit to West Won Bread. You won’t be disappointed!

Google
I went in today to get avocado toast. The girl who took my order had gloves on as she rang me up, touched my cash/coins, and then proceeded to start making my food with the same gloves on. I immediately told the other girl to please cancel my order. I am so disappointed because this is one of my go to spots right by my work and that I send my guests to! I worked in food industry for 10 plus years and I know this is a BIG no no!

Google
Loved their almost wheat free bread! And my husband loves their conchas.

Yelp
Visited Napa this weekend and stopped by West Won Bread. Best bread I have ever had! The pastries and breakfast sandwich were awesome! They make a mean cappuccino as well! love this place! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The owner was there making bread and he came out to greet us and tell us about his products and his journey that lead him to opening his own shop. It was a great experience.

Yelp
Still the most legitimate ancient grain bakery in Napa. And it isn't a Instagram spot just a great and breaducation foodie spot Coming here is like connecting to the history of food... namely breads... a staple of every culture but in different forms... on our planet as survival.. Owner is a former EL school teacher turned dedicated skilled baker. Trained by the best in nearby famed Firebrand Berkeley bakery then at Model Bakery. Khorasan grain is the choice grain at West Won. And most always sourdough in each bread baked in their ovens The crunch to their chocolate croissants beat most and there is a slightly nuttier taste to it. Fan of the sourdough loaf with sesame crust And the very dense healthier Khorasan loaf only available Saturdays which is lovely toasted and used in a sandwich or plain with butter. This art of baking costs the consumer more because of the work involved Like other ancient grains it takes up to 18 hrs to prepare and bake this type of bread. It is a more complex bread and not your typical "white fluffy bread" or "Parisian style" bread touting soft white bouncy interiors. This bread is sometimes crusty and dense and at times more substantial and fibrous. It is known for its large kernels, rich nutty flavor, and higher nutritional content compared to modern wheat, offering more protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals. Its sweet, nutty, buttery flavor was attracting interest from pasta makers, bakers, and consumers alike. Some consumers who thought they were sensitive to modern wheat began reporting that this ancient wheat variety seemed easier to digest, improves insulin resistance in diabetics, and causes less gastrointestinal distress or inflammation than they typically experienced with wheat products

Yelp
Saturday afternoon 1:50PM I walked in 4 employees standing there all look at me and the lady says "We're Closed!! Instead of saying, "Welcome in. I said it's not 2 o'clock yet, she said we're closed!. all I wanted was coffee. She said no coffee! Wow terrible customer service or I should say No customer service! Do better!

Yelp
We always pass by this area and we always wanted to try it so yesterday, July 18 around 12:30 we visited the place to try their bread.. Not much to see inside, it was basically so quiet, not enough displayed bread to choose from but we tried Ham and Cheese Croissant and Chocolate Croissant.. For the price of $6.50 it was quite expensive .. The taste? ok not something special.. Bread was cold and hard like it's been on display for a day or two, meaning it isn't fresh... I wanna give 5 stars to the awesome customer service, the lady who attended to us was very friendly... Anyways, hopefully they have more variety of bread to choose from..
google avatar

Chetan S.

Yelp
They seem to have run out of stock on many varieties and the whole wheat loaf they gave us did not seem to match our understanding of that type of bread. Anyway bread was not too bad in taste. Charged us $1 for slicing and that by a machine seemed atrocious. Hope others have a better experience

Yelp
A cute little bakery with delicious pastries, and unforgettable coffee just a short walk down from the Napa scene. I thoroughly enjoyed coming here multiple days while visiting downtown Napa.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice little find in Napa for baked goods - especially sourdough bread. One of the very few establishments that will offer to have bread sliced (for an additional dollar) and well worth it. Thank you for the service and sourdough find, West Won!

Yelp
We saw West Won at the Martinez Farmer's Market on Easter Sunday. Got an Olive Bread and a Whole Wheat Loaf - loved both. The person running the booth was fantastic and super nice.

Yelp
Amazing Avo toast! We came 2 mornings in a row. If you want to avoid the downtown crowds and prices and have amazing fresh sourdough, come here

Kim Y.

Yelp
Best Multigrain loaf ever!! Be careful, sometimes they sell you a loaf of the sour dough when ask for Multigrain. They charge a extra $1 to slice but I recommend it!! Best bread in Napa for sure!!! I am spoiled by it! All organic!

Yelp
we stopped by these bakery on a Friday morning on our way to winetasting in Napa Valley. This was my first time. There was plenty of parking. The bakery had many types of bread for sale, as well as pastries, cookies, and drinks. We ordered four sandwiches to go, a baguette, a poppyseed, coffee, cake, and four cookies with a raspberry jam. Everything was very good, however, the star of the show was the baguette. The baguette was crusty on the outside and had a very good flavor. We did not order any coffee because they only had drip coffee at that time. They also have outdoor seating.

Yelp
My regular go-to local bakery for bread. They use only organic grains and flour, naturally leavened with a sourdough base for everything. While I try not to play favorites, it's difficult for me to leave without a loaf of their sourdough, which contains more sourdough base than the other varieties. Other favorites include the ham & cheese croissant, and the hatch chili & artichoke pastry. I'll add that many locals consider this a favorite sandwich shop.

Carl W.

Yelp
Very, very helpful I was looking everywhere for a high protein bread, and all the bakeries. I talked to didn't even know what I was talking about. This is the place to go and help me out and it was perfect and delicious.

Yelp
I just love his bakery, they have wonderful breads, and great sandwiches too. The baguette sandwich with chicken and brie cheese with arugula and some kind of spread is so good! I also really like the pastries, there is a bacon and maple sugar croissant with almonds that I crave frequently. I like the cookies and bsweet breads too. The staff is nice , the bakers are friendly, and the owner is very charming and kind with an adorable son. I'm a fan and I will be back!

Lauren Cebula ..

Yelp
Great avocado toast and iced latte! Excellent service too! I sat outside for a little bit. It was nice.

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular bread. I pick up at least one loaf and other baked goods at the farmers market on Wednesday in Santa Rosa at farmers lane plaza. They are so excited to tell you all about the baking process and how special the bread is and I agree 100%. All organic too. So don't wait get some West won baked goods, you will be delighted like us.

Carlos A.

Yelp
We had the a avocado toast and it did not disappoint. However, I would recommend not eating here but taking to go. The service was not so great. They almost seemed annoyed that we were there. The pre-made sandwiches looked really good as did the bread. Would be a great place to provision for a picnic

Muoi H.

Yelp
Bookmark West Won for their pastries and finally stop by to try some ! Paid with cash with a small discount Everything we got was pretty good -the chocolate croissant was huge in size , buttery flaky with a good chew but wish there was a bit more chocolate ! Same with the apple danish needed more apple pieces ! Worth a try but don't think I'll come back !

Yelp
Stopped in to West Won upon high recommendation from my brother and sister in law. First off, you're greeted quickly with a smile, and it smells awesome in there with all of the baked bread! I opted for the avocado toast with burrata, and I will absolutely going back in for another before I leave town! So much flavor AND filling on one simple slice of bread. I also ordered the vanilla burnt sugar iced latte that I enjoyed. I grabbed a slab of the focaccia bread to try later this evening, and my tummy was grumbling all the way home because it smells so fragrant and savory. Looking forward to digging in to that this evening!

Yelp
I bought a loaf of bread from this vendor at the Richmond Farmer's market. He told me it was $13.00. At first, my app showed a charge of $13.39 so I assumed he added 3% for credit card fees (okay but he should have stated that at time of purchase). However, the final charge resolved at $14.69!!!!!!!! I can only assume he added something on the tip line after I purchased. NOT OKAY. I disputed the difference with my bank and they credited me. Vendor has lost a potential regular customer as the bread was good, but I don't do business with dishonest people

Yelp
I love love this place, it was on the way to Napa , a quaint little shop, I was all I thought would be.. Smelling of fresh bread, their pastries are to die for, imagine eating fresh baked bread with loads of flavorful olive oil, yummy pesto and soft clouds of burrata! The girls behind the counter are as wonderful as the food, I just wish they would be closer to home, if you are in the area, it's a must try

Julie L.

Yelp
I saw they responded to my post, but they did not reach out to me. Somehow not surprised by this. I wasn't expecting a refund. But the fact that I took the time to let them know they have a horrible product, was told to return the product and the girl at the counter rudely tossed it in the trash told me all I need to know. And the fact that the guy knew the chicken was crunchy like cartilage should say something as well. And to have the nerve to say it's perfectly fine to eat was shocking. Like seriously, who enjoys eating cartilage? Just so extremely disappointing on so many levels. I wish them good luck, but if they don't step up the customer service, this business will fail, especially since Model Bakery right down the street.

Courtney W.

Yelp
The sandwich I got was soo good! I felt like I walked into my fun aunts kitchen. The staff could quite literally have a fun reality show. Coffee was awesome too! I'm kicking myself for not buying a loaf of bread!
google avatar

Rocky P.

Yelp
It's way too expensive. 32 dollars for one small sandwich and 2 drinks. I can't think of a reason to go back. Lots of other places. Pass.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
This is my go to bakery in town! I've lived in Napa my entire life and I love this place!!! Their bread is awesome and super fresh! They have great quality and variety! Today I picked up a tomato focaccia bread that is out of this world!!! Also they have delicious cookies and pastries! Everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful too!! You will love it!
google avatar

M S.

Yelp
Anyone giving this place less than 5 stars needs to seek a therapist and get to the root of their problems. Holy hell ---- went for the first time this morning and got a little of everything....and what a great decision that was. Tomato soup-----the best I've ever had. The chocolate croissant has the most delicious and delicate filling. And the quinoa loaf I brought to work 2 hours ago is now half a gone because everyone keeps making toast. The woman working front of the house is just a doll. What a find, stop ------- what you are doing and go. Now.

Brandon G.

Yelp
Delicious sandwiches, friendly owner. Beautiful little place that I stopped by, and the owner even recommended wineries and restaurants to go to.

Yelp
Came for a grab n go since we were going on a wine tour later that day and this salad was divine. i loved it! Hubby got the tahini drink and was just okay. I'd recommend for their grab n go items!

Mike F.

Yelp
Awesome food and the people are so nice! This is home of one of the best sourdough loaves within driving distance in the Bay Area. Reasonably priced and great ambiance. Will come back!
google avatar

Genie L.

Yelp
The avocado toast is amazinnnnggggg!!!! The flavors are insane, with the garlicky salsa verde, over burrata, avocado and a fresh-baked slice of toast. The scones are good too.
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
I've come here a couple times and each time I'm even more impressed. The first time I came I had their avocado toasted with and open faced egg and, wow, best avocado toast I've ever had. This time around I got a lentil salad to go and their special which was a thick slice of rye toast with Bree cheese, honey, orange slices and rosemary and again, still dreaming of it. Love this place!
google avatar

Melody B.

Yelp
Okay.... Because there were wonderful comments about this place on the other app (Neighborhood ), I decided to visit today ! I headed there about 1 hr til closing. But there was still a handful of baguettes, raisin bread, 'pumpkin cookies', etc I just have to say , I sliced my baguette, did a pesto recipe (with their pesto) , and served the fam. I then took a bite out of the pumpkin cookie... OMGoodness! They are closed at 2pm!!!!! I want more !!!! I went to each household member if they want a taste of the cookie (as the remainder will be mine !!!!) Lastly the raisin bread... I'll gladly halve this with my neighbor ... and freeze my half I am definitely going back ... but not everyday because I definitely should not do a carb overload ... it'll definitely have me slumped by the end of any day It's a must go everyone !

D F.

Yelp
Well, it's a good thing I don't live closer to this location. Stopped today with a friend and had the flat croissant filled with artichokes and jalepeno (if I'm remembering correctly), and a coffee. Both were fabulous and I barely managed to not buy more. They also had a table with fresh pasta and sauces for sale. I'll be back for sure!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
I still really love this place, everything is incredible. There have been some changes however. The menu is very limited now, all breads are still available fresh every day along with cookies, yum. That being said you cannot go in anymore and order a salad or sandwich from the previous menu. There are pre-packaged salads and sandwiches in the cold case along with other deli style items. Unfortunate for some but I understand why they did this.( WestWon Bread- not deli ) It's a great place to pick up a lunch item in the morning which is hard to do, so that's a major plus! Will continue to go back frequently as usual. Oh and the dressings for the salads are soooo good.

Julie L.

Yelp
I went to West Won Bread in Napa today. They had a chicken salad in the cooler for $8.00. A smallish chicken salad with lots of celery. When I ate the chicken, to my disappointment it was crunchy, and I am not referring to the celery. I attempted to try another piece and again crunch, like eating a salad made from knee caps, ears, and noses. I immediately called to let them know the salad was FUNKY. Staff wanted me to bring it in so they could show the person who made the salad. I told her they may want to remove the salads from the fridge because it was GROSS. So I brought said salad back and the staff treated me like crap. Horrible customer service is an understatement. I tried to explain how the salad is "crunchy" and not normal like chicken salad. They stared at me like I was an idiot and one of the crew said extra dramatically "Ummmm, we don't make the salad her. I said regardless if where it is mad, it's gros, and crunchy, and the girl told me to bring it back. The crew member said "how is it crunchy? I said like undercooked chicken crunchy. He said "was it like cartilage? I said yes, it was. He then gots to the fridge, pulls out the chicken they use for said chicken salad which they don't make there, and said that it's smoked with the skin and cartilage and the thinner pieces come out more like cartilage and it is perfectly fine to eat. So basically it's normal to have a crunchy cartilage salad, just not in my world. They took my salad, threw it in the trash in front of me, and didn't even offer to make me anything else, and definitely didn't offer a refund. McDonald's Chicken Nuggets are a delicacy next to the overpriced crap they tried to pass off as a salad. I will definitely be having nightmares about what I attempted to eat, even though I am sure I have had worse things in my mouth. I will not be spending my money there again. Horrible food, horrible customer service, and not the cleanest place I have been to. If you like chicken cartilage salad, this might be right up your alley.

Lee G.

Yelp
West won bread is a local sandwich shop. They make their sandwiches fresh daily and sell discounted day old sandwiches. I tried their frenchie, a Ham sandwich on a fresh baguette roll, and it was great. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. Give this place a shot!
google avatar

Tony G.

Yelp
I've tried to sample the breads here but twice I've arrived mid day the door is open people inside and they are closed for business not a good way to run a business
google avatar

Fluffy R.

Yelp
JUST GO TO HERE!! Superb quality!! awesome structure, crumb, crust and chew! yum yum yummy thanks
google avatar

Kathy G.

Yelp
Delicious Bread. I bought the sprouted wheat sourdough loaf. Took it home slathered butter on the heal that I cut extra thick, popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds and man, oh, man...that's the best bread I've had in years. Mellissa waited on us and was very nice and we had some laughs. Cheery place with a great old west vibe. Glad we stumbled upon this hole in the wall deliciousness!! I also bought the bacon Croissants and have yet to try that!! But I can't wait!!! I will be a regular customer, for sure!!

MJ Y.

Yelp
The avocado toast is 10/10! A must try and when you go. Also tried the focaccia potato (pizza) slice today, soooo good! Huge slice too for $6! Not bad at all!!
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
I just had the avocado toast with burrata cheese. It was probably the best I've ever had. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Gabryel G.

Yelp
I stopped by this place after passing it by a couple times on a pizza run. I am so glad I decided to splurge for breakfast. What a treat! I got the Le Petit Breakfast Toast, which was delicious- nice thick bread, creamy cheese, and the right amount of honey to make everything balanced and great with coffee. I also grabbed a lemon ginger scone and it was an experience! Not very sweet, but with real ginger- it's warming and very flavorful and great with sweetened coffee too. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

nancy k.

Yelp
Absolutely the best scone I have ever had.!!!!! John the father of the owner was so incredibly welcoming and kind and informative what a sweetie!!!
google avatar

Ron R.

Yelp
Wow. This is the BEST bread! We only get it here in Calistoga 4 days a week, but I would love to have it ALL the time. Perfect crisp crust. Medium soft interior. Tasty sour dough umami. I just Love this bread. More than any other around, including Acme (my 2nd favorite) or Model. Just Grrrreat!

Sara A.

Yelp
Fantastic folks making delicious things happen. I often catch them at the Saturday farmers market but had plotted a surprise breakfast drop off for some friends and needed a loaf for toast (homemade ham) and they had just what I needed including a snack for myself for the road. Friendly faces!

Linda M.

Yelp
Couple weeks ago I stopped in on my way to pick up a Papa Murphy's pizza to have a look as it was before 2 pm when they close. They had some sliced leek/ham quiche and I bought 2 slices. I love quiche, but am always disappointed. OMG, that was the best quiche I've tasted since back in the 70's at a French cafe/bakery when I worked in San Francisco! Never found anything comparable until now. So creamy, rich flavor, excellent crust....not cheap, but nothing is anymore (I've tried making my own for years, but not even close), so next time I will order a whole pie...yes, it was THAT good (and quiche freezes well)! I will now also try their other bakery items for sure. So, kudos to West Won Bakery...well done!
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
Saw that this bakery opened up over FB's "Support Napa Restaurants" page and came down to treat ourselves before a big house project. We chose three different bread toasts to try: strawberry/nut butter; honey & cheese; granola and mascarpone. All three were amazing in their own right, but we loved the "special of the day" with the breakfast cheese and honey on a raisin and nut toast. The creaminess of the cheese with the mild sweetness of the honey was just wonderful. The strawberries were very fresh on the other toast and the granola toast had this wonderful nutty, butter taste. A great place to have a relaxing Sunday breakfast!
google avatar

Ben G.

Yelp
Great stuff. The sandwiches are made with care and have the highest quality ingredients. Amazing stuff...I'm so glad they're improving the quality of available food on that part of Soscol. Swing on by and get some great food!

Vivi N.

Yelp
Well made breads, great tasting breads! We only bought several of their breads, which we love. They all taste great!
