We are staying at the hotel for a conference and we came to the bar for a couple of drinks last night. The service was really disappointing. We sat for 15 minutes at the bar waiting for a bartender to acknowledge us. There were 4 people behind the bar who were more engaged in other activities other than realizing that we were waiting to be served. I also noticed several people were sitting with empty or no drinks.
We finally were able to order a drink. Sipped on those for 20 minutes. I pushed my empty glass to the edge of the bar, thinking that the bartender would ask if I wanted another, (which I did), but instead she picked up my glass tossed the ice and put my glass in the dishwasher, not inquiring if I wanted another.
We were not once asked if we were interested in seeing a menu. We would have ordered a couple of snacks had we been given menus. The bartender's were so distracted talking with each other, we couldn't get their attention to ask for a menu. We gave up.
I overheard the bartender trying to recall how to make a Manhattan and watched her instead make an Old Fashioned. As a former bartender, I'm surprised that this hotel doesn't have a more professional and knowledgeable staff behind the bar.
