"Following a nearly three month renovation and a rebranding, the new Hutton Hotel restaurant WestEnd Kitchen & Bar very quietly opened its doors the first week of December. Since then they have been making final tweaks and keeping things pretty low profile, but Eater Nashville recently got a look inside. The restaurant is night and day compared to its previous incarnation as 1808 Grille. After being completely gutted, gone is the somewhat monochromatic color palette and in its place is a more modern and inviting dining room. Studio 11 Design out of Dallas, Texas handled design duties for the 118-seat space, which includes a 19-seat wraparound bar which serves both the lobby and the restaurant, as well as a private dining room. The beige banquettes that once filled the room are no more, with the restaurant now offering a variety of seating including two, four, and six-top tables. The chunky, dark wood that previously wrapped around the center column has been replaced by sleek white tiles, and the renovated bar adds a pop of color and now feels more connected to the dining room with high-top tables in place of booths." - Matt Rogers

Food was ok at best, the wings were over cooked and chewy. The bar guy was ok but not very friendly to us. would not go back here if I had to. I would avoid this place if I were you.

We are staying at the hotel for a conference and we came to the bar for a couple of drinks last night. The service was really disappointing. We sat for 15 minutes at the bar waiting for a bartender to acknowledge us. There were 4 people behind the bar who were more engaged in other activities other than realizing that we were waiting to be served. I also noticed several people were sitting with empty or no drinks. We finally were able to order a drink. Sipped on those for 20 minutes. I pushed my empty glass to the edge of the bar, thinking that the bartender would ask if I wanted another, (which I did), but instead she picked up my glass tossed the ice and put my glass in the dishwasher, not inquiring if I wanted another. We were not once asked if we were interested in seeing a menu. We would have ordered a couple of snacks had we been given menus. The bartender's were so distracted talking with each other, we couldn't get their attention to ask for a menu. We gave up. I overheard the bartender trying to recall how to make a Manhattan and watched her instead make an Old Fashioned. As a former bartender, I'm surprised that this hotel doesn't have a more professional and knowledgeable staff behind the bar.

The food quality was on par with Shoney's, which, to summarize, means bad. And the service was far worse... is what I would say if there were any service to describe. I honestly couldn't tell you what our waitress looked like. We repeatedly had to go up front and get the hostess just to do the most basic things for us. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other. And it was grossly overpriced, fine dining prices, the type you'd expect from establishments that have a waiter for each separate guest, for bottom rung food. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Ate there last night for restaurant week. The venue was cool! I'd say the food was half and half. I started with the hush puppies in pimento cheese and they were good, but nothing special. For the salad I had the elk loin. It was a very small potion, which I ended up being glad for- too gamy for me. The fettuccini was delicious though and the pudding for dessert was phenomenal!! I'd go back for the pudding alone! Our waitress was really helpful with explaining the menu and making recommendations!

Very disappointing Easter brunch. Music was so loud you couldn't talk. Uncomfortable seating. Food was only mediocre. Service was very poor and there was a mandatory 20% charge for six of us (no wonder service was poor!). Quiche was picked over and cold. Bacon wasn't cooked enough. Terrible wait time for omelet station even though it wasn't crowded - so I finally gave up. NO BISCUITS! How can you have a brunch without biscuits? In fact, their bread selection was very poor. I asked three people about biscuits and the first two said no, didn't have them. The last person asked me how it was going. I expressed my disappointment and he said they could have fixed that and he was sorry I got the wrong answer from the first two! Unreal! PLEASE don't go here for a brunch. It was terrible in every way! BTW, six of us, no extra drinks, total charge was $310 including the mandatory tip (and did I mention the service was terrible). Will NEVER EVER GO BACK AGAIN!

I had the most unbelievable experience here for dinner this past weekend. A group of (locals) had tickets to Friday night's show at the Analog in the same building. We had arrived 1 hour and 15 mins before we were planning to head up stairs for the show. We had ordered chicken caesar salads and one humus plate. As the time was going on we eventually had to cancel our meals because we didn't want to miss the show and had already been waiting a while. Then the Manager, Kristina, proceeded to bring our food anyways and have the most awful attitude. She was literally standing 4 inches away from me with the worst tone. At one point I had to say "you're tone right now is infuriating" where she proceeded to say "I don't want to raise my voice or call yall names..." which confused us because no one was being rude or calling names just makes us think she wanted to call us names. She told us we shouldn't have ordered meat if we had a show and its a friday night (we were literally 1 of three tables seated) and we had already been there a hour waiting only for chicken caesar salads and humas. We weren't even that upset that we didn't get our food we just wanted to pay for our drinks but she was SO RUDE. She proceeded to take 15 mins to bring us our checks for the 1-2 drinks each of us had. She gave us our checks and wished us a good time at the show but that's not all.... It gets worse. We walked up stairs to our show where we were told we could not enter and have been cut off. She then walks past us with a smug smile and had told the people at the door we were being aggressive. We are just so amazed this happened. We have never experienced something so unbelievable especially since all of us waited tables in nice restaurants before graduating college. Kristina is gonna lose business for your restaurant and hotel if you allow her to treat patrons this way. Maybe some time and resources should be invested in Kristina so she understands what appropriate conduct is in the service industry, especially since other staff (who didn't seem the like her much) told us she has only worked there for a week.

Great food and service by friendly staff with terrific smiles and attitudes in a restaurant with cool decor. I sat at the bar and wasn't that hungry and was given two recommendations and went with the Ahi tuna poké and it was a tasty, sensible choice. I was going to go across the street to a burger joint but was told this place inside the Hutton Hotel had good food--and they were right!

Damien and the rest of the staff at the bar were excellent while we waited for our room. A great start to our trip!
