Westfield statford offers excellent and diverse shopping options However, the layout seems to favour the retailers and not the shopper. The amount of seating is disproportionate to the footfall and amount of shopping outlets. The shopping aisles seem narrow and claustrophobic. You can find a place to stop and rest near the toilets beside the upper food court. As spaces are always being made available, by people moving on after waiting for their family or friends to use the WC Toilets are immaculately kept and always clean. Brilliant and spacious family rooms and free water fountains. It's a shame the performance of the retailers lets Westfield down. Behind the fancy shopfronts and big names, the shopping experience is poor. You're better off finding a nice comfortable place to sit and shopping online. Shopping staff do not know enough about the products they sell. That's if you can find a member of staff to help you. They simply process your purchase and that's it. You might as well buy online, with that level of service. The lower food court have more affordable options. You can't find a seat near the affordable mcdonald's. If you're wealthy or are having and extravagant day, you will probably find somewhere good to eat. The shopping experience is not as enjoyable as it used to be. But this is not down to Westfield, but the retailers. Primark and John Lewis are the stars of Westfield, but at opposite ends of the shopping experience. With Primark, it cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for. With john Lewis, staff actually say hello to you and are available to help and answer questions. Old fashioned shopping experience.

Westfield Stratford City was the first shopping mall I've visited in the UK. It was a bleak Monday night with clear skies and cool air. My parents and I, along with my aunt Cicely, rode the tube from South Kensington to Stratford for our first soccer match experience in England. It was the English Premier League match between West Ham United and Brentford at the London Olympic Stadium. Once we walked inside the mall, it looked pretty reminiscent of any large shopping mall we’ve visited in America (like the Tysons Corner Center in the Washington D.C. area, for instance). We didn't have much time to check out any of their stores, but we ate our pregame dinner at the food court. I had the BBQ Chicken Melts from Pizza Hut Express. They were really good. The food court also has great fast food restaurants like Bunsik, Popeyes, McDonald’s, etc.

The mall is conveniently located and the closest one to me, so I visit quite often. However, it is frequently extremely busy, and it can be very difficult to find somewhere to sit if you just want a quick bite to eat. Over the years, some of the better shops, such as & Other Stories, have closed, and many of the replacements feel more like fast‑fashion, cheaper brands, which I do not enjoy. Overall it is a good mall with potential, but it could be so much better with a stronger mix of quality retailers and more comfortable seating areas.

Its a massive, well maintained shopping and entertainment complex with hundreds of stores, a vast food court offering global cuisines, and a range of entertainment options including Gravity Max and John Lewis. Its excellent transport links via nearby Stratford Station make it a convenient destination for a full day out, although it can get very crowded. While it boasts many amenities like family play areas and clean restrooms, some visitors note a lack of seating in dining areas and the potential for high traffic.

Westfield Stratford City is an immense, modern, and efficiently designed lifestyle destination that lives up to its reputation as one of London's best shopping venue. Vast in size, it offers an exceptional retail variety, mixing high-street favorites, designer boutiques, and international brands making it a place where visitors can easily spend a full day . . The culinary options are equally impressive, ranging from diverse food court stalls and specialty parlors to full-service restaurants. Its intuitive design, featuring clear signage at every corner, makes this giant centre remarkably easy to navigate . . However, our family visit on September 7, 2024 (which included my wife, her elder sister, nephew, and his dependents), was generally positive, though a few minor flaws were observed: the common areas were periodically crowded and noisy; the excessive internal warmth made prolonged visits and walking around less comfortable; and the public washrooms were generally average in cleanliness and overcrowded across various levels . . Overall, the location remains a fantastic place with superb car parking near Stratford station, offering unparalleled convenience and an ideal day out. Nonetheless, addressing these small but critical maintenance issues is imperative for the management. Specifically, optimizing the air conditioning and improving restroom hygiene would ensure visitor comfort and fully match the premium quality of this magnificent shopping centre in the Olympic Park, East London retail hub . . .

Westfield Stratford City, located at Montfichet Rd, London E20 1EJ, is one of the largest shopping centres in Europe. It offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options including a cinema and bowling. The mall is modern, clean, and well-connected by public transport. Parking is available but can get busy on weekends. Great place for shopping, dining, and leisure all in one spot.

Great for variety of shops. Good parking facilities. Eateries are average inside the mall. One of the restaurants charged me £3.5 for a 300ml water bottle. That was rip off. One star knocked for just that. But plenty of options outside also. I haven’t tried most of them though. There is a good churros place just outside hyat regency. Btw, I didn’t realise there was Hyatt regency hotel nearby which is very convinient. Definitely want to try this someday. Overall good experience. Great place for a day out.

Quality/Quantity - The major mall and attraction in this city. This review will not do this place justice as it is a must visit when in town. Also, you must visit the neighboring parks, business, attractions, and restaurants. Huge shopping center. Has everything from inexpensive to expensive shopping. A ridiculous amount of eating establishments, again from inexpensive to expensive. Atmosphere - Well location, easy access from the train or buses. 213 stores 91 options for dining, see pictures. Events, bowling, batting cages, bars with music, cinema, gaming arenas, casino, etc. Open 7 days a week. I am sure there is also easy parking, but we took the train which was very easy. Service - Depends on where you shop and eat. Price - Depends on where you shop and eat. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your worldwide success.

Woooow! This mall is HUGE and gorgeous. I'm not really a big mall shopper, but I would definitely come here often if I lived nearby. This is one of the largest shopping malls in all of Europe and I can totally see why. With over 350 stores and almost 2 million square feet of retail floor space, a shopaholic could go mad in here! I mean, can you imagine? Each time walking in here to explore a different store. I'm a makeup addict, and the first thing that I noticed was that this mall had a Morphe store! They don't have too many Morphe stores in my area, and this one was one of the largest that I've ever seen. I also went into the NYX store which was big and beautiful. The store associates were so sweet! I think they knew that I wasn't from the UK, but they were still really nice. This mall also has a really large food court with tons of options. I found a cute little creperie there where I had breakfast one morning. The Stratford Station is walking distance from the entrance, and the pedestrian bridges make it so easy to access. This mall has everything from luxury retailers to department stores, financial institutions, high end tech shops and even grocery shops. It's gigantic. It's a bit out of the way from Central London but a dream for those who love to shop and explore. I would love to come back one day to explore more of their 300+ shops.

Westfield Stratford City is quite possibly the best shopping centre I have visited, it is the fourth largest in the UK by retail space and one of the largest urban shopping centres in Europe. Westfield Stratford City opened in 2011 ahead of the Olympics, and it still looks brand new, the mall is stunning, vibrant and has a fantastic, unique design across its' three floors, some stores have bonus floors too If you're looking to spend some time exploring East London, this is the perfect place to start, with the Olympic Stadium being a couple of minutes away, which is now home to West Ham United FC - do be careful if visiting on an event-day as the centre can become busy with many football fans trying to pass through, although security is on hand to try and limit this however possible. Flagship retailers include large stores from Marks and Spencer, John Lewis and Waitrose. Many other big brands have stores here including Apple, Currys PC World, H&M, Uniqlo, Nespresso and many more - There's even two branches of Starbucks and a VUE cinema! Another big pro about Westfield at Stratford City is how, unlike many other large malls, it feels more open and doesn't seem to get stuffy or awkward at all (I'm talking about you Trafford Centre!), there is a small outdoor area too. Many of the shops within the mall are good branches within their chains too, this is possibly one of the best places to shop in London as a whole, being just a short ride away on the DLR, Jubilee Line or via rail services from Central London. Westfield Stratford City is a rare example of a shopping centre delivering a large, modern shopping experience with a great selection of places to eat and drink, it's unique and stands out, there are even hotels right outside including a new Curio Collection by Hilton which is opening towards the end of 2021, which I feel warrants a full five-star rating.

If you love to shop, but can't stand the horrendous crowds and dangerous street crossings in the midst of bustling traffic that is Oxford Circus, the Westfield Shopping Center in Stratford is your next best bet. Sure, it's still crowded, but not unbearably so. And with it being indoors, chances are you'll be way more comfortable while you browse, as you're protected from the elements. It's also conveniently located right next to Stratford Station, so your next bout of buyer's remorse is, literally, just a tube ride away. The complex is ENORMOUS, and it has just about any kind of shop you could imagine, from clothing stores, to electronics stores, chocolate and candy shops to skincare lines. There are even grocery stores- including a Little Waitrose- with plenty of fresh, delicious, healthy, and not-so-healthy foods right at your finger tips. Located just outside the centre, is another set of stores and restaurants called, 'The Street,' which brings with it more temptation and a bit of flair from it beings outdoors and surrounded by bright lights and big-screen TV's trying to get you to buy more. Obviously, you don't have to come here to buy anything. In fact, I ca,e just to people-watch, soak up the energy, and feast on free samples from the food stalls along the way. It's a nice enough place to do it.

It's a mall and there are Westfields everywhere but there's something about shopping in another country that is just more exotic and fun. If you need to get out but don't want to go to a bunch of different places then come to the mall, get your exercise in, have lunch, and shop...it's great! They have everything. I have to say, when I arrived in London and my friend picked me up at the airport and I started asking all the usual questions a tourist has, I think that her face lit up when I asked about shopping. She was most excited about the fact that the tube I needed to take to get to where I needed to be was going to go by here, actually not by here, through here. When she first started to describe this place she made it known that it is the first mall attached to the tube making it a destination for many people to journey to. I didn't believe her until I visited myself, and it was true. This place is massive. So massive that it is most likely impossible to discover all the stores in one visit. I kind of like just ran through the mall making small stops on my way. I browsed, I bought, I left. That about sums it up. Honestly it is so busy in this place that it is a bit ridiculous. Like, why wouldn't it be busy? Oh maybe because there are three floors of shopping bliss. I felt as if this place went on forever which made it feel like I was in a maze at times. I shopped in all the stores that looked familiar to me and discovered a few that were intriguing. I especially liked the IKEA, I don't know exactly what it is about an IKEA, but I always find enjoyment inside. If I had had more time, I would have spent it here.

Great place for shopping - it has all your major stores: Marks & Spencer, Zara, TopShop, Uniquo, H&M, John Lewis, Primark and more. 3 floors of shopping so get ready to spend a few hours if you want to cover all :) They also have stores just outside the mall like TKMaxx (yes TKMaxx as in TJMaxx). Also awesome - they have an upscale world food court - British, Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Caribbean were just some of the many great choices for lunch. They also have casual/fast food options on the bottom floor. In addition they have some nice sit-down restaurants inside the mall (e.g., Nando's, Wagamama), and outside the restaurant - we went to Jamie Oliver's restaurant for dinner. Yes it was a full afternoon of shopping for us! My favorites - Zara (HUGE!), TopShop, Bershka, Stradivarius and Kurt Geiger. Sports Direct is good if you're looking for soccer jerseys. FYI they're located right next to Stratford tube station which is also the end point for the Jubilee iine. Westfield Mall also has a location in west London which I heard is easier to navigate but smaller.

The food quality was really good. The chicken was the one of the best and favourite dish.

Great mall and excellent entertaining and dining options. We found everything from Armani exchange to TJ Maxx. Our luggage was lost so we had to go buy emergency clothes . We were pleasantly surprised with the options. Additionally it has a hip vibe with great music and lots of people watching options . Finally the dining options are great. We ate dinner at Cabana and it was heavenly.

Mega mall but even better than Westfield Shepherds bush since it has a big John Lewis which is my favourite department store. Why battle along Oxford St when you can come here? You can feel the frisson of shopping and spending money. What recession?! You wouldn't think so visiting this place which was buzzing with people. Perhaps they were all just looking around like me since it recently opened. Like the Shepherds bush Westfield, it's on a huge scale and is well designed and laid out and benefits from being brand new. Huge food court on the 3rd level with lots of good quality options. I enjoyed chicken and black bean sauce with hand pulled noodles - excellent at Lotus Leaf , sadly not on Yelp....yet. You can see the Olympic park from the top floor of John Lewis and it's just across the road. Excellent transport connections with Stratford station (17 platforms including trains to Liverpool St, 2 underground lines and overground) as well as separate stations for DLR and Stratford International station (Hi Speed One to St. Pancras in 7 mins and to Kent ).

I wrote the following review on another entry for Westfield Stratford in London in Yelp. Here it is: It was so very convenient to have this very large shopping mall next to our hotel. We always walked through here on the way to the tube (subway) and back to the hotel. Surprisingly, we did not do much shopping here at all. We only shopped for snacks and meals at Waitrose. We also ate a few times at various places in the food courts here. There were at least two separate food court areas at Westfield. We preferred the one on the lower level. I really could not tell you if there are good deals at this mall. We did not come even remotely close to exploring the entire mall because it was gigantic. Many shops to choose from here. We'd normally get back from our day's adventures after 10pm. Although, the shops would be closed. The shopping center was still open. We'd stop at the tables at the food court area to hang out for a bit. Also, we'd use their free Wi-fi!! We had better signal with their wi-fi compared to our hotel's. We'd start our day and hang out here before using the subway. We'd wait until 9:30am to avoid the crowds and get a better deal on the daily pass. With the exception of Waitrose supermarket and some places in the food courts, the rest of the shops were closed. No chance for my wife to do shopping! Saved a lot of money cause we were here during closing hours. As I mentioned earlier, having Westfield close by was very convenient. I never thought I'd give a shopping center 5 stars, but they were worth it to me.

I don't really like shopping - well apart from food shopping and having 3 kids at home and no car means I am always food shopping. But mall shopping - not really a pleasure - more a necessary evil .....school shoes, clothes for holiday etc....the kids like it here which means we jump on a train from Liverpool Street perhaps once a month to hit the stores. It is right next to Stratford station which is a huge plus for a quick escape. It is very big and not very exciting - there is a rather dull Apple store - much better to go to Covent Garden and lots of fashion stores that I try not to get dragged into. An ordinary WH Smiths, and a rather nice Marks and Spencers with a great foodhall - decent coffee surprisingly. Lovely Waitrose (that seems to be always empty) but has a small butchers.... Its going to be busy...get there early, get round quick and get out quicker and it will be pain free. Linger too long and you will be swamped by the masses. It is really really poorly signposted (lose a star for that) - it is a total nightmare to find a particular store. And as I am always in a rush to escape I haven't really explored all the bits connected to the main section. Lots of predictable food options that again get very very busy. And you can see the Olympic Park which seems a pretty good reason to visit....

It's a mall. It's massive. It's filled with shoppers of ALL description. Going to Westfield is much like having had a head full of Farrah Fawcett feathered hair. I've done it and don't need to repeat it. If one has unruly children to tucker out, then haul them to Stratford on a weekend day, and run them up and down the floors of Westfield. Afterward, they'll be put down to bed without a fuss. Nice.

I just want to say that I was very happy with the service and shopping facilities in this store.

This place is very crowded on a Saturday afternoon. With the overground, underground, and a bus transit station, there is a lot of foot traffic here. The mall is spacious with many shops and fairly good size food court. Place was packed so avoided the area. There is an indoor and outdoor area. The indoor area feels comfy with a lot of natural lighting. I did not spend to much time here because of the crowds and mainly looked in on my way to my tube station.

Westfield Stratford City remind me the big supermall which you can find in a regular big city, I do like the design of it, it really modern and I like there is a playground at the upper floor as well, it is so cool to walk on it, you can play chess or just sit down read a magazine or have yourself some ice. There are well-know brands inside the mall, such as Zara, H&M and so on. For shopping this is quite a nice place. If you are just looking for stuff, which from the famous brands. I also like their food court, really neat, the atmosphere was quite nice for a food court. They offer different cuisines around the world here. I was trying to find the KFC or subway such as fast food, There were actually at the basement floor. That's quite different with most of supermall in Germany. But I have some supermall get similar arrangement. I am not sure what they were located that at the basement floor, probably something to do with the smell. For the neighborhood in Stratford, Westfield seems to be really popular place to hang around, the station Stratford is close by as well, you can get to TfL, DLR or bus here, quite a busy place. I do like to stop at the footbridge between the mall and the station for a short moment just to appreciate the view a bit.

Whoa, I'll be definitely coming back here again... If I decided to go on a day trip i would make a trip to Stratford Westfield such a huge crazy place I was only there for 45mins and I was taken back, three mega floor. I could spend stupid amount of money in this place like everyone said below all of the well know restaurant, fashion traders, car park and cinema a absolute all dayer. I can imaging sale time and how very crowed it would. Olympic Park is only a stone throw away. Good transport connection back into the city. I'll be bring my mom here for sure.

Massive shopping mall!!! It's the biggest shopping center in London and it's amazing and I see why! You have every store you can think of and more!! There's also many restaurants, a casino, bowling and more!! Reminded me of the palisades center in my hometown but much more fancier!! I got so many things to bring home to the US and this is Where my love for gourmet burger kitchen was founded. They even have a Huge M&S inside!!

This place is huge! You can spend a whole day in there... A specially when it's cold out. Direct access to the tube, so you don't have to get lost in the street to find it ;) In the end, though, it's a shopping centre. So no big surprise on the stores you will find. But again, it is huge, so there is a great variety of stores. You can also go to he outdoor shops annexed to it.

Excellent shopping centre in inner London area - Stratford City. If you are a shopping freak, you will absolutely love it. Clothes, food, electronics, books, everything is here. Busy even in weekdays.

It is a massive huge place with great food selections on possibly 2 different floors along with floors full of different types of shops everyone loves! Not just one building possibly also in 2! But the reasoning for my 4 star is I reckon there should be pay as you go electronic wheelchair machinery i travel to this city centre by train and i walk 90% but with my muscle conditions sometimes I need my wheelchair at extreme measures but I cannot lift my wheelchair on and off the train all the time... It would be a great measure if this shopping centre could at least add 5 wheelchairs on each floor for the people that have unshown mobility disabilities that don't use wheelchairs often as others including people that suffer with strong arthritis! Please try to make this a great addition to the shopping trip!

This is a HUGE mall, and I'm not exaggerating!! It has a movie theater, a bowling alley, a hotel, and both any inside and outside area. Part of the inside mall has 4 levels. It's huge! My only complaint is that the mall directory is awful and unhelpful. It doesn't list all the stores, it's difficult to interprete and hard to tell that there are so many sections. I do like that it is very close to the tube and bus station so it's easy to get there with public transportation.

Everything you need is in this place. Keep in mind that it is worse than rush hour on weekends and when a football match is taking place nearby. Lots of cafés, restaurants and shops.

The third biggest shopping mall in UK, on 3 floors with over 350 shops, restaurants, supermarket and Cinema. Has less charm and fanciness compared to the other Westfield in west area. Usually very busy due to the position close to the stadium and the rail station.

Oh Mann.. I hate this place.. I mean I love it.. Oh I don't know.. I have such an love/hate relationship going on. On the one hand, I love it, this Westfield has everything you could possibly want and more.. But oh god, it gets soooooooo busy, it makes it impossible to navigate around at anything more than a snails pace at peak time. The food options are pretty decent, with every type of cuisine and not just the standard chains such as bat & ball, potbelly cafe football..: Oh and did I mention it's home to Levi Roots' smokehouse... Oooh la la! This shopping centre is so easy to get to, with all the tube, train and bus links.. So if you wanna go shopping and can't face Oxford Street, give it a go, but try to avoid the busiest times.

This mall is great in every way. It is right next to major transit options, so easy to get to. It has a variety of stores and restaurants, so there are many shopping and eating options. It has very high and bright ceilings, so even though many people are around, it makes it feel a little less cramped. It also has a few additional niceties, like charging lockers for your phone, a Vue movie theatre, casino, and outdoor market/shopping area. An enjoyable place to wander or do serious shopping.

IT IS ABOUT TIME! At last there is finally a decent place for us East Londoners to go to! Astonished by the crowds of people gathered there on my every visit, I have often wondered where these people resided prior to the opening of Westfield Stratford City. Getting there isn't a problem. Just take car, bus, train, DLR, overground... you name it! There is everything you would expect to find in a typical Westfield smack bang in the hub of the future Olympics: modern architecture, places to eat, shops, a buzz... everything but SIZE! I only wonder whether it could handle the crowds in August 2012. Nevertheless, I just want to thank you a million times Westfield for giving us something. Just a place to eat, drink, and shop.

i've been a little homesick lately w/ thanksgiving coming up and not being able to go home. if you're an american, and you feel the same, then get your butt over to the westfield in stratford ASAP. there are westfield malls all over CA, and this one made me feel like i was at home. not only do you have all your typical clothing stores, starbucks, movie theatre, and food court, BUT there is also a forever 21 and (wait for it...) a FENTONS. if you are an east bay native like i am, you know what that is. i was shocked beyond belief!! a pinkberry is also coming soon! the movie theatre here is great, and you can pre-book your seats (which was necessary for twilight). the food court is awesome and contains many restaurants around london, including pho, rosa's thai, tortilla, and FRANCO MANCA. there was a pizza express nearby the FM, and i couldn't believe there were more people eating at pizza express! anyway, i will definitely be back to get my fill of americana.

As the largest shopping mall in Europe, the Westfield Stratford City certainly outdoes its sister property in Shepard's Bush in terms of the number and assortment of merchants present. The property is entirely new and boasts three floors of shopping, an impressively expansive food court and an upper restaurant floor, an outdoor shopping promenade (think Westfield LA Century City or San Diego), a Vue theater and posh bowling lanes (almost like Lucky Strikes). Easily accessible via tube on the Jubilee line or the DLR, Stratford station.

Westfield Stratford City really has me torn. On one hand it's London's biggest, brightest, shiniest new shopping mall. On the other hand it's a complete nightmare to visit, particularly on the weekends. This place is pretty easy to get to, which is a plus. The DLR, Jubilee line, Central line, and Overground all stop at Stratford Station, which is right next door. The facilities at the shopping centre are top notch. Americans and Australians will be familiar with Westfield and will probably be pleasantly surprised that something so modern is available in London. There are several major anchor stores here, include John Lewis, Waitrose, and Marks & Spencer. There's also a sizeable Primark, Currys, and all the typical stores you'd normally find in a shopping centre. As far as eating is concerned, the ground floor has lots of fast food, whilst the upper floors have a wider variety of restaurants. Even more restaurants are located outside, and there's also a movie theatre here, not to mention a full blown casino (weird), and a big fat parking garage. On paper Westfield Stratford City is fantastic. It's everything - shopping, dining, movies, gambling (again, weird!) - all in one place. This, however, might also be its downfall. It is so unbelievably busy here, to the point where it will drive you insane. Around lunchtime the ground floor food court more closely resembles a shark feeding frenzy than actual people sitting down to eat food. The crowds only seem to be getting worse and worse. Don't even think about visiting on a bank holiday weekend. If you must visit, try early on a weekday. If you must visit on a weekend, get up early and show up at 9am on Saturday. If you can get your shopping done by 11am you'll escape the major hoards of people.

Whoa this place gets busy. I thought it was packed because we were there on the last day of the Jubilee weekend and it was raining, but a co-worker confirmed that It's pretty much always a madhouse. Your best bet is to arrive early, we got there at 11a and had a good 1-2 hours of enjoying the laws of personal space while walking. Once it hit 2p, the place was heaving. Good mix of high end shops and day-to-day shopping. And I got my American shopping fix with a trip to Forever 21 - but only a longing look at the yet-to-open Victoria's Secret. The restaurant/food court area is predictably chain-laden (Pizza Express, Tortilla, Nando's, TGI Friday's). Skip the mall food and go to Wahaca, which has a location in the outdoor "The Street" section. There is also a Bumpkin and a Jamie Oliver Italian, if you want a little more oomph to your meal. I suggest making a day of it, because if you have a list to zip through this place will drive you crazy - better to just mill around. Also, I began to suspect the price points of everything seemed higher. We went to a movie at the Vue Cinema on site and packs of Cadbury's chocolates that are normally £2.15 were £4+ ... whoa. I vote the Iguanas bar as the best deal if you go during their happy hour (all day Sunday and 10-6 during the week, I think, don't quote me on that): 2-for-1 Brazilian inspired cocktails that are strong and well mixed. Plus it's set out of the restaurant and feels more like a bar, and overlooks the Olympic Park area. Oh, and all the shops are open until 10, every day except Sunday. That's pretty fantastic.

Ok, I have this love-hate relationship with Westfield and most malls around the world. They're quite impersonal if you ask me. Lots of people hanging around like zombies without seeing the real thing. If you want to go shopping for a day, or try a nice play to eat, Westfield is your perfect. I like it. They have everything you can look for. Plenty of shops, delis, restaurants and even a cinema with lots of options regarding movies. As I said, not being a fan of big malls myself, I can assure this one has everything you need, with a little bit of the East vibe (quite different from the one on Shepherd Bush). Yeah. Go shopping there but don't forget your local shops!

A massive shopping center with pretty much all the major chains present. It's not the place to go for a quick wonder around but for a heavy duty shopping free it's perfect. It gets super busy on weekends so I would avoid especially Saturday at all costs! :)

Why does the information make this one sound like the one in Shepard's bush??? This one is next to the Stratford station stop, so don't get confused!!! This is supposedly the "biggest mall" in.. EU? or was it UK? Anyways it's decently new, so big that it will take you hours to finish. There's a load of shops, but not a lot of places that I like to shop at, but I think it's a great place to go, get some free sample sized pretzels, people watch...or just waste time on a rainy day. I'd avoid on weekends, last time I went, a couple of days after it opened, we could barely get through the door, once we did it took a long time to get past the first part of the mall because there were so many people, I swear, it was like a parade, you would think it is if you looked from afar...there were crowds trying to get on the escalator!! I went back on a weekday after, and it was much more calmer, but still very busy. Oh there was also a celebrity the day i went...i don't know who he was though..maybe some british rapper :P

Nobody likes being at the mall but as malls go, this one's not so bad. Great presence of all major high street brands, even a Mulberry and White Company out on 'The Street'. Good selection of food and a great cinema. Choice of John Lewis/Waitrose or M&S, ostensibly on complete opposite sides of the mall. Parking expensive and a total nightmare during Christmas or weekends but well served by the Central line.

Right now, this place is a 10 minute walk from me and the only reason to give it an extra star. It quite literally feels like Christmas Shopping everyday. This in essence is everything I hate about Malls. As a yank, I vastly perfer the outdoor malls that is done so well here, although I did get nearly trampled on Oxford Street this week. What can I say, a mall of this size in London feels wrong to me but yeah, this is the Olympic year and with a great view of the Olympic park from John Lewis, there is no reason to complain. In addition they have Waitrose, which is the only shop locally to provide me with my Kale Fix. There is also an Olympic image gallery sponsored by Panasonic that is worth a gander. It's nearly Oxford Street indoors and if you haven't been, I think worth the visit. Just get ready to throw elbows. Wear protection if available, I wish I had my brother's old Tae Kwon Do padding for moments like these.

I love Westfield at Stratford City...and I love it a lot more than I love Westfield at Shepherd's Bush, although I'm not sure I can put my finger on why that is... I suspect that the main reason that I love Westfield Stratford City is that it feels like I've shoved aside the standard 8hour Atlantic voyage and transported myself slap bang into North America, and I like it! It's incredibly well designed - I went last night, the Monday before Christmas, when there was a million people there, and even though it was busy, it didn't give me the rage that getting through Oxford Street on any given day does. It was open until 11pm, which is freaking amazing, and freaking ridiculous at the same time! My boyfriend & I like coming on shopping dates here...we'll browse some of our favourite stores, check out new ones, look at all the delicious little food places, and then choose somewhere yummy to eat. So far we've sampled tapas and cocktails at las iguanas (fairly standard food, but a really excellent waitress), franco manca, INCREDIBLE (& cheap!) pizza which I understand had its roots in Brixton Market, pho (mmmm incredibly yummy vietnamese street food, i love making my soupy goodness so hot it causes me slight pain!), tossed for really great and interesting salad combos (& the servers t-shirts which proudly proclaim 'i'm a tosser' tickle me pink each time), oh and not forgetting the delicious pretzel samples that are ALWAYS on offer. there's also other great choices such as wahaca (mexican tapas and margaritas, which are definitely on my list to try), jamies italian, tgi friday's, nandos, yo sushi etc. i like trying somewhere different each time i eat out, to my boyfriend's utter despair as he is desperate to play '20 nugget challenge' at mcdonald's. unfortunately for him, that is never going to happen at Westfield Stratford with so many interesting options to work through! So to sum up; yes, yes, yes, I do like it here!

I have to admit that living in the area this place has grown on me... I LOVED it during the Olympics, but if that's your thing who wouldn't? Following 2012 I still found myself at this mall, but if time afforded I much preferred the Westfield in Shepherd's Bush... and truth be told, still do by a long shot. Above said, despite the madness that this mall can be it basically has everything you could need and then some so, as a mall, it easily succeeds and had I not been exposed to the Shepherd's Bush location would easily claim this as my favourite mall this side of the pond. Now that I'm in walking distance though it's very hard to justify heading off to the other location, so I find myself here a few times a week at least... whether it's to grab a pint at Tap East, peruse the Apple Store, pick-up some fresh bread at Karaway, or simply grab some groceries at Waitrose... if you need it, it's here. Cinema, Bowling, Fast Food, 24 hour Casino, a few decent restaurants, etc., they literally have it all. The thing I find, however, is that most of what they have is done better elsewhere... not that any of the shops here are bad, but each one usually reminds me of X incarnation on Y street if you know what I mean. And if you just so happen to be an Olympic fan, heading out here is a no brainer as you can wander around the still glorious Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park quite easily prior to or post shopping... it's all right there. Extra kudos to being so easy to get to from King's Cross... it may cost £6.00, but if you just so happen to be going from one to the other then the high speed train from Stratford International is definitely the way to do it despite the cost. So, all in all, I've warmed back up to the place and as much as I don't LOVE it, there's little that keeps it from being justified as a good mall... a solid 3.5, rounded to a 4 in the end. The one piece of advice that I would give is that it's best to avoid at peak times, i.e. weekends and bank holidays... it can get straight out mad at those times which makes a visit a bit more frustrating than it should be.

This place is gigantic. It's got a shop for everyone and everything (and, for me, those would be the large Waitrose and Marks & Spencer's). There's even a reasonably-priced bridal shop in the form of David's Bridal. I don't think I've ever seen a bridal shop in a mall before. Even if you can't stand shopping, there's always the outdoor area where there are ping pong tables and, for the summer, an area for kids to go zorbing. There's a big play area there's currently under construction as well, so it'll be even better for families once that's open. The thing with this place though is that it gets very crowded. If you hate crowds and/or you can't stand walking slowly, then this isn't the place for you, unless you happen to be free during off-peak hours, in which case then this probably isn't that bad. I don't come to this place often at all, except during the post-Christmas period when everything else is closed and I've just about gone insane from being cooped up in my place. That's when this place gets the most packed, so, yes, it saves my sanity, but it also tests it the most severely then too.

Shops galore!!! If you love to shop you will definitely drop. There are so many! Westfield Stratford has some great places like Bubbleogy, All stars, huge food court, cinema, train station, buses station etc... The hallways are way too small. So many people and not enough space to move around. I believe it's beacuse they've crammed so much in. I can barely last that long. It's like the scene from The Sound of Music on the hill when I leave. I will visit again eventually.

I have fun here at Stratfield. There's a lot of stuff to browse and some of my favourite stores, like David and Goliath and Lakeland (what does that say about me, eh?) There's also a great bookshop (hard to find in east London) and a Bubbleology where one can sit and people-watch. In terms of food, you can't go wrong with Indigo (and that's from an Indian chef ;) Clean and spacious - and always warm, which is what you need when London is at minus 4 degrees!! x

This Westfield is nothing like as good as the one in Shepherds Bush. Instead of feeling relaxed and comfortable like you do in the considerably less crowded West London branch, here the place is jam packed and feels very stuffy. The layout isn't as nice either and it lacks some of the more exclusive stores available at the other one. I'd give it 1 star but it maintains decent opening hours and is close to where I live, with free parking on Saturday mornings! Oh and car park C has the coolest car park entrance ever!

Very crowded. Dull shops with tacky merchandise. When this Westfield opened we were promised luxury. I think Prada lasted a year and escaped after contract was up. No more luxury. Constant queues, whining, screaming kids ( don't blame them- I felt like yelling myself) lots of gorging hordes acting as though they haven't seen food for a week. Only cakes available are cup cakes by the dozen. Sickly sweet aroma fills the air giving unwanted sugar rush. Parking facilities are plentiful. John Lewis is there but this is not exactly an endangered species. They can be found in most areas. All in all dull way to spend time and money and a huge dreary Primark.

This place is the reason why I came to London with a carry-on but left with an extra suitcase filled with my loot. The mall. Saying that word in America brings horrible images to my mind. But since it's a rarity here in London, and because I just happened to be staying at a hotel right within the complex for a few nights on a very brief business trip, I was THRILLED with having so much shopping literally just a few steps away. It was much too convenient for blowing my budget at places like Waitrose, M & S, Boots, Foyle's, etc. Since I didn't need the usual touristy crap (having lived in London previously and having no need for a commemorative egg cup with a photo of a toothy royal on it), I was looking for unusual everyday items that you really don't find much of in the USA.

A wonderful treasure in the heart of Newham. With so many variety of interactive things to do and shops to visit. Full of vibrant stores infused with a selection of cultural restaurants to tickle your taste buds and several pubs and bars to relax and drink with friends, you are seriously spoiled for choice. One of the best desicions to place such a grand place, right by the London 2012 Olympic stadium and Queen Elizabeth Park. Great shopping center - tramples Westfield City.

I stayed in Holland Park literally down the street from this Waitrose. I have no idea what possessed us, but we volunteered to make rice crispie treats for my nephews pre-school class' Valentine's day celebration. If we were in the states, this would not have been a difficult task, BUT in London, not so easy. Marshmallows are EXPENSIVE here, and different. Us silly Americans. We also decided to cook a real Vietnamese meal for my cousin. Will the Londoners reading my review, please stop laughing. Funny thing... the Waiterose at this mall provided us with better ingredients than the markets in Chinatown. And for all those that still remember Esprit... there's one here. Also an ok Mexican restaurant, which my nephew loves. A little bit of something for everyone.

I was happy to have this mall nearby but I try to avoid coming here especially during the weekends. This mall is considered to be the biggest in London but it appears to be too small for the amount of local customers that come here. I am not even describing it from how it was during the Olympics season but just during the normal shopping days. Walking leisurely does not exist here as you constantly bump into people. This place houses many high street brand stores, fast food, restaurants, groceries and more. This mall also provides clean toilet, large parking lot and access to public transport. As a shopper you can really fulfill your shopping needs and plans easily. However, you have to be sure to come or start really early (9 am) otherwise you will get a headache out of the noise and overcrowding. I can not even imagine how this place would be if the tourists find out about it. It would be just out of this world.

Not to be confused with Westfield London in White City/Shepherd's Bush in West London. And most people feel it should be called Eastfield being in East London, to differentiate them, but as Westfield is part of the Westfield chain of the Australian shopping centre group, then it will continue to cause confusion! And to cause even more confusion, it is in London and not in Stratford upon Avon, a city in Warwickshire in the centre of England, even though it is called Westfield Stratford City! It is based right next to the London Olympic Park, East Village, Stratford regional and international stations, and has opened the area of East London, and it overshadows the more low key Stratford Shopping Centre with it's traditional East London market in its mall. It runs events all year round, making it a day out, not just for shopping. Outside in The Street, there is the huge canopy where you can sit back and relax, depending on what is on offer, it can be a jazz night in the summer, or during sporting events, like Wimbledon, you can watch it live.
