Google
Surprisingly good selection of locally crafted whiskey. They had 9 varieties available and all were enjoyable as well as unique. My favorite were the single barrel selections they had, and the heavily peated was the best of the three. Staff was great, did a good job explaining the variety of options.

Google
You can get a neat flight or a cocktail flight! We got both! Enjoyed the flavors and discovering which and how we liked the whiskeys! Definitely recommend if you're new to whiskeys. We aren't, but we enjoyed sampling as if we were because it helped us pick which one we'd really enjoy!

Nate Jones

Google
The informative details explained to us about the single malt process & the different barley types was awesome! We also purchased the Distillery Exclusive Hand-Filled Whiskey, so we were allowed to pour the whiskey in the bottle ourselves, sign our names & bottle number, and sign a government registry identifying us as the purchasers of the specific bottle.

Google
Only did the tour and tasting anf it was definitely worth the money. Tour is about 45 minutes and they walk you through their small area in the back and the whiskey is amazing. A younger company but they have almost perfected their whiskeys.

Google
Took part in tour and tasting - Carter was a great tour guide and host for tasting - very knowledgeable! Great atmosphere and whiskey - definitely would visit again!

Google
Full disclosure. I dont like or drink whiskey. I did, though very much enjoy the tour. The building is beautiful in and of itself. Layout and design are on point. Staff is very knowledgeable about whiskey making, and i support companies who are working to be transparent in all things. I enjoyed the tasting as well. Sniffing them to see what could i discern was fun. My son and Gpa are whiskey lovers, and they were not disappointed. I highly recommend it. Also, the love child of Michal Fassbender and Tom Hiddleston was our tour guide. So make sure to say hello to that tall drink of water. 🥰

Google
Highly recommend the distillery tour! Super knowledgeable guide, tasty whiskey, and a fun space. While I’m not a huge fan of whiskey, there were several of their whiskeys I really enjoyed. As part of the tour, we got $10 off a purchase and definitely left with a couple of bottles.

Daydreanne Loftis

Google
We did the whiskey tour and it was awesome! Such a cool experience to see what goes into making the drinks and the background of the place and owner/founder. The tasting samples (5 different whiskeys) was just icing on the cake. Super smooth whiskey and since we did the tour and got $10 off any purchase, we bought a bottle of the Kracken to take home as a souvenir!

Yelp
I wanted to see if they still had their #3 in the country whiskey of 2023. I was in luck only a few bottles left. They have a quiet room next to the tasting bar where you can sit and reflect. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with purchases. I had a good time talking and making my purchases. Just be aware of the extra on your bill. New Year, new tax and fees.

Yelp
Local pride that this Seattle, WA company placed third in the world for their Garryana Edition 8. Kudos to Westland Distillery! I decided to purchase it directly from the source and to be picked up in person (12/16/23). It was an exceptional splurge at $183.53. I appreciated the two brochures given to me. It allowed me to learn more about their product line. I was scheduled for a 12/23/23 pickup, but given the opportunity to pick it up earlier. The response was so great, they had to suspend onsite tastings to focus on retail sales and order pickups. Thankful for the adjacent parking lot and the efficient retail line. I am glad to have completed this on 12/21/23. I will have to return someday for a distillery production tour and/or a tasting flight.

Whitney R.

Yelp
Great tasting whiskey and very good ambience. Service was good, wide assortment of Westland accessories. I took the whiskey tour and learned so much about the history, science, and one man's tribute to the Pacific Northwest. I learned about the rare Garryana wood. I will be back for sure. I love the single malt and you cannot go wrong with the Flagship bottle of whiskey.

Maria R.

Yelp
Love visiting this distillery. The tour was cool and interactive with tastes and smells. Grabbing a few cocktails or flights never disappoint either! Everyone that works there seems happy and are always fun to chat with.

Char D.

Yelp
The bartend was so insightful and gave great suggestions! I loved the cocktail flight she suggested. I tried their old fashioned, highball, Seattle spice, and the cold brew cocktails. The portions sizes were pretty generous. My fiancé got their 10 year anniversary limited whiskey- holy cow was it amazing!! If you're a whiskey lover, or even just want to try it out- I reccomended making a visit

Yelp
Westland Distillery hosts special tasting events on a regular basis. I haven't stopped by for a few years, however the attraction of a special whiskey tasting was too tempting to resist. 1) There is a City of Seattle parking lot next to the distillery. The machine was broken and wouldn't read credit cards. Not to worry! One hour street parking is available. In addition, free street parking is available on side streets in the surrounding neighborhood. 2) The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. 3) They have a very comfortable area to hang out and taste away. 4) Free Wi-Fi for guests. 5) Want to get an education in the art and science of whiskey-making? Come on by!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Great tasting whiskey and very good ambience. Service was good, wide assortment of Westland goodies to.buy.

Jeff E.

Yelp
Great whiskey but their decision to move to 700ml bottles from the US standard of 750ml is insulting as it is nothing more than a money grab. Bad enough they jacked their prices through the roof, reducing the bottle size was too much. I asked them about this, their response is that this was a trend with US bottlers and they were just following the trend. I have yet to find a single other US distiller that is reducing their bottle size. Poor form, letting the accountants run the business.

Yelp
Husband & I had a great tour and tasting. There were only 4 of us on the tour, so it was personal as well as informative. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and it's clear they're all passionate as well as very proud about their product. Highly recommend this tour and tasting.

Jesse K.

Yelp
So impressed by all of their spirits. The Garryana is award winning and really special. I also really like the solam. It feels me with pride to have a distillery in Washington putting out such great spirits. Highly recommend coming to the tasting room and buying a bottle. You get $10 off a flight which is a great deal.

Yelp
FEEL THE BURN This places is super cute and quaint. Feels like a very homey place to enjoy whiskey. All they are missing is a big ass Cracker Barrel fireplace roaring (iykyk). Colton came over and gave us the lay of the land. After discussing what I like in my pour, I went with the bartenders choice for a flight. He did very well with his selection and I felt like he listened to what I liked. I also ordered a cocktail...which was an intense idea once I started sipping . All of the whiskey I tried definitely caught me by surprise and I think I left with a couple chest hairs. My favorite was "Gerryann" (I can't really understand the writing to make sure it's spelled correctly). It had some really sweet notes and a yummy pecan smell. The pricing for flights and cocktails are beyond reasonable. I had a flight + a cocktail and only spent $26. That's a win for me. Make sure you stop in. You'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Landing in Seattle mid morning meant we needed to spend a few hours before our hotel room was ready. Fortunately the Westland Distillery is just a few minutes from the airport and great place to hang out and have some whiskey! Unlike most American Whiskey which uses Corn or Rye as their base grain, Westland uses a wide variety of malted barley in the style of Scotch to create their nectors. Located in an industrial area a few blocks south of T-Mobile Field and CenturyLink Field, Westland sits on a major road and is easy to find with lots of parking in the area. I describe it as a whiskey oasis in an unexpected place, step through the glass doors and you are greeted by a nice bar and sitting area which lets you look into their distilling and barrel room. Cocktails, flights, and small bites make it a great place to visit or meet friends. We opted for their flight which included their American Oak, Sherry Wood, Peated, and one of their special releases. All wonderful but what's even better is chatting with the staff as you sip and discuss what makes Westland so good. You can clearly hear the passion in their voices as discuss their process, the grains they use, the wood, etc. When one visits a distillery one must always look for distillery exclusives..and lucky me Westland not only has an exclusive but they let you fill, sign, and seal your own bottle. Cool factor +9! On the day I was visiting I filled my bottle (#111) from cask 2549 coming in at a full flavored cask strength of 120.2 proof. Doesn't get much better than that! Next time you are in Seattle and you have a taste for Single Malt Whiskey I would very much encourage you pay the fine folks at Westland a visit!

Linda K.

Yelp
The service was excellent! Great pours in the whiskey. We didn't get any food. It gets crowded, recommend get here when it opens for a tasting spot.

Yelp
Another Amazing Amercan Single Malt! Sweet almost honey-vanilla aroma with slight hints of smoke. Rich malt with almost a custard-caramel-vanilla flavor with dried fruit hints, and maybe a little pepper. This Single Malt has a long intense finish with notes of sweetness. Love it! That's what is going on when I sip this amazing spirit. This is my goto yearly release with American Single Malts. I get excited every year for the new release. Great job Westland! Phenomenal!

Mitzi A.

Yelp
8/30/18. Still as good as I recall it. Just tried the Sherrywood whiskey and it was caramel-y with a hint of vanilla. Yum The barrel room is where I had a 75-person sit down presentation. I am considering doing a sit down dinner / whiskey pairing for 15 next. This is a cool venue, great product, and super cool peeps!

Corina F.

Yelp
It's a cool vibe. Free (for now) Street parking available. The whiskey is flavorful and they they serve cocktails as well as flights. The food is all prepackage like a brick of beechers cheese and a pack of rosemary crackers but definitely not overpriced. They leave that to the whiskey. I enjoyed the flagship and American oak but hated the peat

Katie F.

Yelp
Had a great tasting experience here! Great options for multiple tastes, but as someone who likes pleated whiskeys, there were a lot of really delicious options. If you don't like super sweet cocktails, I wouldn't recommend the cocktail flight. However, it's nice that they have that available if you want to do a tasting with people who aren't huge whiskey fans.

Erin H.

Yelp
My friend and I were in a group of around 12 people for a whiskey tour on the weekend. We were walked around the distillery for over 1.5 hrs with a very knowledgeable tour guide before being seated at a long, family-style table with whiskey samples. They had a whole whiskey "senses" chart, where we could all try our hand at identifying the "notes" that we could taste/smell. There were quite a variety of whiskey samples, and they were ample! The only warning I have is to eat some food before you visit here because the whiskey is strong! Parking: There is a lot next to the distillery for free parking Location/Ambiance: I would describe this place as "glamorous warehouse". They have a rustic/industrial vibe going on here, which makes tasting the whiskey feel like a hip and classy experience.

T L.

Yelp
A great place to go and sample/buy some tasty whisky! Even those of us who aren't whisky drinkers can enjoy a gentler tasting of their whisky in cocktail form. The inside is warm and inviting (perfect for a grey, rainy day) and the person who poured for us was friendly and fun to chat with. They prices for the tastings are very reasonable ($10/$12 for a flight of four, your choice) and you can get also single pours and small plates to snack on. We will be returning!

Tyler S.

Yelp
This is a Seattle gem! The store is beautiful and clean. You walk in and can see the barrels aging. They offer a really good tasting flight for a reasonable price. The staff is very knowable and friendly. If you are there ask for Pat. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about whiskey. I could not say enough good things about him.

David B.

Yelp
This is not a place to get loaded, so be warned. It is a great place for some quality snacks and a delicious taste of whisky. The room in inviting and the staff is helpful. We did end up buying a few bottles because the presentation was nice.

Avery H.

Yelp
Love going here every time I visit Seattle. Super friendly staff, cool open barrel room, and the two offered flights are killer (and a steal price wise!). A few small cocktail offerings, too, and the chance to buy some really nice drams in house.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Westland Distillery is a single malt whiskey distillery located in the SoDo (South of Downtown) neighborhood of Seattle's Industrial District. Our group stopped by this distillery to take a tour and participate in a whiskey tasting. It was arranged by our tour operator, Seattle Wine Tours. Westland Distillery offers tours four times a day, Wednesday through Saturday. We went on a Friday afternoon tour at 2pm. The tour and tasting lasted over an hour. This looks to be a relatively young distillery. I can't recall if the tour guide told us when Westland was founded, but I believe the owner(s) are young (in their 20s). The business' lobby and tasting room look industrial, yet stylish and modern, like they've been lifted from the pages of a magazine. The distillery itself feels small (though I don't have much to compare it to) at 13,000 square feet. Tours of the distillery take place while staff is on the floor working, so you really get an up-close and personal view of the production facility in action. The first thing that hit our group upon entering the facility was the smell. One of the guys on our tour had to sit out of the Westland stop because the smell was too much for him to bear. He waited outside over an hour. I'm not sure if the distillery is supposed to smell like that or if they were having ventilation problems. The aroma coming from the factory was heavy and thick. We were told it was extremely dangerous to light a match inside due to the flammability and possibility of explosion -- I wonder if it had to do with the gas/fumes we were smelling. I forget the name of our tour guide, but he seemed to be in his 20s and sported short hair, a beard, and glasses. I'm not sure that description helps much because I saw multiple male employees sporting beards. He seemed very enthusiastic about his job, whiskey, and Westland Distillery. He told us more than we ever wanted to know and encouraged questions and engagement. The tour did seem a bit longwinded and I know our Seattle Wine Tours was having a challenging time trying to keep us on schedule. I know next to nothing about whiskey so I found the tour to be educating, though I must admit I zoned out on several occasions especially when our guide got overly scientific. I wasn't interested in hearing chemistry lessons. In total, our Westland tour group consisted of about 15 folks. We started off in the cask room and worked our way to the mash processing area, fermentation vessels, and stills. Between the cask room and the malt area, we got to taste five different kinds of malted barley grains. I thought it was neat how those grains combined with water in the mashing process to eventually become whiskey. We got to look inside one of the active mash tuns with the mash rake still spinning. I thought that was cool. Our guide told us that Westland plans to make a whiskey in which every ingredient including the wood the cask is made from originates from the state of Washington. I think it would become the first ever whiskey 100% sourced and produced in the state. The final stop on our tour was the still room where the wash still (7,560 liters) and the spirit still (5,670 liters) were located. Our guide compared the apparatuses to the worlds of Jules Verne and steampunk and he wasn't wrong. The temperature inside the still room was uncomfortably hot. Several of us had to step off the elevated platform before the guide was done talking. After our tour concluded, we took seats at a long communal table in the tasting area. Our guide poured us samples from various bottles of Westland whiskies. There was a glass jar with peat on the table so we could see and smell firsthand the peat that goes into their peated malt whiskey. In addition to buying bottles of whiskey at the store, we had the option to hand-fill our own bottles of whiskey which were then corked, numbered, and labeled individually. You can only do this at the distillery. In the end, I thought the folks were nice and I enjoyed my visit.

Pragnesh P.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this Westland Distillery twice in a year because we were early for events in the neighborhood. Beautiful designs interior unlike a typical distillery. Spacious, open, welcoming and amazingly clean distillery. We ended up experiencing their seasonal and signature flights. Smooth, peaty as they say it, robust and flavorful flight.

Ryan L.

Yelp
This is one of the best distillery tours I've been on. This is for serious whisky drinkers and those interested in good whisky. The tour is very informative and comprehensive. You get a great history of whisky and an explanation of how it is made. The tasting is about three of the main whiskies plus a possible fourth single cask tasting if you're nice. The establishment is gorgeous. Everyone working is very nice and helpful. I highly recommend stopping if in Seattle.

Justin L.

Yelp
I originally wanted to organize a private tasting experience with some customers / prospects / business associates at Westland Distillery. With Covid-19 Shelter-in-place restrictions, we were able to coordinate a virtual event. Huge props to the Westland Distillery team for coming through. The team of Jenna, Chris and Phoebe are phenomenal and I cannot recommend them or the whiskey highly enough.

Monica C.

Yelp
If you like Islay Single Malt, then Westland Distillery will knock your socks off. I first visited when they opened a few years ago and purchased from the special pour caskets. The price has since increased but makes a nice gift if you are looking for something special for a scotch loving friend. Now, my friends and I make an afternoon of visiting Westland and order appetizers while sampling the scotches.

Katie H.

Yelp
Most importantly- this place has great whiskey. The Sherrywood is totally my jam! It's just kind of a bonus that everything else here kind a rocked, too! My friends and I had been fans of Westland for a while, but we hadn't done the tour. The tour was a perfect balancing of sight, narrative, and drinking! As Westland has some limited edition batches that happen, we come back regularly, and each time, we've had great service. Kudos to Westland Distillery!

Yelp
After having spent Thanksgiving weekend with the in-laws up in Port Angeles/Sequim, I needed a stiff drink... Ok, not really (Thanksgiving was great, and the Seahawks beat the Steelers, so all was good). But, we knew we were going to have time to kill before our flight back home, so what to do that was new and different for us in Seattle? As it happens, we are on quite the whiskey kick lately, so hubby perused Yelp Seattle and found Westland Distillery that dealt in JUST whiskey. Plenty of other distilleries (who knew SEA had so many distilleries?), but many had gin and vodka, which was not up our alley. Anyway, hubby zero'd in on Weslland, which we found quite easily. Street parking was a breeze, but then again we were there on a Tuesday at 4pm. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted by all the staff there. We didn't ask for a tour, knowing we hadn't booked one, but we did get walked around back where the huge distilling machines and barrel room was located and got to walk through with the accompanying history being relayed to us by Jim. Cool! Then we sat down at the tasting bar and settled in for our whiskey tastings, four in all, and all excellent. First was their award-winning single malt, which we just saw was rated as one of the best whiskeys this year in Wine Spectator. Smooth and delicious. Second was a take on the first whiskey, but these were held and aged longer by the brewers. Hubby loved it, as did I, but I had to add a little water to it to smoothe it out for my palette. Still, great stuff. Third was both our fave...the sherrywood. Damn, that stuff was GOOD! So smoothe and flavorful. Yum! Last but not least was the peated whiskey. Now, apparently, this is a "love it or hate it" whiskey, due to the unique flavor and aroma you get from using the peating process. We got to smell the peated malt, and it seriously smelled like a campfire. Then, when you get that whiskey in your glass, you can smell the smokiness, which follows right through being able to taste the smokey whiskey. Now, I don't really like smoked turkey or smoked ham, so I thought I wouldn't like it. But, one sip and I was hooked. Great stuff! Sadly, since we were heading to the airport and couldn't pack and whiskey, we had to leave without buying a bottle or two. And, being down in CA, we can't have Westland ship to us. However, we did find the single malt (first one we tasted) and the peated whiskey here in SacTown at Total Wine & More. We were told, however, by our awesome whiskey wizard Jim, that there are distributors in the Bay Area who would also have the sherrywood whiskey, which is really what we want. So I see a trip to the Bay Area (K&L?) in our future. Oh, and next year, when we head up to WA for the in-law's trip, we will stop at Westland Distillery FIRST and pick up our bottle of single malt, which will no doubt help to make the season bright :)

Jesse S.

Yelp
If you are in the SeaTec area and want to get some amazing whiskey, com on down to the Westland Distillery. It's about 40 minutes by light rail (including about a 10 minute walk), or 20 minute car ride from the SeaTec Airport. The whiskey flight is simply delicious. The tasting room is beautiful furnished with comfortable brown leather couches and quite a bit of tall tables and a couple of shorter tabletops. Seated in the couch you can view the beautiful wooden features as well as the barrel room. This stop was one of the highlights of the trip. I highly recommend this place to anyone reading these comments.

Jen B.

Yelp
This review is for the tour of the distillery. I came here as part of a birthday celebration and partook in the tour from start to finish. Upon arrival, you're offered a sample to savor while everyone arrives for the tour. If you parked on the street, there is parking in the adjacent lot. Its free of charge, so come early and nab one of those spots while you can! Feel free to hang your coat on the coat rack. This place is pretty classy. The tour itself is a journey through history, science, and one man's tribute to the Pacific Northwest. Its no secret why people get married here, as the venue is spotless and strings of lights sparkle over stacks of barrels. Its very clear the people who work here are passionate and want to share their love of great whiskey with you. The sampling is also something to look forward to at the end of the tour. I don't drink, but I learned quite a bit from smelling and the discussion that followed each tasting. I would recommend bringing a designated driver or using a ride share service, as the pours are generous. Feel free to lounge before or after your tour in the Canterbury Room. Also, the tours are just $10, but you recuperate the cost if you buy bottle at the end of your tour. Or, just by trying everything they offer you. You leave with a free tour, a flight of whiskey, and a coupon for 10 dollars off a bottle. Triple win. Overall, I would recommend this tour if you or someone you know loves whiskey. Cheers to that!

Yelp
I was in for a little while tonight with some friends for their 2nd Annual Winter Night Market, and I have to say, Westland Distillery is an insanely cool place. They've got a friendly and knowledgeable staff who were really helpful with my friends and I, who are relative whiskey novices. As far as the space, they've got two bars they serve from, tons of open space both in their front room and in their barrel room, and their front room uses barrels as tables for people to stand and chat around. I left wanting to take one home for my apartment (which would be a ridiculous idea for my tiny studio). The event that we attended tonight hosted a bunch of local companies that featured clothing, jewelry, hair products, pottery, high quality posters, and more. As far as whiskey goes, you had the opportunity to pay $10 for 4 tickets, which got you 4 drinks. Pretty sweet deal, right? The drinks were on the small side, but that was just fine with me. Every purchase you made, whether from one of the companies taking part in the market or directly from Westland, got you a free $10 coupon to use at Westland Distillery. There were also cookies(!!!) available to snack on, which kept me tied up for significant portions of the night. While I did not buy anything tonight besides the tickets for whiskey, I'm definitely going to be looking online at some of the companies that were there this evening.

Jordan R.

Yelp
This place was a lot of fun! I went with my husband, and we were wanting a tour although sadly we did not know that you had to book appointments online. We were able to walk around and see the place, which was beautiful and it was really interesting seeing everything there. The whiskey was really good, we are definitely going back! The only reason why it didn't receive a higher rating was we went at a slower time and there wasn't much interaction with the employees. Will being going back though!

Amanda L.

Yelp
We came to town from the Bay Area to purchase a new car and wanted desperately to make it to buy Lucky Envelope and Peat Week (only sold at their location). We made it to the door at 5:59 when they were due to close at 6pm. She was SO nice and opened the door they had just locked when they saw me trying to open the door. She immediately let me in and helped me out. We were even able to buy a gift for a friend. Everyone has had one of these situations and it just makes your day and proves how kind people can be when they help out without even a question or grumble. Their whiskey is phenomenal and clearly their team of people are too.

John C.

Yelp
I must say, this is the best place anywhere around for American whiskey. I am absolutely in love with everything that this distillery does, produces, and makes. First off, if you can visit the distillery and take the tour, Do it! Every employee here is passionate about their product and their name. The tour will be extremely informative and you will learn a lot about Westland distillery, the owners and the employees, and a lot about whiskey making in general. You might also run into a few of the owners and employees dogs. At the end of the tour you are welcome to sample some of the whiskey and even bottle your own 250ml bottle straight from a small cask of whiskey. There are tons of products to buy from T-shirts to leather bags and jackets two tasting glasses. The other nice thing about visiting the distillery is that you can buy one-off bottles that are not available at stores. The location of Westland is in a perfect area, it is not technically downtown not too far away. The other nice thing is that there are a couple of breweries nearby and of course Georgetown is a stones throw away. The building itself is a massive warehouse that was built to make the massive wheels that the retractable roof of Safeco Field rides upon. Once the wheels were built the warehouse had no purpose and was shuttered until purchased by Westland. This gives the distillery a very distinct feel and Westland goes out of its way to expose that warehouse type feel. They offer a lot of exposed steel trusses and I-beams, they utilize a lot of wood in the design and architecture, and they take great pride in the aesthetic feel of the place. It is a very comforting and beautiful place to be in. In fact, the large area lends itself to have lots of events and is a gorgeous area for holding a wedding or a wedding reception. (with that last comment in mind be sure to check the website or call ahead and make sure that the distillery is open on the day you want to go because they do sometimes close it for events) I have purchased so many Westland whiskeys since learning of them. Their core range consists of a standard American un-age-stated whiskey, a sherried un-age-stated whiskey, and a peated un-age-stated whiskey. All three of which are very good and offer a very good introduction to their whiskey. If you want to go a little more deeper in their lineup, it is great that they offer so many unique bottlings to purchase at local stores and of course in the distillery itself. They hold annual peat-weeks where they offer highly peated whiskey which is absolutely delicious. They offer single cask bottlings which once they're gone, they're gone! And they do a lot of partnering with local distilleries as well which is great to hear. I could go on and on about this distillery and their whiskey I truly could. Do yourself a favor and try some of their products, visit their distillery, take the tour, and tell everyone about it. Westland distillery is truly a labor of love and it shows. Everyone involved has a massive amount of pride in their product. It is American single malt whiskey, and it matches up head-to-head to a lot of great Scotches in the world, and it's ours! It's American!

Yelp
What a great event! I had the opportunity to sample their spirits and mixed drinks with several friends while listening to carols.

Yelp
Amazing space, very good whiskey. You can tell the passion everyone has for their product, they answer as many questions as you can ask. The flavor wheel at the bar is very informative for identifying the numerous flavors you are tasting. Will be coming back for sure!!

Yelp
We took a tour of the distillery, and I can say without a doubt, it was the most informative, interesting tour I've ever experienced! Our host Rachel was supremely knowledgable and personable. We learned so much about the distilling process, really fascinating! Highly recommended and let's not forget, these guys make some really great whiskey! We were able to taste many different types of whiskey, and even different barley malts. It was an amazing experience!

Yelp
I had pretty much given up on whiskey as a whole. Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select or Dry Fly was my drink when I felt like whiskey, but I had usually drank scotch, however as the prices continue to rise I made the switch to keeping more bourbon in my cabinet. Then a friend told me about a new place opening in Seattle and I attended their grand opening. The first thing I noticed that this was not like any other whiskey that I have had in the past. I have tried a bunch of local stuff and they were very good, but still not good enough for me to switch from bourbon especially when you can get great bourbon for under $30. Westland's whiskey is smooth; it truly is more like bourbon than a whiskey. I just recently bought a bottle of the Sherry Wood and I would say it is better than a Macallan 12 year scotch, but not the 18 year, which I still judge all Speyside scotch against, but you are also dumping well over a $100 dollars. The price is about $60 a bottle, which you might think is steep for a whiskey, but I am telling you buy a bottle and just don't share it because it is worth it. The true judge of their whiskey for me was last month at my wedding. I bought a bottle and by the end of the night just about everyone came up to me asking where I bought this. Sorry east coast friends, well at least for now! The distillery is state of the art and very nice inside. Be warned, you will not walk out without a bottle of this incredible goodness. They have definitely spent a few dollars on this place and you can taste it in the bottle. If you don't visit the distillery you can find their product at places that have a good selection of spirits, I know Local 360 always has a few bottles of their stuff. Anyhow as a few other reviewers have said, if you like scotch or good bourbon then definitely try them out, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This review is for Westland Distillery as a whole, but mainly as a wedding venue. We got married at Westland in March 2016, and we knew from our first interaction with Phoebe that we were in good hands. Little did we know that they would go above and beyond to make our special day incredibly seamless, out-of-this-world, and just flat out perfect. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, so we didn't feel the need to add much decor. Simple touches like greenery, LED candles, and balloons only added to the splendor of this already gorgeous place. Looking back on our wedding, we feel such a deep sense of warmth - not only from the company of our friends and family and the love they poured out to us, but from this remarkable place we were so fortunate to express our love to each other. Thank you for everything. It would be impossible to forget what you helped us create that day, and we will always think back with full hearts. xx Jodi & Jonny

Yelp
Two friends and I did a tour with Matt. We had an amazing time. It will be a fixture of any trip to Seattle from now on. In terms of their whiskey, it is absurdly good. If you haven't tried it, even if you think you don't like whiskey, take sip. You are bound to be impressed.

Yelp
I've come here a couple times as I love learning about whiskey. I'm so impressed by the tour guides knowledge of every aspect of what this place does! I have drank a lot of types of whiskey in my time, but I have to say these guys are my favorite and do it right! Very impressed guys, keep it up!!

Yelp
Good god, this place rules. It's not just about whether you're into spirits or you're trying to learn more about whisky or local spirits. I mean, they've got all of that covered, but it's the customer service and the atmosphere that's winning so hard here. You can visit tasting rooms, you can be loyal to local, but here you get the whole shebang. I came with a friend a few weeks back and we spent a ton of time here enjoying every little bit of the experience here. We shared a tasting (as per the solid recommendation of the staff) and enjoyed everything a great deal. See, you can get your own tasting but depending on how much you want to try, it can end up being quite a lot to drink in a short(ish) period of time. Especially because we'd mentioned going to a nearby event and drinking more later. So thanks to the advice we received, we split a tasting and ended up consuming a few oz each. Enough for a couple drinks. Had we gotten our own tastings, we'd have been blitzed after going to the party later and drinking more. So be advised that you don't need much here to enjoy yourself! They also provide water, so that's good. In the tasting room you can walk around and see various artifacts, check out displays, and take a seat in a soft seating area (a couple big chairs/sofas) or sit at this big industrial communal table. We opted to be sociable and sit at the big table. Over the course of an hour or so -we weren't rushed at all- we tried 4 different products. Everything was outstanding and the presentation was great as well. The explanation of everything was useful and even though the tasting room happened to be slammed, staff still made time to interact authentically with each group of guests. Certainly one of the better distillery tours I've been to in Seattle.

Yelp
We were at Seapine having a couple of beers and one of the guys working suggested we try this place. Glad we did! My husband and I are not big whiskey drinkers so we wouldn't have normally come to a whiskey distillery. We chose to do the whiskey flight so we could get a sample of what they have to offer. The staff was EXCELLENT. So passionate about what they do and so informative. They really made the experience a great one for us. We ended up buying the Sherry wood and the little bottle that you can hand fill yourself which was a cool thing for my husband and I. We would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
We chose Westland for our wedding reception this last May (2016) and it was a beautiful and, most importantly for us, a really fun venue for our big party.  All of our friends and family were impressed with the space and surprised at our choice, it's not all couples who pick a whiskey distillery for their wedding day, but everyone was very vocal about how lovely it was after coming to the reception.  We sort of stumbled upon it by accident when we were in south Seattle looking at several other venues.  You wouldn't necessarily notice it just driving by and think of it for a party space, but trust us, it's a great one. Phoebe and the staff were always very helpful during the planning process, so a big warm thank you to everyone!  We ended up having ~150 guests for a dance/cocktail party type reception, no seated dinner.  The space was the perfect size, festively full but not crowded.  And we didn't need to worry about much decorating because Westland is already such an attractive space!  We couldn't have been more pleased with Westland as our venue and definitely recommend it if anyone is looking for a great party space, especially if you just happen to be a whiskey lover too! Whiskey Review: 5 Stars, great whiskey. If you came here for a whiskey review, do yourself a favor and go try it out. They make EXCELLENT whiskey.

Yelp
Westland is incredible. One of my favorite single malt distilleries out there! I always make a point to grab a flight of cocktails when I'm in town. Grab a bottle of their limited launch Pete week if you have a chance! You won't be disappointed

Yelp
Great whiskey but terrible management! Checked the website and it showed they'd be open until 7:00. Made plans with coworkers to converge on the Distillery only to get there and discover that they were closed for a private event. Couldn't they have just put that on the website?

Yelp
Great whisky, great staff, good food, great distillery tour, awesome atmosphere.

Yelp
Gorgeous space, incredible product, and passionate staffers to lead you on your whiskey journey. We stopped in, hoping to do the tour, but our timing was off. No matter! Drew welcomed us into the cozy tasting room and led us through a complimentary tasting of five varieties, all of which were delicious and chest-warming. My fave was the Sherry Wood because it smells like maple syrup. Breakfast booze! Drew then walked us through the back for a quick peek of where the magic happens (also where adorable, friendly dogs roam!). We purchased and hand-filled a bottle to take home - Bottle #380 of Cask #272 and proud! Looking forward to visiting again with friends soon.
