Two weeks ago, my silly, radiant, endlessly loved Stunning Phaser was quietly fighting for her life—and I didn’t even know it. One moment she was snuggling with her big sister Calypso, the next, she was in emergency surgery for a life-threatening infection called pyometra.
There was no fever. Just a subtle change: she wouldn’t eat unless it was “something special.”
Pyometra often strikes without warning, and it moves fast. We were incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Ana Adams of Westside Village Animal Hospital, who responded immediately—sharing her personal cell phone number and acting without hesitation. Thanks to her skill and compassion, Phaser survived.
You’d never guess this goofy girl just beat a deadly infection. But she did.
If you love your girl like we love ours, please consider a preventative spay if she’s no longer being bred. It could save her life—before you even know she’s in danger.
