The 16 Best Restaurants in Laval, Quebec | Eater Montreal

"A5 Hospitality, Groupe Midway, and Groupe Harden runthis California-influenced restaurant in Place Bell. Designed by Zebulon Perrón, Westwood is one of the sleekest spots north of the Prairies River — think potted plants, wood, and leopard print on banquettes that curve throughout the space. Executive Chef Carlos Gomes Garcia’s Asian-French menu includes a variety of tartares, ceviches and carpaccios followed by salads, grilled fish and meat items, plus vegetable-focused sides. There’s indoor valet parking, which is equally important for many in this traffic-crunched area of Laval." - Erinn Blicher

Food Writers Name Montreal’s Biggest Dining Surprises of 2019 | Eater Montreal

"Also surprising to critics for being located in Laval, Westwood was mentioned as another notable and unexpected restaurant opening in that suburb." - Tim Forster

La Croqueteria Starts Serving Spanish Croquettes in Mile End | Eater Montreal

"At Place Bell in Laval I encountered Westwood, a collaboration involving A5 Hospitality and chef Antonio Park; the fairly flashy space serves a mix of grilled options and raw items (including sashimi and tartares) with clear Japanese and southeast Asian influences." - Tim Forster

Restaurant, Bar and Grill Westwood to Open at Laval’s Place Bell | Eater Montreal

"Opening in Laval later this month, I understand Westwood will be located adjacent to the Place Bell hockey arena and concert venue. Its food offerings will center around a grill showcasing meat and seafood, with some east Asian influence (Japanese is most likely given Park’s focus at his Westmount restaurant) and raw options; a sizable bar program is expected, with the venue functioning as both restaurant and bar. The project will be led by chefs Renaud Letellier (stepping over from Bouillon Bilk) and Pinou Thong (from Park), with A5’s Josianne Beaulieu acting as general manager. Prominent designer Zebulon Perron is creating a restrained, minimalist space to fit the glassy cube building that will house the restaurant. Park previously invested in Kampai Garden and Jatoba but has generally played a hands-off role. Expect it to open in mid to late September." - Tim Forster

We were able to get a reservation last minute which we appreciated since most of the restaurants in the area were closed. The food was spectacular, we loved everything about it. There was only one waitress attending all the tables and her stress and pressure passed over to us when ordering the food. Also, I didn’t like that she pointed out the tip at the end. Besides that, I totally recommend this place There was a live dj with the best playlist, that also made our experience 100 times better.

I visited this restaurant over the weekend. Since it was a busy time, the place was quite crowded, which made the service slower than expected. However, the food was great, and the atmosphere was really nice. If you don’t mind waiting a bit, it’s a good spot to enjoy a meal. The steak was really good

I recently visited Westwood Bar & Grill, Laval and while the ambiance was impressive, the overall experience left me conflicted. The decor is stylish and modern, with a warm, welcoming vibe that’s perfect for a night out. The music was fantastic, providing a great soundtrack for the evening without being overwhelming—definitely a highlight of the visit. However, when it comes to the food, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. For the high prices, I was hoping for a more memorable dining experience, but the dishes were just okay. Nothing particularly bad, but nothing outstanding either. I always enjoy a starter of calamar but these although small and tender were so so greasy ! My husband had a 12oz streak which was chewy and hard to enjoy, the side order of mushroom was nothing special but my grill salmon was a good choice ! In short, it’s a great place to enjoy a drink or a date night with an amazing atmosphere and music, but if you’re expecting the food to match the price tag, you might be a little disappointed.

Google
10/10 experience. I went in with zero expectations, it seemed like another one of those trendy restaurants. But I was pleasantly surprised, food was amazing, ambiance was great and music was not too loud we were able to hear each other. We sat at the bar and our server/bartender was amazing, gave us a truly great service!

The place and Ambiance were beautiful! The music was great too The waitress was friendly and polite and the food looked beautiful... but didn't taste that great for what it costs at all.. the seafood Mac and cheese wasn't creamy, and lacked the most important... the seafood... the steak wasn't very tender the peppercorn gravy tasted like chemicals.. you had to order sides separately... fries were 8.00 and they weren't that great. The calamari was good but too salty and you leave with a ginormous bill.. not to mention before you are finished eating they are ripping the plates off the table... not impressed at all.

I forgot to take a pic of the food, but it wasn’t too bad. I did like the mac and cheese with seafood, it was quite tasty but the rest like fried calamari was meh. Was it worth that price, def not.. too expensive! I did like the ambiance, the dj had some good throw back tracks, and getting the groove / mood going. I wouldn’t go back there to eat, and wouldn’t really recommend either to be honest. There’s a lot of better places, less expensive and food tastes better. Waitress was nice, polite but it took a while to get our stuff, either drinks or food.
