We went here for an early dinner. It was great, excellent food and service. My friend and I got French onion soup. Our other friend had the salmon. Our soup had excellent flavor with lots of delicious melted cheese. Out friend said the salmon was the best she's ever had. For dessert, we shared a pavlova. It was fluffy and light, with a lot of fruit and delicious mango puree.

The 32oz. porterhouse steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and the chef carved it up nicely for two to share. The mashed potatoes, asparagus and fried onions were delicious and the cannoli was very fresh and crunchy. The service was fantastic. Our service staff was very friendly and professional.

Great steakhouse. The service was top notch. They made sure to keep everyone with a drink. I drink a lot of water so I love not having to wait for a refill. They make sure to show you the cuts of steak they offer and go over the differences. They were very helpful when anyone in the group had questions. I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and spinach. I thought both the sides could use a bit more flavor, but still great and a little salt and pepper definitely helped. They offered 3 salts, regular coarse, spicy sriracha and smoked, along with freshly ground pepper. I had the margarita cocktail. Very delicious and strong, but not too strong. For dessert, our side of the table shared creme brulee and Pavlova. Both firsts for me, and both wonderful. The staff worked well together to serve our large group in a timely manner. I did not try it, but another in the group said the lobster was delicious.

Sweet baby Jesus the ribeye was the best steak we’ve ever had, hands down! Their crab ravioli was so creamy with the best asparagus. If I could give 100 stars I would. Found this gem of a restaurant while searching for places to eat when visiting Monterey. Thank God for technology! My husband and I will definitely be back! Paul was attentive and is responsible for the recommendation on the ribeye. Every staff member was friendly, from the gentleman that seated us to the waiters that offered pepper for our meal. You won’t find a better steakhouse in California.

From the hostess who welcomes you to when you arrive the waiter who suggested me and explained the menu outstandingly. The manager cane a few times making sure I was enjoying the steak (and I surely did) and considering that the restaurant was full I truly appreciated his professionalism. I ordered a porterhouse and it was exceptional! Then a dessert to die for. Wonderful I will surely come back next year during car week.

You receive service before experiencing the food and this place provided amazing customer service. The food was equally excellent. The bread itself was the best table bread I’ve ever had… crispy crust and the softest white bread. We ordered the oysters, Caesar salad, filet mignon and lobster fettuccine Alfredo, deliciousness! The atmosphere fine. The decor is a bit dated. Lovely place to have a nice dinner.

The Whaling Station is truly the premier steakhouse in Monterey, serving guests with excellence since 1969. My husband and I enjoyed a superb dining experience from start to finish. We began with their fabulous French onion soup with a perfect brother and lots of cheese on top, followed by the incredible Cowboy Ribeye Steak—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The sides were equally impressive: fresh thick asparagus with hollandaise sauce, a perfectly prepared twice-baked potato, and to finish, the most heavenly Pavlova dessert from New Zealand with soft meringue, whipped cream, and fresh fruit. A delicious glass of red wine paired beautifully with the meal, and an Irish Coffee was the perfect finale. Our server, Jose, was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, adding to the warm atmosphere. We enjoyed the comfort of a half-booth and admired the lovely décor and artwork, including a lovely mural. The restaurant easily accommodates groups and provides a refined yet welcoming setting. The Whaling Station also holds a special place in my heart—it was the very first restaurant my husband and I dined at when visiting Monterey back in 1988 for a Paramount Pictures sales meeting. After moving here in 1990, we’ve enjoyed many wonderful meals over the years, and the quality has always remained top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an outstanding dining experience with high quality food, impeccable service, and the very best steaks in Monterey.

Take a trip back to memory lane for the old school dining experience at the Whaling Station. Waiters dressed in bow ties and slacks, hand shaken martinis with a classic French onion soup. The Whaling Station is by far the best steak on the Monterey Peninsula, but 100% the price reflects it too! Upon being seated your waiter will bring a cutting board full of the various cuts of steak being offered that night. All steaks are premium and you can add a lobster tail on any as a side. If you're looking for a nice wine to complement your steak, ask your waiter for ideas. We have been surprised both times with the excellent suggestion from Jun. 100% there is the early quiet dinner crowd or the later evening crowd. Oh and they offer a happy hour at the bar!

Took my wife here recently for our anniversary / wedding vows renewal. We wanted to have a nice, sit-down dinner at a good steak place. We certainly made a good decision coming here, all the fanfare this place has is well deserved. We had fillet mignon and it was GLORIOUS. Ordered our kids from the kids menu, also quite good. The waiters bring a gold baking sheet out & show you the steaks they have available that day. When you order steak, they usually always bring out a few different exotic salts, to try with your meat. We for smoked salt, spicy salt and I believe a truffle salt - which was a great addition to a ready good meal. Pricing wasn't too outrageous, but keep in mind, it's a VERY high quality steak restaurant; so it's easily about $75-100 per adult having dinner there... and VERY much worth it.

My husband chose this restaurant to have a nice steak dinner and it did not disappoint. He was choosing between here and The Sardine Factory (both have amazing reviews) and we were all very pleased with our dinner and service. Steak was amazing, Mahi Mahi was good, kids meals were very large! And dessert was made in house and delicious- highly recommend the filet mignon and the key lime pie! Filet Mignon 10/10 *came with three different salts to dip for flavor and was amazing! Smoked salt/ Sirachi Salt / Sea Salt was a very good flavor Mahi Mahi 8/10 *could have been more moist but was still very delicious Kids Alfredo 10/10 *the flavor was and chicken flavorful and tender Kids Chicken Breast 10/10 Key lime Pie 10/10 Favorite! Must try! Crème Brûlée 10/10 but the key lime was even better

We ordered: - fried calamari(good) - grilled oyster & oysters rockefeller(avoid, not good. this was the only things we don't like from everything that we ordered.) - clam chowder(good) - french onion soup(good) - kids pasta with shrimp(very good) - ribeye steak usda(very good, the steak has good rubs) - ribeye steak wagyu(very good, fatty) - prime ribs 16oz(perfectly cooked!) - roasted caramel corn(the best side dishes!) - sauted mushroom(good) - truffled parmesan fries(good) We didn't realized that the steak already came with side dishes, so we ordered more side dishes and ended up with plenty of foods. However the foods are all very good and worth the cost. They also have free valet parking.

The service was impeccable ! Old time vibes, very friendly and attentive staff ! Bartenders who can make a great drink ! Unfortunately the food did not meet the expectations for the price ! Lobster was mushy, steak was not very tender for an $84 plate, twice baked potato was terrible ! Clam chowder was ok.

I'm NOT one for big birthday celebrations....a nice dinner with a special group of friends and family is enough for me, I like to keep it simple. I wanted a nice steak dinner for my birthday, so I looked up Whaling Station Steakhouse on yelp and it was a HIGHLY rated establishment it DID NOT disappoint. Coming off a cold so my appetite wasn't as strong, I made it count though, I ordered the New York Steak with broccoli and asparagus (I devoured it all) I made sure to get my protein and vegetable intake. Made reservations a day before and when we arrived , BAAAAM... seated immediately! Even though we were a few minutes late due to traffic, the restaurant was extremely busy on a Thursday evening. After we were seated our server took our orders and got to business right away. I took in all of the electric energy surrounding us...the traditional dark wood decor that you typically will see at a steakhouse, charismatic employees. While we were waiting for our food the person next to us I believe was a food critic and I have never seen one while dining so that was a new experience for me. Overall in conclusion; lemme say this place was really good! NOT the best steakhouse, but definitely worth a try! Great, classy place great vibes going on here - thank you for the hospitality!

This was a new place for us so we thought we'd give it a shot and we were happy we did the service was to die for they took care of all our needs and the food was delicious. We got there early so we pretty much had the space to ourselves, and the waiter was right on queue.

Amazing place to stop for dinner! Our server, Dan was incredible. Very attentive, explained the menu options, and even highlighted some of the favorites. Made sure we had everything we needed. The food was to die for, hands down one of the best steaks I've ever had. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and SO tender. The garlic fries are to die for! I will absolutely be back next time I'm in the area!

Outstanding service, which is difficult to find in this day and age. Food was amazing. Nice ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for a date night!

Came in for dinner during last week's Pro Am event at Pebble Beach. Location is situation a block up from Canary Row which gives the ambiance a little something special. Service was friendly and prompt and bringing out the cuts of meat for the table to look at and choose is a nice touch! I ordered the surf and turf which was a NY Strip steak and added a lobster tail. The steak was good, but the lobster tail stole the show... this thing was amazing... perfectly cooked and with the drawn butter was amazing! The only downside was our table was right outside the restroom which wasn't that pleasant. Overall good location and food, although there aren't that many choices of steakhouses in Monterey.

The perfect mix of a classic coastal restaurant with the coziness of its vintage charm. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and kind by detailing the variety of steaks and wines. We tried a variety of appetizers for the table which were devoured quickly. The lobster plate was delicious and a generous portion paired nicely with mashed potatoes and spinach. The creme brûlée was the perfect finishing touch! I feel there is no wrong answer on this menu!

We came to The Whaling Station for dinner and had a pretty mixed experience. There were definitely some highlights, but overall, it didn't quite live up to expectations--especially for a place that gives off fine dining vibes. To start, I had the clam chowder and crispy cauliflower. The chowder had a nice flavor, but it was super thick--almost to the point of being more stew than soup. The crispy cauliflower was breaded and flavorful, definitely one of the better starters. For my main, I went with the hanger steak special. It was cooked really nicely with a great sear and came with a herby chimichurri sauce that worked well. The shrimp scampi was bright, citrusy, and full of flavor, and the parmesan fries it came with were honestly the best bite of the night. I also had a side of sautéed mushrooms which were great. Unfortunately, my wife didn't have the same luck. She ordered the sirloin medium, but it came out rare. We flagged down the server, who said they'd take care of it, but it took over 25 minutes to get the corrected steak. By the time it came out, everyone else was done eating, which kind of ruined the experience for her. For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée. It had a perfect sugar crust and rich, creamy custard. Only complaint was the strawberry garnish was just awkwardly half-sliced, so the only real way to eat it was by picking it up. Service overall was pretty rough. Plates were cleared from only one side of the table, water was refilled for only some of us, and one of the glasses on our table was dirty when we sat down. When our mains came out, we still had empty appetizer plates sitting in front of us from 10 minutes prior, so we had to shuffle things around to make room. The atmosphere was also louder than expected--there were kids at a nearby table loudly banging silverware, and the noise level in general made it hard to have a casual conversation. Honestly, the vibe felt more like an Applebee's than a fine dining spot. Overall, the food had some good moments, but the service and atmosphere really missed the mark. With so many great options nearby, I doubt we'll be back.

I dropped by on a Friday night without a reservation and I was able to sit at the bar just inside the restaurant. They offer a full menu and a bar menu for dining at the bar. Which can be great when you don't have a reservation, or you are just dining as a single person. The restaurant has a beautiful interior with multiple tables. There also seems to be a smaller dining area on the other side of the main dining room, not sure if this is for walk ins. I ordered up a gin martini that came out promptly. As for the meal, I ordered off the bar menu. The Prime Rib French Dip with a side of fries and an iceberg wedge with Roquefort dressing ($27). This plate came out huge for a bar menu item and I barely finished it. The prime rib was great, and the bread was lightly toasted as well. I look forward to coming back to try the Beef Wellington, hopefully on my next special occasion.

we had a great experience at this restaurant started off with drinks at the bar, then a wedge salad and a delicious ribeye and French onion soup. The staff was fabulous attentive. We also able to see different types of meat that they offered. He was a great experience had cheesecake for dessert, which was great.

While in town for a small vacation and some golf my significant other and I decided to visit the Whaling Station to grab dinner. The food was very good, the vibe of the restaurant was not stuffy, and the prices were fair. Service was a bit slow as I assume they were on a smaller crew for Sunday evening, but overall not a big deal. I would return!

Had reservations here and even though we were informed that it has been pushed back by 30 minutes, it was really only 10 minutes. We got seated and our waiter was great. I ordered the French onion soup to start which was delicious. For my entree, I went with the prime rib. It was tender and flavorful.

The Whaling Station never misses with the ambiance, liveliness, and service. I think some aspects about the food have missed the mark lately though. We had the prime rib egg rolls, crab cakes and firecracker shrimp for appetizers. The shrimp was delicious and large enough to share portions between 4 people. The prime rib egg rolls were a miss for me; it had a weird curry like sauce that clashed with the flavor the prime rib. The crab cakes for were. The hollandaise sauce I felt clashed with the flavor of the crab cakes. For dinner I had the beef Wellington. Superb as always and perfectly cooked.

We came here last month for our 40th wedding anniversary. When we got to the restaurant we were seated right away and our cocktail order was taken very quickly. The place has on old school vibe to it, and it is very warm and inviting. We are an older couple and can't eat much anymore and they were perfectly okay with us splitting a prime rib order. Everything we had was prepared perfectly and was delicious. The service was amazing and everyone who works there is super friendly. The whole experience from start to finish was an A+ dining experience and we fully recommend coming here for a meal. We will be back the next time we are in town.

On a recent visit to the Monterey coast I had a chance to go to the Whaling Station on the advice of a friend. I have to say the recommendation did not disappoint the meal the service and the ambience were all excellent.

I do have mixed feelings about our visit, we had reservations at 4:45pm the restaurant opened at 4:30pm. When we walked in, there was no one at the front to greet or acknowledge the customers. I stood there for a bit before someone actually came to ask what I needed, there was a person working the bar, I feel she should have at least acknowledged me and the others that had walked in and said someone will be with you shortly. Once the person at the front came and I let her know we were there for our 4:45 reservations, we were asked to wait while our table was ready and we waited a bit longer to be seated. Finally seater, our waiter was funny and attentive, the lady assisting him with making sure we had our water and bread seemed upset, like she was trying to beat the waiter to serve us. It was a strange vibe. We ordered a Cesar salad, crab cakes and clam chowder as appetizers, for dinner I ordered the Cowboy Rib Eye (medium rare) which came with garlic mashed potatoes, sauté spinach and fried onions, and I ordered a side of mushrooms. My son ordered the New York (medium rare) with the twice baked potato, the birthday girl ordered the Filet Mignon (medium rare) and my husband ordered the roast chicken. The steaks were more on the well done side of things, maybe a corner part of my steak was medium rare the rest cooked. The potatoes and mushrooms were delicious, but I was very disappointed over the steaks, the filet Mignon was also cooked more well done, not a hint of pink. For dessert the birthday girl received her cannoli and we ordered a Creme Brûlée to share.

This was stop wasn't really planned while in Monterey but it was a good space to try. Wait, bartending, and other staff were nice and polite. Though I sat at the bar I could tell the establishment takes care of their patrons. I was slightly disappointed by the meat but maybe I'm just being a snob. The mushrooms, fried onions and spinach were a great addition to the steak. The house Cab was also a delicious touch. A definite stop when in Monterey for a visit.

My wife and I had dinner at the whaling station last night. Perfection! The food was excellent-something you don't often find in too many restaurants. The lobster and cowboy steak was cooked to perfection. Being a carnivore, I know how steaks should be cooked and this was absolutely spot on. My wife said her prawn scampi and mashed potatoes were delicious and her French onion soup was the best she's ever had. The cherry cosmo was a delight. We've been there several times and they have always been consistent. I also have to mention the quality of our waiter, Daniel. He was excellent. The entire staff is courteous, attentive and professional. We would highly recommend the Whaling Station for anyone looking for the perfect meal.

So yummy! Everything was great - the bread, the drinks, the STEAKS, the appetizers and dessert. All so delicious. Id make a reservation it was pretty busy. But def try it out!

Appetizers were not awesome. We got calamari and the prime rib egg-rolls. The calamari was kind of hard and rubbery. The egg-rolls were good but seemed kind of expensive for 2 egg-rolls cut in half. We were there for the steaks, and they were well cooked and very tasty. The flavored salts were fun! Service was good. We had a birthday going on and they asked us about a special occasion, but didn't do anything for it. Because of the service and really good steaks. 4-stars

We had an excellent meal here. Some of my group had steaks while some of us had seafood. I had the crab raviolis with prawns, and it was scrumptious. Just be prepared for the prices and you'll enjoy your meal. The clam chowder had a unique flavor and was very good. My only criticism was for the desserts. The sugar top on our crème brûlée was burnt and so added an unpleasant bitter flavor to the dish. The New York cheesecake was bad - there's no sugar coating it. We passed it around the table (there were 8 of us), and we all remarked on the unsmooth texture (as if the mixture had broken before baking) and the overly sour flavor. I would definitely eat here again, but I wouldn't order a dessert

Meat was not cooked to order and one came out and the whole thing, inside and out was pink. Ordered appetizers we didn't receive. $500 spent for meh. I reached out to the email address provided and it bounced back as an email address that doesn't exist, so here's the detailed review: I brought my family to the Whaling Station on 9/6/25. We had a reservation at 7:45pm and were immediately seated. To preface, every employee displayed the utmost in customer service, so there is no complaint with that aspect. The restaurant is ridiculously noisy and patrons are seated on top of each other. I could barely hear my sister next to me so it was no surprise that our server misunderstood our appetizer order. But, we did repeat it three times. Three of us ordered the same meal: steak and fries with chimichurri sauce. This was found under the dinner meals that specified that it came with spinach and mashed potatoes so each of us assumed the fries were in addition to that. At no time was it explained that by ordering this we would not get any vegetables to speak of. My son ordered it rare, my sister ordered it medium rare, and I ordered it medium well. We all got the same thing: medium rare. And even though it was such a lightly cooked cut, it was very chewy. I don't know if it was cut wrong or it was a cheaper cut than was claimed. It was very tasty but that was because of the sauce, not the meat. My brother in law ordered the roasted prime rib, medium rare, which came out pale pink (all around, even on the edges-no searing or spices to be seen) with huge chunks of fat that were cement hard. The entire thing was bland and looked/felt like it had maybe been boiled. Nothing was rendered, seared, or seasoned. We are now at two very expensive meals that didn't have more than a bite taken from them. My daughter ordered the crab cakes as her meal and asked for the hollandaise sauce to be on the side. It wasn't and she learned very quickly that she doesn't like hollandaise sauce. Three meals uneaten. We also had several mixed drinks. The daquiris and lemon drops were divine but my daughter in law's Shirley Temple was problematic, you had to put effort into making it that bad. She asked for brandy to be added, but they used Crown Royal. I tried the drink and it tasted like Crown, but had no burn, there was no carbonation, and while it was reddish there was no taste of grenadine. It was like someone left Sprite out for days so it went flat, added a drop of Crown Royal and food coloring. Three meals and a drink. After the tip, we spent over $490 at your restaurant, where the ambiance was unpleasant, the food was not worth the price, and the kitchen (or server) got 50% of the entire order wrong. Almost $300 of our meal was unpalatable and went to waste.

Every time we visit Monterey we make sure to visit our favorite steakhouse and it never disappoints. The service and food have been amazing each time. My husband and I decided to try something new this time. I decided to try the beef Wellington and he got the Cowboy steak. They were both so flavorful. We also ordered the Whaling Station Manhattan. It was a very good bourbon drink. Look forward to visiting again. I am allergic to seafood and appreciate the server made sure to let the kitchen know.

I called to check availability for two on Saturday night and the hostess was very nice and accommodating. She made our reservation and proceeded to ask if we were celebrating anything. I informed her we were celebrating an anniversary and when we got there for our dinner the hostess congratulated us. We decided last minute to come here since we were driving into town and didn't know what time we would be in so very thankful they were able to get us in. I had a raspberry lemon drop that was very tasty and we started with the Fresh Pacific Oysters & Fried Monterey Calamari. Both appetizers were very good and the bread also was great! I had the lobster fettuccine with mushroom and artichoke that was absolutely amazing. I'm not sure if I am spelling the busser's name correctly but Mariselle was greatly appreciated! He was quick and very nice when my boyfriend asks about a few items on the menu. Overall great service and great food!

We visited this restaurant in 2020 during the pandemic and enjoyed our time. When we returned to the area recently in 2025, I could not remember the name of this restaurant or where it was located. After hours of researching on Yelp and Google, I still could not figure it out. Research fatigue made me choose a restaurant, so I just went with one and made reservations. As we turned the corner onto Wave by foot, we recognized this restaurant immediately and I was ecstatic to discover that I had found it without realizing it. Food was just as amazing as it was in 2020. Service was equally wonderful. The steak was seasoned and cooked wonderfully. The Caesar salad (advertised on the menu as table side prep, but was prep in the kitchen) had the right balance of ingredients in the dressing. The clam chowder was a bit salty for me, but a nice portion of clams. The crab ravioli tasted fresh and was covered in a light creamy sauce. The truffle fries had a great truffle aroma. And the tiramisu and decaf coffee was the best way to wrap up the night.

We came here for our engagement celebration and it did not disappoint! It's an old fashioned ish steakhouse which I love. The food and drinks were on par and the staff was very attentive! A great way to celebrate an engagement!

My boyfriend and I went for the first time for my birthday- though I have technically been a local for a few years at this point, I never really knew about this place until I was looking into places to have a fancy dinner, honestly. Daniel was our server and he was perfectly polite without being too service-like - if that makes any sense. I did appreciate it. It is pricey for my taste but I also can't say any of the food was bad, which can make it worth it. They refilled our bread often since we are both avid bread people, which was nice, the bread was always warm and not too rich to the point you couldn't eat the rest of your meal. As for the chowder, my boyfriend (born and raised here) said it was comparable to most Wharf chowders which is a good review from him. I had never had escargot before personally but it just tasted like a mushroom covered in butter which I didn't hate. Steaks were amazing, as to be expected for the price point. Despite the beef wellington being rather small (as is most likely normal for the dish I imagine) it was fairly filling - the bread differently helped. Flavor of the prosciutto was prevalent - ribeye was flavorful, no adds needed. They give you a canoli for your birthday - they also sing so warning for those that are not a fan of that. Affogato ice cream was great. For ambiance, they seated everyone properly I believe to not feel so crowded and crushed like I feel I usually do in restaurants - music was at the right level that I could actually hear and speak with others. And they have parking for patrons! I would certainly recommend though prepare your wallet.

Came here to celebrate bfs birthday. Made a reservation and we were promptly seated the vibe was cute. I ordered the beef Wellington and he got the filet both of our dishes were so good! The creme brûlée and cheesecake was really good as well! The cannoli was cool too..Service was nice, truly no complaints we will definitely come back for another special occasion.

Everything was great, until it wasn't. The appetizers were really good, the tableside ceasar salad was tasty, but our main courses were overcooked. The beef wellington was overdone, the lobster on the fettucini overdone and chewy as well. When we informed them of this, they sent a manager over who proceeded to explain and justify the overcooked items instead of trying to make it right. Insane. They offered us free dessert, which we rejected due to being too full, but they pushed it on us anyways telling us that they would pack it to go. So we got a free $12 dessert that we didn't want as a way of 'making up' for 2 ruined entrees that cost a total of over $100. That doesnt make up for those major mistakes in the slightest. What they should have done, is comp'd our appetizers, ceasar salads, or half priced the entrees.

favorite spot in monterey. sit at the bar and order a prime rib french dip (only available at the bar). it's plenty for 2 people and they'll even split it for you. $27 and comes with fried and a wedge salad. the prawns, artichoke, and steaks are phenomenal as well. huge shout out to alex and amy for always making our time there so special.

Wonderful from the moment you walk in! Went with some friends a couple of weeks ago. We wanted a change from the normal pier restaurants, so we chose this. Glad we did! The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The food was divine! ! My husband and I had the beef Wellington and honestly I think it was one of the best we have had! Friends had steak and the other had the lobster pasta, both said their meal was perfect. Very good mocktails. Pavlova! Very few people know what a pavlova was s let alone make it! Yum! Thank you Whaling Station Steakhouse.

Perfect service, great intimate interior, and has candles for a candle-lit dinner. Valet parking was free and quick. The food was the best! Hughly recommend if you're looking for a wide variety of steak cuts. My boyfriend got a 16oz prime rib mediums rare. Perfect cut and melt in your mouth. I can't eat as much so got myself the chateau sirloin steak medium rare, which was also very delicious. Finished our entire plate. Got the tiramisu, highly recommend, and my BF got the chocolate cake. Will definitely come back when I'm back in town!

Ambience and service were great. Thanks for this part I'm a meat buyer for a large business. The meat that was brought table side to choose prior to ordering was shocking. I KNOW MEAT, I know how it's graded. The menu and website says the meat they serve is USDA Prime Meat Absolutely this was Select Grade meat. I mentioned to the waiter but all he said was 'this is what we have'. Not his fault of course. So I ordered Short Ribs and won't go back.

Honestly, best steak I've ever eaten. Service was great, they talked to us about the different cuts and were very professional and friendly. Although it is expensive we plan on going as often as we can.

Just ok. For 2 people it was about $250 and the food was just alright. Our server was very nice and the service was good, but overall we probably won't go back.

if you're looking at the 1-star reviews about the lady who doesn't return her food and the other lady who allowed her child to be watching coco-melon loud asf whilst others are trying to eat: return the food if it's not to your liking and people are trying to have a nice date. for both lame excuses, there are people paying good money for this food. a simple ask for remade food and some respect for those around you would be nice. anyhow, me and my girlfriend went celebrating an anniversary and we were asked upon arrival if we were celebrating anything. a nice touch, seeming to be interested in why we were there. our server, oscar, was very nice, very attentive, and the rest of the wait staff was very quick. a nice touch was that they had a platter of all of the different steaks they serve, the names, where they come from on the cow, how they prepare them, how they should be cooked (in regards to an order), and the texture. schooling as well, very nice. we ordered caesar salad and to our surprise, it was tossed right there at our table. we had a nice conversation with oscar, one you might have with a friendly someone you just met and he made us feel comfortable and welcome. out entrees came out within a reasonable time, they tasted very good, we had our plates removed from the table and boxed for us, and at the very end. my lady ordered the Sirloin Chateau, and i ordered the New York Strip (pictures will be added for visuals) again, after the food, we had a plate of desserts come out and showcased for us. i heard tiramisu and immediately stopped listening (sarcasm) and my lady ordered the Crème Brûlée (fantastic desserts). before the desserts came out, we were handed a surprise dessert on the house of a vanilla bean and pistachio (i think) cannoli with a candle for a celebratory atmosphere. i mean i ended up spending over $250 but for the overall experience, food, attention to detail, and teaching, this restaurant is the fantastic date location. if you don't like your food, just ask for it remade, and certainly don't ruin other people's dates with coco melon. inconsiderate.

The past weekend some friends and I visited Monterey CA. We decided to try this restaurant and I was absolutely amazed by the quality of the food and service!! We ordered the surf and turf with rib eye and It did not disappoint. All of the food was cooked to perfection! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Monterey and want a vintage ambiance coupled by mouth watering food and top tier service!
