Wharney Hotel

This is a fantastic hotel with caveats. Wan Chai is great location in HK as its eateries and bars are plentiful and open later than Causeway Bay but it is a bit of a party place. I initially booked a premier Ocean room. This had clean, new furnishings however it was on the fifth floor facing the street and you could hear the bars opposite until 2am! The staff kindly moved me to a Premier Earth room. Though the furnishings were a little more worn it was still spacious, clean, and facing a side street which was wonderfully quiet. If you require a quieter room I would avoid the lower floor ones although the furnishings are lovely. The rooms are a good size compared to other HK hotels I've stayed in and also well equipped with fridge, kettle, coffee machine. Minor point is not much wardrobe or drawer space. The gym was useful and having the option of a pool is absolute value for money. It's very reasonably priced and so much going for it. I would definitely stay there again and for much longer as long as I'm able to get a quiet room!

The receptionists were great. The rooms are 'ok'. Due to an error (no mistake of the hotel) I was upgraded to a Sky Room... which apparently has been newly renovated. It was clean, bathroom was good, but whoever renovated it has design taste similar to a grandmother from the 1950s. The location is great, although there are a lot of other hotels in the same area to choose from. Pool was 'ok' but shuts at 7pm, which seems crazy. On weekdays the pool closes for a 2 hour lunch break. Whoever heard of such madness? However, the worst thing was the breakfast. Expensive and genuinely one of the worst breakfast buffets I have ever seen. Almost no choice and everything is very poor quality. They didn't even have real juice, just a cheap fruit flavored drink. The breakfast room is tiny too, I had to share a table with strangers on both days. As a result of the breakfast I will definitely not stay at that hotel again.

The hotel is large and beautiful, the rooms are novel and clean, the breakfast is rich and varied, and the environment is comfortable and relaxing The view from the road is comfortable but only has a city view. You can't see too far into the distance. You can reach the main pier and restaurants with different characteristics within walking distance. It’s a hotel I’d like to stay in again

One of the best shower since I started traveling 1979. Not exaggerating ✌️the high powered running water is excellent. The seventh son Chinese restaurant serves exquisite food and pricey but overall it is good ingredients. I enjoyed my stay.

The location is great, but again the service could be better. The room was fine, but there are always little things which doesn't leave us a good impression afterwards such as (not giving us a new soap once we finished the old one, we left dirty cups and nobody washed them) also we asked if we could do check out at 3 PM and we had to pay 300 dollars extra (sometimes if the room is free next day the hotel allowed it do it for free, especially since we stayed many times in this hotel)

Location is more than I can ask for. It is in the center of everything about 5 min walk from Wan Chai MTR station. Everything was modernly remodeled. Front office was prompt yet articulate enough. Room is considered spacious and bright. Lobby is easy to find and luggage storage for a whole day for free is definitely a PLUS. 5 STARS!!!!

The Wharney is perfectly located close to the metro, as well as great little restaurants and convenient stores. The room was comfortable and clean. The only drawback was that the elevators were very small, so we had to wait a very long time for one that wasn’t full to leave in the mornings. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a Hong Kong visit. Good value for the cost

Convenience plus! This hotel is close to everything. Close to the water, close to the wharf where you can catch a boat to Kowloon and close to shops. The rooms were simple and clean. The staff were very helpful.They have a optional small buffet for breakfast. It was okay, it had the basics. Overall a very pleasant stay.

My first time staying at this hotel was surprising because of how well used the space was. The bathroom had a funky vibe with a window to the room. You can pull down a curtain but it was weird but at the same time I guess it is to make the room bigger. You will be surprised how small the bathroom is and how smart they use every inch of it :) The second time I spent there was a bit disappointing. The room was smaller and I didn't care because it was just for one night. But they didn't have basics as moisturizer. I guess I was staying on the wrong floor hahaha They still have the ipod to control the room. Waiting for an elevator can take a few minutes. Be aware to take one as soon as it comes. People will just jump in even if they weren't at the line. Super fast check out. Located at the middle of the party street. You can probably hear some laughter in the middle of the night.

Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Don't be fooled, they have Premium rooms and regular price rooms. The regular priced rooms look nothing like the pictures! Imagine bathrooms that have not been remodeled since the 70's with mold in the showers and peeling paint. My friends in my group saw cochroaches in their rooms on more than one occasion. In addition, this hotel is located in the area of town where there are prostitutes.

Avoid. I stayed here during the electronics show because it was cheap. Lobby is nice but the first room had no AC and was a total shit hole to another room that was nicer but barely working AC. I had it set to 5deg on Max for 6 days and it never got below about 25. The only other spare room was the one I had moved out of. Great location with good bars and the best food ever within 2 minutes walk. Pay the extra and stay at the Luk Kwok 1 block over.

Very friendly staff, the room is nice n clean. The price is reasonable. First impression is very good so far. Will update my review before checking out.
