Seventh Son (Wan Chai)

"The name refers to the owner – the seventh son who learned his culinary skills from his father from the age of 14. The must-try barbecue meats include roast suckling pig which is smoky and rich. The skills of the kitchen team are manifest in traditional dishes like deep-fried egg custard with chicken kidney, and steamed beef patty with dried tangerine peel. The smart room comes complete with teak floors, gold accents and warm lighting." - Michelin Inspector

My bedroom was comfortable although small but nice and clean & tidy. They leave a choice of pillows which is a nice touch. WiFi was fine. The bathroom is small but functional. Overall I had a decent & quiet night's sleep & the room is pretty new & well maintained. At breakfast they have a good variety of food. However, nothing I ate was warm it had all gone cold. It took a while to get a coffee which wasn't great. To improve service I suggest that the cooked food should be kept warm. In addition, they should improve their coffee provider & offer client's a coffee when they arrive for breakfast rather than having to look for it & wait around for a while. Reception staff were friendly & efficient. I enjoyed learning about local gastronomic products on offer with the nice display close to the entrance.

Wonderful family stay at Wharney Hotel! Christmas hasn’t come yet, but the lobby is already full of beautiful decorations – big Christmas tree, twinkling lights, instantly got the whole family in festive mood! 🎄✨ Perfect for photos! Prime Wan Chai location: food and shopping just steps away, super easy with kids and elderly. Staff are warm and friendly, rooms clean and comfy. Highly recommend for family trips to Hong Kong! ❤️

Whenever I come to Hong Kong for business, Wharney Hotel is always my top choice! It’s located right in the heart of Wan Chai, surrounded by tons of fantastic restaurants just a short walk away – super convenient for meals after a long day of work. The staff here are incredibly polite, professional, and attentive – they really make you feel well taken care of. They’ve already put up the beautiful Christmas decorations throughout the hotel, and the festive atmosphere is absolutely lovely! 🎄 Highly recommend Wharney Hotel to everyone – whether for business or leisure, it’s perfect! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I can hardly understand the bad recessions. this hotel is really great, people friendly, clean, best location in the city, great and cosy bed. only a couple of minutes from MTR Wan Chai, or Bus stop in Hennessy Street. sourrounded by supermarkets and bars. you get coffee in the room and water, in the lobby there are offered infused water dispensers. there is a fridge in the room as well as a kettle. i had a parcel to be sent, and it was well taken care of my request. pricewise it is acceptable, but the breakfast they offer is at around HK$ 185, which i personally think is too much. but a wide range of different food and coffee. the pool is in a separate builing as well as the massage / spa / gym area. the pool i although would not use. it is not a nice place where it is, in middle of builiding. in the lobby, there is a nice sitting area.

Wharney is a good hotel that strives to run like a big brand chain. The staff who checked me in spoke good English, and upgraded me to a nice upper-floor room. While I didn’t have a view, the room was clean and had nice amenities. The hotel was a 3-min walk to Wanchai MTR or 15-20 walk to Causeway Bay MTR. There are a number of good eateries around, and the #A11 City Flyer bus (from the airport) stops along Hennessy Road and the hotel is on a parallel street behind the bus stop. Concierge has a systematic and efficient way of storing your luggage if you need it. It was the right decision to stay here and I would return.

Two times I stayed in this hotel ; twin bed room I had is spacious for hk standard, beds are comfortable with soft/hard pillows to choose from. Staff is friendly, checking in and out is efficient. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area; I will book this hotel again whenever I revisit hk.

Excellent hotel. The location is amazing, spacious rooms for HK, and the staff are extremely kind and helpful. They went out of their way to make very good recommendations, help us with navigating the city, and even booking transportation when we were leaving the hotel. A big thank you to Chris Fan and the staff for helping my parents during our stay!

First time staying here - the room is decent and clean. The bathroom is more spacious than average 4 star hotel. There are tables and a sofa which not a lot of 4 star hotel will provide. And the best part of my stay is the bed. It is the most comfortable bed I’ve slept by far among all the 4 star hotels I lived in. Overall speaking, trip ranked this as top 20 4-star hotel and I think this speaks for itself.A bit sad that the swimming pool is closed due to renovation. But amenities are great, there are gym room, swimming pool and even massage service.

Yelp
My first time staying at this hotel was surprising because of how well used the space was. The bathroom had a funky vibe with a window to the room. You can pull down a curtain but it was weird but at the same time I guess it is to make the room bigger. You will be surprised how small the bathroom is and how smart they use every inch of it :) The second time I spent there was a bit disappointing. The room was smaller and I didn't care because it was just for one night. But they didn't have basics as moisturizer. I guess I was staying on the wrong floor hahaha They still have the ipod to control the room. Waiting for an elevator can take a few minutes. Be aware to take one as soon as it comes. People will just jump in even if they weren't at the line. Super fast check out. Located at the middle of the party street. You can probably hear some laughter in the middle of the night.

Yelp
Quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Don't be fooled, they have Premium rooms and regular price rooms. The regular priced rooms look nothing like the pictures! Imagine bathrooms that have not been remodeled since the 70's with mold in the showers and peeling paint. My friends in my group saw cochroaches in their rooms on more than one occasion. In addition, this hotel is located in the area of town where there are prostitutes.

Yelp
Avoid. I stayed here during the electronics show because it was cheap. Lobby is nice but the first room had no AC and was a total shit hole to another room that was nicer but barely working AC. I had it set to 5deg on Max for 6 days and it never got below about 25. The only other spare room was the one I had moved out of. Great location with good bars and the best food ever within 2 minutes walk. Pay the extra and stay at the Luk Kwok 1 block over.
