Nashville Is Getting Nine Whataburgers, Y’all | Eater Nashville

"After having many breakfast taquito and spicy ketchup-slathered cheeseburger dreams shattered back in 2017 when job postings online proved false, I'm relieved that Nashvillians will soon have nine locations of the Texas-based burger joint Whataburger. Decades ago it had a few Tennessee locations, but residents have long awaited the return of the popular drive-thru chain known for its customizable burgers, honey barbecue chicken strip sandwiches, and honey butter chicken biscuits. According to the Nashville Business Journal, nine future locations have been announced. Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger in 1950 in Corpus Christi, and it has since grown to over 800 locations across Texas and nearby states, with most locations open 24 hours a day, seven days a week." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Looks Like Whataburger Is Finally Headed Back to Tennessee | Eater Nashville

"After having many breakfast taquito and spicy ketchup-slathered cheeseburger dreams shattered back in 2017 when job postings online proved false, it seems Nashville is on the radar again for the Texas-based burger chain. According to the Nashville Business Journal, James Turcotte, the Senior VP of Real Estate for the brand, confirmed that Whataburger is definitely expanding into the Southeast, with eyes set on Tennessee specifically, and that the company will once again start franchising stores — something the burger chain has not done since the early 2000s. Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger in 1950 in Corpus Christi, and it has grown to over 800 locations across Texas and nearby states, with most locations open 24 hours a day, seven days a week." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Family-Owned Whataburger Sold to Private Equity Company BDT Capital Partners | Eater Austin

"A family-founded burger chain launched in 1950 by Harmon Dobson in Corpus Christi, it has grown to more than 800 locations across Texas and nearby states and is known for a larger-than-usual signature burger — famously big enough to require two hands — and the exclamation “What a burger!”. The Dobson family has sold a majority stake to private equity firm BDT Capital Partners while retaining a minority share, with the transaction expected to be finalized later in the summer (financial terms not disclosed). The new ownership aims to expand the chain to new audiences and potentially to the East and West coasts, the Midwest, and other northern states; headquarters will remain in San Antonio. Leadership changes accompany the deal: current president and CEO Preston Atkinson and board chairman Tom Dobson will step away from daily operations but stay on the board, and longtime CFO and controller Ed Nelson will become president starting July 1. BDT’s portfolio focus on partnering with family- and founder-led companies (including Peet’s Coffee, Krispy Kreme, Casa Dragones, and Weber Grills) signals a growth-oriented, brand-focused strategy for the chain." - Nadia Chaudhury

Food is good, not so much for service. Bought a meal and wanted my coffee in a foam cup, they said nope we place it in paper cups, want it in a foam cup you have to buy a soda. Wow! Who says and does that. This Whataburger does. Besides, the person at the register was rude about it. Placing two pictures one of the cups and the rude person. This type of person can give business a bad name.

Breakfast BOB they over cooked egg dry and cold greasy hash browns. Staff was short and not pleasant. Drink order completely incorrect. 1st visit to this location in a long time disappointing.

Irma likes to roll her eyes when you ask anything of her. Seriously rubbed me the wrong way. Whataburger gets more expensive and the staff doesn't get better. Sounds like they are owned by private equity.

If you order on Uber eats they will not look at what you order, (e.g. purchasing additional sauces and not getting them), they will make your meal immediately and if there is a 1 hour delay in picking it up you will receive it cold. Don't expect any ketchup

Excellent place. Very nice workers. One of my favorite places to go to out of a few whataburgers. PS every now and then I see a Karen here 🤦🏻‍♀️ please don’t. Go home with all that. Lots of regulars like myself like coming here and we have no issues like ever. Most of the employees are young and handle orders as best as they can. With all the short staff everywhere.. they are doing great here. Thank You,Regular Customer 😊

I just went and they got the order wrong.Nothing wrong with that, mistakes happen. Its the fact that I went back and they used the same patty and bun and just added the toppings after my food was already cold! The service just all around sucked.I was the only car in line and they took forever to “re make it”I wasn’t going back for a 3rd time.I loveeeee eating cold food 🙄
