Yummy food It was an awesome meal It was delicious eating those burgers 🍔 They were tender and juicy and they were big . A lot of food you get and the prices for the food are good. The sweet tea and the lemonade are super good. The young men that took our order was very pleasant and attentive with a nice smile. He took our order to our table and asked if we needed anything else. Most definitely we would come back over here.

Without a doubt this Whataburger is the best in all of Missouri, the hamburgers are always hot and fresh, the fries are perfect, and the manager of this place is the best, the other places should have the same training as this place, I can recommend it with my eyes closed

Got lunch at this location after shopping and was quite pleased with the speed and quality of service of the drive thru. The staff were extremely friendly and got the order right. It took a bit longer than I expected but not so long that I wouldn't come back. Location looked relatively new and was right by the main road and hard to miss. Bacon burger and fries were delicious.

Man… what a let down. We don’t have Whataburger where we’re from. We ordered… and the woman forgot one of our burgers. Fries were stale and not hot. My husband’s chocolate shake wasn’t chocolatey. But the cherry on top was watching an employee wash her hands in the bathroom and then proceed to stick her hand into the trash to push down the trash and then not wash her hands again. GROSS. Won’t be back.

Undoubtedly EVERY SINGLE TIME I order from the Independence location, my entire order is messed up and the fries taste like they've either been fried twice or they are cold. It's pretty sad to have to order on the app because the drive up person can't key in the burgers as specified. Then to have to check the entire meal before you leave to make sure it's correct. I tried night shift once (around 11pm), I got my food 45 minutes after ordering on the app and then I had to wait again for the remake because 2 of the 3 burgers were made wrong. It wasn't because they were short handed. They had about 10 people working, mostly standing around. Super frustrating!!

I'm on the carnivore diet, so I decided to see if they would do 3 cheeseburger patties, no buns, for my breakfast. They sure can, and they came out hot and delicious at a fair price. Thanks Whataburger

Service here was pretty good, and the drive through was quick. I got a double Whataburger and a shake. The burger was... interesting. It wasn't bad. The mustard flavor dominates for sure. The bun was soft and the fries were pretty tasty too. They were a nice golden brown and were salted well. The Banana Creme Pie Shake was better than I was expecting. The flavor landed just right. For the price, this was a pretty good meal experience! Good service, good fast food!

I really want to like Whataburger. I went through the drive thru to pick dinner for me and Mr. G. I order the bacon cheeseburger with Avocado and fries with a Banana Pudding shake (the only thing that was good about my meal). I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with onion rings and a Chocolate shake fir Mr. G. The burgers were mediocre at best. Mine was really greasy and it was difficult to finish. Mr. G. did not like his burger either. My fries were chewy, not Crispin, and not a lot of flavor. Mr. G. Reported that the onion rings were greasy. Mr. G.'s chocolate shake had a banana after taste. The best part of the entire meal was my banana pudding milk shake. I either ate too much, or the food hit me really hard, because I did not feel good after eating and had to lay down and it took me a while to feel better. The service was slow. I paid and then moved ahead. A worker brought out the shakes and I had to ask where my food was. After a five minute wait my food was brought out by a different worker. At least the apple pies were fresh and hot. By the way, the pies were OK but not as good as McDonalds or Popeyes. I will go back but not for the food. Only the Banana Pudding Milkshake.

The burger that beats #5 - Whataburger With Bacon And Cheese - hasn't yet been invented! The chain hasn't been on top of its game lately (this superfan has had a number of less-than-stellar experiences), but our visit to this location restored my faith. The food was Whataburger at its best. Just out of curiosity - what is the real address? Our receipt said 18811 Hwy 40; Whataburger.com and Google say 18902.

Honestly, not impressed. Stopped here for breakfast hoping to get a "royale" type of burger. Closest thing they had was a burger with egg, hash brown sticks, cheese, bacon, and a pepper sauce. First, the presentation was horrible. the burger patty was in several pieces the egg had slid off the bun, the sauce was everywhere, the bacon was extremely thin and brittle, and one hash brown stick was broken in half and there was another one that had fallen out of the burger. As far as taste it wasn't horrible, but I've had far better elsewhere. Next up was the chicken biscuit with honey butter. This was also a mess and tasted even worse than it looked. The what seemed to be left over chicken tender had zero flavor, the honey butter stuff was like a weird coagulated paste, the biscuit was dry and hard, and the whole sandwich smelled like the greasy kitchen floor of a kfc/popeyes. This is my second overall experience with Whataburger. First time was for lunch (different location) where I gave a generous 4 stars, when it should have been a 3 at best. Now this experience which is an honest 1, I just don't see the need to keep wasting money here. There are many far better burger drive through's around to keep giving Whataburger a try.

Let me start by saying I have had Whataburger in other states and it was quite excellent. I was excited we were finally getting them up here, but not willing to jump on the hype train and wait an hour when they first opened. I Have been to 2 different locations here in the KC area, and both experiences were just "eh." Today I went back to the location near 40 Hwy & 291 in Independence (by Lowe's and the IEC) and OMG I am SOOOOO MAD! There was no one in line, which was great. I ordered my food and the employees were friendly. I got my order fast and headed home. When I got home and bit into my sandwich, I was thoroughly disgusted. I absolutely hate mustard and can't eat anything that has it on it. Well guess what? My burger with "ketchup and pickle only" was just SWIMMING in mustard. I mean, it looked like they put EXTRA on there. I checked my receipt and found that it HAD been wrung up correctly, whoever made the food just didn't bother to look at the ticket. This was strike three for the horrible local variety of an otherwise decent chain.

The employee didn't change her work gloves !! I watch her start making my biscuits and gravy order, Then was called to the register touching the cash register and went back with the same gloves and continued picking up my biscuits to complete my order at that point I said no way. I asked for a refund and to speak with the manager was just nasty if you have gotten sick from this location now you know why!! Employees need to change gloves before touching registers and then returning to prepping food, Very disappointed! The manager was polite and apologized but the employee herself started getting combative asking me to leave the establishment while I was waiting for the manager. Rude and nasty.

Terrible customer service. If you claim to offer online ordering, you should actually offer it or at least tell your customers that you don't at certain times. Instead, Whataburger has had the brilliant idea to just decline all credit cards when you try to order online. Last night I was giving Whataburger one last try despite the declining quality of their food and the increasingly ridiculous wait times. I tried several credit cards and all were declined online. I then used Paypal (an option they offer) and although the transaction was approved and showed up in my bank account, Whataburger still declined the order. Why, you may ask? I did ask the help line, but the language barrier between me and the fellow on the other end of the line was really too much to get through. I then called the restaurant directly, and they informed me that they were not accepting online orders because, and I quote, "We don't need online business. There's an event at the Cable-Dahmer Stadium." So, great, you couldn't turn off online ordering instead of making people think all their credit cards are broken? This was your last chance with us, Whataburger. I'll never be back again.

Let me just start with I am from Texas so having a Whataburger so close is fantastic! The burgers here are always fresh and made well, the fries are the best fries ever and if you want to splurge and get a shake they are really thick and delicious, go for it!! The staff is super friendly too!

First time coming here, needed a place to grab some food while I was in the area. Very clean and well kept establishment. Manager took my order and was really happy and excited which made up for the rest of the workers here who looked unhappy and unenthusiastic. Very quiet here, great food options and the food came out really well. My issue is primarily the food wait time. Took over 20 minutes for a simple order.

I went opening day and was impressed with the service. This time definitely fell short of my expectations. We dined in and stood at counter for 5 minutes while employees walked by and didn't even greet us. No 'we will be with you shortly' - nothing. There was even an employee standing behind the counter holding a thick manager handbook that didn't say a word to us. When someone finally came to the register she just stood there and looked at me without saying a word. Again, no 'hi' no 'May I help you'. It was bizarre. I could have made it into a staring contest, but decided against it. On the contrary, Jose that delivered our order to our table was very nice, greeted us and brought us our requested condiments. Seriously, step up the customer service, Whataburger.

Let me start off by saying that I do like this restaurant in general. I've been to other locations in Texas, so I knew what to expect. Whataburger is not known for being fine dining, but there are certain elements of a brand new store that I expect to be present. First off the counter staff was rude, condescending and truly did not want to be there. Again a brand new store, you would think that there would be a little spark of excitement in the employees, but there was none. I ordered my single burger with ketchup mustard and pickle only. The girl argued with me when she did not add mustard to the list, the burger was entered as ketchup only pickle only. There was no mustard on the burger when it arrived at my table. Her comment back to me was "they always put mustard on the burgers." That might be the case, but if I was a grill cook and I saw a special order come in, I would not assume anything. I would have ignored the missing mustard completely, but their mustard is amazing, and I had them bring me a side of mustard from the kitchen. Here is my real reason for the one star rating: while I was eating my burger an employee came to the table next to me, sat down, and proceeded to pick her acrylic nails, and flick it on the table, she must've had earbuds in her ears, because she was having a very loud conversation full of explicatives, full of vulgar discussion, and I felt that even though she was on her break, she was in uniform, eating her free meal, sitting in the dining room, I did not need to hear that. It did not appear that this young lady was adhering to health department rules and regs as she was wearing very long false eyelashes, and her nails were about 3 inches long. I don't expect the employees to be cookie-cutter Chick-fil-A employees, but I do expect The appearance of clean, polite employees. Stop hiring people with huge attitudes!

OK, I get that this is supposed to be a very popular burger place from another state that has infiltrated into the Midwest. I get that a lot of people have given it good reviews based on their status in another state and I think that's the mistake I've made here, I read reviews and decided to stop in based solely on that. What a price I have paid. I was in the area and I hadn't had any breakfast and I noticed the local Whataburger sitting to the right of The road and so I decided to go through the drive-through because I really had another destination so I didn't have time to go inside. First of all the drive-through was completely packed and that led me further into thinking that the food must be awesome. But as I sat in the line and waited and waited for what took a very long time I was beginning to question if reviews were altered or purchased by the company because the wait in the line was ridiculously long. The prices of the food is pretty reasonable but considering what I got makes me say the prices are a hook and once you're on the hook, who cares if it's good, cause you already got the cash!. I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was bacon egg and cheese with a hash brown and a drink. The total came to $6.32. When I got to the window the staff were very friendly so I was really anticipating this breakfast and when I opened the package of the breakfast sandwich, not only was I disappointed, I was angry. My sandwich which I thought was supposed to be freshly made looked like it had just come out of a package of smashed buns. I could barely see the egg because it was so small and it wasn't even scrambled, it was folded. The cheese was smacked on top of the egg and it was ice cold. There was no condiment on the bun, And the bacon which was only two slices was hard and burnt. The hashbrowns were the only thing that was halfway decent but they were so small they were like kiddy size pieces and there were only four pieces by the way, but at least it was warm and edible. For $6.32, this was one of the worst breakfast items I've ever purchased not to mention how long I had to sit there and wait for it. This was my first and last time visiting this place. A restaurant should operate as if every customer is coming in for the very first time and you want to impress them and keep them coming back and this place totally was a total let down. Instead of it being called Whataburger oughta be called "whatthe"!!@" burger"

Looks and tastes like Sonic. Don't be fooled! This is just a ploy by the Hamburger Czar to sell more hangaburrs! The honey butter chicken Bizkit is a good standby for a quick breffis bite. Sign is too orange, hurts my eyes.

Visited here on a Friday for lunch and we really enjoyed our dine in experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The gentleman serving food and bringing the condiments around was super friendly and did a terrific job. I ordered the Avocado Bacon Burger with fries. It was cooked very well, it was not dry, and the avocado spread was pretty decent. I loved that it was on Texas Toast too. The fries were not overly salty or greasy. I love that they have Coke Zero as a fountain option too. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch here and had no complaints. I had been here previously so I knew what to expect, but considering this is a fast food restaurant, I really think this location did a fantastic job.

Visited this location today and while the parking lot was mostly clear of clutter and trash I cannot say the same for the dining area because I didn't go inside. Ordering through the drive thru, the staff member that helped me was very nice. But the service was soooo slow. I was in lane A behind 6 cars. Lane B was starting to back up as well and the line just inched along slowly. Finally getting the food- my burger was good, the fries on the other hand were too salty and just not good. You could tell they were not fresh. I do not see myself making the trip down 40 hwy to this location again.

They aren't happy, the food isn't fast and on top of that it's a $15 burger meal. Save your money and more importantly your time and go ANYWHERE else.

Walked in and ordered at 10:12p 8/9/23. Cars went through the line; we kept waiting. Then a teenager(I'm glad to describe him to management) was given a huge bag of food and took three fountain drink out to a car at 10:30p and rolled out. My fiancé walked into the kitchen and asked what happened. The kid was supposed to bring the food out and just left it sitting. Then they remain it. Finally had our order at 10:48p. I'm really disappoint and it took up the rest of our night. We should've just got our money back and gone across the street.

The food was okay but they need to fire the manager they have 20 workers on break with all their food and taking up 8 booths while customers are standing around looking for tables and waiting 45 minutes for food. They literally can't serve customer for serving the employees, and customers can't sit at a table for employees taking up all the spots!

Just as good as I've experienced in Texas. The staff was attentive and hustling around to get customers taken care of. I had the jalapeño double burger and a regular size french fry. I'll stick with a single patty next time. Burgers are loaded up with toppings which also satisfy the pallet. I'm looking forward to these opening in the JOCO area. Give them a try and remember....they are a FAST FOOD burger place, not a gourmet specialty burger place.

Sat waiting for almost 30 minutes for pancakes and bicuits with gravy, the dude taking the order must have been baked out his mind, couldn't take direction or follow instruction the entire time I was telling him what I was missing and what his manager was asking of him .. got home and the food is just horrible, unbearably salty, pancakes were tore up from the floor up and the coffee was cold. What happened to the quality? The first few weeks were solid and then staff changes or whatever, but I watched about 15 mcdonalds cars drive through while I waited for my half assed food.

After reading all the mixed reviews, I was second guessing about coming here tonight. It's Sunday, around 6:45 pm. I was able to get my order, the cashier brought my food rather fast. I ordered the patty melt combo, so I could try the fries. Over all pretty pleasant experience. Reminds me of comfort food served fast. I think next time I'll try the breakfast and hopefully will get the Same experience as I did this evening.

The food is generally good, but the service is always terrible. The last two times I've been there I have waited nearly 30 minutes for my order and have had to remind staff that I was waiting for food when they came up to me after 20 minutes to ask if I had been waited on. They always seem fully staffed but the drive-thru is backed up and staff seem clueless about how to handle busy spells. I'm baffled by the fact that it takes 28 minutes to make a burger and two orders of fries.

Ordered ahead so my husband could pick up dinner and I timed it out to where it gave some extra time for them to prepare it. My husband got there and they didn't even have anything started at all yet. I understand they wanted to make it fresh so I let that go. But then he got home and half the order was wrong. Gave me chicken strips but no extra chicken (that I requested on the app and paid for) as well as no sauce to dip it in. It's one thing if they forgot these items when I order in person because they could mishear me- but when I order on the app and it's clearly selected/checked on there? Very frustrating. I wouldn't recommend this location. It's clear they are short staffed and even with the hype being calmed down a little and still not being able to make sure an app-created order is correct is not a good sign. Decent fast food, bad service.

WARNING DO NOT GO HERE! THERE ARE SO MANY BURGER PLACES THAT ARE BETTER. I've been to this location multiple times. The drive-through wait time is the worst I have ever experienced. I have waited in this drive-thru for over 30 minutes at 10 pm at night. Not once but made the mistake twice. I only waited because I had a hungry kid at home and she wanted this. NEVER do this drive-thru ever again. The reason I'm writing this review now is the management is also the worst I have ever experienced. After another long wait during the day (17 minutes in the drive-through) they messed up both sandwiches and forgot to put the fries in the bag. Very frustrating but I was more hungry than anything. I parked and went inside to get my fries. A woman approached apologized and gave them to me. When I got back in the car my daughter told me her sandwich was wrong. They put onions on it. She is allergic to them. The wrapper clearly had the no onion sticker on it and so did the ticket. I went inside to correct the problem. I waited a long time by the registers before I had to flag someone down. I tried to tell them what was going on but this person turned the conversation sideways and started going in on me about how he couldn't touch the package once it went out the door. Very strange/odd turn of the conversation which I literally didn't care about. I told him I was so tired of the problems I experienced here. He told me, "Why don't you go someplace else?" He made a great point! I set the sandwich on the counter after looking around for a trash can and left. He didn't even ask what was wrong or if it could be fixed. This person claimed to be the manager when I asked. I WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN. I called to complain on their main corporate line and was told they would take care of it and I would get a refund. SURPRISE! No refund. No follow-up like they stated on the phone (not that I cared at this point) I WAITED AND PAID FOR FOOD I NEVER GOT! PLUS WAS TREATED POORLY FOR NO REASON.

The hype doesn't match the experience. The hamburger was bland and dry. The bun was over-toasted and a bit stale. French fries were hot but lacking seasoning. There are plenty of other hamburger restaurants nearby that are far better. Would recommend that you skip this one.

The worst hamburger place I've ever taken my family. It took forever, all of my orders were wrong, it's expensive, it was cold, the bacon was raw, the soft drinks barely had any ice in them. It was awful. In fact, it would sacrilegious to say it was anything less than God-awful.

Whataburger has management issues!!! The food is always late the service is horrible!!! This place always gave me the wrong food!!! They can't get one order right!!!They don't know which burger is which!

I finally tried whatabuger and I knew I'd be waiting a while so I went inside to order to go it took 40 min to get my food and the fries went even hot cause I tried them in the car on my way home plus they didn't really taste that good , I think they need to change their oil , the cheeseburger was just ok not worth all the hipe everyone is acting like it's the best thing ever , Freddy's and Culver's is better ! The tea was good I'd definitely go back for the tea .
