Went here for my birthday this evening with family and the food was superb! The steak was to die for and was a stand out for me. One of the waiters seemed to be very new, as he kept looking at us trying to get his attention to order more drinks/dessert then walking away, so my brother had to literally call out to get his attention which felt rly rude of us, but we were sat waiting for ages with no drinks and dirty plates so didn’t know what to do. When he delivered our desserts, he asked us to remind him of the dessert we’d ordered bc one was missing even tho we reiterated our order multiple times, so it came ages after the rest which was a shame as the food was lovely when it did arrive. The other waiter seemed great and was on it though so will revisit just hope the service is a touch smoother next time.

The service is great, PORK BELLY bites I am highly reccomending, there is also a large and spacious beer garden! You can order through a QR code if you're lazy enough to go and oder inside. Heating is on, that make people feel cozy and there is ashtrays for smokers. Everyone was welcoming and kind! I had a bit as I was on my own but the food was great and perfectly complimented by the right sause!

Went here for a Sunday roast and will definitely be coming back! We both had the roast beef and shared a potion of cauliflower cheese which is a must-order. Hannah served us and was lovely, and all the other staff were incredibly patient and friendly despite how busy it was. A great place to visit for both the atmosphere and food.

Absolutely incredible roast. Great portion size. Lush roasties. Definitely the best pub cauli cheese I’ve ever had. I had chicken which I’d never normally pick but it looked fantastic. It did not disappoint. Really crisp flavourful chicken breast that was really moist. The only slight disappointment was the gravy. Which was very standard. Not unexpected when catering for such huge numbers but was the only thing on the plate that wasn’t 10/10. Will definitely be back. Thank you!!

By far a quiet, relaxing, non-pretentious local pub for local people. Genuine at best. Service is above average, but the ambience is pure bliss. I can’t stress enough, but if these walls could talk, they would spill the tea on all the history that has happened around the lovely establishment. Thank you. Dog friendly, people friendly. Try the pizza 🍕

A massive shout out to our Waiter Matthew. He was friendly and very attentive. So glad we came here to have our roast. The Yorkshire pudds were amazing and massive. I got the the trio roast - highly recommend

Our local always delivers! A cosy pub with great atmosphere and delicious food 👌🏻 particularly recommend the roast and the fish and chips (great every time)! Matt & Zary gave us great service during the F1!

The food and service were truly outstanding. The roast was simply amazing - flavourful and perfectly cooked. A special thanks to Joe, who was extremely kind and helpful from start to finish, making the evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cosy pub with great food, atmosphere and attentive staff.

In here last night (tuesday 19 august) and had a wonderful night. Georga was really attentive and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. Atmosphere was relaxed and lively, food was wonderful (I had salmon my friend had steak) Guinness was flowing. We've been five times and we will definitely be back!

The Wheatsheaf is our go-to spot for Sunday roast when we're over from the US, and want to meet up with our friends from the neighborhood. Two of us shared the lamb today, which was done perfectly and could have fed 3 or more. One had the "trio" of pork, beef, and chicken. And the pescatarian of the group had the fish and chips. The pints and were great. And the atmosphere was super chill, with attentive service from the amazing Jess.

After a stuffy journey sat on a train followed by tube for 2.5hours, on a sunny day, when I arrived at my brother's and he suggested going for drinks, I jumped at the chance. This pub is next to Tooting Bec tube stop so is in a good location. The inside is nicely done up and it had a good Sunday night vibe. As it was a warm day, we went outside. You have to walk through the dining room to get outside. Whilst we didn't eat, the dining room smelled delicious and there was a good selection. The outside area was nice, with some seats under cover with pretty fairy lights. There are also heaters so would be OK to sit outside when it's a bit colder. We had a house red, house rose and jack & coke came to around £12 which is really good value for London. I've put three stars because i didn't eat, but next time I'm down here I think I'll try the food. Well worth a visit.

We stopped in for dinner with the kids as it was near our Air B&B. Not traditional pub food but it was good. Good beer selection even if half of its American. The place was packed even at 5pm but the service was still fast. Our waitress was friendly and good with the kids. They do have children's portions. Would love to see what it's like on comedy night.

Unless you are over 60 and have lived in Tooting forever, this place is tricky. You will get stared at as you enter. And as you buy a drink. And as you drink it. But they have an elvis night and karaoke. I dread to think.

The Wheatsheaf Totting bec I like a 'mucky pub' as an ex-girlfriend of mine used to call them. The sort of place where people are honest, genuie, it is not a looker from the outside, but there is often a bit of sports and music going on and singing and dancing takes place spontaneously. It has a warm fire in the bar, a back room darkened to perfection for watching football on a huge screen and a beer garden out the back. The crowd here is mostly male. I noticed a lot of Irish voices and everyone was very friendly one my visit on a midweek evening. The pub is much bigger in size than it looks from the outside. A bit like a tardis. I am sure it gets worse if you are more drunk.

The Wheatsheaf has been the worst type of dive pub for years. Decades, even. We can all agree that slumming it is fun, but this place was just sad. Until recently, that is. Last month the property was taken over by the Antic group of pubs, familiar to Tooting residents from their excellent Antelope and Tram & Whistle pubs. The Wheatsheaf is definitely a work in progress, but charmingly so. It sticks to the shabby-chic ethos of the other Antic properties, but since the transformation is not yet complete it occupies a place between hipster hangout and tetanus petri dish. The best features, in no order, are the truly dingy furnishings, the decent real ales, and the crusty locals who haven't yet noticed that they're no longer the target demographic. This will change as soon as the kitchen is operational (late December), so soak it in while you can. Just make sure you don't touch the toilet seat.

This place used to scare me until I saw them do karaoke. It was so much fun and all the local punters were friendly and chatty - it was kind of like being welcomed into a big private party. It's now been bought over by the same people who own the Tramshed in Broadway, so it's completely different now. No karaoke, none of the regular guys, more flowers and clean chairs and new décor. I'll definitely go back more often now. Hopefully the tacky gimmicks will disappear over time as they slowly continue to redecorate. Loads of space, function room, nice people (now).

Just across from Tooting Bec station, The Wheatsheaf has fast become to place to see and be seen on weekend nights. They've got a fully stocked bar and barstaff that cozily straddles the line between hip and friendly. The American guy with the tattoos is especially nice! The food is much better than I had hoped for. The menu changes frequently and I've never had a bad meal here. I especially recommend the pork belly. If you've had a long Saturday night, rolling out of bed and heading to The Wheatsheaf will net you one of the biggest Sunday roasts I've ever seen. They have a changing selection of vegetarian options for both weekday dinners and Sunday roasts. If you're a regular at the Hope, making the 10 minute walk over to the Wheatsheaf for food will dramatically improve your evenings out. They're developing into a great place for live events with some pretty entertaining comedy running on Thursdays. The pub has really started to evolve under the new management and they're working on developing a beer garden around back, in case the weather ever clears up. They take plastic for purchases over 10 pounds.

If you like an old fashioned spit and sawdust boozer then this is the place for you. A bit rough round the edges, it seems to be a favourite for anyone who has done time just up the road in Wandsworth prison. Don't be deceived though, people are (mostly) fairly friendly, and you rarely get trouble here. They often have bad karaoke nights and the 'Black Elvis' evenings are not to be missed. Not probably one for the missus on a romantic night out.

When the new owners first took over we loved the place the beer was good (still is) and the atmosphere friendly and efficient. The run down furniture was quirky but did not detract from the enjoyment, it was a pleasant place to go for a chat and several drinks. Unfortunately there is a rougher type of clientele coming in and the music has become so loud you cannot converse without shouting and so, sadly, I have had to give a lowish star rating. Hopefully the rough element will be discouraged when (eventually) food is served and the music turned down. We still go in for what is a very good pint (of Sussex especially) but if the atmosphere and noise levels don't change we shall even have to forego that.
