Chung Chun Rice Dog Opens Its First Seattle Location - Eater Seattle

"Wheelhouse — a new farm-to-table gastropub from the wacky dinner theater circus Teatro Zinzanni — is now open at Hollywood Station, the Woodinville property that’s become a wine destination. It has a lodge-like vibe and a meat heavy menu, with short ribs, steaks, and pork chops for dinner, and a lunch service that includes pastrami reubens and an Impossible meatball banh mi." - Megan Hill

What a great addition to Woodinville. Great selection of wine and spirits, a nice homage to Redhook on the tap list, and awesome food! I went with a group of friends, and thankful that I did as portions are very generous. We were able to try some of the appetizers, entrees and desserts. Some favorites for the apps were the loaded tater tots and duck wings, stand outs for mains were the trout and roasted chicken and the desserts were tied with the giant bread pudding with huckleberry compote and the sundae! Really like how everything is shareable and locally sourced. Excited to see how the menu will evolve with the seasons.

Fantastic! Exactly what Woodinville needed, a new foodie delight. The menu is full of small plates and large plates to share. The atmosphere is a big upgrade to the previous Red Hook space. They addressed the crazy noise levels with sound boards, (yea). They also made a beautiful use of those diagonal beams guests could bump their head into. Now it's a well planned out fire table. With handicapped seating😁. There's a new fireplace as well as the table and the old store area is now a sweet large table area for large groups. Big changes, I can't wait to see what they do with the patio this summer. The space is beautiful but the food was out of this world. The deep fried cauliflower appetizer is still calling to me weeks later, yum! The ribs fall off the bone and talk about a Wow plate, order the pork chop. I felt like it was extra elegant with a long bone still connected AND so moist. Oh my gosh I never order pork because it is so hard to not dry it out. This chef has it down to a science, perfection! Fork tender and moist. Try it you won't be disappointed...mmm I'm making myself hungry for more😋

Wheelhouse was a very nice surprise. The ambience was great and they have a lunch menu that is very well priced. The food was delicious especially the Ecolibrium Farm's Hubbars Squash Soup, which was one of our favorite dishes.

I am writing this review with very conflicted feelings. I really wanted to love Wheelhouse. The menu and interiors were great and we were so excited for a new, cool restaurant near us, however the food was good, if on the expensive side. I think what has made me reflect on our visit and likely NOT return was the mandatory 20% gratuity added to our bill - we were a party of two. We were told that this was added so that all the staff could be paid a fair wadge. I understand the importance and need for a fair wadge but we are already paying $25+ for a main (mine was $27 and my husbands $31), should the responsibility not fall on the restaurant owner...? I did receive good service, but excellent, no. Tipping should be left to the discretion of the patron. I can see a lot of people visiting Wheelhouse once and leaving with the same feeling we had, conflicted. I hope they change their policy and allow diners to tip as they feel, the way tipping is meant to be.

This place was fantastic. It's the old red Hook brewery and they are just getting started. Fun menu with interesting twists on comfort food. We really liked the duck wings there. They also have a fantastic beer and wine selection

I tried this place for first time, the meals need a little help. I had a chicken sandwich, the bread was dry and flavorless and the chicken was over cooked and filled with grissel, the fries were over cooked as well. I also had their tapas, not bad but it too could use a little help. The staff there is exceptional, very nice and quick with the meals. I will give it another ago and try something else, I like to give any new place at least 3 times.
