Wheelie Pop Brewing - Review - Ballard - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Wheelie Pop’s beer is great, especially enjoyed on one of their outdoor picnic tables, but their spiked Italian sodas steal the show whether or not they intended it. They come in flavors like watermelon, green apple, and everyone’s favorite: blue. If you’re brewery-hopping in Ballard and need a break from the wheat stuff, make a stop here." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
A genuine spot and top suggestion for a local brewery experience. Bartender was authentic and had me laughing like none other. The theme is definitely racing related. The lager was fantastic, definition of crushable without the heavy bloat feeling. Dog friendly and just an all around vibe.

Google
Great beer, amazing beer. However, the experience was clouded by the entitlement of dog owners coming in who don’t seem to understand that « dog friendly » doesn’t mean dogs can do whatever they want with strangers. Dogs don’t pay for beer, people do. I’m allergic to dogs and experienced dogs coming in twice that licked and sniffed at me. Won’t come here again due to my experience, you’ve lost my money. But the beer is really good and that’s a plus if you’re okay with entitled and obnoxious dog owners. I am not reviewing just the beer here, but the experience of this brewery, if it were just the beer it would be all stars.

Google
Great beer venue, clean and nice inside and out. Owners are super nice and brew exceptional craft beers. We tried nearly all of them (two flights of four) and I was impressed. There wasn’t one bad beer in the entire mix, strongly encourage everyone that’s hitting the Ballard brew scene to hit up this new brewery, I’m glad we did!

🏎Wheelie Pop 🏎 As the name might suggest, @wheeliepopbrewing is all about Formula 1 Racing and the like. What you might not assume from their logo is their appreciation for music, vinyls specifically. We heard of/ enjoyed Wheelie when we attended the #ballardbitesandbrews event. They were one of the many Ballard breweries that attended. What stood out to us was their tender's positive attitudes and informative commentary. They made sure to let us know what they were offering and where we could find them. We made sure to stop by that night and made another trip recently. They are a modern simplistic themed taproom with an impressive taplist. They have classic offerings as well as new features that you don't see elsewhere. Specifically, they offer an "Italian soda-style" seltzer that allows you to add flavors you enjoy to their flavorless-base. Combine this with their patio, and you got yourself the perfect sunny day hangout. While there were most recently we tried, their: 🍺Haze Gaze 🍺IceMan Cold IPA 🍺TightWad IPA 🍺Zoomies Pale Ale 🍺YoYo Hellz Lager 🍺Rabbit Ear IPA They don't offer food other than snacks themselves, but they are situated perfectly next to @trailbendtaproom, another seriously impressive place (check out our review we did on our page). We ordered pizza from them and brought it back to our table. It was convenient and took less than 15 minutes on a crazy busy evening filled with families and dog families alike. As if all this wasn’t enough, we also go to use @beernav our beer passports to get some pretty sweet discounts. We will be sure to stop by soon.

Google
There's a reason they are rated 4.9/5. The beers are amazing, honestly, the best I've had in Seattle. Highly recommended, often have a food truck too (list is on their website), absolutely do it!

Google
First time here and was very impressed with the selection of beers. I really loved the Rabbit Ears IPA. Bought a 4 pack assortment and enjoyed all 4 at home. The environment and decor are really nice inside and out also. I would highly recommend making a stop here if you’re ever in Ballard.

Google
Relatively small and with relatively limited/mainstream options versus their Ballard neighbors, but friendly service on a quiet weeknight. Moto/racer theme is a good match for the area. Easy to incorporate into a brewery crawl, but not a can't-miss.

Google
One of my favorite breweries in Seattle. Staff is awesome, and their trivia on Thursday nights with food trucks fills up 1-2 hours before it starts!

Yelp
A fun spot and a recommended stop if you're doing a Ballard brewery hopping day -- we stopped by at the tail end of our day and it was the perfect spot to wrap things up. The bartenders are good at making recommendations and the whole vibe is laid back -- they have lots of board games and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! It's definitely less crowded than some of the usual suspects in the Ballard brewery row area. I also appreciated their tie-in decor to all things racing, including some motorsport racing circuits. Everything from the logo to the small decorative touches... chef's kiss!

Yelp
A solid choice if you're ambling around this area trying all of the different breweries that are located in the general vicinity. Japanese-style lager was very good. What's really nice is that you have the choice to order multiple sizes - not everything is available in pint only. A 4-ounce slurp of beer is so welcome when you'd really just like a taste and not a full-on multiple gulp of beer. Friendly employees, nice seating (both inside and out) along with a very comfortable atmosphere. A good place to stop, whether you're getting a lot, or just a little, taste of the beers they have to offer.

Great staff and awesome selection of beers. Lots of food trucks nearby too. Very dog friendly for well behaved four legged friends

Yelp
My go to brewery in Ballard. Very chill with friendly staff and patrons. Too much hustle and bustle at Rubens and I enjoy the beer at Wheelie Pop a whole lot more.im a number somewhere else where here it feels like my neighborhood brewery.

Yelp
Family and I stopped in on a quiet Friday afternoon. We were not disappointed. We met one of the super friendly owners, had a couple of pints of delicious Haze Gaze and played some board games. This place is super chill and super clean. Loved it! Until next time.

Yelp
Doing a quick beer crawl through ballard for my buddies bday and finally made a stop here. I wish we would have stopped here first because by the time we got here I was a little buzzed and didnt get the full experience of wheelie pop. What I remember was the people helping us were very nice. The location seemed very nice. The beer was solid and I will make a return trip for sure.

Yelp
Beer is good but I come here for the ambiance! Outdoor seating is always a plus! Dogs like it too!

Yelp
Wheelie Pop Brewing is a new brewery in Ballard that opened within the past year. They don't make hazy IPAs here. They have a variety of lagers, pilsners and regular IPAs. Overall, it's not my favorite style of beers that were offered here. My husband enjoyed the pilsners from here. This place is also dog-friendly like most breweries in Ballard.

Yelp
This is the newest brewery to have arrived in Seattle's Ballard Brewery District. Somehow it escaped my radar with my Yelp searches but after reading an article in the Washington Beer Blog thatbis where I discovered it's existence as well as many other breweries that escaped my notice. I have had four different beers from this brewery, I did have a favorite but all of the beers were good all the same. When I visited the taproom I had two beers here. One was the amber beer they had on tap and the other was their Hoppy Lager. Nice, refreshing beers and a clean, sleek looking taproom. I bought two cans of two different stouts to take back home. My favorite out of the four was the Poweslide Stout. This was an Oatmeal Stout and the naturally sweet elements of the oatmeal was very noticeable and made this stout my favorite out of the four. The final beer was the Toplivo Imperial Stout. I think this was the strongest out of the beers I had and it was enjoyable for sure but in the end my heart truly lies with their Powerslide Stout.

Yelp
We sat down *twice* and were told the tables were reserved even though they didn't have a reserved sign unlike some others. Half of the brewery was taken up by birthday parties. Sucks because we went for my birthday too.

Yelp
Wheelie pop looks and smells new and fresh having just opened December the 26th. With its clean lines and colors, it's name and look take on the Italian Moto racing theme. They have a good tasting strong line of brews along with prosecco, Asti de Moscato, hard Italian soda, as well as non-alcoholic Italian sodas and snacks. The taps are a variety of easy drinking low to mid abv's. They have a couple of guest rotations. It would be nice to see one or two hard ciders as an option, but at this time there are none. It's a comfortable and easy going addition to the Ballard brewery scene.

Yelp
Good quiet spot for beer! It's not as packed or rowdy as other brewery spots around here, which I appreciate. There's quite a bit of IPAs and pale ale selections if you're interested in those. I had an amber which was pretty smooth! They also have hard Italian sodas which caught my interest and might try that next time!

Yelp
It was pretty busy last night, but stayed warm outside under the heaters! Great beer, and Marley and Tod were super helpful!

Yelp
Better than Cloudburst (love you Steve and Zach)... fight me! Seriously these beers are so damn good and none of it taste the same as the last one. Ales, and, lagers, and saisons oh my!

Yelp
Wow. This place blew me away. Excellent variety of high-quality west coast IPAs for every palette. Stouts (incredible) and lagers will cater to any preference. Definitely worth your time. Give this gem a try. Welcome to the neighborhood, Wheelie Pop!

Yelp
Went to Wheelie Pop for the first time on Sunday and was very pleasantly surprised. Solid selection of beer, I had their cold IPA which was balanced and refreshing. Tasty hard lemonade and NA options as well. Space was bright and clean with indoor/outdoor seating available. The staff was so nice, probably the highlight of the entire experience. Dog friendly too! Add this to your must try list.

Yelp
Very nice and clean new brewery in town. The guys at the counter are extremely knowledgeable and nice. Great place to go enjoy beer that tastes like beer!

Taylor S.

Yelp
Awesome beer, awesome staff. The beer selection is more diverse than a lot of the breweries in the area. Less of an emphasis on heavy IPAs and more focus on drinkable lighter beers. Pretty much the ideal Ballard brewery spot that feels true to the neighborhood. Lots of seating, easy access to Trailbend food next door. Has quickly become one of my top favorite spots.

Yelp
We stumbled on Wheelie Pop a few months after they opened, and now it's become our favorite Ballard brewery. The beer is amazing (currently obsessed with the Thunder Strata fresh hop, but Rabbit Ear is our go to IPA), the owners and staff are super knowledgeable about beer...and awesome to boot. Plus, they have Italian soda options for non-beer lovers. Wheelie Pop rocks!

Yelp
Amazing family owned business!! Such a great atmosphere and tasty tasty bear!! Head in any night for a great time!!

Yelp
Great beer.... Love that the staff was totally on top of cleaning the tables and seats. My new favorite brewery.
