Google
The bread looks great and is worth a stop. Lots of flavors that seem worth trying. Will be back to try more Only giving 3 stars because I was a little disappointed with my olive bread. The employee said it was “packed with olives” so I gave it a shot but see photos…

Google
Breads have great flavor so I keep coming back but unfortunately about half the time I get home and cut into the bread only to find the inside is gummy. I’ve had this issue most often with their breads that have mix-ins (which I assume is causing a proofing issue?) but just bought a loaf of Tuscan wheat that was also very gummy and I suspect underbaked. Hoping they fix the baking issue soon as the flavors themselves are lovely!

Partha Jyoti D.

Google
You defiantly get verities of bread along with different sauce, bagels, donuts etc. The shows toppers are the bread section. I haven’t seen chocolate or walnut bread anywhere else in Somerville. All costs $7 Nice store, humble cashier. Will come back.

Google
They were so nice and made me feel welcomed. The bread tasted great!

Google
Some of the best bread around! The employees here are always so kind and considerate. I had my cat with me today after a vet visit so I couldn’t go into the shop, but they were willing to do the transaction outside, so I still got my delicious sourdough bread!

Emma V.

Google
The donuts here on Saturday are AMAZING. Heads up the donuts are also huge and we could have easily split one. The staff were really friendly and helpful when it came to picking out two donuts - all the choices looked amazing! We will be back!

Emily M.

Google
I love When Pigs Fly bread! My favs are the Oat and Honey, 6 Grain and Pumpkin Seed, and basically any of the sweet breads! The English Muffin loaf is good too. The staff are all super kind and helpful. I saw some negative reviews on here that find fault with the service, and to them I say: hello? Are you okay? If you can’t get through a bread order (which should be a simple, short interaction I’d say??) without beefing with a staff member, I invite you to consider that *you* might be the problem. :)

Google
Huge variety of creative breads, donuts, jam, and olive oil for sale by the vat. Check out the photos to get a better idea of their offerings. Reasonably priced.

Yelp
The breads from When Pigs Fly are delicious and I will continue to order from them in the future.

Yelp
I used to buy this sourdough at Hannys in Manchester NH faithfully, all the time. The last few months I noticed the quality is not as good. Its hard in a couple of days even if I catch it when it comes in. I miss how it used to be
google avatar

Yelp
Just tried the Pumpkin/Cranberry/apple bread. OMG - it is sooooo good. We sampled it as is - not toasted or buttered and we thought it was perfect. Will be making French toast with this bread soon.

Yelp
Best bread in Boston!!!! Bakery is simple and clean with a good set of different bread loaves. Service is friendly and efficient, they cut the bread for you too! I love the sun dried tomato loaf the most but the spinach onion, multigrain loaves, and even just the classic sourdough are also great. The bread flavor and texture is always perfect
google avatar

Yelp
Everytime I come to Davis Square I love dropping by because their sourdough makes for some yummy avocado toast. It's a bit pricey (usually $7 a loaf) but they do have $3 sourdough deals on Wednesdays and help slice the bread for you. It's also nice being able to support our local businesses. The employees are also so lovely. They really know the flavor profiles of each loaf and are always happy to chat.

Yelp
Epic worker person let me take a picture of the uncut chonk of bread. Their bread cutting machine is so cool...

Yelp
I mean it's 'When Pigs Fly', the bread is great. However, we did not like the customer service. There was a guy and girl working when we paid the visit. The gentleman who works the register was pretty rude when we asked questions about the bread and ruined our experience. We grabbed sourdough bread with some donuts (they sold Union Square donuts, not their own, which I found it odd.) I might return when I need good bread but probably not when he works there. Inside is perfect space for what they are selling, is small and there is no seating.
google avatar

Yelp
I got a loaf of the harvest cranberry, which wasn't my first choice, but they were sold out of most things by the time I arrived near closing. But!! It did not disappoint at all. The bread was so fresh and had the perfect amount of toppings scattered inside. I had to stop myself from devouring more than a few slices since I was headed to dinner. I'll definitely be back, earlier in the day next time!
google avatar

Yelp
Yum! stopped by on a Wednesday for their $3 sourdough special. It's a decent sized loaf, and the bread tastes super fresh. Had to freeze most of it to endure freshness, looking forward to enjoying it in future days!
google avatar

Eri L.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of When Pigs Fly bread because of all their fun flavors-- standouts include their sundried tomato which have pieces studded throughout and the baby spinach, onion and garlic which is perfect for an avocado toast. I appreciate that their bags are freezer safe because I can toss a whole sliced bag into my freezer and have it on hand whenever; slices toast up super well from frozen without needing to de thaw. Service is uniformly super friendly across all the Boston stores. There's no where to sit down inside to enjoy their baked goods.
google avatar

Kristine A.

Yelp
Their bread varieties are pretty amazing, although they need more vegan options. I was shocked to see how much their loaves of bread cost though. It's kind of unnecessary for it to cost so much but I know supporting small businesses are important.
google avatar

Sharrun N.

Yelp
We found a great assortment of breads, ready to be sliced. Also bread bowls to hold soups or stews. We tried a lovely sourdough and it was hearty and tasty. We also picked up a large campfire-something cookie which was excellent. My husband thought it was the best cookie he ever had. It was certainly large enough to share. Staff was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
stopped by here for something sweet on a thursday afternoon. sadly, they were out of donuts and most pastries! i ended up getting a salted caramel chocolate chip cookie which was all right. in my opinion, it was over salted and wasn't anything to special. however, it was a huge cookie and the portion was worth the money. next time, i would definitely try some of the other pastries and the bread! other than that, the shop is small but cozy. service is kind too. loved the vibes here!

Yelp
The bread is excellent. Inside is small and cute, perfect space for what they are selling. The customer service not so excellent. There a particular gentleman who works the register most days I come in. Today there was a "be back in 10 minutes" sign, which was fine. I pulled on the door to see if it was still locked after waiting about 5 minutes and he came to the door, stopped, looked me dead in the eyes and gave me the rudest look, then proceeded to unlock to door and be rather rude to me as I asked for my bread. I felt uncomfortable and was confused why he was irritated with me when he's the one who locked the door during open hours? I probably will not be returning here unless I see someone else working because I feel so uncomfortable.

Juliette V.

Yelp
I stopped in to grab some of their yummy loaves this morning and felt like I was irritating the man working. I was the only person in the store. I started to tell him what I wanted and he quickly prompted me to let him know when I was ready with my full order and he would then begin slicing. I chose 3 and while he was slicing I kept looking. I wanted to add two more loaves - and did but was legit afraid I was gonna piss him off. I mean, isn't that what they want us to do - order more stuff? I shouldn't be thinking I am brave just wanting to give them more of my money.

Yelp
Ordered: Donuts (Almond Joy, Maple Glazed, Pecan French Toast), Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie, Baby Spinach, Onion & Garlic Ciabatta Wow, you will not believe the size of these donuts! Definitely the largest donuts I've ever come across. They were a little too sweet for me though. Out of the three, the Almond Joy was my favorite! If you're a fan of the candy, you'll likely enjoy this donut. The cookie was soft, chewy, and had the perfect salted caramel flavor. Although the donuts and cookie thoroughly satisfied my sweet tooth, I have to say, the ciabatta was my favorite. It was soft on the inside, full of flavor, and a must-try! Although it was delicious on its own, it also pairs perfectly with a cheese spread. They also have several other kinds of bread, so I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Boston!
google avatar

Yelp
Unique sourdough breads with both savory and sweet options. I love that they slice the bread for you if needed. I keep coming back just so I can try their other flavors. The bread also freezes quite well if you find you cannot finish it all before it goes bad.

Yelp
Finally made it in on a Saturday before they ran out of doughnuts! As someone who isn't really into cake donuts, I was really happy to see the assortment of yeast options. They were both pricey (~$4 iirc) but absolutely massive--the cream donut must've weighed like 2 lbs. They're a bit bready for yeasted donuts, but I quite liked it! Especially loved the texture of the cream donut, reminded me a bit of rice flour pastries with its bounciness. Have gotten bread here a couple times, again quite pricey and a liable to mold really quickly, but similarly to the donuts is a good splurge if you're wanting to treat yourself.

Yelp
Donut-only review: 2/5 Pros: -6-10 fun donut flavors every Saturday! -Donuts are HUGE--biggest I've seen for donuts that only come in one size (and I've been to ~90 donut shops) -The awesome staff is super helpful and kind (they reserved a donut for me and happily answered all of my questions) -Parking is hard but there's a city lot not far -Frostings/creams are pretty good Cons: -Pricey @ $3.50-$4/donut -Potentially only yeast donuts, though possible cake donuts were sold out when I arrived -Dough is very bready/chewy, which I guess might be expected from a killer bread place, but it's not the light and fluffy texture I look for in a donut -- Boston Cream ($4.00) Perfectly round yeast donut filled with vanilla cream and topped with chocolate frosting. The best part of this was the light vanilla cream/pudding. The chocolate frosting was a bit too sweet, but the worst part is the dough which is bready/chewy. Cheescake Crumble(?) ($3.50) Yeast donut topped with cream cheese icing and a graham cracker(?) crumble. Because the frosting covered the whole donut we assumed it was filled but the frosting just covers the hole--no filling here. The cheescake icing is good but definitely rich. The crumble isn't crunchy but adds a nice texture. Not sure if I'd get another yeast donut here again due to the bready dough, but if they make cake donuts I'd give them a try.

Yelp
Holy CRAP is this bakery amazing. I've only tried their incredible breads but I'd love to try their cookies and donuts and other goodness too. I discovered them at a small farmer's market near MIT. I got the chocolate and apple cinnamon loaf ($6 each). They are HUGE, and absolutely divine. Be forewarned though their loaves go moldy fairly quickly (makes sense - no preservatives, hot humid boston weather) so make sure you share and make some people really happy :) or freeze half for later!

Yelp
Once, my bag was chosen for secondary screening by the TSA at Boston Logan Airport. My loaf of chocolate bread from When Pigs Fly had set off the alarms. The TSA agent pulled out the bread and informed me that he loved When Pigs Fly as well, and that the sundried tomato bread never lasted long enough in his house for him to have any. When Pigs Fly, setting off TSA alarms and bringing people together in the strangest of places! Now for the actual review: My favorite is the chocolate bread -- everything I want in a sweet bread, really. It tastes divine when toasted (those melty chocolate chips!) and sometimes I add strawberries and whipped cream for a special treat! The banana walnut bread is also great -- a nice crunch and sweetness. For savory breads, I love the sundried tomato with fresh basil. Great flavors. All of their savory breads have this chunky salt on top that is really tasty. I always go for their holiday special deal (buy a $25 gift card and get a free loaf of bread). I buy the gift card for myself and it never lasts long! When Pigs Fly is a true Davis gem.

Yelp
I came for dessert after dinner. I tried the lemon blueberry cookie and the lemon blueberry cake. I have to say they are fantastic. The lemon flavor was very fresh and the blueberry flavor provided a sweet and bold taste. The heavy flour smell from the cake also earned my favor. This is a great bakery place to have desserts or some fresh baked bread!

Yelp
Carb lover's paradise! Plain, savory, or sweet, this small and unassuming bakery has everything you need when it comes to bread. They always have a few samples up front for you to taste, but if there's a different loaf you want to try, just ask and they'll slice a new one for you. For sweet: The Apple Cinnamon and their seasonal Blueberry Lemonade loaves are two of my favorites. They're almost dessert-like! For semi-sweet: Orange/Cranberry/Walnut and Mango Pineapple/Raisins/Sesame are my standard go-to's. Perfect as toast for breakfast. For savory: The Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and the Garlic Spinach are both wonderful for paninis or sandwiches. I'm usually not a fan of olives but I also think their Olive bread is amazing. In addition to the bread, the bakery also sells bread pudding, cookies, fresh pizza dough, homemade jams, and different types of oils. Some might think that the prices are expensive, but with the quality of ingredients here, $6.00 for a loaf of fresh artisan bread is well worth it. During the holidays they also have a special deal of one free loaf of bread with a purchase of a $25 gift card. Definitely a good buy!

Yelp
I had seen When Pigs Fly advertised in many random spots all over the place. From local businesses, to Whole Foods and even in magazines and television shows. After moving to Somerville and driving by the place almost every single day, I finally decided to check it out. After all the place is less than a mile away from my apartment, and is located just a couple of minutes away, if that, from Davis Square. So one random evening, I grabbed my jacket, car key and drove out to the place. They have a tiny 4-spot parking lot available and I snagged one of the spots and made my way inside the modest, small shop. The décor is very simplistic, and features wooden accents with some dim lighting. Instead of a counter like you'd have inside any other bakery I've seen, you instead face two 'walls' of shelves, each stocked with all sorts of breads and other random baked goods. They have all sorts of bread loafs available, from the classic sourdough breads to move original ones like some which have some Curry powder in them along with some raisins. It's different but actually pretty tasty and they have samples that you can try near the register. I sampled quite a few before making my mind up and the women was very helpful in the sale process and answered all of my questions. I was essentially looking for some good, crusty sandwich bread whose flavors wouldn't overpower whatever other ingredients I stuffed in between the two slices. I got their wheat bread for this particular occasion and it toasted well and the sandwich was great. Since then I've also tried their chocolate loaf which is decent and their sourdough bread which is pretty good. Overall the shop is a nice addition to the area, which doesn't have too many bakeries, Lyndell's aside, and they have breads for all sorts of occasions. Along with their bread loafs, they also sell all kinds of jams and occasionally will have other baked goods like puddings. The service is friendly and their prices aren't too bad, at least than $5 for a loaf. And their loafs will last you about 3-4 days if you keep it in the bag and sealed.

Yelp
I first heard of When Pigs Fly from my boss as she told me "This is a must try if you live in Somerville". Her specific recommendation was to go on a Saturday to try their weekly doughnuts. I came here on one occasion during the week to grab a Salted Caramel Triple Chocolate Chip, which was big, delicious and very fudgey. I had to eat it on 2 occasions because of how huge and fudgey this delicious cookie was. Then I came here on a Saturday, to try 3 doughnuts (Confetti, Cereal, and Mango Blueberry). All doughnuts are deliciously baked and frosted, and did I not mention GINORMOUS. I personally recommend to eat one doughnut at a given time! I came back here on a third occasion to try a Hibiscus doughnut and it is deliciously flavored like the flower and doughy. So other than the doughnuts themselves, the workers there are lovely and gave me their personal recommendations. I'm glad to have this cute local bakery near my house!

Yelp
So why would you want to bother going to When Pigs Fly when you can just buy their bread in the grocery? The sensory experience alone is worth the trip. There are about a dozen different glorious types of bread in loaves as well as yummy cookies, jams and if you have lived your life well you will arrive on a Saturday when they have salad plate size donuts. We are currently working our way through the different varieties of breads (& donuts!) but the olive and cranberry walnut are particular favorites of ours. You can't go wrong with any of the donuts, they are huge and the flavors creative and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful, if you can't decide just ask them what they think, we haven't been led wrong yet. One trip to When Pigs Fly will have you falling back in love with carbs again.

Yelp
This bread will surely spice up any sandwich. Heck, I'd forgo the ham and cheese and just eat the stuff plain. The sights and smells of this small space are enough to have you buying every loaf in the cases. They'll also slice your loaf up right there for you! But sights and smells are surely not enough. You need some taste in this huge bread-buying decision, and fortunately these Piggies do not disappoint. They offer various samples at the counter from savory, chewy ciabatta to the sweet, raisin-ridden breakfast loaf. My personal faves have been the spicy pepper and the bread pudding. The prices are also super reasonable at around $5 each. Don't be aloof; grab a loaf!
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
Your diet may regret stopping by, but your tongue won't. The flavors, the textures, the aromas! Savory, sweet, spicy bread, on top of bread pudding, cookies, pretzels, doughnuts, oils, spreads, and all that stuff to accentuate the carby goodness. I don't even like banana bread or sweets but their maple walnut banana loaf is to die for. One little piece plus a cup of tea makes my day. But my favorite has got to be the baby spinach, onion and garlic ciabatta. The scent alone is divine. The service is great, you can grab some samples if you're too indecisive. I've tried their cookies and bread pudding cakes and weren't big fans of those (mainly because of the combination of ingredients), but they are certainly unique. Warning not to buy multiple loaves at once.. you will definitely binge eat the whole thing within a day or two.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Bread is good. They have vegan donut from union sq now.
google avatar

Olivia W.

Yelp
This little bread shop (emphasis on little) is nestled right in the heart of Davis square and can be easily overlooked between all the other food/drink options around, but you need to stop in. With all its charm, there are so many loaf options to choose from - there's definitely something to satisfy everyone. I tried the olive loaf and a soft pretzel - the olive loaf was delicious and lasted longer than a usual loaf from the supermarket does in my apartment (fresh-ness wise), but not much longer, because it was REALLY good. The soft pretzel wasn't anything special. For $4 it was a little disappointing, it was lacking in flavor or distinction of any kind. Honestly I'd rather invest in another loaf of bread. I'll definitely be back to try the chocolate loaf (!) and maybe a spread or two from the display on the wall.

SomBob B.

Yelp
I'm hooked on this company's bread. I usually get the 18 grain bread. If they're out, I'll get the Pumpkin seed bread. I get it sliced. They have savory breads, spicy breads, sweet breads. They usually have about 20 different types of bread at any one time. Enjoy!
google avatar

Sally B.

Yelp
This place is so good, it's dangerous. Their bread is out of this world - so many flavors and all for about $6 per loaf. My favorite is the mango pineapple but really you can't go wrong. Plus the company is great and donates excess bread to the charity I work with, sharing delicious carbs with the less fortunate in our community (because really, don't we all deserve delicious bread with our dinner?). Don't miss their gift card sales, where for a limited time every $25 gift card comes with a free loaf of bread (and thus you pre-pay yourself for tasty bread and can shop without guilt later).
google avatar

Jeanie N.

Yelp
I think their hours used to be roughly 7am-7pm, but now they're open later at 10am. Weird that a bread place / bakery is not open early in the morning? Not sure if they have ever baked their bread fresh on the premises, but it seems more obvious now that they don't. Last time I went, they opened 15 minutes late and the loaf I bought was pretty stale and grossly chewy. Not okay!!! 3 stars instead of 2 because I my loyalty is spilling over, but after I use all of my gift card, I don't think I will be coming back, sad face
google avatar

Yelp
Small shop with a great selection of unusual and traditional breads. Wednesdays special offer, sourdough loaf for $2. Tasters available.

Damien S.

Yelp
If I'm going to be claustrophobic, it might as well be in room of monstrous bread loaves. Holy shit, this store front is small. Like, room enough for you and a stick of butter. But WPF has what you need - a plexiglass L displaying three tiers of dense, delicious, baked-in-house breads. Chocolate, olive, red pepper hummus + sesame, rosemary and hot garlic oil, several fruit and nut breakfast breads... the list of specialty boules and such goes on, along with your standards (french, tuscan wheat, sourdough and a gaggle of rolls). Each loaf rings in between $4-6, with baguettes bottoming out at $3. Not terrible for tha freshness, but definitely a premium. Of course, after sampling one of everything (they always have hunks out for tasting), you'll be powerless to resist. Remember: fresh bread only lasts a few days, which means unless you're entertaining disciples, plan to freeze the leftovers. It thaws beautifully and toasts like a champ. Oh, and definitely try the Hot Honey they carry. New England bee vomit kicked up with vinegar and chilies. Sweet heat rules!

Yelp
Really great for breads! I've gotten a few breads here favorite of which are - rye, Tuscan, and their dinner rolls. All of these are very well priced and actually quite cheap for both quality and quantity. The staff is really great and really know their breads! You can get the loaves whole or slides - I recommend sliced - and no extra cost. I've also sampled their pretzels and these are sooo good - definitely will get an entire one at one point. The only thing I don't quite like from here are their cookies and their muffin like baked goods. The cookies are too hard and overall not that tasty. The muffin like baked goods are pretty much bread pudding and not exactly what I look for in a muffin. They are very dense and really heavy overall. I got the chocolate one and even though it was dense it wasn't really very chocolate-y and not extremely rich.

Yelp
There are two bread places you should go to in Boston/Cambridge: Iggy's and When Pigs Fly. Go to Iggy's for the savory bread/focaccia/traditional dinner table bread. Come to When Pigs Fly for fruity/sweet/exotic flavors. They have really fun flavors like blueberry with almonds and granola, cranberry and orange, chocolate (yes it's doable and it exists!), pumpkin and apple, and others. You won't find those combos anywhere else, and certainly of similar quality. Their loaves are HUGE, and lasts me months. I actually cut half and freeze and then eat the rest. The frozen ones taste just as good so the bread is magical! Their bread puddings are also a must try. A little too sweet, but it goes great with coffee/tea.

Yelp
I can't say enough about this bakery and restaurant. Went up on Friday stopped and had lunch. Left on Monday went and had lunch on the way home. Ham sandwich on focaccia, with goat cheese spread , apples , delicious . We bought 3 loaves of bread , and 2 pretzels. Pretzels were gone before we got home. If you are ever in Kittery, please go there. We had the pesto , chicken, and bacon pizza. To die for. We sometimes get up on Sunday and go there for lunch and come home. Worth the ride. Ridiculous flavors of bread. U have to eat them within 5 days or freeze them . No preservatives.. Take a ride......

Yelp
If you love bread, definitely check this place out! It has some of the best tasting bread I have ever had and they often have seasonal unique flavors. They can also slice the bread for you which is super helpful. Recently I got the Cider Donut loaf - omg delicious! I literally ate two slices of bread just by themselves before I even made it back to the T stop. I usually freeze some when I get home because otherwise I would eat the whole loaf by myself within a few days. A few nitpicks that aren't enough to bring this down to 4 stars but are worth mentioning: 1) The unique flavored loaves are $6 which is a bit on the pricier side for bread. So at least for me this isn't going to be a weekly bread stop. Probably best for my diet though. On the plus side, they do have bread samples and often will cut a piece of bread for you if you ask so you can try it before you buy it! 2) The customer service is meh. The people that worked there didn't seem particularly happy to be there and I felt like I was greatly burdening them by asking for samples. Oh well - I was only in there for 10 minutes anyway and it certainly didn't affect the taste of the bread! Can't wait to try their Thanksgiving loaf!

Yelp
Went there today great place ate in there Maine restaurant. Great sandwiches and then went next door to there bakery and bought great bread I love this place

Yelp
Great great great bread and awesome customer service. The employee who helped me was an individual with a beard (I believe his name was Sean), and he was so so so pleasant and helpful. He instantly greeted me when I walked in with a kind and exremely friendly greeting. I took a little bit deciding and then asked for his suggestions, and not only was he patient, but he was so informed and told me what I could pair with different kinds of bread. Not only was the bread he suggested delicious and perfect with what I made for dinner, but my interaction with him was awesome. When Pigs Fly has great products and an even greater employee in Sean. Will definitely be going there again and I hope to see Sean when I do, he brightened my day and truly provided me some of the best customer service I have had in a while!!

Yelp
We just found out that this bakery is here in Davis Square and will be stopping in more often! The bread is made fresh and smells wonderful as you enter the store. They carry dozens of loafs to choose from, and everything looks good. We grabbed some to give to a friend, and I picked up a chocolate bread loaf for myself. You have the option of getting it sliced as well. They also have fresh made pretzels and wonderful looking donuts that I will be checking out next time.

Yelp
Went in here yesterday to buy bread and left because the man working was so absolutely, unbelievably rude to all the customers. It was around 11AM, and he literally was trying to pick fights with customers. An old man asked a few simple questions, and anther person asked to sample the bread, and his responses were so hostile and rude. We left the line. I love When Pigs Fly Bread and use to frequent the Portsmouth and Newbuyport locations, but wow if this man is the owner he needs to close shop and if he is a worker he needs to be fired. Why be so miserable to customers for absolutely no reason, especially around the holidays?

Yelp
On a balmy winter Thursday morn Hunger's hints were slowly born For strolling and perusing tea Is not a glutton's apogee. Boyfriend had never been to "When Pigs Fly," Though he's got a baker's twinkle in his eye, So we stepped in to see and smell What bread perchance would nibbles quell. The first sight in this carby trove: A long array of hearty loaves Oaty honey and seeded rye (Did I spy a piglet in the sky?) Apple cinnamon's another flavor, And orange walnut cranberry's caught my favor; A panoply of creative doughs Keeping choices on their toes! German sourdough was calm and flat. We asked, why does it get like that? For we had tried our hand at starter But kept encountering oven-martyr: All would go well with bubbly yeast Portending soon a bready feast But after baking, to hope's demise The loaf had dozed, refused to rise. The cashier at the shop that day Shared some advice for sourdough play And then shared some samples, very yummy Prompting more selections for our tummy. The pretzel had a chewy grain Perfect for munching on the train With mustard as a spicy dip To complement our inbound trip. I'll return soon as I can Of this local bakery, I am a fan. I recommend "When Pigs Fly" To refill all your bread supplies!

Yelp
Excellent bread, baked daily, and served by friendly staff. I need to throw vastly more business at this place that I already do. Get the dinner rolls. Get them every day before dinner. You can get them with the change in your couch right now.

Yelp
Love their sundried tomato loaf and sourdough bread. You can get a large loaf of sourdough for only $2 every Wednesday-- seriously can't beat that. They have a range of savory and sweet breads that look promising. They also have spreads and select baked goods I'll go back to try sometime! The service is mediocre-- What I mean is, most of the times I've gone the staff member had head phones in and looked not too happy with his job. But, not enough of an issue for me to deduct a star.

Yelp
They come to Kendall Sq for the weekly farmer's market and I'm not sure if it's this location, but they send a rep to SoWa on the weekends, too. Bread is always baked fresh and they have numerous options of different flavors/styles of bread. The best part is that it's all very reasonably priced. I think it's between $5-6 for a loaf of bread that will last for a few days. All of the bread is hearty and perfectly soft, popping with flavors. The Bavarian pretzel is my go-to. $4 for a pretzel that is soft on the inside, slightly hard on the outside, and salted to perfection. It goes great with stone ground mustard and it keeps well while traveling from the farmers markets. Heat it up in the microwave for 30-45 seconds and it's good as new. Great price, awesome selections of products, freshly baked.

Yelp
I have been coming here for a few years, but I have never reviewed it. First and foremost, I want to thank the amazing When Pigs Fly customer service team in York, Maine. I lost a gift card and looked everywhere for it and couldn't find it. I was upset as I looked at is as wasted money, so I decided to call and after I gave the information to the customer service team, they said they would call me back. About an hour or two later I got my call and they told me they would hold the gift card. The overall experience was EXCELLENT and I give credit where credit it due. Now for the actual store and products, the people that tend shop here are always very pleasant and talkative and they will always give you a sample if you ask to try something so don't be afraid to speak up! The bread, the cookies and the bread pudding cake here are amazing. Very fresh and very tasty also completely natural. My personal favorites are the cranberry orange bread, my all time favorite, and then apple cider bread that just came around. Also, all of their cookies are amazing, but my favorite is the heath bar with the salted caramel coming in close second. Finally, I haven't had a bad bread pudding their either, but the best is the chocolate one. Finally, my only recommendation is that you freeze the bread if you don't plan on eating it in a couple of days or so. The bread is very fresh and has no preservatives so it can go stale quickly if you are not going to eat it fast then freeze it for later.

Yelp
I love When Pigs Fly breads. Their products are superior to those that you buy in the grocery stores or bakeries. The staff is super nice and knowledgeable about the products. My favorite are the 9 grain wild blueberries and the Baby Spinach, Onion and Garlic Ciabatta are my favorites. I often buy these and freeze half of each flavor. All you need is some good butter and sea salt if you want to keep it simple.
