Where There's Smoke Restaurant

Michelin stared foods at this lovely little restaurant in Masham. What a great experience - each dish was superb, well presented, with great attention to detail and wonderful flavours. The staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes and the restaurant is a really nice place to dine. If you're visiting Masham then WtS should be on your list of things to do. Enjoy the tours at the Theaskstons and Black Sheep breweries and round off the evening with some fine dining. Our thanks to manager John for making us feel welcome and for a lovely experience. Highly recommended and we're looking forward to returning soon.

We had an excellent meal here. The food was wonderful - excellent range of flavours that were really well balanced throughout each course. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has a lovely atmosphere. The chef clearly knows how to cook exceptionally well. If I had one suggestion for an improvement it would be the name. It suggests something serving lots of grilled or flame cooked food whereas this is high-quality fine dining with little evidence of 'smoke'. It really doesn't do justice to the great experience you get at the restaurant.

My partner and I had a wonderful evening at WTS, the tasting menu was delicious paired with a wine recommended by restaurant manager, John. All food served beautifully in pottery made by the head chef, Jon. We had the opportunity to thank Jon at the end of the evening too. Good food, excellent service, amazing attention to detail. This was a dining experience, not just a meal. We found the restaurant via the Michelin website, a well earned spot in their recommendations. We wish this restaurant every success!

Absolutely wonderful experience at WTS on Friday. The tasting menu is perfectly created, the flavours work brilliantly together and front of house staff couldn’t have been better. They went out of their way to make you comfortable and make it so enjoyable. Overall, faultless experience and would 100% recommend a visit.

Exceptional. Every dish excited us upon tasting. Rare to find something truly different. Service joyful. Charming touch to eat from pottery dishes & the wood table crafted by the chef himself. An underestimated delight. Thoroughly recommend. We will travel a long way to enjoy this visit again.

OMG What an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was outstanding and catered for my lactose intolerance. Loved the atmosphere , the decoration was beautiful . The staff were so attentative . Cannot fault anything and will definitely return . Thank you.
