The 38 Best Restaurants in Sydney, Australia | Eater

"Award-winning sommelier Bridget Raffal aimed to achieve gender parity on her wine list at Sixpenny, and it’s a goal she carried over to Where’s Nick. She showcases noteworthy female winemakers like Victoria Torres Pecis (who took over her family’s century-old winery in the Canary Islands) and Clare Burder (who has been highly transparent about how she produces her sparkling wine in Victoria’s Whitlands High Plateau). Raffal’s travels have influenced the menu too. Must-try dish: The must-order fava dip recalls a beloved smoky tavern in Athens that Raffal first visited years ago." - Lee Tran Lam

Fabulous end of year celebration at Where’s Nick yesterday. Drinks were sensational & food amazing, as always. The standout this time? The ridiculously simple potatoes with fermented chilli butter 🤩 Enjoy your well earned break 👏

Awesome little wine bar. Many wine by the glass to choose from, and the food was great value (tasty at reasonable prices). Service was friendly, and loved the pace at which the dishes were served at (one at a time).

Top tier wine bar and eatery; yes wine selections are awesome and even beyond my expectations the food was excellent so good. A true gem in marrickville. I’m not from the neighborhood but will be back more often for sure. Have a lovely chat with the staff and they will have some good suggestions on the wine choices. The food menu was not long but everything was on point so do come here with a full appetite and ready for a delicious feed and a couple of glasses of really nice grape juice.

A shout out to all the legends making the Inner West such a cool hub! Especially the legends at Where’s Nick Wine Bar. Run by Bridget and Harry, and fuelled by good vibes, good wine and good morsels! I love coming here. It feels modern but so warm and friendly. If you’re lucky enough to be served the loveliest Kiwi waitress, listen to what she says! She suggested three wines and they were all amazing! We had the lamb and the peppers along with the best bread. I was the Happiest little carb-loaded gal in all of Marrickville. It was my fourth visit. It won’t be my last. If you want good wine, yumminess, delightful humans and a great atmosphere, head on down to the place where the good times run free: Where’s Nick! 💓💓💓

Massive wine list that’s available to sample by the glass. Well curated menu that matches the choice of wine. Sommelier knows their stuff well and plenty old seating options.

An intimate wine bar set up with tables and a bar to sit at. Small food menu, large wine menu (as to be expected). I was surprised not to see fuller wines such as Malbec or Merlot, possibly the wine list changes. The menu has a little bit of everything. The anchovy and preserved lemon butter crostini was a standout. Perfectly balance of rich, salty, sour and sweet. The focaccia was dense and perfectly oiled. The grilled octopus was soft, tender and full of flavour, and combined with crispy potatoes was sensational. I thought the pickled eggplant was lacking in texture and flavour. Good service, would return to try different wines and food menu.

It was my third visit over the long weekend and I can safely say one of my favourite wine bars. We joined for the Hey Rosey collab and it was amazing. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable (and the winemaker was in attendance too), you can try many delicious and funky wines by the glass and the food is to die for - absolute banger!

Can't believe this is our first time sitting in at Where's Nick, we live just up the rd! Everything was perfect. Service was lovely and attentive. Special chicken thighs with lentils were delicious, focaccia was warm and crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle. Veal w anchovies, capers and yumminess, wow! Wine was really good too. We brought our dog and sat outside. Perfect evening. Only suggestion would be to have an ice bucket for the wine. We'll be back soon. Thank you!
