Where to Dine Solo Around D.C. | Eater DC

"Part art gallery, part wine bar, and part new American restaurant, it’s hard to group Whino into one dining category. While large parties a fairly common, a sizable portion of the restaurant is dedicated to an elongated bar and small high-tops. Take in whichever art show is currently on display and flip through an extensive drink menu. Throw back $4 oyster shooters, $7 wings, and $10 cocktails during a weekday happy hour that runs later than most (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.)." - Tierney Plumb

Whino, a Combination Gallery and Restaurant, Brings Street Art to Ballston - Eater DC

"The stark white kitchen at Whino is essentially the only part of the new Arlington art gallery/restaurant opening tomorrow that’s devoid of color. The hybrid establishment from gallery owner Shane Pomajambo is completely wrapped in mural installations, even on the ceilings. Whino’s executive chef Eleftherios (Terry) Natas takes a similarly creative approach with the menu, which focuses on 'social plates' designed for sharing. The massive, 6,200-square-foot fixture joins the growing Ballston Quarter complex on Friday, June 18, complete with an impressive 360-degree backdrop for its diners and art show attendees to enjoy." - Adele Chapin

The event venue is super unique and the food is wonderful, full of style and flavor. The dishes are globally inspired and I tell you it's hard to find a place like this here . A great option for those looking to host an event or just have a good time w good food/drinks here in Arlington. p.s.: I'm a local fan.

My friend and I recently went here for her bday. What a fun atmosphere as I love art, and been wanting to taste their menu items. We went during happy hour, and the food was absolutely excellent! I am not a fan of oysters, but oh my their sauce was so delicious that I ordered more! Everything we ordered other than the vegetable chips were tasty! Customer service was impressive! Would recommend this place and look forward to our next visit to savor different menu items.

Love this place. It’s a big restaurant, with a Cool chill vibe that includes Artwork for display and purchase. The wine list is extensive and great. The food is even better. Love the service (at the bar) . Must go rating!

Google
We enjoyed dinner and dancing at "Whino". The food was fairly good. Drinks were nice as well. Service was excellent. However..... The part we didn't like was a mandatory 20% gratuity tip that was put on our bill because it was an event. They charged extra to anyone that ordered food but never explained this before we ordered. We were only a party of 2 people which made no sense why we would pay extra just because of the venue. Mind you the venue wasn't free. We paid money just to enter. I felt cheated because they are just bleeding you out for money at this point. I mentioned this to the establishment and they stood by the extra fee. I won't be going back. My rating is 1.5 out of 5.

Google
I have had the pleasure of dining here a few times. It is mostly shareable small plates. The prices aren’t too bad themselves. At night time, there is a DJ who played some really good music. There are also art works to check out. I loved the vibe and the atmosphere here. Taste-wise, the food was good as well. They give you a decent portion so that you can truly share it. I would definitely dine again!

Google
My low rating was for the food. Nothing I ate or saw on the menu was amazing, but I’d return for happy hour and the great service! We came here for our team holiday dinner and the servers/atmosphere were great! The food didn’t do it for me, but everyone that works here is super sweet. They went above and beyond to provide us great service, and it was appreciated. We will definitely be back for happy hour!

Google
This restaurant was very elegant Lee decorated. There were a bunch of art pieces hung up that were very abstract, modern at the same time. We sat at a round table very comfortably the view was very nice. DJ Gonzo was playing music which really set up the atmosphere vibe my 19-year-old daughter and I enjoyed our brunch date we will be returning because the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was very fun and not overly too loud With the music choices and really liked the attention of the waitresses that were walking around checking up on us constantly.

Yelp
Decided to have dinner last night with friends at Whino! Food and drinks were pretty good but service was average--I wasn't impressed. We ordered one of their shareable punches (highly recommend it!) and a bottle of prosecco rose since it was $10 off any sparkling wine last night. I definitely going during happy hour or whenever they have discounted rates as food and beverages are quite pricey here. As for our food, we ordered quite a few dishes. I liked the wagyu beef sliders (an order only comes with 2), spiced fried chicken and the tuna charred shareable dishes were my favorite. We did a few other dishes too like the spinach fried balls and a mango habanero flatbread that were pretty tasty. The space is nice, conveniently located in the mall on the second floor. What I did not enjoy was the fact they did not notify their customers of a private event. It was so crowded last night and the music was so loud, it was not very enjoyable. I feel for future events, they really should just close their space for the event.

Yelp
If you are in Arlington, you have to try this place!!! A really cool place to hold events and the food/drinks are wonderful!!

Yelp
Saturday night... love the ambiance, music, vibe and art inside the restaurant. Very diverse menu and very good food. The ceviche was fresh and delectable! Unfortunately, the service was pretty slow. Would've been a 5 star experience if the service was faster.

Yelp
Stopped by for happy hour with a group of 6 ladies on a Friday night around 5:15. It was already pretty crowded but we found space at the bar and were promptly given water and menus. A few of us had wine, which was good. A few tried the cocktails, my friend who had the "sugar, spice and everything nice" cocktail said it was overwhelmingly sweet (I could've guessed from the name). Unfortunately, they were closing at 7 for a private event (tis the season) so we couldn't stay for dinner. We tried the Brussels sprouts, Korean BBQ wings, and the shishito pepper's appetizers. All were great, especially the sprouts. I look forward to going back for dinner. Service was good, no complaints besides the fact that they were closing early and I'd been on their website ans IG prior to arriving and saw no mention of it (not the servers fault!)

Yelp
Whino is such a unique spot that combines great food with a truly cool vibe! The art displays throughout the space are stunning--they give the place an artsy, modern feel. The papas bravas were the highlight of our meal. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right. Between the amazing ambiance and the tasty food, Whino is a place I'd definitely recommend!

Yelp
Late night visit. Outstanding small plates and wine assortment. Will definitely revisit when in Arlington.

Yelp
Great place for huge parties or corporate events. Great food. I love the sliders and veggie fries appetizers. Plenty of garage parking and located on the top floor.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely bar and restaurant. Fun and interesting art was hung throughout with some displays near the front that captivated a lot of attention. The happy hour is for an incredibly generous amount of time and the location in the ballston mall is perfect with a nice view outside. The happy hour food options were really fun. We tried the wings with Gochujang were incredible and the grilled shishito peppers complimented the wings and drinks perfectly. This was a fun one for a post work hangout and I will be back!

Yelp
Looking for a place with great food nice service ambience is perfect for a date night or girls night out. Here's your place and then you're surrounded by beautiful art. I honestly can't wait to come back and try some more delicious food experience some live entertainment with Art a must try at least every other month

Yelp
Whino provided an upscale, hipster tapas experience. There were a few standout dishes but other that weren't worth the price. The service was good although they were a little busy and didn't stop to check on us much. I loved the gnocchi. The texture was perfect, and the sauce complemented it beautifully. It was definitely the highlight of the meal. The papas bravado was a pleasant surprise. With many thin layers of potato, it was like a potato croissant. Delightfully crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The Brussels sprouts were good, nicely roasted with a satisfying crunch and a balanced flavor. The tuna tartare (which was recommended by the waiter) was flavorful but too salty for my taste. I didn't like the avocado accompaniment--it tasted overripe and too smoky. I would have preferred bread instead of chips to dip. The charcuterie was good, with a nice selection of meats and cheeses, but I wished the portion size was a little bigger. The drink was refreshing but unfortunately was mostly of ice. Overall, the meal had its highlights, but there were a few areas for improvement.

Yelp
Great drinks, great staff, great (although somewhat curious) food. I came here for an after work get together with a bunch of coworkers. Despite there being so many of us, the bartenders were so friendly and were able to get us all liabated quickly. We ordered a number of food items, but the sliders were by far my favorite. I was a bit confused when one of my co-workers mentioned that they had some chocolate covered chicken wings. I thought maybe he had had one too many but, sure enough, there were 'chocolate raspberry chicken wings covered with peanuts' on the menu. That's certainly... A choice. Not feeling particularly adventurous that day, I politely passed on those. The bartenders made me some fantastic Old Fashioneds. What I really appreciate it was that throughout the course of the night, they were consistently excellent, regardless of which bartender made them. Later in the evening, I was having a conversation with a co-worker about Spanish wines and how they're not my favorite. He was waxing poetic about tempranillos and I decided to give one a try. I might have to walk back some of my Spanish wine slander because that was a really great glass of wine! It's a little difficult to find this place because there's no signage inside or outside the mall that tells you how to get there (the venue is on the second floor of Ballston Commons). A bunch of us wandered around until we finally found the venue. If there's any feedback to offer, it's to add more signage so that people know how to find this place!

Yelp
I cannot get over this awesome brunch deal! I think the plates are designed to be small plates but they can easily be a light meal. We ordered a carafe of mimosas and each had a $9 brunch plate. I got French toast! And I think we each ended up spending about $15 for a delicious light meal. The ambiance is artsy and fun. And the service was very pleasant. I have been here a few times now, and I continue to recommend this as the place to go in Ballston!
google avatar

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place enough. They have a really large drink selection, including four mocktails which were very yummy. I'm planning to return for some of their flight options. The service was super nice and just the right amount of attentive. We ordered the steak bao buns, the mushroom ragout, the fried veggies strips, and maple something wings. All was delicious. They have an art theme and had original art for sale hanging which gave really cool vibes. Looking forward to returning! I made a reservation for a group happy hour and they set aside really nice space for us so I would also recommend it if you need to host a group event.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere, especially with the artwork and the views! Sat at the bar and got the spiced hibiscus, swapped out the vodka for whiskey and it was so good!! The bartender was helpful and checked in every so often, which is always a plus. I'd love to come back for happy hour or dinner and see Whino in action.

Yelp
I visited for happy hour and tried the 'Want Some Candy' cocktail along with the wagyu slider. The slider was decent, but I didn't expect an $8 item, even if it's wagyu, to be half the size of my palm. The cocktail was refreshing but lacked a bit of flavor--it tasted like watered-down watermelon. They added an automatic 20% gratuity to my tab for some reason. However, the interior is beautifully designed, and the ambiance is pleasant.

Yelp
Stopped in for happy hour and had a great experience! I ordered the two reds off the happy hour menu (and thoroughly enjoyed them) and shared the fried veggies and Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were to die for and the fried veggies were good (though I understood them to be tempura like, but they were really like chips). We also had a super kind server. I'll definitely return!

Yelp
A nice quiet evening, everyone was very nice. My roommates and i only came for espresso martinis but they were really well made. I am picky about my espresso martinis but these were made well. Only comment would be the first round were a little on the low end in terms of being filled up (ex bartender here) but the second round were perfect. Highly recommend. Who I assume is the manager also stopped by multiple times to make sure we were good which was very nice. I will have to come back and try out the food!

Yelp
Love the decor and ambiance, minus the live band. Live bands shouldn't be in enclosed places. It got too loud for my party of 4 to hear each other. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the art and am looking forward to seeing the next featured artist. I also enjoyed my cocktail, the Queen's Garden and Weekend Getaway. Service was average. Curious to see what the place is like when they're not hosting a birthday party or a live band.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
The place looked empty for Thursday night at 6:30 PM but then Insaw how big the place was! There was a group event in the front of the house, but the back was wide open. Happy hour service at the bar was great. We had the shishito peppers (large serving and great spice) and charcuterie (smaller than we hoped). Great bartending service and wine pairing suggestions were on point.

Yelp
This was my first time trying out Whino and it won't be the last! From the local artwork displayed, to the live band, amazing food and drinks, my evening far exceeded my expectations. Walking in, I was immediately greeted and seated close to the stage so I could enjoy the band. Service was good, my food came out fairly fast. I'll have to come back on a Friday night, Saturday was a bit quiet but I still enjoyed the vibes. Chili glazed Brussel sprouts: 10/10 the spice to sweetness ratio was very balanced Polenta tots: 10/10, these were the star of the show, I only wish you got more ‍ Artichoke gnocchi: 6/10: this dish lacked seasoning but had potential. Maybe if they had other vegetables to amplify the flavor profile Overall, I will go back! Oh yes, there's also a parking garage too, I took Uber so I can't speak on how the garage is set up, etc.

Yelp
I love the idea of a combined art/music and food/drink establishment, and Art Whino makes it work in a really fun and balanced way. I was drawn in by the promise of enjoying artwork and conversation with a friend over drinks, and the experience was just what I hoped for. It's a large space with a bar winding towards the back as you enter, an art viewing and purchase space to the right and in the center, a space for performances in the middle to the far right, and the seating area with tables low and high in the back half of the space. My friend and I grabbed a high table by the windows, and I made sure to get the seat that let me look past him to the sectional walls covered in colorful paintings. The service was great, very attentive. We only got drinks, and I made the mistake of getting a Seedlip-based cocktail for the last time - NEVER AGAIN. I should have gotten a glass of wine like my friend did (which he enjoyed). I'll know better for next time, and next time I want to experience one of the EDM shows too. Not the kind of establishment that I ever would have thought I could find in a mall! Such a great convenient spot too, can't wait to return.

Yelp
Came here with my happy hour group for happy hour. They had a decent size drink menu and about 20 food items on their menu. Their food is good but expect small portions for some items (slider, oyster shot, etc). We also ordered the mushroom ragot and was not a fan of it. Definitely not what we expected it to be or taste like. Over food and drinks were good. Service was really good.

Yelp
I am *really* torn on how to write this review. Most things here--the food, the drinks, and the service--were disappointing and would probably have given it a 2-star review. But one food item was so amazing that I am literally still craving it and about half of the food overall was pretty good, so I'm bumping it up a star due to the promise for better. The vibe was also trendy and artsy and fun. First of all, the service: our waiter was super nice but he only showed up to our table every 20 minutes or so--including his first time coming to greet us and take our drink order!--so our dinner was extremely long and we were constantly in need of something but no ability to find him. Second, the drinks: I started with the Gold Digger, but it was honestly one of the grossest drinks I've had in a long time--it tasted like a super syrup-y off-brand Coke. I didn't finish even half of it but they didn't take it off my bill. I then ordered a white wine flight, and that was so much better, I was really happy with it. Finally, the food: the oysters shooters were super light and flavorful and we were very pleased with them. The raw tuna was also *excellent.* And the secret spiced fried chicken was TO. DIE. FOR. This is what I'm still dreaming about. The fried veggie strips were ok, just like what you'd get out of a chip bag at the grocery store. The ricotta gnocchi I thought would be hard to mess up, but it was just kind of bland and ok. The roasted carrots were fine, but the hummus was kind of dry and there wasn't enough. I would have liked to try some other things on the menu, and also to come back for the raw tuna and fried chicken again....but everything else has me so "meh" that I probably won't prioritize coming back.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE FOOD, ART & MUSIC: Whino is an amazing place in the evenings. The chefs here are the real deal. Expect well executed creative dishes. The small plates are works of food art. But don't expect to eat cheap. They act as an art gallery for talented local artists. Additionally, the decor here is colorful, lively, and inspired. Finally, they have a schedule of events here worth checking out. When I went there was a top rate jazzy funky instrumental band playing which was terrific. Amazing show for zero cover charge. I look forward to going back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Relaxed small plates and tasty cocktails. The restaurant is located on the second floor, with ample signage in the windows to help you locate the restaurant if you know to look up. The small plates vary in size, some are very small and others larger. We enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts and Fried Chicken. The Pine Sazerac was memorable. The staff is attentive and helpful.

Yelp
Definitely one of the trendier looking places in this area. I've been here twice now and the food and drinks were pretty consistent. I liked how the waiter knew what dishes to suggest, We ordered a bunch of different dishes which included chicken wings, sliders, Brussels sprouts, chicken and grits, and a fish ceviche type of dish. Everything tasted great however my favorite definitely was the Brussels sprouts as well as the chicken and grits. Normally I'm not a big chicken eater but their chicken was very tender. Overall a great experience. If your looking for a roomy place, good food, and a different scene then this might be a place for you.

Yelp
to start I would say it's definitely worth going for the vibes, but my friends and I thought the food and drinks were relatively average! the restaurant being mixed with an art exhibit is so cool and fun!! for drinks my friends got the mercury's in retrograde and paint the town red - they said their drinks were just ok but nothing they would be running back to get again. for food, the portions were like shareable plates so we got the falafel gyro, roasted squash and coconut red curry, polenta papas bravas, ricotta gnocchi, and secret spiced fried chicken. I personally loved the squash and coconut red curry - it was a bit on the spicier side but the flavors were phenomenal and it's definitely a dish I'd recommend. my friends and I didn't really love the patatas bravas - they were also very small as one dish comes out with 4 very tiny pieces but it was definitely not a table favorite! the chicken was also so good, and the grits were really great as well - another dish I'd recommend if you decide to come check it out. I'd say our service was pretty decent, we had a lot of waiting time to place our order for drinks and food but our waitress was very kind! they don't have parking but there is the mall parking garage that's in the building of where whino is located that does $1 for the first 3 hours you are there.

Yelp
LOVE the concept! Art and cocktails. They even encourage you to walk around with your cocktail and look at the artwork. The drinks here are good. There was a live DJ when we went, but they also get live bands. GET THE POLENTA!! So good! Only two "gripes". 1) I asked which cocktail had the best presentation so I could feature it on my food blog on Instagram. They suggested a pretty one, but there was one that came out to another table after we got our cocktails that had a smoke presentation. Come on, server. THAT'S what I'm talking about! lol 2) The potatoes were BLAND! I mean, ZERO flavor. They're in duck fat. How do we mess that up? :) But the polenta made up for it. Overall, I'd still go back to this place and would recommend it to others.

Yelp
Here's what great Drinks , options for everyone even non-drinkers ! Menu is super extensive with wine flights to tequila and whiskey flights ! Atmosphere, the artwork around the restaurant and the bar area is perfect setting for a girls night or date night spot! I only tried one dish which was just okay , but another friend said she loved their brunch so I will definitely come back to check it out! Check their social media for the various events they have during the week. Their calendar of events is full of variety and definitely something for everyone

Yelp
Great brunch in Ballston! Whino has a nice, cozy atmosphere for a chill brunch. We stopped by and were immediately seated without having made reservations in advance. The restaurant wasn't super busy during this time. The brunch menu is small places for $9 and meant for sharing, however I found the portions to be substantial enough that you only need one plate per person. We tried the Whino Deluxe and the French Toast. The Whino deluxe cheddar biscuit is delicious. The French toast is also really nice and the vanilla maple syrup cream is delicious. I also had the French press coffee. It was alright. Overall a great brunch experience and I'd definitely come back for the food.

Yelp
Date night is a must even with busy nonstop schedules ran now by our two young guys. Pedicures and dinner were the perfect combination for tired parents who wanted to relax and catch up. Whino is a vibe, an art gallery and restaurant all in one with a late happy hour until 8pm. They encourage you to walk around and enjoy the art while waiting for your meal. You can even make it a game and see how many rappers and hip hop artist you recognize in the artwork. I was proud of myself for knowing just about everyone. Our server was friendly, attentive and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy customers. Although I'm usually not a fan of small plates the portion sizes were just enough and very tasty. It's restaurant week this week so be sure to stop by to try a variety of menu options, or to enjoy the late happy hour and art gallery. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Located in the Ballston Mall, you can either opt to do street parking if you can find it or park in the garage. It's $1 if you're there for under 3 hours. I love the ambiance, it has this modern, arty kind of upscale vibe. Our server was great but seemed overwhelmed. It wasn't too busy but both our food and drinks did take long periods of time to come out. I ordered the Prosecco Rose which was very good. We were still in time for happy hour which was nice. They have an extended happy hour until 8 PM. We started off with a charcuterie board with some Wild Boar Lonza and Waygu Beef Bresaolo. We paired it with the Truffle Tremor cheese. It came out with some Toasted cranberry bread and it was pretty good. They were unfortunately out of the Scallops so we didn't get to try that. We ordered the porchetta Sliders which was ok. Almost all of it was delicious but the "crispy pork skin" as a really really tough skin and not at all crispy. It was really hard to bite into. Almost an overcooked thin piece of jerky. We also had the Spicy broccoli Rabe which was decent and the Mango Habanero Wings. The wings were cooked well but unfortunately didn't really have any flavor. It wasn't really spicy and very limited Mango flavoring. Finally, we ordered the Seafood Socarrat which was interesting. I don't think the seafood was fresh and the rice was kind of crispy but I enjoyed the flavor. For our dessert, we chose the olive oil doughnuts and the espresso gelato. Gelato was delicious. The doughnut balls were dense but ok with the gelato. Overall, I think i would come to hang out at the bar but not sure if I would really return for the food otherwise.

Yelp
Have been here twice now -- it's a spot near work and one of the few wine centric places in the area. No real complaints, and service is always pretty spot on in terms of friendliness and promptness. We got their "tower" of old fashioned to try it out. Seemed to just be deconstructed drinks, smoked, on two separate plates. Could've been worse. Not a bad spot, and some art for kicks.

Lainie F.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and the bartender was lovely! The food was underwhelming though. When the waiter brought over the charcuterie, he touched each item on the board when explaining what they were which is a bit odd. The two cured meats we ordered had salt bloom/salt crystallization which isn't harmful but makes the meat really tough and hard to eat and therefore not worth how pricey the charcuterie board is. One of the red wines was oxidized and was sour. We went with the other red so definitely not a terrible situation but not great for a wine bar.
google avatar

Koyel B.

Yelp
The food is pretty good, but the service is quite bad. My waiter asked if I wanted ketchup with my sliders, and I said yes. Ten minutes later, my sliders were cold, but the ketchup still hadn't arrived. I had to ask again before finally arrived another five minutes later. I also asked for a drink that didn't arrive for 15 minutes (the dining room was pretty empty, so it's not like they were busy), and when I asked about it, the waiter said it hadn't even been put in! Also, there was a mouse in the dining room, so who knows what's going on healthwise in the kitchen.

Yelp
Such a fun restaurant located in the Ballston Quarter mall, across from Macy's. Park on the third floor in the parking garage and you'll walk straight in on the same floor. They feature an art gallery with rotating pieces and large, vibrant murals on their walls and ceilings. A super modern space, where you feel like your in a loft with their high ceilings and comfy chairs. I liked that a lot of their dishes are sharable portions, forcing you to try more dishes and socialize with those you came with. I'm a big fan of family style and sharing food with friends and family. Their food fuses together American and international flavors, while specializing in craft cocktails, beer, and wine. I ended up ordering their ricotta gnocchi. I loved the brown butter and sage sauce. The roasted pumpkin squash was great, especially drizzled with truffle oil. The polenta patatas bravas were a bit too thick for my liking. I found them a bit dry and lacking in flavor but I should've asked for extra spicy aioli which could've helped. Service was amazing. The bartenders were knowledgeable and quick with the pouring. Servers were attentive and frequently checked in on us. I will be back for happy hour and sit at the bar for sure! Pro tip: Check out their website for their upcoming events and live music. I LOVE that they support a bunch of local artists and vendors.

Yelp
Where do I start... The serving sizes for happy hour and the regular menu are not worth it. One slider, 4 wings. The wings were not grilled well, the burger was pink, the donuts were disgusting. It took them forever to bring us napkins and silverware. The chicken and grits was ok. Probably the most fulfilling menu item. Brussels sprouts were decent. Gelato isn't hard to mess up. The best thing was my drink. They don't have any sides or bar bites. They need to regroup and rethink their menu. It was so disappointing. I was considering hosting an event here but nothing is appealing.

Yelp
Solid spot for a nice dinner in Ballston with a large menu, several happy hour offerings and good wine options. They also have beer and craftt cocktails in a semi-open kitchen setting. Comfy seats, large space, and you can look out over Wilson Blvd or sit at a huge long bar. We did happy hour food and it was tasty! Loved the pineapple cilantro wings, and the brussels sprouts were crispy and cooked well. Wings were really meaty and 8 were more than filling enough. The wagyu burger/slider was fine, but honestly it was just a burger. Nothing super special so check your expectations despite the wagyu description. We had a lovely night with friendly and attentive service. Was able to taste a few wines before committing which was nice. There is a small art display at the front so it is a mixed use space. On a busy night it could get really loud as the decor is a lot of concrete with high loft-style exposed ceilings.

Yelp
Drinks never disappoint here! Had a great time catching up with a friend at the bar. Didn't grab any food this time but saw some great dishes go by!

Yelp
Back again for Happy Hour. Their HH is a great deal and goes until 8pm. Had the skate which was ok. The gyro was delicious and porchetta ALSS good as I remembered. My friend also got the beet salad off the regular menu and she loved it. Cocktails yummy- $8 on HH menu. Love this place. Atmosphere is so inviting. Lighting is flattering. One tends to stay longer than planned. Patrick, the manager, is always gracious. Service is good.

Yelp
I'm so glad I came to visit this place! The atmosphere was great. The decor was amazing as well as the customer service. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender. She gave me recommendations on drinks and food, was very attentive and just all around great energy. If you're a whiskey drinker you would love this place! They are open late so if you're looking for live music or a DJ then I suggest coming later in the evening. For food: Courtesy of Yelp, we were able yo try the cheesy polenta for free! This was my first time having this dish and although It wasn't nasty, it's not something I would buy on the regular. It reminded me of a tater tot. We tried the gyro and It was really good, very flavorful. The potatoes were just basic, nothing to rave about. The Caesar salad was good. I also tried the chicken and grits. I highly recommend this dish! The chicken was amazing!!! The biscuit was was hard and dry(not sure if that's how It should have been). The grits were cheesy and very light. For drinks: I tried a drink that had apple juice and whiskey. It was really good and sweet if that's what you like. I ended up ordering my usual Old Fashioned and that was really good as well. I will definitely come back to try a few more dishes and to just hang out. This place is located inside Ballston mall so there are plenty of things to do.

Yelp
Little on the expensive side and their tapas are incredibly small (and I've been to many tapas places for comparison), but it is a very cool place to hang out with friends, drink yummy cocktails and get the whole underground art gallery experience at once. What a gem in Ballston!

Yelp
Went here for the first time just for drinks and loved the ambiance of the restaurant and that it's an art gallery. I decided to make reservations here for my birthday dinner with my party of 11 a few weeks after my first visit. Not only are the drinks good, but so is the food! I was blown away by the brussel sprouts and highly recommend it! I also ordered the mushroom ragout and that was tasty as well. Service was great overall!

Yelp
Really underwhelming food. We came here on a Saturday night for food and drinks and it was dead! Super quiet inside, no real buzz or atmosphere. Our server was lovely but the food was very generic and many dishes were very small for the price. We had the beef slider, it was just fine, extremely greasy though. The chicken wings were very disappointing. We got Korean bbq- no crisp to them, sauce was all sweet- no other taste. The polenta patatas were an odd consistency, not great flavor. The fried chicken was all breading and no chicken. Very mediocre food all round. We didn't finish many dishes and the server never commented on this. I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't return.

Yelp
A solid spot for just about any occasion! We decided to try this place out for a Friday date night. Grabbed a quick reservation, were met with quick service, great service too, a perfect variety on the menu, yummy dishes, and very reasonable prices! I would absolutely recommend the happy hour too.
