"Plano-based restaurant heavily-in-Texas chain Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar is opening its first Austin-area location this week. The new restaurant will be in Round Rock at 2600 North I-35 starting on Tuesday, September 13. The Texas-American menu is served for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, with dishes like goat cheese fondue, candied bacon, chicken tenders and malted waffles, burgers, croque-madames, carrot cake pancakes, and the namesake whiskey cake, a stick toffee cake with a bourbon crème anglaise, spiced pecans, and whipped cream. Today was our first time here at Whiskey Cake. The service was topnotch, and our server was very attentive and patient as we decided on our food. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was superb. From the deviled eggs to the duck wings to the shrimp and grits, it was all flavorful.

I found Whiskey Cake while just looking for places to have a nice Saturday Brunch because it's honestly hard to find! We made reservations online and I'm so glad we did because it was PACKED. After having brunch though, I understand the hype. We started with the mimosa, then had a few other things but the star of the show was the crazy good french toast. I have never seen such a thing of beauty. We started looking around and noticing everyone was having their signature whiskey cake... we knew we had to try some. It is like nothing I have ever had and a reason to go there itself. I will definitely be coming back for another meal soon!

This place used to be the Mellow Mushroom, which we rocked for pizza a few times. When it changed to Whiskey Cake, we would just drive by it and not really think to try it... until tonight! I helped my friend do some work tonight, and he treated me to dinner here. Man, have I been missing out! They have almost everything. Chicken & Waffles, burgers, pork, salads, yummy apps/snacks, all kinds of chicken dishes, and more. I had the Tavern burger, which was amazing! We had an awesome waitress, Alissa. I am definitely coming back here soon with my wife for a date night!

One of the nearest locations of this chain restaurant. I first experienced whisky cake at one of its Dallas area locations. We had the pleasure of being served by Paige. Wonderfully kind, great personality and fun person. She provided absolutely great recommendations as we requested based on her taste. She guided me to the pork ribs which are no longer on the menu so I had one of the last plates. The ribs were amazing and I am surprised they were being removed. The Mac and cheese had a bread crumble and was yummy. Compared to the Dallas location...I am so glad we had a reservation. It was slammed. Great vibe and will go back.

This is long overdue but we've been to Whiskey Cake many times and for good reason! The brunch menu is outstanding has something for everyone, even vegetarians! Their seasonal deviled eggs are my favorite, always delicious! A must if you're looking for a good Happy Hour. Lastly, the entire staff has always been great but Ashley is THE BEST! I highly recommend asking to be in her section!

We came here yesterday for brunch and it was absolutely delicious. We arrived around 11am and were seated immediately at a booth. My boyfriend’s favorite drink is an Old Fashioned so when he saw the drink menu he was in heaven. He ordered the American Pie Old Fashioned and shrimp and grits. I ordered the non-alcoholic Ruby Slippers drink and the farmer’s breakfast. Everything was so good. What really stood out to me was the bacon. It was thick, sweet, and peppery. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I’m going to come back for dinner.

We had a wonderful lunch. We had the brussel sprouts, and then the rigatoni with a side of the vegetables which paired really well together and to finish it off we had the whiskey cake for dessert. Everything was fantastic! Service was exceptional too! We will be back!

The food was great along with the service and atmosphere, but I personally like Moonshine better. **My fiance believes the food is better than Moonshine at a higher price, and they do not have popcorn (loves popcorn) or anything to share at the table when you first sit down.
