Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a couple of drinks and found the perfect spot at the bar. The atmosphere is warm and inviting without being too crowded. I ordered an Old Fashioned—perfectly balanced, though I did miss having a cherry. My husband sampled a couple of bourbons—not cheap, but not overly pricey either—and enjoyed each one. They also offer whiskey flights, which is a fun option for anyone wanting to try something new. Great drinks, friendly vibe, and a place we’d happily return to for a relaxed afternoon.

There were plenty of parking spaces available. The whole restaurant, outside and inside has a sweet home relaxed environment. The service was attentive, friendly and the waitress didn't miss a beat. She was so prompt that we didn't have to ask for a single drink refill, a to-go box or even the bill. She kept us informed on our drinks and plates, poured out water for us and everything was beautifully presented to us. The food was beyond delicious and was freshly made! The mixed drinks were smooth, mixed well and tasted as delicious as the food. We definitely enjoyed ourselves!

Five stars without a doubt. The chicken and waffles were the best I’ve ever had—crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I also tried the short stack of pancakes with strawberries and lemon crumble, and they were absolutely amazing. Everything was so well priced for how delicious it was. Our waiter Jacob was awesome. He was super attentive, really knew the menu, and made sure everything came out fast and fresh. The whole experience was just great from start to finish. Whiskey Cake in Round Rock definitely lived up to the hype. I’ll be dreaming about that brunch for a while.

Went to happy hour with friends. Bartenders were the best! Each one was willing to take care of you and make a drink of choice. My raspberry pineapple margarita was delish! The strawberry mojito is yummy! Food was great, prices were good! We had the meat and cheese plate, turkey chili with corn chips and potatoes. Will return soon for another treat!

These guys were so personable and we had the BEST drinks here. Hands down one of the best selections in town. Food was great, excellent staff recommendations. They were even kind enough to educate us on some selections and tips for our own bar!

Went for brunch. Atmosphere is great and decor is spectacular. No detail missed - down to the bathrooms. The food was very fresh, flavorful, and plated superbly. Appetizer was a candied bacon BLT toast… overall delicious, didn’t care for the marinated tomato’s on it… I’m just not a fan of vinegar marinating.. but still very good overall. The crab Benedict was also very delicious. Cooked to perfection. Although the chili Hollandaise sauce was quite a bit spicier than I anticipated. Wasn’t too much spice or overbearing in any way, I was just expecting a milder spice. It came with a fruit cup on the side, usually the fruit cup in a restaurant is an afterthought and not given much attention. But this fruit was super fresh and was cut perfectly and great proportions of different fruits and was garnished with a fresh basil on top (I don’t like basil, but appreciated the attention to elevate the side). Service was impeccable. Only “complaint” (for lack of a better word) was that my meal came out way too fast right after my appetizer… barely got one bite into appetizer before the meal was there, which got cold before I could get into it. For a higher end establishment like this where every detail is thought of, I just thought it was a bit sloppy on the timing side of things. Not a huge deal, just pointing it out.

First time visit for my wife and I. Sensational experience. Hand-crafted drinks, attentive staff and flavorful apps and entrees. We loved the atmosphere and vibe. The smoked Old Fashioned was one highlight! Kudos to Robert Saye, the Beverage Manager and John our mixologist/bartender. Both were were engaging, knowledgeable and phenomenal hosts. Highly recommend this bar/restaurant.

This is one of my favorite places to eat and was excited to find this 15 minutes away from Kalahari Resort and convention center. Reservations recommended but not required. My husband loves old fashions and they had a special of flights to try (july 2025). We always get whatever deviled eggs they have for the month and fried green tomatoes for appetizers. My son and husband had the French onion burger which is so good and they both finished. My daughter couldnt finish the tavern burger (its a big burger) and I ordered a side of brussel sprouts and made the kids pay me in french fries. You must leave room for whiskey cake of course! The serving sizes are plenty and shareable.
