11 Dallas-Area Spots Serving Great Outdoor Cocktails | Eater

"Whiskey Garden is more than just an homage to the brown stuff. The hopping pool-bar is perhaps best known as a rowdy party spot where you can enjoy your favorite drink with a dip in the bar’s centerpiece, a saltwater pool. Still, there’s some sophisticated stuff happening here, too, that doesn’t involve the namesake booze. Head to the pool bar for the energizing Watermelon Basil Freeze, made with Grey Goose Essences Watermelon & Basil, tart margarita mix, and mojito syrup." - Vox Creative

Nice place. Nice crowd! Good looking people everywhere. Excellent DJ (J Romero) Strong 💪 recommended! You have to check it out!

Tracy Heslink

Google
Love the location and venue but the "deck" over the pool gets a little scary when lots of people are on it and it's definitely not high heel friendly. Other than that, great place, lots of room and excellent bartenders!!

Dom A

Google
Whiskey Garden caught me by surprise, I wasn’t sure how I was going to enjoy it. When I arrived I was surprised by the great atmosphere of the poolside bars and the great balcony for the DJ. If it gets hot you can always go inside and the AC is great. Decent priced drinks and always a decent group of people there. However, there was an overwhelming sense of police force there. Constantly had one cop walking around the entire time and had one at the entrance. Other than that I recommend it for a decent start to your night out.

Google
Really cool place, great bartenders, great drinks, fun and energetic vibe, great people and DJs play good music.

Google
Cool bar with friendly staff and a pool on the patio! The Sundaze parties here every other Sunday have been fantastic all summer. Friendly people and good tunes!

Google
This is my favorite bar on w 7th. They have a huge venue and the staff is on point. Really enjoy the food they have and they have the absolute best events. Will stop here everytime I’m in ft worth.

There's a taco guy that sells the BEST brisket tacos I've ever had in my life!! (Cash only)Be SURE to have a DREAMSICLE! Dont be fooled just because it's a slushy drink ;)

Yelp
A bar with a pool in Texas... why not. Have a large patio with a pool that people can jump on free of charge and enjoy a beer in as well. Overall cool spot in a good area.

Yelp
Love coming here for the EDM pool parties! It's always a blast! The pool is fun, I like that they can cover it when it rains. Fun vibes every time I come!

Yelp
Met up here with friends to get a couple drinks before going axe throwing next door...but since Yelp somehow knows I was there their AI keeps asking for a review...don't have a negative thing to say about this place, didn't have any food, but the drinks came out quick, were of normal strength and the people were friendly...had a gent who was enjoying the night a little too much start hitting on one of our married girlfriends right in front of her husband, who was a good sport about it...then we watched the overindulgent gentleman, pass out on his feet and fall to the ground...common man, you know that wasn't that fun...and his tomorrow probably was just a HEADACHE Check out this place for a good night of socializing and enjoying some live music!...good people watching too!!

Yelp
I've visited Fort Worth 3x in my life and have tried coming to this bar 4 times-- I have not ONCE ever been serviced. I originally wanted to try it because I heard they had frozen redbull vodkas... The first time I visited, they allowed me in but told my boyfriend he couldn't because it was a 'private party'. The next three times we tried coming, there wasn't a single employee to be found ANYWHERE. The entire place (even behind the bar) looks abandoned and is empty-- we even questioned if we should call authorities just in case something happened... As we were giving up/walking out, what looked like two employees were walking in, acknowledged they had missed us twice, and kept going about their way. I'm not sure how they haven't been robbed or are still open. Not worth the waste of energy or time.

Yelp
Best crawfish in Ft worth the amount with had was worth it for 3 people amazing thanks Josh

Yelp
The atmosphere is great and a lot of good looking people hang here. I love the pool and the drinks are great. The service is good and friendly staff.

John G.

Yelp
The manager takes his job a bit too seriously. While they have a sign saying no pets in the pool, if you don't walk in and meticulously read it they'll kick you out if your dog steps in the pool for two seconds. No warnings, just time to go. I'm all for keeping your pup under control, just didn't see the sign and assumed a dog friendly bar would be dog friendly bar. No hard feelings until he disparaged me as mentally disabled personally. Can't type what he said here. As someone that lives a half mile away I can say the positive reviews are friends trying to turn the business around and make them seem friendly. They aren't.

Tessa S.

Yelp
This is the best bar on 7th street. The best looking bartenders and the funnest events!! Definitely recommend!!!

Yelp
I don't know about this place. We have been starred at by this not an inch taller than me (I'm 5'2") bouncer up and down especially my bf before he let us in while clearly he let the people in in front of us within seconds without any dirty looks. He even put up the chain while checking our ID's maybe because he thought we will try to go for it if we aren't let in. I was waiting for him to say something stupid reason why we couldn't get in. We're there to give you our money for booze, we are dressed nicely and none of our pants are sagging. Just the mere fact we aren't the same look (bro looking type) as these other people that are let in in seconds that we you have to use a microscope to look at our ID. It's unfortunate that you are that type of place. I will definitely not come back.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar in the area. All the staff has been nothing but kind, considerate, and fair in my many visits. The drinks are strong and you MUST try the dreamsicle. It's heaven. They also have cheap drinks, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I've seen them advertise cool events like turtle racing on their facebook, and I've always been tempted to visit. They have a game room and a sweet chalk board with speciality shots to try , all of which have been great. Plus, the pool is GORGEOUS to sit by and sip your drinks. You can even go for a swim if you've brought your swimsuit. If not, I often just sit on the edge and put my feet in. On the weekends, it gets packed at night and they play rap/hip-hop tunes to dance to.

Yelp
We were having such a fun time until a man accusing my friend of pretending to be military, tripped him and they ended up kicking us out because they said they have to work with that man, so because he works there, he got a free pass!

Sarah R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and i went here and watched the bartenders short pour us and charge $30 for essentially 1 drink. We're both bartenders and to see other bartenders try to scam there way into more money is honestly unacceptable, we will not be back!

Yelp
I don't understand the negative reviews? This is hands down my favorite bar in Fortworth! Good drinks, awesome layout, and a badass swimming pool in the center! I don't see what the problem is!
google avatar

Yelp
New to the area and stop by for a drink! Let the Taner the bartender and Corey the GM! Both easy on the eyes lol great mule and company!! Music was perfect

Yelp
So i wanted to take my husband somewhere fun for his birthday. We are new to TX. Well I didn't read these awful reviews. Turns out, they are true. I was able to get in the door no problem but i look behind me and my husband is still at the door. I thought he was already behimd me. So I go back thinking wth...thr bpuncer guy seems tl be hllding him back..qyestioning him...actually wanting to search him! I'm white and my husband is Hispanic. I'm sure you know where I'm going with this ....I just said F this and we left. Totally sad.

Yelp
Cool place but worst attitude at the door. A lot of my friends have been turned away from here and all of them by froto douche baggins. This little dude at the door likes to find creative ways not to let you in. The first instance with him was a buddy wearing some chuck taylors and froto told him his shoes can't be that high on his ankle. Next instance was a friend who had a hat on. Froto turned him away because the brim was not bent enough. He told him bend it and you can go in. Of course we refused based on principle. Two weeks ago another buddy who has a degree in neuroscience from MIT was turned away for wearing red polo shorts. He was told that this is a gang color and could not go in. When you could clearly see he looked like every other TCU student in there. This is not except able behavior here in Fort Worth. The reason I like going to west 7th is because the crowd is so very chill.

Yelp
Whiskey Garden - where dreams go to die. Okay so the place itself is very pretty, but holy crap I have consistently had terrible service and this is why it gets such a low rating. I was there this past Saturday and they were not busy at all. They had a $10 rum bucket so I was going to do that since it was 2 oz of rum mixed with whatever punch option you wanted and it was hot AF so it sounded refreshing. The bartender literally threw stuff into my drink that I specifically requested him not to add - aka club soda and orange juice. They were so unknowledgeable and did not put any care into making our drinks and the punch bowl LITERALLY HAD INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE THE DRINK ON THE SIDE! Both bartenders seemed annoyed to be there. When we went to tab out it took us almost 15 minutes because they were no where to be found. My friends I stopped to see here love this place because of the pool, but I am just not a fan at all.

Robert O.

Yelp
Consistently poor service and rude staff. Facility has potential. Time to retrain the staff or maybe just start over!

Yelp
I love going to The Whiskey Garden. It's my favorite spot on West 7th because it's relaxed in the daytime and early evening. I like that it doesn't attract a million underage college kids. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is nice! Definitely check out Turtle Races on Monday nights. The barbacoa tacos are to die for. If I could rate staff attractiveness, I'd give that five stars, too. My friends and I have never had a bad experience here. I imagine a lot of the negative reviews is a result of Whiskey's dress code policies and the fact that they don't allow intoxicated people inside (another reason I like to go here). Be mindful of these things and you should have a great time.

Yelp
So...... we were there for their Halloween event, and our bartender JASON took our drink order. It was an event night so I'm sure it's extra hard for Jason and his friends to do their jobs. My friend got his drink, and it tasted like a Coca Cola straight up. It's fine but they are saying there's alcohol in it. So he mentioned it was kinda weak. As a bartender in the service industry there are 100 things he could have said to smooth it over. He grabbed a bottle of whiskey and poured it into the cup til it overflowed all over the bar, super aggressive. We all sat shocked and slowly left one at a time. I asked him if he owned the place because if he did, fine, but he was just a bartender. There's no words, no excuse for that kind of behavior. I feel like someone who has any authority needs to address this failure, EPIC failure of an experience.

Yelp
If I could give 0 I would. Listen owner of "Whiskey" bar... I have a bartender of yours on VIDEO telling me he charged ME a dollar MORE, for an Angry Orchard, than one of my friends (who is a girl) because she was my "girlfriend." AS IF THATS A JUSTIFICATION. That being said, a GIRL was charged a dollar LESS than a MAN, just because he was a MAN, for the EXACT SAME DRINK!!! Again, a guy pays a dollar more for an alike drink. First of all, my friend isn't my "girlfriend." She's my friend! You should know, I'm in a "homosexual" relationship, Mr. discriminating bartender. After I confronted the bartender on his unethical response he said, "tough luck bro I gave that discount to your girlfriend not you... you better leave before I call the cops." I told him to, "call the cops." As I have RECORDED PROOF of him making discriminatory comments against ME! Yet of course never did... I left in a civil manner. ... As your bartenders remarks left me in complete disarray. I have never been discriminated upon EVER but this is an UNETHICAL business practice and is going to wind up ending YOU and your bar tender in court! Your bar tender can't charge me more just because I'm a "guy." That is completely discriminatory and he need to be fired!

john H.

Yelp
This place does a pretty decent business. But their business model is to favor their friends and certain 'cool-clique' types. They make their buddies nice stiff drinks while they water yours down! They give their buddies your food while you wait another hour or so even though you were first in line. So yeah, 20% of the crowd is having one heck of a time at the expense of the other 80% that are getting dumped on. Amendment: Well, I went back with some other folks and got destroyed yet again. Hordes of customers that got there after me getting their food while I kept getting blown off with , " DUDE, YOURE NEXT!" Ad-nausium...... When youre about thefirst guy tjete and give an 8 dollar tip on two drinks you think yu just might get your food eventually.... Nope, got my money over 2 hours later.
google avatar

Yelp
I will NEVER return to this place. Being from Miami I have never EVER seen a place turn away girls away from a bar. I don't know if it's racism (I'm Colombian/American) or if I was too ugly or what but this place definitely gives you some crap at the door about a "guest list." With 90% of the line being made up of guys I was completely confused. I mean maybe they should actually create a guest list.....? Have it monitored by someone? Lol I don't know it was pretty ridiculous and blatant. I did get in but it was only after an awkward exchange which is really not what people are looking for on a Friday night when everyone just wants to relax and have a good time. No no and no!
google avatar

Caroline E.

Yelp
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a bar. I was there for less then five minutes. The bar tender took my card and when I said please close out he gave it to someone else who charges a huge tip. When I proceeded to ask where my card was the bar tender yelled at me that I was cussing at him. When I was not. I have never been so disrespected at a bar and will make sure ALL my money is returned. DO NOT GO THERE.

Yelp
I know many people who dislike this place because it's difficult to get into. I haven't had trouble getting into here when I am with a bunch of females. Also if we have an even amount of males and females that goes in as a group. I have seen them deny guys, from 2 guys to 8 guys. It reminds me of Vegas and Fort Worth is far from Sin City. It's ridiculous. The bar is nice though. There is a small pool in the center, 2 bars, dj. This place does get crowded on the weekends.
google avatar

Wacomac M.

Yelp
I found the place loud, strange layout, and attempting to make it's own category for 'trendy'. Two stars because the drinks were actually make well, and had a good pour. This is probably not the place for me.
google avatar

Rob J.

Yelp
This place is bad ass!!!!! Totally the hip spot, I mean it's Monday and it's packed! I will give one star deduction for taking the entire dance floor for some stupid asssss turtle races. Totally lame! Awesome music but can't dance Bc of the stupidassssss turtles. I mean come on dude. Wack AF BARTENDERS are awesome but turtle racing? Dude please. Ok it's enough to warrant a 2 star deduction
google avatar

Lin G.

Yelp
As cool of a spot as Fort Worth could get! Thank goodness for the heating lamps in the winter as most of their space is open/outdoors. Saturday night brings a good crowd with a DJ that plays music you want to dance to. My friend kept getting shots, and as the night wore on his shot allotment certainly dwindled but I'd say that's a good thing, let's call it a Angel's Share. Thank you for your better judgment, bartender, which we clearly lacked. There were also a bunch of people coming in in reindeer and santa outfits. Not sure if they were having a special dress up night or if the clientele is just eccentric. Whatever the case, it was a win!
google avatar

Carlos C.

Yelp
Great building and location wasted with terrible, bad, service. Was given a hot energy drink, the bartender opened without telling me it was hot and gave me a cup with ice for me to decide whether to pour it in or not. Had to ask where the WC was, the staff was talking and ignored me. It's all about the bad attitude all over.
google avatar

Kaycee C.

Yelp
Monday nights are the spot to be here! Twice a month they do turtle races which brings in a MIXED crowd && lots of fun, rowdy people. If you're easily offended, may not be the place for you. People come here to let loose and do whatever they want (with limits). Plus who doesn't love winning prizes for turtles racing ?
google avatar

Brian A.

Yelp
Had the chance to hop around 6 different bars in the area and Whisky Garden was definitely the most busy and had the best looking crowd on a Saturday night. One of my favorite things was the shots. Ended up trying 5 different speciality shots (off a big menu of signature shots) My favorites we're the Jameson w/ Pickle back and the Marshmallow shot! I also love that there is a POOL in the middle of the place with a swim up bar for summer. (It was covered with a deck when I was there and people were dancing over the pool).
google avatar

Brett Y.

Yelp
Stay away. This is by far the worst bar I've ever "attempted" to go to. I've been to a lot of places in many different cities and never have I been turned away from entering a business. I wait in line for 10 minutes, no big deal, it's normal for Fort Worth in areas of west 7th. I get to the door and the guy looks at my ID and asks "how many people are with you?" I said "just me and my friend" and pointed. Then he said the entrance is for people on the guest list or the members list only. Seriously? So I told them I had a friend inside and stepped out of line to call him, he said if I could contact my friend I could get in. He couldn't get my call so I asked the other bouncer how do you get on the guest or member list. "You have to know someone inside or know a bartender." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You're denying me service because I don't know who is inside and I'm a new PAYING customer? Way to welcome new business. This is not how a business is ran, it's horrible customer service. I honestly think it was discrimination because my friend was Hispanic. After we got out of line, they let 10 more white people in. I'm white, and it seemed like I was fine until I pointed to my Hispanic friend. This is definitely a place that will never see my business EVER again and I most definitely will spread the word about their terrible service. I look forward to the day they get shut down and a better ran establishment moves in that actually knows how to grow respect in their community.

Yelp
I've read through so many negative reviews before and after I became a patron of this place as well as before I lived close by to really observe. One: I haven't noticed any racial bias. People of all colors are here as well as employed here...and for the better Two: It's a bar with a pool in it...show up in appropriate cover attire until you hit the water. Done. Three: Don't leave dumpy reviews of a bar just because you feel uncomfortable there. P.s. 4: The men's restroom is a little bit racy when it comes to the current feminist climate.
google avatar

Yelp
We visited Whiskey Garden on a Saturday night around 9pm. We were visiting forth worth for the weekend and this bar was recommend. No cover, IDs checked, when we stepped inside we were shocked how large it was. This venue could hold large party's. They had frozen drinks, mixed drinks and beer the prices were what to be expected in Forth Worth. They have indoor fire pits that are great when it is cold. An upper deck with limited seating and TVs. They have multiple bars and games inside. We would come back and recommend to check out.
google avatar

Cynthia E.

Yelp
Bartender over charge our domestic beers for imports saying it was the same price. Then wanted us to be kicked out of the place for complaining about it.
google avatar

Grace D.

Yelp
I got dragged here by a few of my friends, and I honestly screamed after checking in and seeing the star rating. Some of the reviews on here are just so hilariously bad, so I put on a brave face and prepared myself for the worst. The worst never really happened but neither did the best. I didn't really get the appeal of this place (my friends are apparently avid fans), especially since we were in such close proximity to other (better) bars. As weird as it sounds, one of the most annoying features of this place for us was the giant overhead fan - it literally was creating a light wind that kept sweeping my hair into my friend's and I's faces. Drinks weren't anything particularly special - I tried something but I literally cannot remember what it was. I think it was a margarita? It was okay, but I don't think I'd order it again. The minimum requirement for a cocktail shouldn't just be "drinkable", ya know? They did have a bunch of large TVs, so I'd say it's an alright option for watching a game, but that's not really a game-changer (pardon the pun) for this place. I didn't have to get past a list but we were also there in the middle of the day (to watch a game). Regardless, the experience was just blah... there was nothing that set it apart from the other bars on 7th, so it's hard to justify coming back.
google avatar

Jenn E.

Yelp
There is no list here.....it is an excuse. The bar is nice, and has a lot of unique characteristics, but, it is dousch bag central. I have been twice. I've never had a problem with the door staff, but the service is slow and the crowd is just a bunch of preppy kids... If you're over 22, and have the mentality of someone over 22.....this place is not for you. It reminds me of a rookie fraternity or sorority party. The guys there are nothing special. They are over confident in the way they dress, act and approach women there. (I guess if they're approaching the typical female customer there it may work).... Guys....muscle shirts are to be worn by MEN that have MUSCLES and take care of themselves. .... NOT by flabby little boys with fat arms!! :( They really should reconsider the "list" of people and the clientele they let in this club. It has alot of potential......
google avatar

Viralyn K.

Yelp
I'm still partial to this place. But it's getting to the point where I'm hearing a lot of people being turned away because of how selective they are. It's 2015. THIS IS FORT WORTH. If they want to turn people away, I feel bad for their business. If you are one to get in, it's not too bad. The music is to my liking for the most part and the drinks weren't overly priced. The shots were definitely shots and made this place much more tolerable. It is very cool inside. So it would be best to dress nice, especially on the weekends. There is that dinky pool. I haven't seen anyone in there. In case you don't know how to swim, they have floaty animals to assist. Not sure if I would bother with the food unless severely drunk. Parking can be an issue. I wouldn't expect to find close parking during peak hours. I'm also confused with the whiskey name. Let's just say the whiskey ninja wouldn't come here to sip and ponder on some whiskey.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Just as everyone said before me racism. Bouncers at the door refused to let us in saying we weren't on the guest list. The group behind us told us they just decided to check this place out, and they got in. I don't know how they think you can run a successful business with only taking a fraction of the population. We'll see how long this establishment lasts...
google avatar

Shea S.

Yelp
I'll admit, the set-up and decor of this place is pretty cool. However - the service is downright AWFUL. The first time I tried to go here, my group got turned down by the doorman for not having a high enough girl:guy ratio. Second attempt months later, my friends and I did get in but within just minutes of being there, I was groped twice by two different randos. I immediately reported the second incident and pointed the guy out to a security guard who had the worst attitude about it. He shrugged and went, "What do you want me to do about it? You're at a bar, what do you expect?" From the doormen to security, this staff is full of douchebags. The venue itself has potential. Staff is the WORST. Didn't venture much into the crowd, but I had no desire to after getting grabbed at.

Yelp
Arrived here on a cold night. They had fire pits all over the location. Went to the bar and was approached immediately. The bartender was very attentive. We asked for the hockey game be put on. He accommodated us. As the place started to become crowded and they changed bartender staff the service went down hill. There was one bartender that was rude. He wouldn't give me his. And but he was a big white man with a mustache. He made my drink incorrectly and I informed him. He became rude and said I had to pay for it. I let him know I'm not paying for your mistake. He glared at me and made my drink correctly and then slammed it on counter. All other staff were pleasant and apologized for his behavior. There were a few regulars there and they said he is always like that. I'm guessing more customers would need to complain or leave low ratings for him to be asked to leave. Wish I would have taken a picture of the bartender but I didn't think about it. I was appalled the Whiskey Garden allowed this bartender to treat patrons badly.

Nate M.

Yelp
Just moved to Fort Worth area and we came with a small group of 4 people. As former service industry employees we always tip over 20% and we did this time as well; however, the unprofessionalism exhibited leaves us never visiting here. Bartender rude on warm beer replacement, it's nuts. Hate how cool this place is, hate to not come here again.
google avatar

Brittany C.

Yelp
My friends and I heard about this bar and wanted to check it out. We came a little early so there was no line and had no trouble getting in (they didn't ask if we were on the list). It got packed pretty quickly though. I did like the music except for it being extremely loud in some areas. The design of the bar is cool and unique - it's not like any other bar on 7th. However, the crowd was douche central and the pool is practically in the middle and you have a narrow hallway to walk through to get to the other side. So of course people are dancing in that narrow space between the cabanas and the pool and you're praying you don't get twerked in. No one was swimming in the pool when we were there at night. I think they should put railing around the pool to make it safer. Drunk or clumsy people could easily slip on the wet floor and fall in when its that packed. Our first bartender (girl) was really slow at the smaller bar so we started getting drinks at the larger one on the left side with mostly men bartenders and they were much faster! The girl bartender also charged us more for the same drinks that we got on the other side. She charged $7 for a vodka tonic which is more than other places in the area. When we were leaving the line was really long and we saw people skipping the line and going to the front (cute girls mostly) and they would let them in. This place is really new so it's attracting all the wrong people but hopefully the next new bar will attract all the Frodo Douchebaggins there instead. It has potential and is probably much better during the day when it's not as crowded with asshats. 7th St used to attract a better crowd but it's getting worse.
google avatar

Adrian Z.

Yelp
This place is a joke. I've been to this place a couple of times, got in but had an issue at the door each time. I went there this past weekend on a Sunday, it wasn't very busy at all but was refused at the door because I wasn't on the "list" which is fine because I'll go spend my money elsewhere. This bar is actually pretty cool, and has a neat atmosphere but don't waste your time walking up to the entrance when you will get denied entry 8/10 tries. A lot of better places to go around West 7th.
google avatar

Lauren N.

Yelp
Sigh. The hubby and I like to bring people who are visiting Fort Worth to the So7 area since there's a ton of bars with in walking distance and a few places to eat. Twice we have had a doorman not accept ID's. One was a military ID and one was a passport from Canada. There are SO many other places close by. Plus I just looked through the yelp photos and saw misogyny at it's finest. 2 middle fingers up to you Whiskey Garden.

Yelp
I came here on a Friday night around 9 ish and it was busy or anything people around looked like they were just hanging around having conversations. I had to use the restroom and while I was waiting to use the girls restroom a couple came out of the doors so I was a little confused since normally girls and guys stalls are separate. I've seen people come here before when it was packed so I thought I would come by to see what was all the commotion all about.

Yelp
I was just here last weekend for my best friends bachelorette party! We left reservoir and the bouncer outside took us to check it out! Skipped the long line "thank god"and had some of their drinks! If you like frozen drinks, the dream sickle is amazing! The guy who took us was very nice and said they had just opened last Thursday. It was a very cool atmosphere and already packed for being kind of tucked away and just opening BUT the bartenders were a bit rude. My best friend and I stood at the bar for at least 15 minutes before I guess a regular, called the bartender over. He saw us plenty of times. Jerk.

Yelp
Honestly I love this place and the crowd and scene however tonight I was served by Garrett the bartender and he was not only rude to me and my friends but other people who ordered drinks after I did. Customer service was NOT up to par like it usually is and I was severely disappointed.

Yelp
We came here for the magic mike showcase on a Tuesday .. so it's not based on a regular weekend night... bar is just average from what we saw.. bartenders were just there .. nothing great .. went to some better places that night and probably would not choose to go back there on a night on the town ...
