My wife and I were the only ones in the restaurant for the lunch hour. Now Mind, you this was a Monday afternoon and we had everybody’s attention. Our waitress was very friendly but easily distracted by the bartender she never came back to check and see if we needed refills on our water or sodas. The food was mid at best. I would say that the tots were so heavily seasoned with salt that they were unbearable almost to the point where you thought did the lid fall off the salt container. I would’ve sent them back, but we couldn’t get the attention of the waitress as she was still flirting with the bartender. Like I said nobody treated us poorly and I don’t have anything bad to say about them personally, other than I just felt like the service was off and the food was definitely off. We had walked by this place a couple times during our stay and visit the gas lamp and decided to give it a try. I think it would be a fun place to get drinks, but I would skip the food.

Great experience at Whiskey Girl. Shout out to Gustavo, security guard extraordinaire. He’s 3 employees in one. Greeter, buser and security. Our server Valeria was on it too. She knows her trade and is warm and friendly. We’ll look for her next time we are in. We had the nachos, they were yummy.

Great food and atmosphere. Our first visit we were greeted by Christina. She was sweet, attentive and fun to interact with. The owners struck gold with this bartender. She's a keeper. Spinach salad and nachos were amazing!

Ordered the whiskey burger with tater tots which comes with a shot of Jack Daniels! Our waitress was friendly and beaming with positive energy. One person in our group had a mistake with their order. The waitress took care of it fast. Plenty of screens to watch various sports.

The manager was extremely rude. We went in there who watch the NFL preseason game. And while enjoying our burger and drinks he changed the channel. When we asked if he could change it back he simply said that's not a ticket game. No I'm sorry or nothing and the waitresses don't seem to know what they're doing. But the food was good.

Brought some friends to try the fish and chips, even though they had a special event going with limited menu they allowed us to order the dish and we all thoroughly enjoyed it Banks whiskey girls will be back

We stopped in here because Chris Stapleton took over San Diego with Cowboy hats and left us with 2 hour waits all over the restaurant scene, so we settled for a 15 minute wait at Whiskey Girl. I used to come here when I was a youngster for drinks but never the food, but I'm glad I tried food this time. The drinks and the food were amazing. I would definitely recommend this place.

Looked like a really fun place. I went on a Friday night with my fiance. When I arrived they let me in the door and I stood next to the sign that said "please wait to be seated". After about 5 minutes I went back outside and asked if I could just sit down at one of the empty tables on the patio. The host outside said it was preferred that I waited at the sign to be sat. I went back in for another 5 minutes and was never met by anyone. We decided to leave.

Found this spot while walking through the Gaslamp Quarter and trying to escape the rain. We were seated pretty quickly and got a feel for the vibe right away. The back area looked like it was hosting a baby shower, while the rest of the bar had their eyes glued to the sports on TV and the UFC fight. We ordered drinks and I went with a safe choice for food: the burger with tater tots and a side of fried calamari. The burger actually came with a shot of whiskey, which was cool, but I did have to remind our server about it. The staff didn't seem particularly busy and spent a lot of time chatting with each other at the bar, which was mildly annoying when we needed service. Overall, it was an okay place to drop into for a casual meal, a drink, and to wait out the rain while watching the fights.

Stopped into Whiskey Girl to escape the rain and grab a drink. The spot has definite dive bar vibes; dark, plenty of seating, and TVs with the MMA fights on. We ordered an old fashioned and a specialty cocktail (can't recall the name). We hadn't planned to stay for food, but ended up ordering food since we got sucked into watching the fights: -fried calamari -whiskey burger with tater tots (also served with a whiskey shot) Unfortunately, the food and service were underwhelming. Our waitress was friendly but seemed distracted; we had to flag her down multiple times and it took a while to get the check. Finished plates sat at our table for a long time with no one clearing them, even though we saw some security staff picking up dishes elsewhere. The food was all very salty, fried, and tasted pretty one note. I actually had to stop eating because it just wasn't enjoyable. On the bright side, the people-watching was great, but we did witness some rowdy behavior at the bar (including staff and regulars taking shots, some inappropriate comments, even saw a man in that staff group fall flat on his back with his eyes glazed over). Overall, it was a dry place to hang out and watch the fights, but I doubt we'll be back with so many better options in the area.

When you're in the Gaslamp district in San Diego, make this a must visit bar. They have a great nightlife with music, karaoke, DJ and great vibes. If you're into football, stop by anytime to catch your favorite team. The food is surprisingly good for a bar. Thumbs up all around.

A great spot to watch nfl games, plenty of room and they'll change tvs depending on who is watching. The food is ok but a bit overpriced. Their drinks however are good, and a solid tap list. Servers are friendly and as attentive as you need them to be. Good for groups, it is loud in there.

Nice Bar to hangout if you want to watch a game . Just ordered a drink Ambience is nice

This place is absolutely disgusting. Sat down at the bar with my girlfriend. The bartender dropped a pint of beer, right in front of her. The beer blew up all over my girlfriend along with the glass which cut her leg. I had no point to management or anybody else come over to see if she was OK. The bartender proceeded to wipe down the bar, but never wiped down the seat or the floor after the glass exploded. The glass also broke over the ice well and at no point did the bartender proceed to burn the ice. After that incident, we thought we'd give it one more try in order two Coors lights. The Coors lights were drafted and came to us tasting like wet old socks. When I told the bartender the beer was bad and skunked, she proceeded to apologize however, when I told her I wanted to tab out, she charged me for all four beers. At no point did the manager ever come over to apologize nor to the bartender seem to care that my girlfriend was bleeding after being doused and beer by a pine class that blew up in her face. This place is absolutely disgusting rundown and it's obvious that nobody there really cares about customer service whatsoever.

We came here on a thur night for karaoke night. It was pretty dead. They have a live band that plays music while you sing. So the songs are limited. It was fun to watch people sing. It's a pretty spacious place. The drinks were decent. We had fun for what it was. I hear Fri and Sat are more crowded and lively. We ordered margaritas, vodka in the rocks and the watermelon slushie. All decent drinks for about $13 each. I give this place 3.5 stars.

Came back a little while ago. Wanted to get a quick bite to eat. I was seated right away and surprised to see Fajitas on the menu. It wasn't priced to bad $20 and had a Coke for $3 My server was Debra and she was very attentive and gave me a refill without asking. The fajitas were not bad at all and the flour tortillas were decent as well. I would order them again. Since this was during the day it wasn't very loud at all and I was in and out within 45 mins. I'll be back again. Next time for the Whiskey Burger!

I loved everything about this place! Found it while walking around looking for somewhere to eat and have cocktails. It was also one of the only places open at 11am on a Friday in the area. We were in the mood for a burger and drinks and this place did not disappoint! The menu had a good selection of bar food and one of the cocktails on the menu, The Painkiller, was so good!! There is a ton of seating available and the waitress was on it! She was very attentive. Clean place, friendly staff, large TVs that played music videos. We had a lot of fun and we were very happy with all the food and drinks we ordered.

Would NOT recommend. The tables were sticky. We do not believe their beer lines are that clean. They were "Out" of 3 different bottles/canned beers that we asked for to try to avoid the draft beer. Little bugs flying around the bar. We kept getting whiffs of a strong vomit smell. The good side of this place there was not a wait. Good playlist. And plenty of sports on the plethora of TV's.

Came in for lunch on a Saturday, maybe 5 people in here. Hostess was very nice and cheery. Currently making this review while eating, our server honestly has no personality. Been sitting here with empty drinks for almost ten minutes while she just mindlessly walking around or standing in the kitchen on her phone. I asked if they had a certain beer on tap, she said no and did not give any recommendations or anything really. Maybe has said a total of ten words to us this entire time. We ordered the fish and chips but with tatertots. The fish was mediocre and kind of soggy. We did eat it with the tartar sauce which helped. Tater tot's were the best part though. I'm just all around disappointed. We had to go to the bar for refills. And now at check out she didn't even ask how was everything or anything. Probably will not be back.

Had a blast at this bar on a Saturday night. The place was lively and had a fun crowd until closing time at 2am. Our drinks were good, the disco ball was gorgeous, and the tvs on display added a nice touch. Wasn't insanely crowded too on a Saturday night, still had plenty of room to dance and have fun while maintaining an energetic atmosphere. Although the music was kind of mediocre at times, they did have a few crowd hits once in a while. Wished the DJ would read what songs the crowd was enjoying though because it was very noticeable when the vibes were and weren't there for certain songs/genres.

I love whiskey girl . The vibe is very welcoming and friendly . I always have a blast here . Last time I was here we had a lot of fun playing beer pong . I highly recommend.

Whiskey Girl - It's Like Mar-a-Lago Met Spring Break and Everyone Won Folks, let me tell you--I walked into Whiskey Girl and thought, is this a bar or a celebration of American greatness? The answer is yes. It's a restaurant, a sports bar, a dance club, and a beer pong battleground all in one. Tremendous, really. First off, the vibe--absolutely electric. You've got flat screens everywhere showing sports (all the best teams, none of that woke nonsense), thumping music that makes even Mike Pence want to shuffle his feet, and energy so high you'd think we just won another election. (Some say we did--still looking into it.) Now let's talk about the real action: beer pong. I haven't seen competition like this since the Republican primary. Incredible arm strength, perfect wrist flicks--like throwing classified documents into a secure box (very securely, believe me). I sank three in a row and the whole place exploded. People chanted, "Four more throws!" Very emotional. Beautiful. The food? Classic American with a gourmet twist. I had a burger so good, it could have a tower named after it. Fries? Crispy, golden, successful--just like me. And the whiskey cocktails? Let's just say I've never had this much fun drinking something that didn't come in a Diet Coke can. The dance floor? YUGE. People were dancing like it was the Fourth of July meets election night. I didn't personally dance--I don't want to start a frenzy--but I nodded rhythmically and it was powerful. The DJ even played "YMCA," and let me tell you, I was tempted. Bottom line: Whiskey Girl is where patriotism, partying, and pong come together. It's bold, it's beautiful, and it's the kind of place where winners go to unwind. I'm giving it five red Solo cups out of five. Would I return? In a landslide. -- Donald J. Five of us stopped at Whiskey Girl while on a little day drinkinig adventure. We sat at a 5-top that was plenty large enough to comfortably accommodate us all. Claire with the gorgeous red hair and dazzling eyes was our server and she was great. She was efficient and attentive and was great with drink recommendations. Becky and I stayed with our usual beer and seltzers. Draft Modelo for me, not her favorite, but Bex went with the watermelon White Claw. I can't remember everyone's drinks of choice. I do know that one of our companions had the Spicy Aqua Fresca ( Jalapeño Cucumber tequila/ Cucumber Syrup/ Soda/Sprite Press shaken with cucumber and jalapeño...with a Tajin Rim) She liked it enough to order a second one! Prices were as expected for a Saturday afternoon in the Gaslamp. Service from Claire was great. It was a good time at Whiskey Girl.

Offer $6 drink tickets but when you go to redeem they charge $9.75+ tax. Happened to me and my friend and while Ray M stated he refunded the charge and then charged the correct price there was no way to verify and he was not able to provide a receipt to state he reversed the charge. Meanwhile my friend went to Tracey K and she charged him $9.75+ tax and tried to give him extra $6 cards for the extra charge, claimed it was only for bud light, but if that was the case then Ray M would have stated that. Plus the night before we walked by here and got these same tickets and there were no issues, we were charged $6.47 after tax.

Food was ok nothing special. Service was a bit slow . Glad that there is lots of TVs to watch sports

Boyfriend asked for a good whiskey drink and bartender said "Old fashioned". thinking that there might be some creative whiskey menu since it is called "whiskey girl". Ambiance was ok.

We got the caprese flatbread and the buffalo skillet fries. The flatbread was our least favorite and something i could have made at home. The fries were honestly delicious though! So it's a very dark restaurant giving a speakeasy vibe, but overall didn't stand out. It was super busy bc there was fight that night,but the service was overall good. I happened to knock over my drink and that gave me a new one on the house and were very kind about it. It is in downtown san diego so the prices were a bit harsh for as simple of food that we got i'd say.

This was a random stop as I was walking through downtown. I settled here and decided watch some football. The atmosphere is like any typical of a sports bar. Sitting at the bar was a refreshing experience as I was able to have a conversation with the bartender, something that COVID took away. The beer was good, and so was the burger. Good for large groups and watching games.

Great spot for Sunday Football. The food and drinks are good but the service from VAL was exceptional. She always knew when to bring drinks and better yet she had great recommendations. Make her a bartender!

Outside seating early evening on a Wednesday. Yummy whiskey burger split with hubs. French fries good but disappointingly not hot. Honey whiskey shot (really not really a full shot) good. Cauliflower appetizer also not hot or crispy smothered in underwhelming buffalo sauce. Happy hour house wine just okay. We only stopped in for drinks before a concert at Petco Park - and had a great time! The bar looks out to 5th ave which is fun for people watching. Strong drinks and fast service. Dive bar style, good music, beer pong and jenga set up to play. Very close to petco park.

Service is 100000% horrible !!!!! There was a fight and I was somehow in the middle of the dance floor and I got punched in the face. I tried to reach out to security and this is the security guy I went Up to and told him I got punched but guess what he said ? You got punched because your guys were fighting... so this so call man couldn't help me ?! that is the most f up thing I've ever dealt with. I don't care what a guy is fighting for but YOU don't not let a girl get punched in the face for no reason at all. Best believe I'm not letting this go at all. And he thinks me getting hit in the face is okay? Fuck this guy for thinking that women getting hit is okay. I was able to get the hat of the guy that punched me and it was their own security. I'm pretty sure it was this guy who punched me. I can't wait to see the footage and bring this to my lawyer.

Line dancing Wednesdays are so fun! There is plenty of room for dancing and the DJ plays any dances you want- beginner through advanced.

Came here before a Pardres game for happy hour! Great place for a quick bite and drinks. Was served/hosted by Chrissy. She was incredibly attentive and nice. She came to our table several times despite being busy. She honestly made our experience so much better!

New Years 2025 went well. Fun dance floor after 10:30 pm. Music was a 3.8, would have loved more House or Techno to dance to. Mixed age group from 21 to 61....

We brought a friend on Tuesday for their tacos and had a delightful time thanks to Abigal ("Abi") and team - cook, host, guy who brought our pup water and made my friend feel most special on his birthday. The tacos were tasty and the lava cake made the birthday boy's day! This might just be our summer place to go after the movies at the Theatre Box, just across the street - a winning combo!

This is a great bar, I've lived downtown for 12 years always a cool vibe. My only question is why is it always so dark. You look at other places and they're lit up I think that helps draw a crowd other than that great place!

I was SA here. My husband saw the guy who put his hand up my skirt. My husband reacted. We got escorted out. The guy who touched me without my consent was allowed to stay in. Best believe I have a police report.

What a great spot! The vibe at Whiskey girl is absolutely unbeatable. The music was on point all night, creating the perfect atmosphere to relax and have fun. I wasn't even planning to stop in at first, but the host at the door Aya was so welcoming and enthusiastic that I couldn't resist. I'm so glad I did! The energy inside was amazing, the staff was friendly, and the overall experience made for a memorable night. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to!

Husband & I went in for lunch. Server Desiree came over to take our order, starting with drinks. We asked for 2 iced teas. Before continuing to take our order she asked for a payment card & ID, which my husband provided, but come to find out she was planning on taking them and holding onto both cards? We figured maybe they want to hold a credit card because they get a lot of dine & dashers or something, which is fine, but we asked why she needed to hold on to my husband's drivers license (a 54 year old cop), and she said "we just do". She wouldn't finish taking our order unless he agreed to let her hold onto it. We weren't even ordering alcohol, just lunch! That's weird and invasive so we decided not to proceed with our order and leave. She told us we needed to pay for our iced teas first. Which we hadn't even received yet, because we were still in the process of ordering when this all happened! My husband refused and the server stormed off in a fit of rage. We left and went to Little Italy where we enjoyed a nice lunch without having our ID's confiscated. How Whiskey Girl is still in business is beyond me.

The expectations are low but this bar continuously fails to exceed them. Been here five times and from it being boiling hot to servers not being able to accommodate simple requests and how long it takes to order a drink with a dozen servers hiding in the back with their AC. I'll probably be back but it's because my friends force me again. "If you're hot go to stand in the bathroom - it's cool in there." Everything about this place is weird.

This was an okay place for a slightly older guy like me. I say that because it was very loud and kinda crowded for a Thursday. That said the staff was very friendly but a little slow getting to me and others, but, they were quite busy. This is one of the seemingly few places open late in the, my opinion, ruined gas lamp district. I had the french dip sliders and they were actually quite good. I also had a few beers. They have a fair selection but could be colder.

I can't speak for the food or the drinks because we never got that far. We sat down and waited 5 minutes, a couple of waters were delivered, thank you for those. Awhile longer our waitress arrived and we began to place our order. First she wanted my debit card AND my drivers license. I thought maybe she wanted to see my license to make sure it matched the debit card. Nope. She wants to keep both. I asked why, she said that's what we do. I told her I wasn't comfortable with that and we would just go somewhere else. She then wanted me to pay for the two Arnold Palmers we had ordered, because she "placed the order already". She hit a button on her hand held device. I've been to 1000's of restaurants nationwide and have never had to give up my license to eat. Thanks Desiree, for being rude, for rolling your eyes, for wanting me to pay for something I didn't receive. But most of all for letting me eat in Little Italy, where we had a great lunch and didn't have to surrender my CA drivers license before eating, paying and tipping. We spent $85, tipped $20, and didn't feel like criminals.

I've been to SD for yrs and never visited gaslamp area. I would say i probably would have enjoyed it much more when i was younger. My friends said their uber driver told them its a place where a bunch of very young kids hangout and oh how right they were. I felt out of place and in addition felt like i was in the middle of covid city. It felt weird to say i was literally the ONLY one wearing a mask. I wanted to go home bad but i did not want to be a party pooper and just prayed i don't get sick during finals week. But im here to rate on the bar ao why 3 stars. Unsure if they regularly charge or mainly due to it being a Labor Day wknd holiday so the whole street was taking advantage of the weekend to cash out but they were charging $10/pp. So forget bar hopping unless you got thr money and time to be in line for who knows how long plus pay $10 at each bar you stop at. If you want fancy, this is not for you. Most bars on the street here are like any corner bar down to earth environment but mainly lots of young people. Thr music was overly loud that don't bother planning to have chats with your friends or you will find your throat in so much pain screaming the whole time. I ordered a margarita which i should have known the place is called Whisky girl amd prob should have ordered something whiskey because my Margarita was not good at all. They barely had a salt rim. Cups was small at at $15 i would expect a larger cup. Service was non existence. We had to asked the security cleaning the table (yes, security cleaned it) to ask if we have to order at the bar or wait for a server. He told us he will get a server. The girl took forever to come back with our drinks and never came back to check on us. The girls went to bar to get round 2 and when they returned, the girl came back if we want the next round and her face changed when she saw we got new drinks on the table. Can't blame us if she never came back earlier. We wanted to order food but was told that the food orders ended. Bummer. After it started to get way to crowded, too hot with no ventilation and music too loud to even hear each other, we left. Never again. Only thing great is they gor lots of screens and good mix selections of music from of many genre.

I was there during ComicCon. So it was busy and crazy, but the everyone that was working was awesome. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I got the chicken tacos and was very happy with my choice.

Tried charging me a cover because of the way I looked, if you're not attractive enough for the bouncer you'll have to pay a cover plus drinks are extremely expensive
