Whiskey Inferno Meat House & Craft Bar

We visited at the beginning of Happy Hour on a Friday - Service and atmosphere really saved the experience. Our server (Vy !!) was amazing, great conversationalist and a consistently update demeanor! The atmosphere was very chill for the start of Happy hour, and really hadn't picked up much by 5pm - great music at the right volume and pleasantly populated and conversational. The steak (Fillet 7oz) was the star and could have been a five star on its own, obviously cooked to order and perfectly medium rare. The Rib, Brisket, Sausage plate was what brought things down to a 3 average... Yeah, that means it was a 2 star of that had been all we ordered - the ribs were buried in a dry rub that had absorbed what small amount of moisture was left in the ribs, the brisket was a 50/50 deal - one portion still had the perfectly rendered fat on it, the other portion was the tip and had neither fast nor moisture left. The Elk Sausage had memories of being fantastic, but it too was over-cooked (second day on the grill... For a Friday?)

My co-workers chose this place due to the aesthetic and extensive menu. It's kind of shocking to know that this was a former Applebee's but I can see it. Their design team is obviously genius! They were able to work with the elements that were already there, yet elevate it to the point of no recognition. The food was so good! No regrets on having my farewell dinner here! The brisket on my sandwich had a very hearty smoke to it which I feel like a lot of BBQ places in the Midwest fail to do. The meat was tender and juicy, and the portions were huge! You definitely get more than your money's worth. We came in during the afternoon Happy Hour--highly recommend the Brisket Tater Kegs! Our server told us about their half-off steak and wine specials that occur EVERY NIGHT at 9pm. This place is wonderful! I'll have to come in again the next time I work in the Twin Cities!

This place has a beautiful ambiance and a great vibe overall. The drinks were excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, the food was a bit of a letdown. We tried the brisket sandwich on a cornbread bun — unfortunately, the bun didn’t taste great, and the brisket was overly salty. We also ordered the onion rings, which were massive. While they could be a meal on their own, they had a heavy batter and thick-cut onions that made them feel a bit overwhelming. I specifically came for the onion soup, but that too was disappointingly salty. Despite the food falling short, the welcoming atmosphere and solid service made the experience more enjoyable.

First time customer and I was very pleased with my visit. The atmosphere is nice with dim lighting and wood accents everywhere. The old books on the shelves was a nice touch. I ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer and whatever that berry sauce is that comes with it is a delicious surprise, idk what it is but its good. For my entrée I ordered chicken and brisket and it was very good. My wife ordered the bacon cheesburger and it was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were delicious as well as the macaroni and cheese. On Thursdays thru have live music and this was also very enjoyable.

Came here to eat lunch with my parents and it went great! We were sitting outside and enjoying the weather. Had a new work stake, cheese curds with Jam (turn out it's really good) and I had ribs with brisket. Everything was delicious, BBQ sauce for ribs was a little too thick in my opinion. Ranch was okay. Service is top notch. Definitely will be back.

Picked this place off of others reviews. You all did not let me down! The food was reasonably priced and just damn good! Came here before a ladies night at the casino and I'm glad we opted to go off property. Our server was awesome as well as our entire experience. One of the ladies in our party is a whisky girly and she loved their selection and the presentation. The onion rings were a huge hit and the combo plates were enough for 2 of us and had left overs. I will be back if I'm in the area.

It’s a great spot for a casual night out or a special occasion, though I do wish the food lived up to the high standard set by the service. Final Verdict: While the food was good but not outstanding, the impeccable service made the visit worthwhile. If they can refine the execution of their dishes, this place could be a true standout. Would I return? Maybe, but mostly for the service and atmosphere rather than the food itself.

To loud as they had a guy singing. Sounded good but loud. We couldnt talk toveach other. Corn bread tasted like fish. My daughter had to swallow whatever was in her mouth from the bite she took. Had nothing so she could spit out. We told server who took it and took it off tge ticket. But no manager ever came over to apologize. Nothing. Server didnt even apologize. Steak was bla texas rd household of been better. We were visiting so we wanted to try something new.

Great happy hour drinks , yummy msc and cheese , good amount of parking and space inside . Nice spot !

I met up with a friend for her birthday. This place was nice, dark, intimate, huge wall of whiskeys. They have a book of whiskey as part of the menu on every table. Bbq and smoke house type of food. The beer can chicken is what caught my attention. It's good and juicy. Ribs were flavored and moist. Service was great, my server answered every question we had and was attentive. Even the bathroom has a fun label.

A friend loves this place cause steaks are half off after 9 I think, so we went. It was my first time, very cool looking bar and nice patio. Walked in and got seated immediately, it wasnt very busy. Staff was super friendly but the service was pretty slow. Ordered a couple drinks, wings and a steak. Everything took a little while to come out, especially the food. When it finally did come out, I did enjoy everything I had. My date said her steak was cooked a little too long but it wasnt terrible. We also waited a while to actually get our check. Not the best experience but my date said it's normally much better service. I would definitely go back cause I enjoyed my food and drinks, but hopefully a little quicker service.

Have been there twice, both times were a little underwhelming. Limited menu options depending on the time and day, and the quality of the food was not quite up to the price.

Gorgeous venue - handsome inside vibes, and fun patio area with heaters available to extend the patio season. Food and drinks are great. I would definitely stop in again if I'm in the area. Here's what I tried: Duck Wontons (5/5) loved the crispy wonton wrappers and the delicious sauce, only came with 3 wontons, but were very filling. Steak Bites (5/5) delicious! A few pieces had too much pepper, but I loved the crispy onion strings and spices in the steak. Brisket Smokehouse Nachos (4/5) Pretty in Pink Cocktail (5/5) sweet and refreshing, served with a pretty orchid Mule Cocktail (4/5) good flavor. I liked the slice of kiwi that accompanied the mint leaves Aperol Spritz (5/5) perfect summer drink Smoked Manhattan (4/5) fun presentation in a smoke box, but not sure it's worth the $22 price tag. Fun to try it once. Service was just hit or miss. The bartender inside was excellent. Our patio server was attentive, but seemed to be flustered if we ordered too quickly or asked for suggestions.

Limited to a Sunday brunch, the food was excellent, the ambiance about right for the steak-and-whiskey theme, and the table service was adequate. As a former member of Team Whiskey (it was time to cut back), I found the Wall of Whiskey at WI simply stunning. I gawked at it like Sam Neill first seeing a T-Rex in Jurassic Park. The array of bourbon and scotch and Irish whiskeys is awesome. Worth the trip. Didn't spot any rarities (Pappy, Weller, etc) but the quantity of deep cuts among the Islays was impressive. For brunch, the Avocado Toast and Cheesy Hashbrowns were excellent. I do plan to head back to WI for a thick steak, the only way to truly judge this place. We also enjoyed the friendly, if somewhat leisurely, service. Docked one-half star for the coffee, which, while fairly tasty, came to us very slowly, and one cup at a time. But WI is not a diner, so I understand coffee is not their thing. Still, this is an excellent eatery and one worth supporting when anywhere near Savage.

The unique menu at Whiskey Inferno caught my eye on a day when I had no idea what I felt like eating and I'm glad it did! First up was the Charred Vidalia Onion French Onion soup boasting charred Vidalia onions. The soup was good, lots of gooey Swiss cheese melted on top but I was hard pressed to find onions! Lots of bread from the sourdough croutons, but it should have been chock full of onions and it was not. I even chased around trying to find onions to see if grilling made a difference, so that was disappointing and knocked off a star. Next I tried the Grilled Walleye Sandwich. A nicely grilled filet was served on a toasted baguette and was a sloppy, delicious mess. Because it had time from the restaurant to my house to soak in the lettuce/tomato/mayo, I wasn't able to pick it up. I cut a bite and liked it but gave up on the soggy bread and focused on the walleye. It was nicely cooked, had a few stray bones, but very flavorful. I dipped my fork into the tartar sauce accompaniment but it tasted like straight mayo. Not a fan. I should mention the fries, also soggy from the trip to my house, were a huge portion and they tasted good. Finally a side of Balsamic Roasted Zucchini and mushrooms was very good. I love roasted veg (I'm roasting whole carrots tomorrow) and these were nice. I'll definitely revisit Whiskey Inferno. I'm hoping they find more onions, lol.

We decided to celebrate a birthday at WI. We had large party that ordered a wide variety of apps and entrees. The salads were either over dressed or underdressed. The brisket was a stringy mess out of the freezer- clearly was not freshly made. The waitress filled our water glasses as we were paying the bill. The birthday boy was charged for the birthday dessert. What a bummer of an event all around. The prices are not bad - but I guess you get what you pay for. We didn't bother to complain, we just went somewhere else for dessert.

I went for the lunch menu and tried the French onion soup and whiskey steak french dip. The portion was just right, and it was absolutely delicious! After tax and tip it feels a shade expensive, but it's a nice steakhouse, but you know that going in

Went here on a Thursday at 7:30. Had a dude playing guitar and singin' tunes. It was a bit too loud as the place was kind of empty (not enough bodies to buffer the sound) Other than that the place is great. Nice ambiance. Friendly, speedy wait staff. Very good food and a fantastic selection of whiskies. Wine and beer selection, less so but perfectly acceptable. It's pricey but well worth putting it into your dining out rotation.

Charming place well lit. Wonderful place has a amazing burgers awesome place. My order came fast and the drinks were wonderful.

Whiskey Inferno is a nice option for non-chain restaurant dining in Savage. My husband and I usually go for a few cocktails and an app as the entrees are a bit overpriced. That said, their cocktails are SO good and they mix up their cocktail menu. It's got a fun ambiance/atmosphere and the decor makes it feel a little edgy. It gets pretty crowded on weekend evenings so prepare to wait a bit. Plenty of parking though. Whiskey Inferno is a great spot for a date night or to meet up with friends!

Heard about this place and wanted to check it out. Servers attitude was rotten. We felt like we were not welcome from the moment we were seated and that we were an inconvenience to her. Extremely rude. We will never be back.

Great service and amazing food! My family and I just ate here Saturday night outside on the patio. We loved the fire pits in the center of the table! Great touch! Our waitress was great, very personable and helpful! She even changed the collage football game that was on so we could watch while we ate! Out of the different food items we tried, the beer can chicken was TO DIE FOR! Literally life changing. Highly recommend.

We were so excited to try this spot, but it didn't quite live up to our expectations. Originally, we were going to visit Saturday afternoon but noticed their 1/2 off Steaks and Whisky after 9pm on weekdays, so we went right around 9pm on a Friday. It wasn't particularly busy, even with this stellar promotion. The whisky list was WILD! 7 pages?! Talk about overwhelming, but in a good way. When we tried to order our whisky, we were advised our preferred options were (or likely were) unavailable. Ultimately, we were able to find a couple we were interested in, and at the 1/2 off price - they were certainly worthwhile. The Brisket Artichoke dip was tasty, however not particularly flavorful. We enjoyed it, but it wasn't what we expected it to be. The steaks were sufficient, but not the most tender -- they didn't have the marbling you come to expect with a ribeye. One came out under cooked and they were prompt to cook it to our preference. The bleu cheese topper was a nice complementary flavor to the steak. The chosen sides were alright, but nothing to run back for. Honestly, the mashed potatoes were the star of the show. They were creamy and garlicky - we couldn't get enough of them! Overall, we love the concept and appreciate the deals after 9pm on weekdays.

Part of a group of restaurants from the same owners all in the south metro, Whiskey Inferno is my go to local place for late night 1/2 off steaks entrees & 1/2 all their whiskey menu offerings (4-5 pages worth) daily starting at 9pm. That means their steaks are discounted down from $37-40 to like $18-20 including two sides. Ribeye (14oz) and NY strip (12oz) are the value options. I usually ask to substitute the mashed potatoes (while still good) to any of the sides on the menu. All sides are actually very good including the artisan glazed carrots, sautéed green beans, baked beans with beef brisket, sweet potato fries, or onion rings (slight up-charge for onion rings but very tasty). Have had the nachos (huge), chicken wings, crab cakes, popovers, beer can chicken - good but not why I come here. Patrons can also rent liquor locker on site for their own liquor to consume when they come to dine.

One Word: Impressive I had one of the best dining experiences here and will be returning anytime I am visiting the area. The food was flavorful with generous portion sizes and the personalized service was a standout for me. Their late-night specials are amazing and beyond worth giving them an initial visit, you will not be disappointed. For Steak and/or Whiskey Lovers, this is a must-try! Fantastic! Easyvreservations, great service, excellent with not typical foods. I had a brunch skillet with elk sausage. There was Nothing that was not great.

Very nice waitress Renee. But food was at best just warm. Mashed potatoes were cold. Brisket cold. chili warm . ribs cold but grandaughter ate them anyway.

The grub hub should not be used. I ordered, wasn't ready almost an hour after it was ready, according to grub hub. I drove to pick up my order. It was cold. They re made my order. No butter, no blue cheese dressing. I will never order through grub hub again. I'm so not satisfied.

I cannot begin to recommend this place enough!! We went here for a date night after several other visits didn't go as planned. It was extremely busy so would definitely recommend getting a reservation ahead of time. We were sat on the opposite side of the bar and it was a snug and cozy feeling with the bookshelves near us! Literally everything we had was incredible - the drinks, the food, the service. We're already planning our return visit! My husband loved the smoked Manhattan that came in the box and the fallen apple was so wonderful. Absolutely would recommend the wings to start! I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu.

Had a wonderful experience at Whiskey Inferno! A friend and I decided to try the nearby restaurant since I hadn't been there before. Transformed from an Applebees but you wouldn't really be able to tell for the interior changes besides the layout of the restaurant. The decor is sleek and they had a cool wall of liquors displayed on the far wall behind the bar. To being I chose to order the Underwood cocktail. It reminded me a lot of a Paloma but more complex. They flavor was great and refreshing! We started off with the Buffalo chicken dip as a starter and oh my gosh it was delicious! Buffalo dip is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint! It had plenty of chicken throughout, it was extremely creamy and had a melted cheese crusted topping. This would be easy to share for a group of 4 as well. For my meal I opted to go with the Crispy Clucker Club - say that ten time fast haha. It was pretty good. The chicken tenders were crisp and obviously hand breaded which I liked! I would've preferred a little more of the pesto but that just my opinion. The fries were very crisp and had good flavor. My friend chose to order the Bacon Double Mozz Burger and omg that thing looked amazing! It had a giant friend mozzarella "patty" on top of the burger and had plenty of the bacon jam to make it a super flavorful burger. He really enjoyed the burger and also got a surprise with his meal! Apparently if you order the signature burger at this time they throw in complimentary pork belly bites, those were delicious! Throughout the rest of our meal I ordered a Tequila old fashioned, this drink was phenomenal. Was dense with flavor but nothing too over powering and had a slightly sweet finish, I think this is my new favorite drink! Overall our experience went very well and I will definitely be back in the future!

Whiskey Inferno was a great place to eat on a Saturday night! We called ahead for a reservation but were told we could walk in and be seated. The four of us got there around 6pm and were able to be seated right away. They have bar seating and bar tables in the middle of the restaurant. The surrounding areas are regular party booth and table seating. The service was very good and we didn't have to wait long to get our food! What we ordered: -The Smokes Wings Dry rub and asked for the sauces on the side. You get five wings but wow they were very large! -Brisket Grilled Cheese This sandwich comes with a lot of brisket! I had so much I took some home. -Full Rack of Ribs Very good and again a lot of meat on the ribs! This location is great and easy accessible. The staff were very nice and welcoming. We will be returning!

Went tonight to celebrate my hubby's bday. Service was excellent but the food was less than par. I had the $22 lobster roll. Marginal at best. Cheese curds for an app would have been better at the state fair by far. My husband had the brisket which is his favorite cut and it was extremely fatty. And the side of Mac and cheese was warm not hot. We spent a total of 1 hour there tops. When you order your food is there within minutes meaning it is all predone and sitting there. No freshness whatsoever. Prices are very high for the quality of food. we won't be going back.

This is one of my favorite places. The food has always been good no matter what we've gone, although we usually get the steak and potatoes. Their drinks are good. The service is friendly and personable especially the bar tender who normally has been our server as well. The ambiance has been quiet and nice the times we have been there. I don't recommend sitting at the table close to the door during the winter months though for obvious reasons.

It is a lodge like ambiance with a huge whiskey bar with glowing row upon row of so many I lost count. It was a phenomenal sight from our table. A true delight for whiskey connoisseur We had half rack ribs each. The food came very fast no time to enjoy salad. Pricey; service good; Book lined shelves between our table and bar. I did not get that theme Ample parking; takeout; large portions. Served on metal trays I imagined something else like a fireplace ..some other theme. I just was not into it Would we go back. Not likely. .

The food was delicious. The service was excellent. They were friendly and helpful with our food order. The restaurant is comfortable and has a rustic feel. We enjoyed our meal very much.

Had a late lunch with a friend here and 200% I will be coming back. I bet this place is swamped on weeknights and weekends. Beautiful bar in the center of the restaurant. The drinks AND food are amazing. The smoked ribs (inhouse) were delicious, but the pasta was my favorite..oh my! My waiter and the person he was training were fabulous. If you're out in SAVAGE, MN, must must visit. Psss...get an OLD FASHION. Yum!

Of course good meat! Ordering sides is annoying. Waiter more interested in talking to co-workers than ever coming back to our table. No water refills or nothing. Kinda embarrassing because I brought out of state visitors.

Food is always on the rare side, especially the meat... but if that's what you're looking for then this is your kind of place

I'll pass on another visit to WI. I was expecting more of an upscale steakhouse with a hip bar. Rather it was more like a "Steak Ranch." Seating is very very close together and certain dining areas were way too loud due to restaurant music. We had a great funny waiter but even he couldn't cook the food too. Ordered medium rare NY strip and got a piece that was closer to rare with center red and cool. If you have no other options I would sit at the bar. I'll pass.

We went here for a birthday dinner and it was great. We had our own little nook near the bar, definitely social distanced from others. It was very cozy. The birthday boy tried a whiskey. I had a drink called Test of Time. Not being much of a whiskey fan, I found it quite smooth. For dinner I had pan seared walleye with Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. The relish on the fish had a little bite to it. Very good. Others at the table had a mushroom Swiss burger, fillet, ribeye and, of course, we had to try the beer can chicken. Everything was very good. The beer can chicken was something to behold. It was huge. Every time it was brought to someone's table, it was fun to see the reaction of the guests. The chicken was extremely good tasting. We enjoyed the evening very much. Service was a little slow but we were ok taking our time. Everyone not eating was masked.

Wow! What a great place! The 4 of us got seated right away and just in time for the end of happy hour. They have great appetizer and drink deals and of course we took advantage of that. Drinks were yummy and the food was so tasty! If came out in a timely manner and was showcased well. We order meals and loved those too! Our server was nice and very accommodating for our needs! The wall of whiskeys was fun to look at and the bathroom signs are a good laugh!

Absolutely love the vibe of this place. It's the perfect date night spot with delicious cocktails & an extensive whiskey selection. Our favorite time to go for food is weekday lunch, they have great deals with generous portions. We haven't had the best experience with dinner so we stick to drinks & apps & have loved the experience. There's not a lot in the way of gluten free so be prepared for a limited selection!

Went here for a second time during their late night happy hour. We got the half price steaks. $40 steak for $20. This was the best steaks we have had in a long time. Better than Manny's. We found our new favorite steak place. Service was great too.

Customer service was great but the food was bland and the mash potatoes was salty. It'll taste better if the brisket was moist and have more flavor and softer. The Mac n cheese was dry and need more flavor, the mash potatoes was very salty. The lobster roll was dry and need more flavor.

Mid steaks that either come out blue or medium when you order rare. Cold mac and cheese, and stolen pics on social media to promote their own food. (Stolen from another restaurant based in Texas, I called them out of FB and never got a response even though I posted the proof) The only bright side is the service is typically very good. 3/10 would not recommend, between the average food and scummy social media practices it's hard to support this "business"

Use to be a solid 5 for happy hour. Then they updated their HH times to only go to 5pm and removed most the HH menu options. Killed HH and now we don't go much. But : Cocktails are great. 5 out of 5. Food is solid. 4 out of 5. Kid food is great. 5 out of 5 Their indoor/outdoor hybrid space is great. Disappointment with the changed Happy Hour makes me sad. :)

Love the beer and a bump option where you can order a beer and a shot of alcohol to go with! Very fun specialty whiskey bar with an awesome happy hour. We ordered two nachos for the group. 241 on certain drinks for happy hour also!

This is a great new place that you must check out! I loved my shrimp and grits - amazing and soo much flavor! We also got the Ceasar salad and I wasn't a fan. It comes as a big head of lettuce that you have to chop yourself. I might as well eat at home. My friend ordered the Jackfruit Carne Asada tacos. I had never heard of Jack fruit before but these tacos were amazing! Spicy and juicy and everything delicious. Environment is nice! Cool decor!! Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu.

Well, a manager reached out to me... I reached back out and have heard nothing at all. I reached out again and same thing. Normally when they say you will hear from someone, you don't expect it to be 5 months. Very disappointed and my 1 Star has to stand I guess as there isn't an option to drop it to zero. Looks like the service matches the culinary abortion-like food we were served.

I've been here a few times when visiting relatives nearby and the service and food have always been fabulous. Most recently, I visited with a group of 12. The waiter was calm and composed and checked in with our table frequently. When we finished dining, we requested the tab be split several ways and the waiter did so flawlessly without a single error. If you have never had a popover, this is the place to order it from! It's crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. It even comes with honey butter. Half of my group ordered the dry rub chicken wings and had raving reviews about them. They are smoked first and then fried- phenomenal taste!

The drinks and the food we had here was all great! A huge selection of whiskey and staff that is knowledgeable to recommend drinks/whiskeys. I got the lobster roll because I wasn't in the mood for bbq and I really liked it! It came with a lot of pickled onions, but they are easy to take off. The Mac and cheese was so delicious as well.

We visited here in November l. They had plenty of room for distancing. They set up an outdoor patio with tenting to accommodate everyone. They have ample parking. They have a large menu, both food and drinks. Their whiskey drinks are good, and their whiskey selection is impressive! Food was decent.

I've been coming here for years and never gave a review but yesterday came with 6 people. Party of 6 has automatic 20%. The worst part is 20% was charged on a normal price items not promotional. How does that make sense. You pay tip based on a normal price not a price of food that you are running promotion on? It's like paying sales tax on regular price item not what the item's price is. Horrible! I'll be changing places. Businesses like restaurants are fading out and pulling this kind of shi.. will definitely not help to bring customers back, like us every weekend spending close to half a G every time.
