Whiskey Joe's Bar & Grill - Miami

Two stars for 1. Food was good 2. View was great. Minus three stars for bad service, long wait time for food, and photos advertised did not show the actual menu item served. (I added their Instagram photos vs. Our order) The waiter was terrible. Never refilled drinks and we were there for over an hour. Other tables were growing irritated as well. We had to ask 4 different people to get our check. We waited 20 minutes to have our order taken, and 45 minutes more for a burger and fish sandwich. The view was the saving grace of having to wait so long. Many people did not have masks on inside.

I had a very peculiar experience as I have several food allergies couldn't eat much (just a salad) but servers were SO kind in trying giving something safe. I really appreciated their efforts, cannot recommend for those with with allergies but definetely for all the others! Who was with me had burger and chicken wings and said they were very good.

Nice place and atmosphere. I Love margaritas, I tasted passion fruit and watermelon. We enjoy the place with our kids. You must order your food at the bar and go pick it up when it's ready.

Wow what a day we had! We walked in after a horrible day and being in an accident and being extremely hungry. When we walked in and Yanki saw the look on our face. He didn't turn us away even though you were about to close. He told me "I got you" and went above and beyond for me, my wife and four children. Prior to coming to this establishment, we tried the Rusty Pelican. We had no problem spending money for good food. But we were told it was an hour and a half wait and treated like less than human by their rude staff at Rusty Pelican. The atmosphere, the food and the service was still worth a $130 bill with a $100 tip! Yanki, you sir are an amazing waiter and person. You deserve to be in management with the way that you served our needs, our wants and our hunger. Not only did you care about us but this establishment had way better attitudes and service than an upper class snooty money hungry place like the Rusty Pelican. Keep up the amazing work! Oh and make sure you buy the jerk chicken sandwich. Best taste of the south ever!

Not impressed with the menu options for diversity, but what we ordered was good. Enjoyed the view of the bay and the boats. The singer that was wrapping up his set was good! I found the white chairs for the lower tables horrendous because you cannot lean back against them/they don't hold your weight.

Nice location with nice view and atmosphere. Owners are letting place go and it's sad... you have to get up from your table to place any order, need to get up to pick up your food and drinks and even your silverware after you've gotten up to order. Definitely change over the past 15 to 20 years.

The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly. The burger was good and wings too. The live music excellent. We were there on a Sunday. Definitely coming back! Oh we were offered beers on the house! The view is beautiful!!

Some of the best views of downtown Brickell and the food was amazing too. Their service is always with a smile and attracts a wide variety of crowd. Super cool place to chill out with your fam or with your buddies or coworkers.

They were great, but it looks like they have ceased operations. Website is shirt down. Too bad. Their gator and tacos were great.

Very basic bar food here, don't expect anything outstanding - you should come for the views only. Had the quesadilla for an app and the mahi mahi with rice and black beans for my entree. Both were ok, but forgettable. Service was friendly and since we came on a rainy day, no wait for a table, but sat at a very wet table outside.

Great tropical bar with a classic beach bar menu. I always go for the blackened fish tacos in flour tortillas with slaw and some chips and salsa. The vibes are great, and the drinks are always strong. You can't beat the waterfront views. You can order the full menu from the bar as well. Service can be slow sometimes, but overall it's a great place to grab a drink and a quick bite.

What beautiful views this restaurant has! it's great for sunset watching and socializing with friends. I must say it's also a good place for large groups as they do a great job, handling bills for large groups. I was a bit concerned due to my group being 20 guests.. we enjoyed different menu items and most of them were good, probably with the exception of my dish, which was the fish tacos, blackened. My tacos looked so sad and unappealing. There wasn't any fish. It was mainly corn and onions. Tortillas were terrible, chips were tasteless & so was the salsa.. I probably would not order this again or recommend it to anybody. The wings, nachos, and burgers did look great! My friends had margs & pina coladas and everyone faved about them! I would visit again, but not order the tacos!

The service here, was impeccable. The location and outdoor patio, bar and ambiance awesome! The food was ok. I got the fish gumbo, not much flavor. The grilled mahi-mahi was good, but not great. It's a great spot to get a drink, however the old-fashion I ordered was not as good. But, it overall was decent.

Beautiful outdoor seating right next to the marina. Fun to watch boats coming in and out while enjoying a cold beer and a bite to eat! The burger and sweet potato fries were yummy! Service was fast and ordering was simple.

We went to Key Biscayne to spend the day at the beach. Once we arrived we saw how dirty the water looked and all the seaweed floating around so we decided not to get in the water. After realizing swimming wasn't in the cards for us, we thought we get something to eat since it was lunchtime. I first looked at the menu online to see if it's the type of place we wanted to eat and decided it was. They offer a variety of options, something for everyone. They had a nice cocktail menu as well. We parked outside in the parking lot with no issues or fees. The staff was ok but has a lot of room to improve. There were several (4-5) people behind the bar area, where you place your order but none seemed to enthusiastic about helping you. I found it a little strange that you had to place your order at the bar, no wait staff comes to your table. When our food came, we asked about eating utensils, and the waitress mumbled and nodded her head towards the bar.We finally figured that she wasn't going to he bring us any utensils so we walked over to the bar where they had some. That was a little annoying. Not the best service. I ordered chips and guacamole and a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was just okay. They have an indoor area bar as well but that seemed dead. The best thing about this place is the location and view. Not the worst experience but there's nothing making me want to go back...maybe to have a few drinks but nothing more.

I used to love coming here, but things have taken a real downturn. For context: I came for lunch on a quiet weekday. For starters, the view of the water that used to be the main draw has been completely obstructed by overgrown shrubbery. The bar was dirty (sticky with multiple hairs stuck on), the floor was dirty (fake fingernails and dried out fruit garnish), and service was slow (but friendly tbf) even though the restaurant was fairly empty. As others have written, the food is mediocre bar food and definitely not worth the relatively high prices. Unfortunately, there's not much to recommend the place anymore.

I got the Mahi Mahi and my friend got the pork skewers, SO GOOD!!!! The view is amazing and the food was great. The margaritas were yummy and the happy hour was good as well! Definitely recommend coming here; loved the atmosphere and the meal.

To keep it short and sweet about my experience at Whiskey Joes, I feel like the nachos were a perfect example. Very underwhelming. Not to mention they ran out of sour cream... so much so that it was unappetizing. My nephew can make better nachos.

Para alguien que esté visitando MIA o de paso por poquito tiempo este restaurante es un tiro certero para llevarse la imagen del paisaje que conforman los edificios en Brickell vistos del otro lado del puente de Key Biscayne. También para una cita romántica puede funcionar o para quedar con los amigos y conversar un rato lejos del tráfico y el bullicio que hay cruzando el mar. Vayan aquí al menos una vez, que no hay otro lugar así en un gran diámetro. . .

This place was in the marina so you have a nice view of the water. There was bar seating and high tops. The fish tacos were quite good. I got two grilled mahi mahi tacos which weren't too salty like others I've had. We also got loaded island fries which were waffle fries with a bunch of toppings on top. Definitely on the sweeter side than what I'm used to for nachos but it was different and fun to try. Drinks were also good. I got a classic margarita. The bartender was also nice and attentive.

The good: The atmosphere and proximity to the water gives this place an additional star. There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor space overlooks the marina so it's scenic and breezy. I tried the fish nuggets, key lime pie and rum runner cocktail for my husband's birthday. I liked the sauce underneath the pie and I enjoyed the tart flavor and smoothness of the pie filling. The music was bumping and the atmosphere was very party-esque when I came on a Friday afternoon. The bad: The mahi nuggets were all random sizes with some of them being tiny. Some pieces were more batter than fish and it had the appearance of leftover crisps from a fry basket. It was over cooked. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like the packaged or store-bought kind. The key lime pie crust was soggy. The interesting: When we came, you had to order and pay ahead at the bar (even for food). You get a table number and then seat yourself.

We were on our way to the rusty pelican and pulled in to the wrong parking area. So glad we did! What a great experience! We sat at the bar so we could see the Ohio State football game. We were greeted by the bartender (Nicole) who took our drink orders while handing us menus. I ordered the signature salad with grilled chicken. The greens were so fresh and chicken done perfectly. My husband had the blackened grouper- it is brought in fresh each day. And the fries were perfection! It was so cool sitting outside on the deck looking out at the marina - watching them take boats in and out with these amazingly large lifts! Sadly we were told that this place will close in 10 days for good. What a loss!

Great view but there's so much more. Our server Jonathan was simply excellent. It's like he was reading my mind. The mussels app was delicious. As was my grouper sandwich. The burger was tasty but not exceptional. Very pleased.

While staying in Miami, we thought this spot sounded cool and went there to have a few drinks. The view of Miami and the water is very pretty and you can watch the people working at the marina taking boats out of the water which I thought was cool. Our server was friendly. I had a couple of beers and then tried their margarita which was tasty. My boyfriend tried a watermelon margarita and enjoyed it. We also shared an order of gator bites and they were really good as well. The only odd thing is our server kind of suddenly cashed us out when we weren't really planning on leaving right away and hadn't mentioned leaving. I know sometimes their shift may be over and I'm fine with cashing out with them before transferring to someone else, but she didn't make a mention of this nor did someone else come and check on us after so we ended up leaving after we finished our drinks. I'm sure if I'd asked, someone would have reopened a tab so it wasn't a huge deal, just odd in my opinion. Overall, it's a nice spot to relax on the patio and have some drinks or food while enjoying the lovely view.

Cooper loved his pup cup and bowl of water!! We loved the food and drinks!!! Bring your pets from the beach for a nice after swim spot!!

It was the perfect place to watch all of the games this afternoon. (Well, minus the Houston Texans game) Our service by the bartender Luz was fabulous and friendly. The icing on the cake was when Chef Jaq came out to check on us. His food was fantastic! Besides, it was fabulous to come in from the beach and enjoy the World Cup in a relaxed atmosphere that was laid back and fun.

Love this place, been going to Whiskey Joe's for years and is always a great time, food is good and the view is amazing, this last time I noticed Nicole behind the bar concocting all types of cocktails and mine were great, she was friendly and efficient, the place was packed but my drinks were right on time, she was a pleasure to deal with. I was upset because my card was lost momentarily but the manager came out and offered his support and help, didn't catch his name, I believe it is better to pay for your bill as you go because the bar can get busy, apart from my moment of discomfort I still left happy.

Went on a Holiday Monday. One bartender no waitress 1 hour to get served and I received two charges to my credit card. One was not mine. Dealing with credit card company to dispute. You should close if you can't conduct business properly.

My fiancé and I decided to try whiskey joes for the first time and was able to sit at the bar and we CANNOT say enough good things about it!!! From the food to the drinks and service, if I could give ten stars I would! Our bartender, Taylor, was amazing. So attentive and accommodating to our needs! She really made our visit worth raving about! We cannot wait to come back and enjoy another amazing date night! Thank you Whiskey Joe's!

I went with a group of 6 on a Sunday and we had such a fantastic time. Our server Luz, was amazing! She made excellent recommendations and she was so enthusiastic and personable. We absolutely loved her. For appetizers, we had the cocktail shrimp and mahi nuggets (which were AMAZING). I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich. It was fresh with the perfect spice. All the drinks were refreshing. I will definitely be coming back!

The absolute WORST dining experience of my life. My boyfriend and I just left after sitting at a table for 48 min and no one bothered to serve us. I asked the coked out bartender, and the waitress with bright red highlights each TWICE if we could please order something...ANYTHING, and if someone could please clean our table. They all looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language and just ignored me. Meanwhile, everyone around us was being served. I have never been treated like this at any establishment anywhere, EVER. Truly so bizarre. Also, the bartender kept wiping his runny nose on his shirt. Don't give this place your business. Horrible, nonexistent service and disgusting unsanitary conditions.

Was hesitant to come here for lunch because the reviews were not stellar, but we loved it!!! Came on a Wednesday right after they opened at noon. Sat outside overlooking marina and the bartender took our food and drink orders. Had the watermelon margarita, which may have been one of the meat I've ever had (I asked for it not too sweet). The coconut mahi bites appetizer might have been one of the best apps we have ever had as well. The pulled pork sandwich and tacos were delicious. Loved loved loved this place.

I have been to Whiskey Joe's more times than I would like to ever admit to. Whiskey Joe's is the perfect place to go after a day of paddling, with a beautiful view of Virginia Key and the outline of Brickell in a distance. A casual ambiance with a covered outside patio, and on warm days, there is always a gentle breeze to keep you cool. Add to that scenery and cold glass of cold beer and good food, and you may end up spending more hours there than you had anticipated. The only drawback is that, depending on who is working, the service can be slow at times. If I am thirsty, I often go to the bar and get my first drink because I never know how long the service may be. But with that first glass of beer, the waiting doesn't feel that bad.

Dog friendly with outdoor seating. Great views of Miami and the food is wonderful. I was there with Labrador Loki and it was fun.

Loved this place. It's perfect spot for a chill dinner after spending a day in Key Biscayne. The atmosphere is very casual - nothing fancy. They have great frozen drinks. I had their fried Mahi Mahi that came with plantains, rice and beans. There's a boat lift driving back and forth so if you're easily annoyed, that might bother you. Our waitress was very nice and in a good mood - didn't get her name but she was working outside on a Saturday night. Would come back for sure.

It was a beautiful Miami night and as I've crossed over the bridge to the left was Whiskey Joe's... Why not ? I said. You got a pass the first restaurant and circle around back to park. We sat on there upper deck overlooking the Moore with the boats are. One of those boats was having a full on party I wish I was at, LOL but this drink was a party in my mouth. Ww ordered the alligator bites appetizer something new.. I was feeling daring, .. we shared a cheeseburger and fries and the whiskey Joe's Miami Vice which is half piña colada and half strawberry daiquiri. The alligator bites were pretty game-y A.k.a. chewy. And only several pieces were actually chewable and tender. They need more flavor they were a bit bland so I would not recommend them. The burger was OK but the drink was very good. The scenery was the best part.

Came here on a very slow Monday for happy hour. No attention given. Drinks were simple yet slow. Didn't even stay for food. Employees seemed to not want to be there at all.

RUN!!!!! Welcome to garbage town!!!! Sat down for 15 minutes and the servers didn't acknowledge us. The place is just simply disgusting. I'm surprised that the US Health Department still allows them to stay open. Attention Governor DeSantis!!! Please have Miami-Dade county officials inspect this place. The parking attendant guy had the audacity to asked us "how was it?"... I told him "horrible service and they should close this trash can of a place. NEVER EVER AGAIN! I give this place 4 more months if that. you can thank me later. I'm a local that resides in Brickell. STAY AWAY!

Having spent a day discovering the marina here as well as the abandoned stadium, this place stood out to me. I saw that they were offering happy hour as well as tranquil views over looking the marina and the skyline of Brickell. I had already decided what I wanted (having previously browsed the menu online), so i went to order it and then was told, re happy hour there is only one dish available due to the covid. mmmm, strike one! My question is why? To be noted the covid precautions were excellent and I felt safe being outside and was sat safely away from everyone. Everyone was very spaced out, everyone wore masks, and plenty of hand sanitizer dotted around. Also the cutlery comes in a brown bag that is sealed. I ordered a standard mojito which for happy hour was a nice 7 dollars. It was pleasant enough but disappointedly imo not very boozy. I proceeded to order their Whisky Burger in Paradise burger. It came promptly within ten minutes with fries. The fries were on point with a nice crusty outside. The burger had a nice taste to it but was a bit greasy and there was not any pineapple in it, as described in the menu. This was a reason why I ordered it - as it says and I quote "rum glazed pineapple", which sounds delectable, right? No explanation was given for the obmission, and to be honest I could not be bothered to ask. Also the guava sauce made the burger pop, but it had a very funky luminous red colour to it, which seemed weird to me and seemed maybe indicative of food colouring. The food was average, service was good, but the views, ah the views...worth a visit for this alone, hence my four stars. To be honest I was thrilled just to be outside, but this review really is a 3.5 stars, but Yelp does not have this option.

Whiskey Joe's is the perfect spot if it's the kind of spot you want. Looking for a Florida Key's feel without having to do the drive? This is your place. Do not come here with high expectations of fast service though, you won't get that but you will get nice people taking care of you. There is a great view & plenty of space. Drinks are made well but honestly cocktails take a WHIIILE if they are even slightly busy. So either order as soon as you sit, stick to something simple or just have a beer. The food is pretty good but the French fries? WOW! So so good. I had the shrimp tacos, next time I will ask for the guac on the side, there was a little too much for me to be able to really taste the rest. We also ordered the Cobb salad with chicken which is marinated, grilled & chilled in-house daily, really tastey. There were also sliders & a burger on the table. The burgers were just ok. I came with the expectations I have when I eat in the keys. Enjoy the view, enjoy the weather & enjoy the quaintness of the location. I honestly felt like I was in the keys. We will be back. :)

Very nice view of the city and fun outdoor deck the drinks were good I had the margarita the food is very hit or miss and a bit over priced I specifically went for oysters but even though surprisingly it was under some reviews they had none on the menu so I had the clams in a garlic butter sauce also had a margarita they served more bar food I would recommended perhaps for drinks not so much for the food.

If you need a key largo get away but don't want to get stuck in traffic on the stretch this is your answer. Beautiful views, delicious cocktails and food. Great service!

Luz made the outing memorable for us. The gator bites are awesome, it would've been nice if they were three tacos instead of two. But I understand they recently returned to table service so that's welcome

20 mins to get greeted at the bar. Bar staff is all mad. One guy actually working...other staff is either lost of dancing...yes...dancing while all the guests are mad. Bartenders talking about walking out. Tried to order food...bar tender didn't know how to ring in any food and I watched him chase a server down to try and get them to ring it in. After about 15 mins he comes back and says they are out of something we ordered. Which was fine bc everyone around us about to walk out with the 45 min wait for food. How do you mess up a place and in such a great location? No manager in site...apparently just how they run this place

First off, I just want to highlight how amazing the food and drinks were. But, really the reason I'm leaving this review is because of how absolutely kind and accommodating the manager, Joseph was. I've never left a review for any restaurant, i've never cared or felt the need to. But, Joe made our experience so unforgettable. We arrived around 6pm and ended up staying until they closed at 9pm because we were enjoying ourselves so much. I work as a recruiter/brand manager for a notable restaurant group in Detroit and one aspect of my job is responding to reviews, such as yelp reviews like these. So, I fully know and understood every type of review you can get. That's why I felt so compelled to leave this review. We sat at a table a little bit away from others dining, which is what we wanted, since most places in Miami are loud and busy. We wanted something quiet and quaint. Joseph came over to greet us and from there sparked a wonderful conversation between he, my mom, and I. We talked for a majority of our dining experience (which i loved), we learned so much about him, he learned so much about us. We had a wonderful conversation between the 3 of us, during our experience. He also brought out the Chef, who was so wonderfully nice, for us to meet, which was so cool and something i've never experienced before. I loved that I was able to thank and tell the Chef himself how amazing the food was. We got to converse with him as well and learn a lot about him. All and all the experience was so wonderful. The staff was so kind, the food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, and the atmosphere was amazing. Everyone should dine here! We had the best time and both my mom and myself said it was the best dining experience out of all the places we've tried in Miami. Thank you so much to Joseph and to the staff at Whiskey Joe's. We can't wait to come back the next time we visit Miami!

What a great experience. Came with my son on our Spring Break. After going to the Everglades was looking for a chill spot on the water for a relaxing dinner. So happy we found this gem! An order at the counter and then sit down experience which worked great for us having a little guy. I wasn't sure how it worked at first and a manager quickly came and asked if we had been before and then explained the super easy process. Everyone we encountered was so lovely!! The Coconut Chicken was amazing! Nicole was amazing! We were waiting in line to order more and she pulled up our tab and got our order in without waiting. She was even kind enough to notice how bad my son was sunburnt and gave some solid mom advice. She was great, bartender was great, manager was great... the place was fantastic! Overlooking a marina and the city, perfect early Saturday evening!

We came on a weekday afternoon, the view of the marina and downtown Miami was stellar, food was delicious, and Nicole provided excellent service. Five stars

I suggest you come here for the view , & some drinks . The food is bad fried or not fresh . We ordered the peel & eat shrimp, They were very small the fish tacos ( mahi) had a too fishy taste weird ! The bathrooms ( lady's) discussing although my husband said his was ok

The view is nice, but my jerk chicken was horrible..absolutely awful. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He said his was good. Just go get a beer and enjoy the view. The food and service is terrible.

Best Time and Service Ever!!! Luz is an outstanding Bartender. She is Five Stars All The Way. The gator bites and fish n chips she recommended are super delicious and drinks were cold and refreshing. Experience and atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommend coming here, sit at the bar and always ask for Luz.

My husband and I meet up here regularly after he finishes the biking trails on Virginia Key. It's a nice place to have a cold draft beer in a REAL glass while still enjoying the Miami weather. The great view doesn't hurt a bit. Johnathan, the bartender, has a ready smile and a friendly demeanor - things not often found in Miami servers. Don't expect things to move quickly here. They are short-staffed like establishments everywhere.

This establishment has turned a corner.. better service & working on a new deck. Our bartender, Natalie, was very efficient & had great people skills. Another bartender or bar back, Michelle, was on point & I was I impressed with her. Both made the experience worth coming back. The food is decent enough.. I ordered the jammin jerk chicken $19 which was tasty. Also, my friend loves the signature burger $16 which great bar food. Their happy hour is actually worth the time.: chicken quesadilla $6.49 and nachos $7 so worth the $$z

Terrible service and terrible drinks. Not returning Never saw manager to help and bartenders were rude when i finally got service at bar. I waited long time and then they would go to others randomly, Unorganized, slow and rude.
