Everything on the menu is good! Came back to eat here twice during my stay. Great selection of beer and the spicy Cajun fries are still on my mind. Definitely eat here. Gluten free and vegetarian options available.

Came back after my first attempt (weeks ago) at having dinner here. Drove for over an hour and don’t regret it one bit. Totally recommend scheduling in advance. The restaurant doesn’t oficially take reservations but you can call. I had the yummiest sangria, it was seasonal, it tasted like apple pie. Food plates were yummy, we shared everything and left feeling satisfied. Ambience was good, more sporty and family friendly.

Google
Great food, awesome drinks, fried pickles and buffalo wings are delicious. Beet salad with Tuna is delicious. We were so full, we had to take dessert to go. The cookie dough marshmallow cake was amazing!

Google
I've been in the area 2 months and this is the best meal I've had since I've been here since my kitchen isn't unpacked yet. I don't like ranch and their ranch dressing is absolutely amazing! They were extremely accommodating to my gluten sensitivity.

Google
I'm so glad we tried this out. We were going to a movie nearby and saw a vegan menu item. You can change any burger to Beyond plus they have a black bean wrap. Highly recommend.

Google
Another great place. She-crab soup was on point! Sesame ginger salad with tuna, ribs and pizza. Great variety, something for everyone and we sampled the Pineapple Grenade from Young Veterans Brewery...very refreshing! Shiloh approved also.

Google
Visited on Christmas Eve and the wait was not too long and the food was delicious. Thank you for making our holiday enjoyable! The Korean BBQ ribs and wings were tasty. All of our food was great. Will definitely come again.

Google
Swung by for a quick lunch. Bartender was sweet and had good recommendations. Got the Chicken Rockefeller sandwich with Cajun fries. Good portion and taste! Lots of alcohol available and a good tap list. Tad on the expensive side but quality is good so mostly makes it worth it. I’d come back and check out more of the menu. That steak salad looked good!

Yelp
The parking is insufficient and is blocked on one end, nearly impossible to turn a pickup truck around if you get stuck. We had to park in the lot next door. Ambiance is nice. The outdoor dining was sufficient and cut the wait time by 30 minutes. The wife had the Chicken Rockefeller and it was good. My Whisky Burger was tasty, but cooked well done when I specifically asked for medium. The street corn side was very good. Our waitress was very pleasant, especially on a busy night.

Yelp
Great experience all around! The service was super friendly and helpful. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and liked them a lot. I had the smothered shrimp -- so good! I also have a gluten allergy, and they were really careful and accommodating, which I really appreciated. We'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Stopped in with my family for lunch. Nice looking place on the inside with several lunch options. I thought the food was OK. The burger was very bland and overall, everyone just said it was OK. I did get to try funnel cake fries, where were pretty tasty! Would I go back? I'm honestly not sure.

Yelp
I like this place. Open, airy, clean, very helpful wait staff. The fish and chips were ok, but it was the star of the show was the steak bites appetizer. I believe next visit I will just order a couple of those and be done. Recommend.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance were all great! Man's Best Friend drink was yummy! We all enjoyed our meals! 3 of us got the Chimichurri steak and it was very good! Tuna burger, chili, Margherita pizza, Citrus Salmon all good! But Steak Frites wasn't the best. Everything else though, perfect!

Yelp
We decided to get dinner at WK. We were seated right away which was surprising as the parking lot was packed. I thought, wow, we got lucky. Sat us down near the hostess station. Waited for more than ten minutes and not a single server acknowledged us, even though several servers walked by to other tables. No offer for a drink, and none of the pleasantries that are normal for a nicer scale restaurant. Three different servers walked by us to check on their customers but no one said a word. I kept making eye contact with the hostess that sat us down right away but no reaction from her. Three gentlemen sat down at the booth next to our table and within one minute a server was there to take their drink orders. Their drinks came and I thought for sure someone will come by our table. No luck. We finally got up and left. Our hostess said laughingly "thank you for coming". Very disappointing experience.

Yelp
It was my second time at this restaurant, the first visit we were about 20 people. With a party that big the service was pretty good the food arrived fast the servers were attentive so that was great. The food was pretty good everyone really enjoyed what they had. I agreed to check out a second time with some friends to see how the service would change from a 20 person party to a 3. The server was prompt with the drinks, we offered three different dishes and asked if they could all be split because we were all going to share they did just that the food was really good. The place had a lot natural lighting so if you're looking for dim this is not the place but they do have booth's, I like booths. Overall good experience will be back especially for that Rockefeller chicken sandwich and spicy ranch.

Yelp
My daughter and I came here on a Thursday evening for an early dinner. They were not busy so we scored a nice booth immediately. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. This was both our first time so we needed more time figuring out what we wanted. She ordered the cauliflower bites appetizer and the beet salad. She was happy with both. I opted for the veggie pizza with cauliflower crust. It was delicious! Everything was great here. The service was great. The decor was appealing and welcoming. The food was very tasty. They even have mocktails. I can't wait to go back and try more from the menu.

Yelp
My husband and I finally managed to try Whiskey Kitchen after several attempts. This time, although there was a small wait of about 30 minutes, it wasn't overwhelming like before. The restaurant is cozy with a decent mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Our waitress was friendly but a bit slow, leading to long waits for things like straws and our food. We noticed that other tables seated after us got their meals faster. We ordered the Whiskey Burger and the Tuna Burger, both with Spicy Cajun Fries. The fries were amazing. The Whiskey Burger was good but nothing special--ideal for those who like classic burgers. The Tuna Burger had bold flavors but was a bit too intense with the ginger and wasabi aioli. I ordered it rare, but it came out medium rare. Overall, Whiskey Kitchen was a decent experience. It didn't wow me, but I'd be open to trying more items from their extensive menu if I were with friends.

Yelp
Great food, amazing service. Very cool restaurant. Five people in our party, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. I got the fish tacos and sweet potato fries. I dip my fries in ranch. The fish was tuna and it was great! Would absolutely come back.

Yelp
Overall Performance: Our goal to try a new restaurant (to us) was achieved. I hadn't for a long time ate somewhere where everything was good. Our server was pleasant and informative. I would recommend and plan to return with friends. She crab soup 8/10 Lemon Pepper wings fried hard. 10/10 ( I added chimichurri sauce on them.yum) Steak Fries 9/10 Buffalo Chicken sandwich and fries 10/10 $74.00 w/out tip Happy Eating!

Yelp
We were in the Oceana area of Virginia Beach recently and we decided to stop by The Whiskey Kitchen, just off General Booth Boulevard. I really like this place. The staff is friendly and attentive without hovering, always a good thing. The food is consistently good and they have a lot of offerings on their menu for just about every craving. Admittedly, I'm a burger person and they make a good one here. It's a thick patty cook to your perfect temperature and served piping hot. Whether you like a great burger or something more adventurous like Buffalo Cauliflower(highly recommended) they really do have something for everyone.

Yelp
Great spot. The food was fresh and delicious. The ambiance was typical/ nothing flashy. The waitress was super nice and helpful.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely amazing! They have so many options for whatever you're craving. Our waitress Malika was an absolutely joy!

Yelp
Friday Night Meetup with the ladies!! Good size group! Service was okay! The place was very busy it's Friday after work of course it's busy! People love happy hour. I missed that I arrived right when it ended 6pm. Decided to try the Whisky Burger which I was told they are know for! Let's just say I wasn't impressed. The burger was cold the cheese wasn't melted at all I removed the cheese very easily! I believe the burger was a frozen patty not 100% sure buttttttt pretty sure it was. I believe it was supposed to have some sort of sauce on it, but that was missing. The best part of the burger was the onion strings or straws whatever you would like to call them. The fries were cold as well! I will say the manager was walking thru and one of my friends at the table directed him my way I shared with him my thoughts on the burger. He did offer to cook another one I refused because then everyone else would be done with their food while I would be waiting for mine. The meal was taken off my bill thank you for that. Honestly I don't think I would go back! This was my second trip there and the first one wasn't a good experience either!

Yelp
A friend and I ventured out to General Booth Blvd to check out a few shops. I recommended we have lunch at The Whiskey Kitchen since I have eaten there a couple of years ago. We were greeted at the door and given a choice of seating which was very comfortable. The menu, while not extensive, has something for everyone. We each chose a burger and fries. I know, my cholesterol was happy again. Our server was amazing. She was attentive without being overbearing. Our burgers were delicious. They were flavorful, hot, juicy, and cooked as ordered. The fries, which I seriously try not to indulge in, were delicious. I ate over half the large portion. Another positive point was the pricing. You honestly can't go get a decent burger and fries at a fast food joint for the same price. Of course leaving a nice gratuity ups the price but it is well worth it. The restroom was very clean. That is a requirement of mine. I will not return to a place that has a nasty restroom. We both enjoyed our lunch and I will be making the 20+ mile ride again soon to have another burger AND fries.

Yelp
We love Whiskey Kitchen and go there alot. The food is great, the staff is caring and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and the atmosphere is not noisy. The waiters and waitresses are more like friends then staff. I recommend it highly!

Yelp
The Whiskey Kitchen in Virginia Beach, Virginia is certainly a spot to go grab a bite at. We started our meal with Fried Pickles and Nachos. The fried pickles were fried to perfection and the house made ranch was outstanding; I would certainly recommend. The nachos were pretty good, not my favorite of the meal; I didn't really get the note of beer in the the beer cheese. It just tasted like regular nacho cheese sauce in my opinion. Furthermore, I had ordered the Tuna Burger with Sweet Potato fries which were honestly out of this world. The Tuna was seared to perfection and the meat to bun ratio was great. The only critique I would give is that the sandwich didn't have enough of the Wasabi Aioli; but other than that I would definitely get this sandwich again. Lastly, the sweet potato fries were the star of my meal. I have never had such a perfect sweet potato fry until I ate here (hands down my favorite to date).

Yelp
I met a friend here for dinner....she picked the place. They do have a parking lot so parking is easy. We went during the week right after 5. It was definitely getting busy. I was seated right away and my friend showed up shortly afterwards. Service was friendly. I did have to ask about HH because that is why I was there. I didn't really see any signage for HH but I could have missed it. We split the Buffalo Cauliflower which was delicious. I could have eaten the whole plate myself. We drank wine and my friend ordered a dinner. She liked her dinner and she recommended several things from the menu. I chose to not have anything else. This restaurant isn't convenient for me but if a friend suggested it, I would go back. I didn't really try a lot of things on the menu but the cauliflower was good.

Yelp
The Whiskey Kitchen is a decent, american food joint. We came on a super busy night (the Monday after Christmas) where people were getting 30 minute wait times. There weren't many other options open in the area, so we waited. It ended up being a bit shorter than that. We were optimistic because of how busy it was. All of the food at the tables looked good. We were sat at a booth in the dining room, where our server took good care of us. She obviously had a large number of tables but was very friendly. For appetizers, we tried the pretzel with beer cheese and the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower was the best thing we ordered by far. If I came again, I would get it as my entree. Really, it would be the only thing we come back for. The Chicken Caesar Wrap was good, as well, but not my favorite ever. Fries were served cold and the short rib entree was presented sadly. Again, nothing was bad, just not memorable!

Yelp
First time here and the food was good, no complaints here. Not crowded on a Saturday afternoon, food came out relatively quickly. I had the shrimp n grits and hubby had the steak frites. The flat iron steak was cooked well, he ordered it med rare but I think it came out medium which was fine as it was still pretty juicy and tasty. He definitely wished he knew the sauce would be all over the fries as he would have ordered it on the side. The grits were very creamy and the shrimp had a good amount of Cajun seasoning...almost too much but not inedible. Service was attentive and polite.

Yelp
This is hands down our fav burger restaurant!!! First visit we got burgers and can't stop ordering the same thing every time we come. This is our fourth visit in a month. The service is always pretty fast. The waitresses are very attentive. The burger is juicy and full of flavor and the sweet potato fries are the best in the 757
google avatar

Jane R.

Yelp
Steak was perfectly prepared! I got chimichurri steak and husband got steak fries. We both got medium and they were perfectly prepared! The steak was so tender and juicy, the flavor was spot on. I'm glad we were in the area and got to try this place out. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Whiskey Kitchen has been around for years. We have come here from the start. We usually go for dinner but recently we went for lunch. Really great service. Never once did I have to ask for a refill. Drinks just showed up. Best service I have had in a while. Fast and friendly. Food was great like always. I do love their fries. Chicken salad wrap was good. My niece got the Whisky Burger. The bacon was perfect, the fried onions ontop were crisp snd tasty, and the burger was cooked to perfection. Whiskey kitchen for the WIN They have lovely seating outside as well as high top seating, bar seating, and booth seating inside. Pretty inside with the dark wood tables and mostly painted black walls and ceiling. You should see the menu for the beer on tap. EXCELLENT. They have a great whiskey menu with lots to choose from 5 star for sure

Yelp
I've visited The Whiskey Kitchen only a few times but the last time I went, I had the Sesame Ginger Tuna salad and I was hooked ever since so when I was craving a salad this week, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. Thankfully, there was no wait (perks of going out to eat during the week lol) so we were able to walk right in and get a table. Since I was really hungry, we ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower Bites as an appetizer and they were really delicious. I loved how big the chunks of cauliflower were and the Buffalo sauce wasn't too spicy at all. It's served with two types of dips, one was the blue cheese dressing and I'm not sure which the other was but both were very good. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Salad Wrap which he said could've used more flavor but I ordered the Sesame Ginger Tuna salad which was superb. I was thankful that the waiter asked how I liked my tuna cooked instead of just assuming how I wanted it and I did order it Medium cooked. The salad is served with the sesame ginger dressing on the side which I love but I did need extra because the one wasn't quite enough. Overall, I love the vibe of Whiskey Kitchen and their staff is very friendly. The next time I go, I'm going to try something new on the menu but if you are looking for a great salad, please head over to Whiskey Kitchen. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
I visited here around 8pm on a Sunday evening with a friend. The ambiance was nice. There wasn't many people present. There is a full bar and many beer options. The waitress came over a couple minutes later after being seated in a booth and took our drink order. We both got waters. While reviewing the menu, I noticed two bbq sauces, one is the house and the other is Korean. The waitress had trouble verbalizing the differences, so she brought out both to taste. They were both delicious. I ordered boneless Korean bbq wings as an appetizer. I was going to get baby back ribs as an entree but waitress stated that they ran out of ribs. I ended getting shrimp and grits instead. My friend got chicken tenders and fries. The order was placed around 8:12pm. The appetizer came around 8:25pm. The wings were somewhat overcooked. It was hard to stick fork in it. I also noticed that bbq sauce didn't entirely cover most of the wings. The entrees came around 8:30pm. The timing between the two was very minimum. My shrimp and grits were on the warmer side than hot. It was delicious to me. However, there want much food for it be $24. There were a lot of toppings, which was fine for me. However, it could be overpowering for others. Overall, the experience was okay. We were out by 8:50pm. Maybe the mediocre experience was due to them about to close at 9? However, that shouldn't dictate the service given to customers, in my opinion. I'm interested in trying the ribs, so I would come back for that. I would've enjoyed the boneless wings more had they not been over cooked. I wish my shrimp & grits were more. It wasn't very filling, to me. The staff was super friendly and nice. I assume it was a slow day as I overheard staff discussing how little people made that day. As I was leaving, I noticed they do have outside seating.

Knox A.

Yelp
Dont even get me started on the giant pretzel. Ive been 3 times and its always fresh cripsy and hot with that amazing beer cheese (heavily recommend). Service is pretty great only took 1 star off because of this. Took on average about 20+ mins on average but its worth the wait. They have a very nice bar setup with lots of tvs for football and basketball. They have a great booth setup with a very friendly staff. Overall 8.8/10.

Yelp
Jessica served us. She was great and checked on us a lot. Maybe too many times, but I always think that's better than not enough. -Sweet expectations. 2/5 -The Spire. Strong but tasty. 4/5 -WK classic old fashion without the fruit muddled. 3.5/5 -WK classic whiskey sour. Got sent back. Weird egg whites. I think they use powdered egg whites. 2/5 -Hoptopus. Local deliciousness. 4.25/5 -chili nachos. Jalapeños aren't spicy at all. Missing other salsa. 3.25/5 -Spring rolls. Delicious. 4.5/5 -buffalo cauliflower bites. Delicious. 4.5/5 -whiskey burger. 3.5/5 -Caesar salad. Fresh lettuce. Barely any flavor for the dressing. 3/5 -tuna bites. Some pieces were definitely over cooked. Good flavor from remoulade. 3/5 -Korean bbq wings, bone-in, extra crispy. Very flavorful. Did not come extra crispy like I asked. 3/5 I've been here multiple times when on vacation. It's not consistent with food, but service is typically great. Sometimes amazing food. Sometimes just decent. Hopefully, if you go, it's a good day.

Duy T.

Yelp
Service was exceptional, I was seated hastily by friendly waiters and ordered a starter of Fried pickles and 2 steak entrees. The food came out pretty fast although there wasn't too many customers. The fried pickles were pretty nice, most places cut the pickles to chip size but this place kept them long and snappy with a very nice layer of batter. The steak and frites were honestly very good. My only complaint would be that they undercooked my medium rare steak. The Chimichurri Steak was a bit disappointing, chimichurri is usually supposed to be a bit savory with some spice but it was more acidic and kinda diluted the flavor of the steak. The mash potatoes were very light and creamy but they lacked any flavor and seasoning. Overall a pretty good spot, not a bad place to go if you're craving a modern American food.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
The WK served an amazing burger that would make you order two. The chef came out to ensure my medium well was exactly that. The locally made beer was as good as any I've had in Germany. The atmosphere at lunch really made me want to come back on a Friday or Saturday night to see how much more packed it would be. I ordered some fried pickle spears and they were great too! So good I didn't get a picture.

M E.

Yelp
Spouse went to this restaurant in order to purchase some appetizers and soup. She was given an estimated wait time over the phone of about an hour. This was acceptable due to the significance of the day. She arrived at the restaurant about an hour and fifteen minutes later and after paying she was told it would be another 20 minutes and that they would bring it out to the car. 20 to 30 minutes gone by and nothing. Spouse goes back in and hostess forgets who she is and forgets that she was supposed to bring the food out. Come to find out the food was sitting on the counter the entire time, now cold. Not worth the $90 plus dollars spent.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
Always busy and always good! Whiskey Kitchen never disappoints. The pizzas are cooked to perfection and their key lime pie is DECADENT!

Cheandri A.

Yelp
Our server was fantastic, but we were really disappointed to see that the braised short rib - our favorite menu item - is no longer on the menu. We'd love to see it make a comeback!
google avatar

Elyse H.

Yelp
Service was really great and so is their drink menu. Food was great as well. 4 stars and not 5 only because I wish they had more tap options for hard ciders. I like to have a mixed drink usually and then a cider, but that's just me
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
oh yes, The Whiskey Kitchen. This place to us, has it all. It has vibe, it has character, it has ambiance, it has a great selection of delicious food and beverages and of course... Whiskey! It is kid friendly but yet you could have a date night here. You can hang with friends Bar side and have a stress free time or you can sit as a family in the booth area. The bar is my favorite spot that wraps around and such a great place to sociallize. At night, it can have that adult feel to it as well making it perfect for a decent hang on any night or weekend. One of our favorite spots on this side of town and definitely worth visiting.
google avatar

K F.

Yelp
I've been coming to WK since they opened. It was always high quality and presentation was on point. Lately things have gone down. Just one example the app steak skewers, how do you have steak skewers without the skewers? Funny question I know. Presentation is everything. Consistency is another. You must have recipes. Do your employees not follow. Sometimes good sometimes Spivey sometimes bland, it's always a shot in the dark. If it was not for certain servers.... Cass, AK, Rachael, Maya. There are too many restaurants in the Red Mill area to be screwing up on what used to be the best place in town.

Tim B.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the food here is good, but every time I sub a Beyond patty on one of their burgers (which costs extra), it comes out on a plain ciabatta roll with no cheese regardless of which burger I choose. This happens every time. Tonight was the last straw when the waiter actually argued with me about what I ordered. Every time the manager has to come out and explain why this happens, but after this time I'm done.

Everett S.

Yelp
Loved the food, we shared a cauliflower pizza and had our own salads. Our server was super nice and we they had a lot of different beers on tap to choose from!

Darla C.

Yelp
Very good food. Friendly wait staff. Nice atmosphere. They have tall tables and booths but also regular size tables and booths which I, as a short person, appreciate.
google avatar

Ted S.

Yelp
Menu has a lot to offer. Fish & Chips were the real thing, not just breaded fried fish. Great service. Rachel brought second glass of sweet tea and a to go cup for what I did not finish! Will be back.

Yelp
We ended up here on a whim because my son wanted a burger. The staff were very welcoming at the door. We ordered the buffalo chicken spring rolls and my sons burger meal. The burger came out.. forgot to get a photo and it was huge. They did not cheap out with a kiddie sized portion. It was a great value for the price. The fries were excellent. The spring rolls were delicious. I am from western ny so I have had everything from egg rolls to wontons in buffalo wing form but never spring rolls. These were perfect. The ranch dipping sauce was a nice touch. Not traditional buffalo ny (we usually have blue cheese) but a good counter balance. My husband had the Rockefeller sandwich which he said was alright, but he ate it all. It was messy. The sauce on top was plentiful so some hit the plate. I had the strawberry salad with added chicken. The salad was a great balance between sweet from the strawberry and dressing on top of spring mix which can have a slight bitter to it from the lettuce mix, it had diced red onion and large julienne of cucumber and nutty pecans. The chicken was cold so it didn't heat the salad up.

Josh C.

Yelp
Been twice now with my fiancée and delicious every time. Probably my favorite burger and beer spot in the area.

Asia D.

Yelp
Our waiter, Dylan, was great. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower bites for appetizer and they were really delicious. We also ordered the Coconut Mint to be cocktail. For entrées, we got the barbecue chicken sandwich and smothered chicken with a side of sweet potato fries... My favorite! This was only my second time to this restaurant, but I will be back for sure.

Yelp
Very nice and enjoyable. Food was above average. Prices were great. Service was excellent. I had a custom made burger with blue cheese and onion straws. It was a perfect medium rare. Restaurant was clean and inviting. I would definitely go back.

Autumn V.

Yelp
Food and drinks were great Never thought a BBQ glazed salmon would be good, but I often find myself drifting off and daydreaming about it.

Yelp
Great burgers and bourbon. Lots of fun drinks to choose from. Very friendly wait staff.

Yelp
Came in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I believe our server was also our bartender - she did great with both positions! BF had the featured maple old fashioned with Jefferson's small batch (bourbon lovers, this is a great variety). It was a nice drink! (Pictured drink is mine, a Grey goose and cranberry) For starters, we opted for the bronzed tuna bites. They were nicely seasoned - a little overdone, we asked medium-rare but more medium than we wanted. Accompanying remoulade was nice. We both chose to "eat healthy" and each ordered the big steak salad. I love acid (not the lysergic kind) so I ate mine with their mustard vinaigrette. BF had bleu cheese dressing, which added to the existing bleu cheese already on the salad. The steak itself was nicely cooked to medium rare as requested, and the greens were crisp and fresh. A nice topping that I didn't intend to eat and put aside (but ate anyway bc they were delicious) were their fried straw onions. Lots of variety of food and spirits to choose from. See you next time, WK!

Yelp
Whiskey Kitchen is in the same class of restaurant as Kelly's or Finn mccool's. It has a relaxed but slightly upscale atmosphere and it serves a solid selection of drinks. Most of the food admittedly is burgers or specialty items but it's things that go well with the drinks that they serve. I've been to this location maybe 6 or 8 times over the last 5 years. The wait staff are always Pleasant and efficient. The price is about right for what you get which is a nice change of pace compared to some places like Yardbird which gets you the same thing but for about plus 50%

Ryan ..

Yelp
Had lunch service here on Valentine's Day with my wife. Exceptional service from our waitress Kimmie who was very attentive when we needed drinks or looking for suggestions for new things to try on the menu. She didn't hesitate to give us her top suggestions. I've been going here for years and ironically this was the best meal that I've had here with the chicken Rockefeller! Thanks Kimmie!
