A most beautiful shout out to Ms. Alexis. Ms. Jasmine and Mr. Toni !!! You guys specifically made my birthday a grand success. It’s amazing how great service creates an entire atmosphere a success or an entire different scenario. Thankfully these wonderful individuals were so down to earth and energetic making my birthday a fun time. Live music at the bar made to experience so much better. I’m a sucker for live music honestly. We had a French 75 and shrimp and grits . Both were equally delicious. Thank you

The drinks are great, and they have several happy hour times. The food is good, but the whiskey cake is delicious. Great place to have dinner with friends or for a romantic date. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming again very soon.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Studio in the lobby of the Hotel, a Marriott property, while meeting with a client, and our experience was significantly enhanced by the exceptional service provided by Leah. From the moment we settled at our high table, Leah approached us with a warm smile, ready to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. Leah’s professionalism was immediately apparent. She possessed an impressive in-depth knowledge of the menu, particularly the various meat options. Her enthusiasm when discussing the different protein choices drew us in, and her suggestion was spot on—it was delightful! Leah clearly understands the nuances of the dishes, and her ability to articulate the ingredients and preparation methods made our experience even more enriching. What I found particularly impressive was Leah’s ability to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. Despite the bustling atmosphere of the lobby, she ensured that we felt like valued guests. Leah struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and space, checking in at all the right moments without interrupting our conversation. Her friendly demeanor created a relaxed environment that allowed us to focus on our meeting. Leah’s attention to detail truly stood out. She was diligent in ensuring our coffees were always topped off (despite the fact that the Coffee show was already closed for the day: Outstanding! ) and that we had everything we needed throughout our time there. Her commitment to outstanding service was evident and made our experience smooth and enjoyable. If you find yourself at the Marriott Dallas Renaissance Hotel in Plano, make sure to seek out Leah. Her professionalism, extensive knowledge of the menu, and genuine ability to connect with guests will undoubtedly enhance your dining experience. Thank you, Leah, for your exceptional service and for making our meeting memorable!

18 bucks a drink!! If you can get past the pricey food and drinks in a hotel lobby, the atmosphere was exceptional. Especially for a quick meet and greet. Weather it was 2 or 10, it looks like you would be very comfortable here. Even had the games playing on several monitors.

Whiskey Moon Legacy West at the Renaissance Hotel in Plano is an exceptional dining experience. The salmon tacos were divine, with perfectly seasoned and cooked fish that just melted in the mouth. The brisket flatbread was another standout, rich and flavorful. Their wine selection is top-notch, offering a variety that suits all palates, from the casual wine drinker to the seasoned connoisseur. The waitresses were amazing – attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, which greatly enhanced the overall dining experience. The ambiance is beautiful, with a decor that is both elegant and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a romantic evening, a business dinner, or a special occasion with friends. I can't recommend Whiskey Moon Legacy West highly enough – it’s a Plano gem that should not be missed!

I've been here before and eaten and had cocktails, the food is tasty and the drinks have been average. The service is generally sub- par, with the exception of the last two times I've been there. I had a new bartender/server (Stormy) who was actually the nicest one I've ever had there. She provided excellent costumer service, and made decent cocktails as well. She actually made you feel welcome to the bar and answered any questions I had about the hotel and area (I stay at the hotel when in town). Her customer service is a reason I will return to have a meal or drink, she's a great addition to this establishment especially since of the average service I had prior to her. Update: Rosa was a great bartender too! Made excellent cocktails and was very social! Such a great place to grab a drink!

For St. Patrick’s weekend me and my buddy headed to Legacy West. We decided on Whisky Moons, a bar located in the Renaissance hotel. It’s actually a nice open space with rustic, modern decor including spurs on the ceiling. I ordered plain wings with coconut rum and coke. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and mocktail. It was light fare compared to what we normally order but decent. The bar was not terribly busy and yet the service was severely lacking. There was no smile offered from the bartender and definitely no urgency with taking our order. At one point I’d shared someone had shattered their drink which needed to be cleaned before others slipped and possibly injured themselves. There seemed to be no urgency in this matter either. It was concerning. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this venue.

While staying at the hotel, we went down to have a few cocktails before going out for the night. The ambience is nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. We didn't try out any food but cocktails as we went out for dinner. Once we came back we ordered the same drinks but we saw the lack of consistency in the glasses used, presentation and the taste. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Yelp
The Legacy West area is a popular place with quality, upscale restaurants and bars. Whiskey Moon is a hidden gem located inside the renaissance hotel that eclipses many nearby with their name on the doir. They have a tasty menu of light, medium priced Korean/Texan fusion cuisine. And a great selection of signature craft cocktails. My favorite is the old fashioned. Often this drink can vary depending on who makes it but not here. I find the quality consistent and probably the best taste in the entire area. Don't miss their daily 5:00 happy hour ritual when they sound the gong and pass out free samples! Service has always been prompt with competent, attentive staff.

Yelp
Went to whiskey Moon for a cocktail and appetizers while staying in the hotel. At 5 o'clock on a Saturday . Waited 30 minutes before we left without being offered any service. two employees at the bar chitchatting and didn't bother to offer a meno or cocktail. Lobby bar layout is odd. You walk right past a breakfast buffer at 5 pm that is not set up on your way to the lobby bar. Unappealing- hide back of house.

Yelp
The food was very good and the server was nice, nice looking environment the wait was pretty lengthy considering there was only two people being served, and I had to get my dessert to go so I wouldn't miss my shuttle when I had given myself an hour to eat.

Yelp
Lets be clear...you are here because you are trapped in Legacy West. Seating is generally uncomfortable. Service is slow and mediocre if not confused. Ask for "a peaty whiskey" and we got a confused answer as she said "Pete?" in return and then told us to just look at the bottles behind her and pick something. The place is called "Whiskey Moon"!!! At least they had (and offered) the large artisanal ice cube for the pour. It's even more odd as the hotel this bar is in is rather fantastic...so there's a gap somewhere at the logistics. They do serve food here till almost closing...so if you need a late night bite, they can accommodate.

Yelp
I came here last night for a late snack with some friends. Been here several times, it's a good lounge to hang out in and I must say, they make excellent Old Fashioneds. This is a fun place and had live music going on when we arrived. It's inside the Renaissance hotel and not very visible from the street. The place has dim lighting and comfortable seating. Several TVs and interesting, yet eye pleasing decor. I ordered the meatballs and a beef yakitori dish. Very tasty and came out quickly. Our server was Liz, she was excellent, very attentive and quick. Always with a smile and very polite. our drinks and food were handled very well. There was another lady as well, not so nice, but Liz more than made up for that. I recommend this place and will of course be back. Did I mention they make excellent Old Fashioneds?

Yelp
What a fabulous bar in a fantastic hotel. I was able to attend the weekday Punch Ceremony which is so fun. The Bartender concocts a fun complimentary punch which is served promptly at 6pm and they bring out a gong (which I got to ring, by the way, I was feeling FANCY. Bartenders & staff were all very friendly & helpful during my stay. I had no problems with the staff at all, contrary to the other reviews. Loved the ambiance of the bar overall. The weather was bad so I wasn't able to go out on the patio right off the bar but it looks like it would be amazing in great weather.

Yelp
We stopped here for a drink in one of our bar hop runs. The ambience is nice and I've asked to make a specialty drink and it came out very good and tasty. Our bartender wasn't really friendly, I saw her roll her eyes couple times after she got orders from people... I don't know if she just had a bad day or what, but it felt and looked rude and inappropriate, especially when you work at the bar... so I'll give it a benefit of a doubt that it's not always like that at this bar :)

Yelp
I have to say, that this bar received a higher rating because of the bartender, Amanda. She was fantastic. As a recent trained sommelier, she was knowledgeable and willing to go through a few different wine options for me to try. I ended up going for an Orin swift wine that was part of the "premium" selection. The con, I didn't realize you only get a 5oz pour instead of 6oz - I wish I would have known that. I ordered the Caesar salad with the grilled shrimp (Amanda recommended me going with the shrimp as my added protein), and wow the shrimp were amazing. The con of the salad was they gave it to you in-chopped. So with extra effort I had to sit and cut the large pieces of lettuce so I could consume my salad, which I was not happy about. I also ordered the chocolate mousse cake for dessert which I was very disappointed in. Amanda suggested I try the pies instead, but craving chocolate I opted for the cake. I should have listened to Amanda! The cake was not very moist and was just bland. Not what I was looking for. The bar ambience was great and inviting. Definitely a good spot to come to and unwind after a long day.

Yelp
Stormy was absolutely AMAZING! Extremely personable! She made fantastic beverage recommendations and her service was impeccable! Thank you Stormy for a memorable experience at Whiskey Moon!

Yelp
Out of everything. Super crowded and we waited almost 30 min before even being acknowledged. I asked for 3 drinks and before finally Finding something that had available. Absolutely ridiculous. Bartender was rude. Trying to enjoy our one night away and this place was pointless.

Yelp
Drinks were just okay. Definitely not worth the price. Service was good, but slow. Much better whiskey bars around especially for the price.

Yelp
The servers were more intent on keeping each other company vs doing their job. Impressive ambiance, great happy hour but will not be coming back. Only a few people in the bar with an abundance of servers and still no service.

Yelp
I really loved this hotel, which makes writing this review bittersweet. First time I go to the bar I ask for a bar menu and nothing shows up. So I give up on waiting, and order two random draft beers and a water. I leave a $5 on the counter and an ipad shows up to look at drinks. As I'm browsing the drinks I look away from the ipad, my $5 tip is very quickly taken by the bartender along with the ipad. Hmmm, that's ironic how some service is slow, but taking a tip is quite rapid. I go to the bar a 2nd time. I order four waters and a glass of Chardonnay. The bar tender rapidly pours the waters. Someone in the large private party hits the "Gong" in the bar area, it's impressive. The bar tender tells me that the "Gong" means open bar is now closed. I urge him to fulfill my wine order since it was placed prior to the "Gong". He disagrees and adds a new excuse that the wine I ordered is expensive and he can't give me that. Meanwhile, my $5 tip rapidly disappeared into his pocket, again. This is where a good bar tender would have told me that my wine wasn't included before any drinks were made, being transparent. I argue with him about his lack of clarity on his excuses, and point out that he was more than happy to grab the tip I left for the drinks I ordered but didn't fulfill. He then threw it out on the bar for me to take. He spoke rather hostile. I left the $5. My husband asked the manager about this and she told him that the "Gong" did not mean the open bar was closed, but it was last call. She was not sincere in her apologies for her bartender's behavior. I won't be going to Whiskey Moon again.

Yelp
GREAT AMBIANCE and DECOR! Great Drink Selections although we were never given a Drink Menu! We walked into the Bar area, no Greeting. We were going to sit at a side table but realized quickly that server wasn't going to come around from the Bar to serve us, mind you there were 4 people in the entire bar. Sat at the Bar still no greeting but I guess willing to serve us. Enjoyed a couple of Double Scotch Whiskys and a Crudite. Overall this place could be one of the very best places to enjoy a Night Cap in Plano if they focused more on the Service. Also some Live Music would really make it memorable.

Yelp
Whiskey Moon is the hotel bar for the Renaissance hotel at Legacy West. However, they do have an extensive and growing whiskey selection. Service was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of their whiskey brands and varieties. They have also have a about a dozen "signature" cocktails. Most drinks will run you $10-15 and they have a good pour. Parking is free if you self-park in the hotel garage. The bar will validate. The entrance from the garage is super confusing though- don't get on the elevator! The back entrance to the hotel is on the G1 level through the unmarked double brown doors that look like they are service or storage doors.

Yelp
Best spot for quick cocktails and amazing ambiance. I went for my 30th and felt extremely taken care of!

Yelp
New area and swanky outdoor mall, trendy with suits filling up the space at HH . Nice decor and good drinks. Worth a visit to check it out.

Yelp
Drinks, food, and style is what gets this 5 stars. Service was good but not great. It's new though, so I assume the service flaws are temporary.

Mj C.

Yelp
I would have given them zero stars; I am a bartender, and I can tell you the drinks are VERY watered down and expensive for all the ice you get. They charged me for someone else's drinks. I got an email from management saying the tab was correct. I wrote back and explained it was not and I was happy to pay for the drinks we got. This was in Dec and to this date have not gotten a response. BAD SERVICE, BAD DRINKS, BAD ATTITUDE!!

Lynn Z.

Yelp
Only gave one star b/c service was completely unacceptable. No one else sittig at the bar and it still took over 10 minutes to get service. Bartenders were so occupied complaining and telling each other stories they could not serve. Asked for a menu... Still waiting. Gorgeous bar. But most likely will not return. Its ashamed that lack of service is acceptable here.

Yelp
Best Old Fashioned around! Presentation and smoothness of the drink is top notch! Spherical ice cube, fresh orange peel, and smoked pecan!

Yelp
Awesome venue, had a blast with the staff here. They took care of me and my date. Definitely going back for some drinks and food.

Toni M.

Yelp
I'm only giving this two stars because of the nice lady from the hotel lobby and the brussels sprouts! My colleague and I asked the lobby lady if she recommended this place or the Asian Fusion place. She said the Asian Fusion place was only serving breakfast, so she recommended Whiskey Moon. She seated us and after listening to an obnoxious gong several times, a server finally came and handed us each a menu. He disappeared and finally came back after a bit of a wait. I asked for a cocktail from the menu and my friend asked for a wine list. Inexplicably, he took her regular menu away and brought a coaster with a QR code as a wine menu. Then he walked away again to make my drink. After a looooong wait, he came back with my drink, took her wine order and took away the OTHER menu. We asked at that time if we could order Brussels sprouts.....he came back after about 15 minutes with her wine then disappeared again!! We waived him down and asked if we could order meals. We each ordered Steak and Frites....mine medium and her's medium rare. and then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. Now we were out of drinks and had no food. Eventually the nice lady from the lobby who seated us came and asked if we had ordered food. We said yes, and she said she would go find out where it was. A little bit later, another guy plopped down the sprouts and two minutes later, our food. No offer of another drink or an ask if we needed anything else. To sum it up, I had to get up and go to the bar twice....for water and ketchup, then for second cocktails. My steak verged on indelibly tough, and my friend's was almost raw. The service was awful except for the lobby lady. The bill was $139 without the tip and not at all worth it (even for a hotel restaurant). Just not a good experience!!

Yelp
The setting is very comfortable. The music was so loud that we asked it be turned down. Pretty sure my cough medicine has more alcohol than my martini. Disappointed since this is New Years Eve

Brad B.

Yelp
Awesome bar. Great selection of whiskey (obviously), and great ambiance. Always comfortable feeling including during the pandemic.

Kelsi R.

Yelp
Worst customer service I have ever received. The bartender was very passive aggressive and rude. Will not be returning.

Brad B.

Yelp
This place is super comfortable and welcoming. This may sound weird but it always smells great, and is super clean. Drinks are top notch with a great selection of whiskey. Not cheap but what do you expect in legacy west?!

Stephen C.

Yelp
Tried their barrel aged old fashion which was too sweet. And then the rebirth which had rye, Madeira, Laphroaig, cognac, and orange bitters. The flavors didn't blend well at all. Very disappointed.

Jynene R.

Yelp
Great whiskey selection but they added ten dollars to my tip without my consent. It's a shame since I tipped over 20%. Totally ruined my impression of the place.

Ashlee C.

Yelp
The manager at whiskey moon is extremely nice and accommodating. He picks up and chips in when busy and knows how to take care of his guests. A perfect night for a perfect vacation. Excellent wine selection, great cocktails, and some cheap buds if you're just wanting to chill out. Don't miss this place.

Debbie R.

Yelp
We stopped in last night in hopes of ordering a good after-dinner drink. The male bartender handed me an iPad that had a list of their whiskeys and bourbons. I chose the Yamazaki Single 12 Year Whiskey priced at $20/pour and was told by the female bartender that they did not have it. She said if I could see it on the shelf or find it, that she would serve it to me. I told her that I did not work there! She then told me that they only have about half of the items that are listed on their iPad. Why in the world would you list something that you do not have to sell??? Is it too difficult to update your whiskey and bourbon list on the iPad to reflect what you actually have in stock??? The male bartender suggested an alternative Japanese whiskey and after my husband asked him the price he replied $90/pour!!! Seriously?! That was over four times the price of my original selection that they did not have. We walked out and will not return.

David C.

Yelp
Wow!!! What a find!! Traveling from Louisville, KY and stumbled on to a hidden gem of bourbons. They have an excellent list and several that are very hard to find. Weller 12, Weller Antique, Elmer T Lee, Stagg Jr, and the list goes on. The bartenders Amanda and Zach were awesome and I had a blast tasting and talking bourbon with them. A must stop if you are wanting to taste some elusive bourbons.

CD D.

Yelp
I'm am not sure about the actual hotel facilities, but we came here for some drinks after dining next door. The bar was not particularly busy for a Saturday nite. I gotta tell ya tho, our man-bunned waiter Mel had an attitude bigger than life and an ego to match!! We just arrived and were trying to situate ourselves when he asked for our drink order. When we were deciding, he started to count down. Said 5,4,3,2,1 ok you had your chance and then walked his sorry butt away!! Dumbfounded, we just had a couple people order from the bar and bring them back to our spot. It was our friend's birthday, so we wanted to get some shots. While on our way to the bar to reorder, good ole Mel crossed our path. We inquired if we should order with him and he said he would get to it in awhile. I asked when that would be, he said that he didn't work for us and that he could ask us to leave at anytime if he wanted to. Crazy huh? I would totally understand his position if we were a young millennial group, but in our group of 10, more than half are close to 50 or older! Not a loud, raucous group. I find this type of employee reprehensible and unacceptable. Hoping that the management reads this and educates this "dude" in customer service guidelines.

Kent K.

Yelp
Great selection of whiskys. 17 Japanese whiskys, 38 scotches, 6 Texas whiskys, 50 bourbons, and 22 Rye whiskys. Great areas to sit and enjoy your whisky and conversation.
