Great place and country atmosphere. If you are hungry and would like more options in your menu go eat before going to the bar, they just have tacos available, they taste really good though. It has plenty parking spots, Music, dj playlist and dancing floor are amazing, true Texas experience.

What a fabulous time! Attended the free Bachata lesson taught tonight by Zach Morris and his assistant Amber. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow and even though it was our first lesson, it was enough for us to feel great dancing on that dance floor tonight. We will definitely attend again. Thanks Zach for a great lesson.

Such a great time! I went for latin night and got there early enough to participate in the dance class. Free entry until 10pm if you sign up for guest list and awesome specials on drinks before 10. Even after that, the drinks are still a good price. The vibes were great and the crowd was awesome. I recommend going early, after 10 it was an hour plus wait outside and it gets packed. Parking also becomes difficult after 10 and they do have valet for $10. Always a great time on the mechanical bull 💪

Extremely disappointed and disgusted with Whiskey River West. The bouncer at the door Friday night was blatantly racist and rude. I watched him let a different girl in after she admitted she was 20 HE EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED the fact she was 20 stating out loud your 20 but I’m gonna let it slide , but when I got to the front (also 20), he told me I couldn’t enter. When I called him out on the double standard, he lied and claimed my ID was fake and that I wasn’t even 20 to begin with . Total nonsense. If you're going to enforce age rules, enforce them for everyone not just pick and choose based on skin color. Googling reviews, I saw it was 18+ on some nights, so we thought we were good. Clearly, we weren’t wanted here. The fact that this man is the first face you see walking in says a lot about this place. Do better and hire people who aren’t biased or full of power trips. Never coming back. And I will be reporting him if you are a person of color please DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO PEOPLE THAT DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU I’ve never experienced such blatant discrimination before I am still shocked by this

I come every Friday night for the dance lesson and dancing! Priscilla is always my bartender and she is the BEST. So friendly. Every time I’m there. Always remembers my drink order and always quick to get it to me. Love that girl and the bar! Will keep coming back!

Came for a friend’s birthday and ordered bottle service. Our server, Jazmyn, was outstanding. She constantly checked on us making sure we got everything we ordered. Definitely request for her when ordering bottle service. My friend had an amazing time for her birthday. The place was pretty packed and the music was great. Perfect for those people who don’t want to make the trip to midtown or downtown for a good time dancing.

This club is impressively well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, great drinks, and an overall enjoyable vibe. The only reason I’m giving three stars instead of five is due to the music selection. I was highly disappointed to hear that the DJ was unable to play songs like Boots on the Ground or Slow Wine, and there was a noticeable lack of zydeco—despite these being well-known staples in the line dancing community. It felt like a missed opportunity to really energize the crowd with popular line dances that many people clearly enjoy and enhance the overall experience. That said, I still had a great time overall but I truly hope the music variety can expand a bit in the future to include more of those crowd favorites and encourage more people to come out and dance.

As a loyal customer I’d expect to have been treated with a little more respect than I was treated with tonight. Waiting in the VIP line for almost 2 hours just to come up to the front and be told they couldn’t let my plus one in. I would of understood if they went down the line and announced it earlier and prevented my waiting in the humid and mosquito infested area, but unfortunately no consideration was given.

We had a freaking blasts! We saw the packed parking lot from the street and new a time would be had. Was out with military so very easy parking. Tall glass of water checked our ids. They are very well versed on the neighboring states so please don't come here and get embarrassed. You will be out entertainment! Ambiance - country mechanical bull but also lots of chandeliers Food - small side area that has tacos, nachos, quesadillas still serving after midnight. Thankfully you can easily get these items without meat. Service - fast and fun. It was girl's night, spring break, rodeo was in town, some folks got engaged, bartenders were busy. A few pulled out some HOT trips that has fire moving from left to right. The dj was amazing. There's no way you can stay seated. We missed the dance lessons but will try them later. A great way to have a good night out.

I have to give a big shout out to the reservation director Joey Huhner at Whiskey River West. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and celebrate my 50th birthday out on the town. I chose Whiskey River West because I love me some country music and dancing. When I booked my party Joey told me not to worry and everything would go smoothly. When I showed up with my party we were escorted to our tables and introduced to our server Jade. Jade again ensured us she would be taking care of us all night and if we needed anything extra aside from our already ordered drinks to let her know. I have to say this place got packed and rightly so. The DJ was playing a great mix of music and dance songs. Jade continued to make sure we were taken care of and my party was amazing. I was surprised when the staff walked out holding signs and sparklers to celebrate my birthday. Embarrassed was more like it but I enjoyed it very much. There was also a taco set up so we could grab some late night snacks on our way out, separate from the establishment but still within. Needless to say I so enjoyed my BD and I highly recommend this place for your next celebration. Thank you Joey and the staff for everything.

I was with my friends coming down the stairs and i accidentally spilled my drink because a big girl bumped into me . The security said I was cut off after that . I was like whatttt I think they need to hire more professional security because that was very unprofessional, The general manager was very professional in resolving this issue I give her professional credit for this.. But all my Friends was disappointed about how the security kicked me out they were 4 of them ready to punch me I said guys I'm good but all of them were pushing me My friends were disappointed by what happened, unfortunately they had to leave there too.

They advertise a Thursday Latin Night special, but don't let anyone in until the special is over. It feels misleading--why promote something on flyers if you're not going to honor it? It's frustrating and seems dishonest. They make us wait in lines for hours while it's hot the least they can do is have fans put up and offer cold water .

Driving through Texas I wanted to stop a bar that had country dancing and mechanical bull-riding. Found it all here and more! All the staff were super cool, the guy checking ID's, the bartenders, the food vendors, everyone. Someone showed me how to two-step!! I didn't do too well on the mechanical bull but it was so fun, overall had a great experience. Exactly what I needed. (: Also the beer bottle chandelier was the cherry on top.

If I could leave 0 starts I would got there at 8pm waiting in line for 2hrs for them to tell us they're at capacity and VIP is their priority! Could've told general admission they were at capacity instead of having us wait 2 hours in line in this heat !! SMH DO BETTER!

DO NOT SHOW UP ON HOLIDAY EVENTS! (Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, etc) No proper management as far as admission process. Super long lines & people WILL cut the lines. It infuriates folks & can cause fights which is a major safety concern. If you show up @ 8PM on a holiday event, you will be in @10PM (VIP will be tended to first & learned it is inexpensive). On holidays, VIP will only allow 1 person instead of 2. Any other day, its a great time! Asinine is the best word to describe it all.

They have a mechanical bull-$3.25 per ride. The dance area was great. It is very busy on Saturday nights so expect a line around 10 pm. Bar tenders were easy to flag down and drinks were strong. Music was mostly country with some dance/pop mixed in- easy to find someone to give you dance lessons here!

Latina/mexican bar tenders do not give u option to freely tip. They closed your tap with an automatic 20% gratuity, and do not like giving receipt when you charge. Go to Mo's saloon, they have more honest and less hassle bartenders. Only the mexican staff have entitlement attitude

Wholy crap yelpers..... Well its a pretty cool place to hang. Make sure you get there on happy hour or get charged 10 bucks for a crown and coke... Always a good vibe. Two stars is because live behind them. I was in a mad rush and bought a bouse without the research... my bad. Wholy crap its loud at night. The people that live in the subdivision has complained but thats all a persone can do. They continue to keep the music loud. I give them a two stars because they are not working with the public to keep the music down. Ok ok yes I get what your thinking. But Bobby J you go there isn't that being a little two face? Well yelpers I don't mind the Friday Saturday and also the Thursday crowd. But come on, I'm up like 530 ish on Monday. Can they just keep the Sunday crowd music down....?? Well, I've invested in a fan and Boise ear pods with noise canceling. That works pretty good. Peace out yall.....

If I could give this shithole zero stars I would. Blasting terrible bass boosted music until 2 in the goddamn morning, and the music can be heard from over a mile away. Called the police and they said they couldn't do anything. Not sure what absolute idiot made that rule. Don't go here, don't buy a house within a 3-mile radius of this absolute dump.

This place feels like home to me. Moni is very helpful and manages so well. Every single bartender is hardworking and knows what there doing, Especially the front bar. Miguel and his family at the front bar are dedicated to serving you and giving you the best experience possible. The security, Thomas and Steven Specifically not only care about the safety of there staff, but the customers as well. The bar backs work wonderfully at keeping the place clean during business hours as well. The vibe is always fun, and carefree. The girl at the front desk always greets with a smile as well and is there to help. DJ Damian is my favorite, and always gives a wonderful variety of music. If your hungry, don't forget to get some tacos near the front door. So yum after dancing the night away! Like I said. It's home.

This club is overall a really good place to come to if you are looking for diversity, inclusivity and an overall good time. I always enjoy coming here! However, tonight the DJ was quite disappointing. We were outside mostly with DJ Oz and despite his saying that we could request up to five songs to play (of any genre), he chose NOT to play any of the songs that were requested by my niece and her friend. Clearly he was just wanting to get a follow on his social media. It was mostly country music that was playing outside tonight when usually it's a very diverse and eclectic style that is played for the crowd, (even though we normally bounce from outside to inside to get a listen from both DJs). For some strange reason DJ Oz chose to cater to the country music crowd, nothing against country, but I like to hear an all around balanced sound in music whenever it comes to being at a club that way everyone is included. I usually always enjoy myself while I'm there but tonight was kind of a blah time. Whatever night DJ Oz is going to be there, count me out for sure. Other than that the place is very great. I love the ambiance and I love the people and the energy. I love that despite all of the madness in the world, this place creates a space where we ALL can cast away our stresses and just enjoy ourselves in the moment. I love the service and I definitely love the drinks! I did not get the name of the young bartender who serves on the outside of the bar but she is ALWAYS rockin' it with the drinks! .

Had a great night till I found out I was charged 17$ on my card. Didn't walk a tab or anything when I asked about the charge I was told it'll go back in 4 days. Needless to say it didn't.

Horribly ran place, security seem to be the only people who do their job correctly. The pregnant manager lady waddles around and solves no one's problems, who hired her?! Bartenders are rude as hell, it literally sobers me up trying to order a drink while getting so much damn attitude from them. Feels to me like Whiskey River is all about a quick cash grab and they couldn't care less about customer service. I think I'll take my business to the new place down the street, seems like a much better option.

Fun spot, but disrespectful outside service, especially one "hostess" in the front wearing glasses and a cowboy hat. He disrespected 2 veterans upon leave tonight, he gave off very much "bully" vibes. When he was lowering the flag, he put it by his crotch and laughed which was very disrespectful. Will we return again? Not sure.

Yee-haw!! Get those cowboy boots on darlin, its time for a good ol' fashion ho-down! Texas Style. Whiskey River is definitely a cool place to get your dance on. The atmosphere is nice, and on Thursdays they do Latin Night. If you show up early enough, apparently you don't have to pay for the cover, but it looks like you have to do that nonsense online before 10, or some mumbo jumbo. Not to sure, but unfortunately we pulled up at 9pm, and still had to fork over those 10 bucks. No worries, it was absolutely worth it. My girlfriend is from LA, and she was looking for a place that would represent every image she's ever seen of Texas on TV. Whiskey River was the spot. Although we were there on Latin night, the Dj mixed up all types of great music. There were great drink specials, a cool mechanical bull inside, pull tables, and outdoor patio with games and different music bumping as well! The vibes were friendly and fantastic throughout the entire club. There was never a moment where I felt like I need to clutch my purse, or hold on to my boots! Plenty of parking, but the place can get very packed easily! Lots of cool areas to take pictures to flex on the gram. Pretty big place as well, although I hear from the locals, that the OG Whiskey River in Far AS Heck, Texas is much better. No idea, this please was cool! All in all, a fun time.

This location is an actual POS, a group of us went for Latin night on Thursday 12/26, when we got there around 9:30pm there was an extremely long line and we were hoping to get in before 10:00. The line was moving E X T R E M E L Y slow, like so slow it was ridiculous. Fast forward way past 10:00pm we're wondering why it was taking too long to get inside and of course part of the reason had to be because they were way over capacity. We stood out there for almost 2 hours at the front of the line and went around to check why it was taking so long to get it and the doors were closed they weren't allowing anyone else inside because they were at max capacity and instead of saying something they were allowing all those people to stand out there waiting for nothing, they were gonna close in line 2 hours and people were still in line waiting to get in. The most ridiculous thing I've ever witnessed, say yall are at max capacity idiots.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 starts is because the music is wayyyyy too loud. You will literally go deaf LOL. They played a good mix of all music, threw in some line dances as well! But, overall we had a great time. It did take awhile for people to start asking other people to dance, a lot of parties/birthdays/bottle services going on. I love how they have an area outside to hangout/dance as well, I just wished the "dance floor" outside was better. The bouncers were also SO observant and noticed a creepy guy dancing with my friend making her uncomfortable and he came up to us after to check on her. Definitely made us feel safe as we went out for a girls night, props to y'all for that!

Wow! This place was packed and the people were everywhere! There is a dance floor the size of a small parking lot to accommodate everything from the Achy Breaky Heart to The Cha Cha Slide and yes they play music of all genres. Let me be clear..there is a vibe in this spot and they cater to everyone. The drinks are strong and their are if I'm counting correctly 4 bars total. There are 3 on the inside and one in the back on the patio which also has a dance area. DJ Deadpool keeps the patio are on with his more hip hop beats so check this area out. Bring your cigars and grab a picnic table and chop it up with your boys, girls shoot EVERYBODY! If you wearing your boots got your cowboy hats on and you wanna here some of the latest country tunes and do those fabulous line dances DJ Damian has you covered on the main dance hall. I didn't try the food but I will next time. Eat before you drink so you can stay on your feet! There is no cover before 10 pm and after 10 pm it's $10. They offer valet service and theirs a huge parking lot. Restrooms all over the place and on the outside! Whether you wear boots, sneakers, or whatever dancing shoes you don for the night Whiskey River West will not disappoint. Trust me you will not regret it! Oh yeah and they do have the whiskey

This is literally behind me house. Place was always packed with cars and always wondered what ambiance will pull such a crowd. When I visited for the first time, I understood why. Great place, great music and the vibe is epic

I'm so glad this place opened back up after Covid. The atmosphere is euphoric! They have great music, great food and great drinks! We visited on one of their dinner deal nights and we loved it!! At first it was a bit slow but once it picked up it was buzzing with people laughing, dancing and having a great time. I recommend this place to anyone who loves Country music and wants to dance the night away! They also played Latin music and various genres to satisfy all tastes!

I haven't been out to a bar in about a year. Was hoping to have a good time and celebrate my friend's birthday with him at this establishment. The atmosphere is pretty good, kinda dig the bottle chandelier. However do not leave any form of payment with the bartenders, they will "lose/don't have" your card. Let em swipe your card sure but do not let them keep it for a tab. The bartender I had she kept serving me shot after shot. I'm 5'3 at 120 pounds, I had way more than 8 shots in 3 hours. I was only there from 9pm-12am. It was 4 dollar Tito's night so I had a bunch of Tito's shots with the birthday boy. I showed up with over $100, and left with only $40. How did $4 Tito's shots lead to an over $80 bill? Doesn't matter, I won't be coming back. I'd say the cool thing is they do order you an uber for you if you ask which is nice. I spent the entirety of the next day horribly recovering from the 8+ shots I had previously. Sure I'm at fault for ordering so many shots, but if you're TABC certified, you should know when to cut people off. Overall average experience, nothing horrible, but nothing great either. Just mediocre, bars in Houston are much better than this place. This was my first and last time coming here.

The music is good, the taco stand is a rip off. They put out a sign for 3,50 per taco. The Hispanic gal told me 14.50. That's 10.50. So where did the extra 4 dollars come from? I asked. The Hispanic gal said it was just in the computer. She couldn't change it. I handed her 15 dollars. She gave me 5 back. I asked where my 50 cents was. She told me they don't have change. Therefore, they have false advertisement and are liars, cheats and thieves. I spoke with a brunette woman who said she was management. This dimwit told me it was tax. WTF. Does she think everyone in the world grew up on liberal common core math. Tax on 10.50 is 87 cents. She is also another one that seems to think people are stupid. Full me once FU on the next ho around won't be back to this SH. .

I thought it was going to be more complicated but he answered all my questions and in less than 10 minutes I had everything secured. I've been there once and I only have good things to say about this location!

I used to go to the whiskey river-Willowbrook location back in my hay-day.. when I heard they made this location I had to check it out. It was SO much fun two-steppin again.. Even though I have flashbacks of my boots on the ceiling right next to the whiskey river chandelier after a drunk guy decided to flip me and then got upset because i didn't hit the landing properly.. it was still such a fun night! It was packed, they had great music, great atmosphere and a very nice back porch to sit on. Did I also mention there is another dance floor out there too? 2 dance floors! Until next time WR!!

I had a very bad experience led last Saturday at this place... very un respectful the security guy's!! One star is too much... the don't respect women

We have been enjoying Whiskey River West for months now as the pandemic has started to fizzle out. My wife and I always enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly staff. We have been loving the free dance lessons on Thursday nights! We especially want to mention Hector! He's our main man bartender and he always has a smile on his face and he entertains the crowd like no other! Definitely a talented bartender!

I wish there was an option for NO STARS! What a ripoff! We went in on a Saturday night. We were one of the first of about 5 people in the door. We expected a large crowd for a Saturday, which is why we arrived early. At the door we were hit with a $10 cover charge, each! For a DJ, not even a live band. OK. Must be a GREAT DJ! Um NO! Basically music videos on TV screens. Upon entering and ordering 2 drinks for $17, walked a circle around the dance floor and discovered EVERY table was "reserved"! No seating at a table! One of about 5 couples to walk in first and NO tables to sit at! The lady who took our money at the door could have told us that. We were in the place for less than 10 min, 7 of that was ordering 2 drinks and we had just dropped $37 and NO seating! I asked to speak with the manager and was told "sorry" everyone pays a cover and we can't refund it once you pay it. I told him I would never have paid it if I knew there were no tables to sit at. We had invited 4 other couples to come out to go dancing with us. He was nice enough to give me two complimentary door passes to come in next time! Gee Thanks! At a minimum with what we paid, that's another $148 they would have suckered us out of if our party showed up. We called our party and immediately changed our venue! I asked the bartender if these were the same prices they had before the COVID shutdown and she replied they are actually higher now! REALLY?!? WOW! There are plenty of other places to go where we can Uber within a few miles of here with NO COVER and with drink specials. Oh well, lesson learned! We live an $8 Uber ride from here and are very social and go out with couples every weekend to dance and have fun. Won't be coming back here to drop 40 bucks just to get in the door and have a drink! We were told we could reserve a table and pay for a place to sit, if we wanted to do that next time! I'm sure they have a good crowd and they know their market and this is the price people are willing to pay to get in the door to hear a DJ. By the way, the music is not just country. They play some rap that 3 people tried to line dance to and some pop. I am so pist, I'm going to finish my drink and head to Mou's Place in Katy where they have live music, $8 cover and $3 beer. Save your money! this place wasn't worth it even if there was no cover charge! Their drink prices are not competitive with other local venues I'll give my complimentary door passes to someone coming in as I'm heading out because I can't see myself ever returning to drop another $37 in 5 minutes with no table to sit at! I still can't wrap my head around this marketing strategy! But I'm sure it works for them to get people back after the shutdown. Oh well. Lesson learned. Hope this helps save some other sucker from being swindled before showing up thinking this would be a great venue to go country dancing. Had they simply returned my cover, they still would have had $17 for 1 beer and 1 basic mixed drink and I would have been on my way and they could go about their business. So... I hope this review keeps people from having the same terrible experience and the management learns that it just doesn't make sense to be unreasonable when someone articulately explains that no table to sit at all night would not make for a very good experience for 5 couples.

Please be aware of place! I gave the bartender a $100 bill for 3 drinks and he gave me back !17! Be aware of this place!!! They will rob you you!! We had to fight to get out change! Look out! They are counting on you be intoxicated and not realizing what is happening. Shame on them! How degrading. I wish a negative review was available.

hispanic/mexican male bar tender is super rude and intimidating when ask for a have your way cocktail drink. Hebis the lead bar tender and had the attituded of A bully.

I love this place! There are 2 separate aspects to consider when you read this review... 1st the nightclub/21+ part... so the dancehall is 21 and up (sorry younger people). Plenty of room to not feel like a sardine can... great air conditioning (I hate that sticky sweat feeling). The djs are great, there is one inside and outside they play a mix of country and other top 40s style music... restrooms are clean and there are so many I have never experienced a line! Nice selection of drinks and specialty beers! Perfect place to just hand out and people watch or have a fun wild night... I believe the nightclub part is open wed-sat. Staff is great and really fast... also like the fact that smoking isn't allowed inside... I hate smelling like an ashtray. Also they sell tacos to refuel in the middle of your dance session 2nd restaurant- they serve bbq... and it's good. Great atmosphere for the whole family... on sundays they usually have live music and a dj so you can burn off some calories after eating the delicious desserts... your furry 4 legged friends are welcome! And they even provide baggies for when they need to relieve themselves! They pretty much covered all the bases here...

Went to Whisky River for the Halloween Bash. Quite disappointed....got there early and signed up for the costume contest then was not let into the competition lineup for no real reason after being signed up‍ Totally unfair "contest" I'll go to MOs next year!!

What a great place. We went there for my husbands birthday. From the initial set up of reserving the tables to our amazing waitress Sarah. Everything was great. Music was awesome and loved having a dance floor outside.

We used Uber Eats to pickup our order of lean bbq brisket, Jalapeño sausage and sides. It was ridiculous. We've tried to order from this place before during the hours of operation for bbq. No one ever seems to pick up the phone and it goes straight to voicemail. Well, we decided to get this via Uber Eats. This took FOREVER. After waiting 40 minutes (we live nearby but didn't want to get out to pick up this food--yay Uber Eats), I called Uber Eats to cancel the order. It was 40 minutes of seeing 'preparing order'. Uber Eats couldn't get a hold of anyone. Their call kept going straight to voicemail. Uber Eats contacted the delivery person and said that they were trying to pick up our order. Really. So, the brisket is already cooked! And the sides too. I'm about to tell you how I know this. The brisket was cold in the middle and very, very dry. Bland. Jalapeño sausage--hard to mess up something that you buy from the store. Shiner bock ranchero beans--no salt or any flavor. Mushy and watery. The Mac and cheese had a sauce that was broken and so starchy. Unappetizing. Of course not much flavor there either. The coleslaw tasted almost like a creamy sauerkraut. It was a little sour. Not delicious at all. I was hoping the BBQ sauce would be enough to add some flavor magic to this meal of no taste. Well, if you like ketchup with black pepper pretending to be BBQ sauce, then you'll like this. Damn, a couple of ppl on NextDoor went on and on about this food so we ordered take out. Always up for trying new places but I hate bad surprises.

Place is pretty cool, really dig the atmosphere. Drinks are damn good! Our bartender, Jas, was awesome. Definitely be visiting again soon
