"The wings were popular enough that the restaurateur opened up the bar Whiskey Soda Lounge down the street, where locals would circumvent the two-hour-plus-waits at the original restaurant, and served them there, as well; he went on to create a chain of fast-casual wing shops that specifically served that dish. Whiskey Soda Lounge, as well as most of the Pok Pok Wing locations, closed for good in June." - Alex Frane

"The opening of Whiskey Soda Lounge down the street in 2009 was a crucial moment for Pok Pok, ushering in the trend of the “waiting room” bar or lounge near the big-name restaurant." - Alex Frane

Lots of yummy cocktails to choose from. Can get the famous Pok Pok chicken wings and a smaller menu items here without the crazy lineup at Pok Pok's. Great place for snacks and drinks.

This place was great. The service was awesome and the drinks were amazing. This place is great spot to also stop while waiting for a seat at Pok Pok across the street. They are owned by the same company so if you inform the bartender that you are on the list across the street they will keep you updated on your status on the list. Also you have to try the fried pumpkin it’s such a great appetizer.

Visited 6.21.18 - 5:30ish. Took a bus to get there. Got to love Portland Public Transit, awesome. Food and service were decent.

Went here for drinks while waiting for Pok Pok. So many great options! Good food options as well if Pok Pok is full. The ice cream drinks are great too!

Great ambience, drink selection, and food options. Definitely not your mall-style pad Thai! The jelly beers alone are worth the visit on a nice day and are needed for the heat of some dishes. I ordered the Yan Plaa Meuk and loved the heat and flavor. An order of the Vietnamese Fish Sauce wings is mandatory as well. Highly recommended.

Good food and nice atmosphere. Dig the food and less of a wait than Pok pok across the street and has a few of their more popular menu items such as the awesome wings. Got the clams!

Alternative to PokPok across. Limited menu but still good. You order your food at the bar and scout your own table. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes if you like spicy!

Wow, what an experience. The cocktail list here is very creative and well crafted. Be sure to try the Tham Boon. Food was good too. I tried the Mantou Moo Wan which was perfect. Very well balanced. I was a little disappointed they are not making the Plaa Meuk Ping anymore. Please bring this back!
